Martin and Stefan remember when Cascade Brewing released beers into the European webshops. It was a huge moment for EU beer nerds. 10 years later, Cascade has ceased production sadly. They lament the demise of the sour powerhouse that helped bring sour beers to the mainstream. Cascade Blueberry Ale 2015 is from that first release and after 10 years, it's got a lot of life in it. It could probably go another 10 years. They follow it up with another sour powerhouse beer brewery, The Bruery Terreux. Sans Pagaie 2017 is a sour blonde ale with cherries. Their version of a Belgian Kriek. #beer #craftbeer #drinks #sourbeer #kriek #wildale
Advent 2023 Day 18 is from the US brewery Bruery Terreux. This collaboration betweeen Bruery Terreux and Garage Project blends lemon balm, camomile and wildflower honey with a oak aged saison. Advent 2021 Day 12 and it's getting dark. Bruery Terreux levels of darkness. Tart of Darkness is their barrel aged sour stout that has been to known to peel the enamel off your teeth. One of the variants in 2018 featured black currants. After being treated with special souring bacterial, the beer is added to bourbon barrels that previously help Black Tuesday. The beer is allowed to take on the rich complex Black Tuesday and bourbon flavors. They threw in a bunch of black currants to create a really fun and funky beer.

We haven't heard of Bruery Terreux's The Orchard Project. There are three beers from this line and we get to try Nectarines. Bruery Terreux has been known to make incredibly sour beers. This one is just on the boarder. This sour wit ale is brewed with spices and aged in oak barrels with raspberries and nectarines. It's a pucker fest but in a good way. We're joined by Bjornguiden again so you know you want to pucker up.

We're excited about the Baghaven Wild Ale Celebration next week. In order to prepare, we picked a sour beer from Bruery Terreux. Well known for their incredible sour beers the Oude Tart is their take on a Flemmish red. For very ying, there is a yang. We can only have sours so we paired it with the Untitled Arts Horchata Milk Stout, a very different beer but equally impressive with lots of flavor and spice.

November's episode is hitting you guys pretty late, but here it is. In honor of the most important thing happening in December, the release of Star Wars Episode IX, we decided to watch a couple of #StarWars inspired pieces of crap. First on the chopping block was the 1978 #SpaghettiSciFi, StarCrashh, starring none other than the David Hasselhoff. We get into the weeds about why Michael doesn't like "Star Wars" yet Reuben loves it, although we do agree that Spaceballs is incredible. We talk about the life and times of Rick Moranis, Reuben's recent trip to the states to celebrate Elan and Maya from Jersey City's wedding, and while on that trip he was a guest on these two podcasts: the Average Joe Comic Show and the Black Aaron Broadcast. Both of which are far better shows than this one and well worth your time. It was also on this trip that Reuben really began to over eat when he ate an entire pizza at The Star Tavern. Reuben reminisced of his time spent at anime conventions in his 20s. We remarked on how much people abroad would appreciate the #Australiancraftbeer scene with the likes of amazing brewers such as Moon Dog Craft Brewery, La Sirène Brewing, Hargreaves Hill Brewery, Mornington Peninsula Brewery, and Dainton Beer. While on his trip to the States, Reuben was able to visit The Bruery with his cousin Barry and girlfriend Alvi from LA. Mike also professed his love of Family Guy and his growing appreciation for winter. We also discovered what that whole U.S. Surgeon General stuff is all about on American beers which led to a conversation about the sad state of affairs in the American political system. Many friends of the show were mentioned on this episode most notably are Jonny from Philly and Cassten's Mum for their donations to our Patreon. We also shout out Thuy's great dessert cooking, Thy's confusion as to why we watch such terrible movies, Uri from Boston and her trip with Mike and Reuben to MR WEST - Bar & Bottle Shop, and Reuben's folks, Milinda and Noel from Boston/New Jersey and of course our friends over at the American Good Beer Bad Movie Night. Beers were purchased from the Thirsty Cafe & Bar, Mr. West, and Bruery Terreux and are the following: (We tried to go sci-fi themed again) - Hop Nation American Red Ale - Thunder Road Hopstar XPA - Kaiju Robohop Golden IPA - Left Handed Giant Beam of Light Wheat IPA - The Bruery Trade Winds Belgian Style Golden Ale - The Bruery Wit the Funk

Some people go out and whoop it up for the New Year. Carlin and Rebecca decided this time to record a podcast episode featuring a multi-course meal paired with four different beers. Everyone knows the BBQ family is growing way beyond the borders of Texas or even these beautiful United States of America. There’s Dave Peralta who is smoking American briskets in the Philippines using dragon fruit and tamarind wood. There’s Holy Smoke in Sweden who are feasting on Texas BBQ just south of the arctic circle. This episode is all about the west coast and how Texas BBQ is popping up all along the pacific ocean. This week’s episode takes us to Bruery Terreux, a wildly traditional brewery in Anaheim California. Yesterday Danny Castillo and his crew fed hundreds of hungry Californians at a pop up and our new west coast correspondent was there to talk to the people involved. Did I just say west coast correspondent? Yes, I did. I’d like to introduce y’all to Abe Delgado. AKA @abedelgadoeats on instagram. Calling Abe a BBQ enthusiast is an understatement. He’s loved Texas BBQ his whole life even after he moved from Texas to California. You may remember him from our coverage of Texas monthly and he’s combing the streets of California trying to sniff out any BBQ he can find. Your west coast host was at Heritage BBQ talking to a long list of west coast enthusiasts. He spoke with Shark Man Dan aka Ragged Tooth bbq who are cooking some Texas BBQ out there. He spoke to Alex aka @theoffsetbbq on instagram and a huge enthusiast. Alex throws down to help other bbq pit masters like Andrew from Moo’s in LA. There’s not a huge pool of Texas BBQ people so they are tight on the west coast. You never know when you need a little help at the smoker or on the cutting line. Abe also spoke with some of the enthusiasts of Heritage BBQ. This couple goes to every popup that Danny throws and they’re often first in line. They like to be early so that they can get a beef rib. There was a film crew at the popup as well led by Florentino Levas who are shooting films all about BBQ and the long hard work of cooking it. At first he didn’t believe that this BBQ was in Cali and he was pleasantly surprised to meet Danny and the crew. Everyone at the popup appreciates not having to travel to Texas to eat this style of bbq. One of the most active members of the west coast foodie community is GoldLineLA. He connected with our show on instagram a long time ago and we’re glad he linked up with Abe. You can follow him and see all the amazing eats he tries all over LA. Enjoy this west coast episode brought to you by our west coast correspondent and enthusiast, Abe Delgado, enjoy. “Don’t rent, you’re just throwing away money. Buy a house instead, it’s a great investment!” - says almost everyone who purchases a home. It’s often accepted as a gospel truth that purchasing a home as a primary residence is always a great investment. This is just not true. We promise you, unless you’re house hacking, chances are your house makes an awful investment. It could possibly be a good lifestyle choice, maybe a great decision for you and your family, or perhaps you're getting a great deal, but that doesn’t mean you should consider it to be a great investment. In this episode, we cover all the different reasons why your primary residence is an awful investment, and then we also give some tips to consider to make your home a ‘less bad’ investment. And at the beginning of this episode we enjoyed a Rueuze (2015) by Bruery Terreux which you can find and learn all about on Untappd. Anaheim Breweries; Part Two - Beer Harder. After the ghost crew gave Anaheim breweries a good tongue lashing in the Disney beer nugget, they decided to give the city a chance to redeem itself in the ears of beer drinkers everywhere. This whirlwind day of SoCal suds started off at Unsung Brewery, a newcomer to the Anaheim scene with a bitching comic book theme and some throughly tasty brews. Then we move over to Bruery Terreux where they make a good beer, and then ruin it by putting a bunch a random shit it in. And the finale of the day was at Bottle Logic, which drew in Engineer Bob with some Star Wars themed beers and won everyone over with their delicious, delicious offering. All and all, not a bad day for beer. That'll do, Anaheim. That'll do.

This month, LBC brewer & barrel wrangler Tommy Gutierrez joins Wim, Craig & Zach in the booth as they sit down with Bruery Terreux Production Manager, Jeremy Grinkey! The conversation turns sour quickly as Jeremy and the guys chat about wood quality, the best vessels for aging, and the funky faire of the Bruery Terreux. It's a wide-ranging and informative discussion on how a little time, a little beer, and the right container can make something truly marvelous.
Host Ben Rice spends yet another day at the California Craft Beer Summit, with the full intent of recording another mini-episode during the actual beer festival, featuring Herlinda Heras of the Brew HaHa Drive Time Radio Show and Patrick Rue of the Bruery/Bruery Terreux, only to have Herlinda bring along her co-host Joe Tucker, who also just happens to be the founder of the very popular RateBeer.com. Instead of 15 minutes, we spend 40 minutes discussing the Craft Beer Summit, as well as upcoming RateBeer.com festivals the Funk N Dank Fest and Rate Beer Best Fest. Plus Patrick discusses his humble beginnings, the split-up of The Bruery into two separate entities, and how collaboration beers come about and get brewed. Plus we talk about our first beer loves and Herlinda gives some insight into how dating a non-craft drinker can go terribly wrong. Enjoy! Season 3, Episode 28 – This week, beers from Bruery Terreux. This week on the show, we’re drinking eight beers from Bruery Terreux in celebration of The Bruery opening a second tasting room in Anaheim, California on July 8, 2016! Beer from Bruery Terreux For those not in the know, Bruery Terreux is what The Bruery is branding their sour, funky, and wild line of beers. The beers are all brewed at The Bruery’s brewery, but the wort that is destined to become a Terreux beer is shipped over to the Terreux facility where it’s fermented, inoculated, barreled, etc. This keeps bacteria and bugs away from The Bruery’s “clean” (non-wild, Saccharomyces fermented) beers. Greg wrote an article about the opening of Terreux: Check it out! The beers on the show this week represent a fairly wide range of what Bruery Terreux is doing. While they’re not all hits, they represent what The Bruery and Bruery Terreux is all about: pushing the boundaries and running wild (pun intended) with creativity. BREW THE SHIT OUT OF IT. Beers from this week’s episode: Bruery Terreux – Prairie Rue Bruery Terreux – Confession (2015) Bruery Terreux – Tonnellerie Rue Bruery Terreux – Humulus Terreux Bruery Terreux – Souren Bruery Terreux – Oude Tart (2015) The Bruery – Oude Tart (2012) Bruery Terreux – Cinnamonk Direct audio: MP3 Subscribe: iTunes: Audio / Video RSS: Audio / Video Google Play Music Stitcher YouTube (Videos) Support the show: Patreon PayPal 4B Social Media: Facebook Twitter Instagram tumblr Flickr Snapchat Email 4B: feedback@fourbrewers.com 4B Theme Song: The Sleeping Sea King
