This month's pilot is brought to you by the clutches of the pandemic! It's called Valley Trash written by Niki Schwartz-Wright (The Grinder, Speechless, The Office). Valley Trash was days away from going into production when the network shut it down at the start of the Covid lockdowns in March 2020. The pilot centers on The Harmans, a scrappy, blue collar family living in the deep Valley who suddenly experience a major culture clash when their fourteen-year-old daughter, Abby, gets accepted to a prestigious LA private high school filled with students and parents who want nothing to do with her, her family or their 818 area code. Valley Trash was set up at ABC with Universal TV,  Nahnatchka Khan (Fresh Off The Boat creator), and 20th Century Fox TV attached to produce. Jason Lee was also attached to star before the project was shut down. I just caught up with Award Winning and very talented actor, Matt Hamilton. Matt will be in the new Disney+ reboot of the classic 1989 comedy feature with Tom Hanks, Turner & Hooch as Trent Havelock, a Senior Deputy Marshal to Scott Turner (played by Josh Peck). The only thing "Trent" loves more, is to chase down bad guys and take all the credit, especially publicly He loves the attention, fame, glory and everything that comes with it, but the one thing he isn't a fan of is, dogs. Turner & Hooch is an hour long 12 episode order centered around "Scott Turner," his new surroundings and the new dog he inherits as a big unruly dog. He soon realized the dog he didn't want might be the partner he actually needs. Turner and Hooch not only stars Matt, along side Josh Peck, Lyndy Fonseca, Carra Petterson, Anthony Ruivivar, to name a few. The series hails from writer/executive producer Matt Nix from Burn Notice and Disney-owned Studio 20th Century Fox TV. Turner & Hooch is set to premiere July 16th, 2021. Matt was a 2019 Leo Award Winner for Best Male Performance in The Actress Diaries, a 2018 Best Male Performance Nominee at the International Academy of Web Television and a 2015 Leo Award Best Actor Nominee for also, The Actress Diaries. Did you ever wonder what the relationship between the stars and the writers of a hit sitcom is like? Go behind the scenes with Modern Family’s Ty Burrell and writer/exec producer Bill Wrubel  With a range of performances across television, film, and theater, award winner Ty Burrell continues to proves himself as one of the finest and most versatile actors today.    Burrell starred on ABC’s critically acclaimed hit, Modern Family. Burrell's extensive Broadway and Off-Broadway theater credits include the highly acclaimed Signature Theater Off-Broadway production of Burn This opposite Edward Norton, Catherine Keener and Dallas Roberts; starring as Lord Buckingham in the Public Theater's production of Richard III opposite Peter Dinklage and directed by Peter DuBois; and starring opposite Debra Monk and Judy Greer in Paul Weitz's Show People, directed by Peter Askin at Second Stage Theater.  Burrell has been a longtime supporter of KIDS IN THE SPOTLIGHT (KITS) which trains youth in foster programs and other under-served youth to create, write, cast and star in their own 10-minute short films. This training culminates in an annual film festival where they present “Movies by Kids, for Kids.” During the 2020 COVID-19 pandemic, Burrell created the program, “Tip Your Server,” to raise money for restaurant employees in Salt Lake City, Utah who lost their jobs due to restaurant closures. However, according to both the Post and the Justice Department, Mueller made clear that he did not feel Barr's summary was inaccurate. CBP, which oversees the Border Patrol, said 424 illegal aliens were apprehended just after midnight in Sunland Park, N.M.; an additional 230 illegal aliens were apprehended in Antelope Wells, N.M., around 2 a.m. “This is an ongoing situation that U.S Border Patrol agents are facing in southern New Mexico: Hundreds of parents and children being encountered by agents after having faced a dangerous journey in the hands of unscrupulous smugglers,” CBP said in a statement. Border officials said they were struggling to cope with the influx of Central American families, with Border Patrol apprehending a record-setting 53,000 families in March. 'Mayor Pete's' stance on vaccinations draws criticism South Bend, Ind., mayor and 2020 Democratic presidential candidate Pete Buttigieg is drawing some backlash for his stance on mandatory vaccinations. BuzzFeed reported that Buttigieg supports states' rights to mandate vaccinations, but also supports "some exceptions." "The law of the land for more than a century has been that states may enforce mandatory vaccination for public safety to prevent the spread of a dangerous disease. Pete does support some exceptions, except during a public health emergency to prevent an outbreak," a spokesman for Buttigieg told BuzzFeed. The 37-year-old progressive listed personal/religious exemptions, but reiterated that there must be "no public health crisis" for the exemptions to be honored. Smollett-less 'Empire' Fox Entertainment’s hit show “Empire” was officially picked up for a sixth season -- but without one of its controversial mainstays, Jussie Smollett. “By mutual agreement, the studio has negotiated an extension to Jussie Smollett’s option for season six, but at this time there are no plans for the character of Jamal to return to ‘Empire,’” Fox Entertainment and 20th Century Fox TV said in a statement to Fox News on Tuesday. Smollett's spokesperson said the actor was grateful to Fox for keeping the future of his character Jamal open and was grateful to the cast, crew and leadership of "Empire" for their unwavering support. Smollett faces a lawsuit from the city of Chicago after prosecutors dropped 16 felony disorderly conduct charges against him for his alleged role in a hate-crime hoax scandal.

Kevin is a man who has been called the ‘Keeper of the flame’, maybe I should just say the Keeper…of all things Irwin Allen, AS WELL AS an executive producer & creator of the new Netflix Lost in Space series, which premiered on 13th of April 2018. He’s joining us today to share his lifelong LOVE of the ORIGINAL series and of course talk about the new reboot. KEVIN'S BIO: Kevin grew up in upstate NY & by the time was Will Robinson’s age, he was already a Big Fan of LIS, watching it during its first run broadcast. That started him on a journey that would result in personal friendships with the cast members of the original series, as well as Sheila Allen, Irwin’s widow & ultimately culminate in this beautiful new Netflix LIS series. Along the way, he maintained his love of the series during his college years in New York & Boston, his teaching career at Boston University & his later move to LA where he landed a marketing & promotions job at 20th Century Fox TV. Later Kevin established several Hollywood production companies, was nominated for numerous Emmy Awards, won two including one for the superb A&E series Biography. He was also writer, producer or director on many highly acclaimed documentaries, including Empire of Dreams the story of the Star Wars trilogy, Indiana Jones the Ultimate Quest, The Fantasy Worlds of Irwin Allen, Lost in Space Forever & many, many more…Indeed, Kevin is directly responsible for hundreds of hours of television across a wide range of subjects, but the franchise that hold first place in his heart is the subject of this humble podcast Lost in Space. QUAN PHUNG is the president of scripted television at slingshot global media, a new independent TV studio based in Los Angeles that develops, produces, finances, and distributes premium scripted content on linear and digital platforms throughout the world. Phung is a veteran TV producer and studio/TV executive who prior to coming aboard slingshot, held various creative roles at bluegrass television (Whitney/Ted), 20th Century Fox TV, Fox Broadcasting Company, and NBC. Among the series he developed are the Emmy award winning shows “House,” “How I Met Your Mother,” and “Arrested Development.”

Michael Swan started in local theater and was part of an improvisational company in the late 70's known as The Illegitimate Theater. He moved to Los Angeles and worked as a wine consultant at Wally's Liquors in Westwood. Still pursing an acting career, he studied with David Alexander, a teacher and mentor to actors like Jack Lemmon, Walter Matthau and Ross Martin. Swan landed two recurring roles at MGM Television on Bronk with Jack Palance and Medical Center with Chad Everett. He appeared in over 100 shows for MGM, Universal, Spelling, Cannell, Columbia Pictures Television, Warner Bros. Television and 20th Century Fox TV throughout the 70's and 80's. In 1986, Swan landed a contract role on As the World Turns, playing Scottish adventurer Duncan McKechnie for 10 years. In 1998, Swan joined a second soap opera, The Bold and the Beautiful where he played the role of Adam Alexander, the long-lost ex-husband of Sally Spectra. He appeared as a contract player in 1998 and 1999, and made guest appearances in 2001, 2002 and 2003. After his soap appearances, Swan has starred in several films by director Roger Corman, and has also done commercial work, both in on-camera appearances and in voice-over work. Michael joins Take 2 Radio on Wednesday, Jan. 15th at 7pm eastern time.
