When you think about the most important RPGs from 2001, what do you think of? Final Fantasy X? Arcanum? Throne of Bhaal? Well, Braden "ArbitraryWater", Chris "ZombiePie", and Adam "Borgmaster" REDACTED covered none of those this week. Instead, they covered Ion Storm's Anachronox. Did Tom Hall's contribution to the ill-fated development studio avoid Daikatana's fate? How much did our intrepid hosts laugh at the game's *very funny* jokes? Why not tune in and find out? There's even a tangent about Rise of the Triad in there, as a treat. Who is this mysterious stranger?? Will our heroes save him in time?! What is he doing with those kids?!?! There is so much going on right now and I have no idea what to think! Max Hedman, hold me for comfort! Sound effects courtesy of Zapsplat.
A course of action takes shape in Session 151 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets, as the Damned Fools continue their research in Candlekeep. It's becoming clear that saving Baldur's Gate from either Bhaal's machinations or the Gith dragon raid may be a suicide mission… One that the Fools are prepared to accept.
The Fools have convinced Roridas to give them a tenday before the Gith ride their red dragons into Baldur's Gate to cleanse it of the Mindflayer plague. So they plan a trip to Candlekeep to learn what they can do (if anything) to combat Bhaal—the Lord of Murder—and his machinations... This is Session 148 of BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets.
Session 147 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets. The worst has come to pass. Duke Ulder Ravengard has been murdered by Bhaal's daughter; the Gith are on the brink of bringing dragons to bear to burn Baldur's Gate to the ground; and the Damned Fools have no idea what to do about any of it…
After an emotionally charged ending that saw the Damned Fools defeat the Ulitharid, they were suddenly confronted with Bhaal himself, Lord of Murder! Bhaal gave them an ultimatum: their freedom in exchange for a death. Xibalba volunteered, but Aego remembered the feather Zauriel had given them to summon her in an hour of need—and summon her they did! She arrived to confront the evil one, and as the Fools fled, she made the ultimate sacrifice to save them. But Bhaal, laughing, issued one more decree: One of three people they hold dear was going to die. It was up to them to choose which two they were going to save in Session 146 of DICELORE's BALDUR'S GATE: Eldritch Secrets!
In the 20+ years since its release, many would consider Baldur's Gate 2 to be the pinnacle of the CRPG genre. Widely recognized as having laid the groundwork for Bioware's future endeavors in the RPG space with Mass Effect and Dragon Age, Baldur's Gate 2 stands tall to this day with its innovative scenario design, immersive and complex world building, and engaging (if sometimes overly complex) implementation of 2nd Edition Dungeons and Dragons combat. Bryan has been through the streets of Athkalta before, but Josh joins him for another trip to the Forgotten Realms as they both continue their year of Baldur's Gate, and ready themselves to close out the trilogy. Its worth mentioning that the inclusion of Throne of Bhaal as an expansion turns this into a game that can easily push into 100 hour territory, so please enjoy this relatively brief tour of what this CRPG classic has on offer. Now gather your headphones, and venture forth!Three Word Reviews:Bryan - Masterpiece Meets MicromanagementJosh - An Era Defined

Baldur's Gate 2, the second in BioWare's landmark RPG series, was always kind of "the goal", as it's usually said to be one of the best RPGs ever made, even more so than the first. And I do believe that it holds up in that way- the adventuring is unmatched, the characters are vivid and memorable, and you're able to see your character's arc come to a close, all the way from the beginning of Baldur's Gate 1. Joining me today is Bryan Skursha of Pixelated Playgrounds, a gaming book club podcast. Pixelated Playgrounds takes a very thoughtful and analytical approach to the games they cover, which I love. The scene opens as Gryff, the shadow dragon of Thera and Bhaal's creation, and Tunorimorgil fight to the death. Mitoa rides on the back of Tunori, helping him navigate the shadow stepping creature. Then, we find the rest of the party in the Hunting Garden of the Hulorn, inside of Selgaunt (the now earthomote). When all hope at surviving seems lost, a polymorphed Mitoa flies in as a dragon. Fargo and his Blades retreat to the palace. The party follows and is trapped in the ballroom with an injured Source and all of the Helms. As the episode closes, we hear the banging of an unknown person, trying to get into the ballroom.
Show Notes: This week, Fiona and Hamilton check out 'Minsc & Boo's Journal of Villany' - a D&D 5e sourcebook that had a surprise release in October this year. The journal stars two fan-favourite characters from the video game series Baldur's Gate; Minsc, the legendary ranger and his pet (giant space) hamster, Boo. From the book's bio: 'A century has passed since the Bhaalspawn fought over the legacy of their father — Bhaal, the Lord of Murder. Two heroes witnessed the epic struggle firsthand — the ranger Minsc and his faithful companion, Boo.' 'Minsc and Boo were able to track down old friends and hated enemies and find out what they've been up to over the past century. They've compiled everything into this journal, edited by the traveler extraordinaire, Volo Geddarm.' 'Included in this journal are four cities, including Athkatla and Baldur's Gate; ten group patrons led by some of Minsc and Boo's old friends; a dozen new monsters; six arch-villains and eleven dastardly henchmen.' All proceeds of 'Minsc & Boo's Journal of Villainy' will go to the charity Extra Life the gaming charity that supports children's hospitals in the Children's Miracle Network. This episode's audio was taken from the VOD originally premiering on Dragon's Duel's Twitch channel on Thursday 5th November 2021. The party hopes to escape the sound of dragon wings by checking out the cave at Ramblecoats where supposedly Aldond first came across Aurumordic. But inside the cave there is a Shadow Crossing to the Shadowfell. A female voice emanates from the rift and the Raven Queen distracts everyone long enough for Thera to get a seemingly fatal blow on Sonya. When Ciran, in a mad rage, stabs Thera she begins transforming into an Avatar of Bhaal- the Ravager. Jendal pops his potion of Giant Strength and wrestles with the Ravager. Refusing to kill the Ravager, the group escapes to outside of the falls where they run face to face with the Shadow Dragon, Griff. And The Ravager comes up from behind. Thera tells the dragon to unleash its breath weapon, but Adon's new-found friend, Thiasce ("Hash-ca") blocks the blast. And just when everyone thinks they have met their end Ciran finds something on the banks of the River...
Kaligax begins to set up a perimeter around Ordulin, expecting the party to be passing through any day. Aldond and Fargo discuss what will happen if The Source doesn't cooperate. And Thera finds out there are hidden gifts associated with being a chosen of Bhaal.
Welcome to Dev Game Club, where this week we continue our series on Baldur's Gate, the 1998 D&D interpretation that put BioWare on the map, as it were. This is the sixteenth episode in a series about the Faerûnian Pantheon. Bhaal hopes for an endless stream of murder and violent death not just from his faith but from the entire continent. In this deeply evil faith murder isn't just an expectation, it's a religious rite. 0:32 Titles 0:49 Portfolio & Domains 1:24 Appearance & Manifestations 4:09 Abilities 6:24 Personal History 17:42 Personality 18:55 Personal Realms 23:41 Allies & Allegiances 24:43 Enemies 24:57 Avatar & Deity Stat Blocks 25:18 Symbols 25:35 Central Dogma 26:50 Presence of the Faith in the Realms 28:23 Hierarchy & Structure of the Clergy 30:56 Responsibilities & Duties of the Followers 32:48 Orders & Priestly Bodies 33:47 Appearance & Dress 34:49 Rituals 37:47 General Locations of Temples & Shrines 39:25 Specific & Known Locations of Worship 43:10 Character Options 46:02 DM Options Chris Perkins talking about the Dead Three on Lore you should Know: https://youtu.be/NAveVhvydhM Twitter: My personal twitter: https://twitter.com/ShivsEmbrace Podcast: https://twitter.com/RealmsReligion Email: realmsreligion@gmail.com Invite for the podcast Discord channel: https://discord.gg/FfMMqUA Music from https://filmmusic.io "Shadowlands 4 - Breath" by Kevin MacLeod (https://incompetech.com) License: CC BY https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

Abenteurer*innen! Lauscht uns! Bhaal befiehlt es! Außerdem erwähnt: Divinity: Original Sin 1 & 2, Pillars of Eternity 1 & 2, Pathfinder: Kingmaker, Planescape Torment, Torment: Tides of Numenerra, Tyrrany, Baldur's Gate: Dark Alliance, R. A. Salvatore, Magic: Arena, Fallout 4, Andreas aus Frauentausch ;) Music by Eric Matyas www.soundimage.org
The group celebrates at the Feast of the Moon, where nothing could possibly be weird or bad at all.
With Professor Hugo in tow; our heroes return to a very different Ceu Dagas Academy; as they attempt to imprison Bhaal and make their next move; they manage to take up a more... winding path.
As our heroes plan for the next phase of their journey; they must make contact with someone who can help contain the misty form of Bhaal before he breaks free from his rapidly weakening prison..
As our heroes reconvene to hear Fierna's verdict; Bhaal makes a move. It's the Season 3 Finale' of The Amber Wars- Devils in the Deep.
Having finally escaped Stygia; our heroes arrive in Phlethegos, one layer up in the 9 hells. As they seek out information on the being known as Bhaal, they find that this city is more than just a capital for an archdevil.
Hoje é dia de maldade, dia de falar dos deuses mais filhos da puta de Forgotten. Brayner e Rafa dão sequência a nossa série sobre os deuses e contam mais sobre a história de cada um. Bane, Lord of Darkness. Bhaal, Lord of Murder. Myrkul, Lord of Bones. These are the dead three. Once they were mortal adventurers who sought godhood, and received it; becoming terrifying deities. Worse though, is those who choose to follow them.Game: Dungeons & Dragons 5th editionCampaign: Baldur's Gate: Descent into AvernusGuest Players: Eoghan Ó Fáilbhe (How We Roll Podcast), Virginia PageMusic by: Halgrath, Ager Sonus, Atrium Carceri, Herbst9 under permission from Cryo Chamber.
