Ironheart is a new miniseries from Marvel Television. It is the 28th (not a typo) TV series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and it concludes Phase Five of the MCU after six movies and eight series. Ironheart is set about six months after the events of Black Panther: Wakanda Forever, which came out in 2022, but which is set in the spring of 2025 — which sets this show in our future, around the fall of 2025. It is the first Marvel product that The Nose has covered since Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3, more than two years ago. And: The New York Times has published its list of “The 100 Best Movies of the 21st Century” as selected by more than 500 influential figures in and around the film industry. And on July 2, the Times published a follow-up list of the top 500 movies of the century* as submitted by its readers. The Nose participated, and it has thoughts about the whole thing. *I feel like I have to mention here that the Times is calling these lists the best of the “21st century” and that movies were eligible if they were released in the U.S. on or after January 1, 2000. The 21st century started on January 1, 2001. I’m sorry to bring it up. I don’t make the rules or, ya know, decide how counting works. All six episodes of Ironheart, the latest Marvel Television series, are now streaming on Disney+. This show has been LONG DELAYED from its initially planned 2023 release (I believe), and it finished initial shooting almost three years ago. The craziest part of all this is that Ryan Coogler is one of the EPs on the series. He introduced the character into the MCU in Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. I started off being pretty excited for this show because of the initial pitch and because I was a fan of the initial Bendis comics that introduced this character in the 2010s. But, my excitement completely waned over the delays and lack of marketing, which clearly showed Marvel's lack of enthusiasm for the show. Marvel (and their TV side especially) having their mixed track record during The Multiverse Saga did not help matters. So, is Ironheart the epic win that Marvel TV needs? Find out in this SPOILER review!
This is our interview with Ironheart Head Writer and Executive Producer Chinaka Hodge, and Executive Producer Ryan Coogler. The big new original series hitting Disney+ this month is Marvel's "Ironheart", which is set after the events of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Marvel Television's “Ironheart” pits technology against magic when Riri Williams, determined to make her mark on the world, returns to her hometown of Chicago. Her unique take on building iron suits is brilliant, but in pursuit of her ambitions, she finds herself wrapped up with the mysterious yet charming Parker Robbins, aka “The Hood”. Recently, I got to speak with the show's composer, Dara Taylor about how she went about creating the score for "Ironheart", which follows teen genius Riri Williams as she builds her own advanced armor and navigates grief, identity, and legacy, themes that Dara's music explores with striking depth and texture. Her score fuses distorted synths, trap percussion, and orchestral layers into a genre-bending sound that mirrors Riri's internal and external battles. One of the most moving elements: a real voicemail from Dara's late father as inspiration for the score, underscoring the show's emotional weight and Riri's connection to her own sense of loss. Dara is known for music that centres character and emotion, no matter the genre. She recently scored Universal's R-rated comedy "Strays", as well as the hit horror-thriller "The Invitation" and George Clooney's coming-of-age film "The Tender Bar". From irreverent comedy to supernatural horror to grounded drama, Dara brings a nuanced and contemporary voice to every project, and "Ironheart" is her most ambitious and personal work to date. The first three episodes of "Ironheart" are available to stream on Disney+ now, and the final three episodes of the show will be released on Disney+ on July 1st 2025. The soundtrack is also available to stream on digital platforms now. #DisneyPlus VISIT ONLINE - http://www.WhatsOnDisneyPlus.com If you enjoy our content, please consider supporting it via our Patreon or as a YouTube Channel Membership from as little as $2 a month and get access to exclusive content and much more.

Welcome to Multiverse News, Your source for Information about all your favorite fictional universesIt's a big week for Marvel news! First up, Jon Bernthal has joined the cast of Spider-Man: Brand New Day, as his take on The Punisher makes the transition from Marvel Television to the big screen. He joins newcomer Sadie Sink, alongside Zendaya and Jacob Batalon who were also confirmed to be returning as MJ and Ned, respectively. Elsewhere, on Wednesday Disney announced that Marvel Studios is scheduled to release an untitled film slated for December 15, 2028, which if holds true, would be the studio's fourth theatrical offering for that year. In Variety's article on said possible fourth 2028 Marvel Studios film, the writer suggested that Thunderbolts* director Jake Schreier has gone from being in talks, to officially tapped as the director for the upcoming X-Men film. Fresh details on the recently cast Clayface film from DC Studios co-head James Gunn said the film would be R-rated during his appearance on the DC Studios Showcase Official Podcast. "It's just a great horror movie that is a great, smart, fun horror movie which is in a genre that I happen to love, which is body horror," he said; continuing with, "It's rated R… It's not anything now because the MPA has to watch it, but it's most likely rated R. It's pretty intense." In other DCU news, box office tracking for Superman via the National Research Group (NRG) has the film projected to open between $125 and $145 million domestically, with more conservative estimates ranging between $90 and $125 million. The fledgling DCU certainly seems to be living up to its Gods and Monsters thematic moniker. It was a story of highs and lows at the box office this weekend, with the newcomers 28 Years Later and Pixar's Elio unable to dethrone Dreamworks' live action How To Train Your Dragon remake, which passed $358 million at the global box office in just two weeks. Although both new films bowed to the reigning champ, the narrative is far more devastating for Pixar and Elio; despite positive critical reviews, the celebrated animation studio's latest feature struggled to muster even a meager $35 million globally; a record low and troubling sign concerning the performance, or lack thereof, for original films at Pixar. Danny Boyles' legacy horror sequel 28 Years Later fared far better, debuting to $30 million both domestically and internationally, for a $60 million total haulMarvel Comics has announced Spider-Man '94, a four issue limited comic run that will close the cliffhanger left by Spider-Man The Animated Series from its final episode in 1998. The series is written by long-time Spidey veteran and a writer on the original animated series, J.M. DeMatteis, with art by Jim Towe. Russell Crowe is boarding at Amazon MGM Studios and United Artists' Highlander in the Ramirez mentor role made famous by Sean Connery in the original 1986 movie. He joins Henry Cavill who is playing the lead role. AMC has released a teaser trailer for season 3 of Walking Dead spin off Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon and announced that the series will premiere on September 7. James Bobin, director of The Muppets, is in talks to helm Netflix's Dragon's Lair, based on the classic 1980s arcade game, per The Hollywood Reporter. Ryan Reynolds, originally set to star, but no longer, is producing alongside Roy Lee, Trevor Engelson, and game creators Don Bluth, Gary Goldman, and Jon Pomeroy.Warner Bros. Pictures has released a new trailer for ‘Weapons' written and directed by Zach Cregger which offers more eerie footage from the film. It's a big week for fans of Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding franchise; Death Stranding 2: On the Beach releases this week on June 26, for the Playstation 5 exclusively. Kojima Productions also announced an animated feature film being written by Raised by Wolves‘ Aaron Guzikowski; this is in addition to the previously announced live action Death Stranding film adaptation in development.
Television miniseries created by Chinaka Hodge for the streaming service Disney+, based on the Marvel Comics character of the same name. It is intended to be the 14th television series in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) produced by Marvel Studios, via its Marvel Television label, alongside Proximity Media. The series shares continuity with the films of the franchise. It sees MIT student Riri Williams return home to Chicago, following the events of the film Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), where she discovers secrets that pit technology against magic. We unpack our mixed reactions to this six-episode series that brings emotional depth, standout performances—especially from Dominique Thorne—and some compelling ideas around grief and identity. Editors - Cedric Nairn-Smith, Melissa Lawson Cheung and Stephanie Filo ACE DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN editors Cedric, Melissa and Stephanie open up about their experiences and the unique challenges they faced while working to bring back Matt Murdock and his crime fighting alter ego under the Marvel Television banner. Assembling this team of super editors happened through various means. Stephanie credits her introduction to Marvel through a mentor, while Melissa explains how her work in Marvel's SECRET INVASION showcased her skills in creating grounded action sequences, helping to streamline both budgets and timelines. MOON KNIGHT veteran Cedric, on the other hand, found his way to the series through fortuitous timing during a project lull. DAREDEVIL BORN AGAIN begins several years after the events of the Netflix-hosted DAREDEVIL (2015–2018) and a year after blind lawyer Matt Murdock stopped his activities as the masked vigilante Daredevil. In the new series, Murdock continues his fight for justice as a lawyer while former crime boss Wilson Fisk is elected mayor of New York City, putting the pair on a collision course. CEDRIC NAIRN-SMITH In addition to his work on DAREDEVIL: BORN AGAIN, Cedric is known for his work as an editor on; MOON KNIGHT (2022), LISEY'S STORY (2021), THE BOYS (2019-2020) and BATES MOTEL (2015-2017).
