A full-on showdown between the Trump administration and the out-of-control federal courts. It has gotten clearer by the day that a conspiracy of biased federal judges and left-wing nonprofits with teams of white-shoe lawyers has been operating to cripple the executive branch of government. The unprecedented use of judicial orders to hamstring and micromanage President Donald Trump's exercise of presidential power has created a constitutional crisis — amounting to a coup d'etat by unelected judges. Try to imagine if GOP-appointed judges had conspired to kneecap Barack Obama while he was in office. The nation would have been treated to earsplitting banshee cries of “racism,” judicial impeachment hearings, and well-funded riots in blue cities. Don't believe me? Remember the threats by members of Congress against Supreme Court justices when the decision overturning Roe v. Wade got leaked? (By whom, we'll never know). Think of the protests outside conservative justices' homes, and the near-miss assassination attempt on Justice Brett Kavanaugh. The Democrats tried to pack the court with new, preprogrammed leftist justices and talked about imposing term limits on SCOTUS. None on the left were warbling about the sanctity of “judicial independence” and “the rule of law” then. They only believe in the System when they can game it, like some bratty child demanding “do-overs” whenever he strikes out at bat. No One's Above the Law Democrats were chanting “No one's above the law” when they invented fake crimes to try to imprison Donald Trump in New York, an effort led by Chief Justice John Roberts' crony Norm Eisen. The same Democrats are now suffering conniption fits as Attorney General Pam Bondi takes action against judges who committed genuine offenses. Let's look at the first two arrests, and pray that more follow wherever judges are flouting the law and undermining our democracy. CNBC reports: Federal authorities have arrested a Wisconsin judge and a former New Mexico judge in two separate cases, accusing them of interfering with Trump administration immigration enforcement efforts. Milwaukee Circuit Court Judge Hannah Dugan was arrested Friday morning and charged with obstruction. She is accused of helping an undocumented immigrant evade arrest by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers after he appeared in her courtroom April 18. Dugan's arrest came one day after federal authorities arrested a former New Mexico judge, Joel Cano, and his wife on charges related to the Canos' reported harboring of an undocumented immigrant with alleged ties to the notorious gang Tren de Aragua. It's hard to decide which of these arrests is more satisfying. Before she became a judge who would help smuggle illegal aliens out of her courtroom to evade arrest by ICE, Dugan was formerly the executive director of Catholic Charities of southeastern Wisconsin. As The Stream has reported, that particular wealthy, taxpayer-funded nonprofit has been credibly accused of colluding with Mexican cartels to traffic immigrants into the country. Elon Musk's DOGE investigations have largely cut off government funds to Catholic Charities, which served as the main conduit for some $3 billion sluiced into the U.S. Catholic bishops' coffers over the past 15 years — reimbursing them, almost dollar for dollar, for sex-abuse settlements those bishops racked up. Fool around, find out, indeed. Next there's the case of former judge Joel Cano, who was keeping an accused Tren de Aragua gang member at his house. Feast your eyes on this servant of the court and the rescue gangster he adopted: On Fox News Pam Bondi explained just how far Cano had gone to help Lopez evade prosecution: He took one of the TDA members' cellphones, beat it with a hammer, and destroyed it. Then he walked the pieces to a city dumpster to dispose of them to protect himself. … The judge and his wife gave [Lopez] assault rifles that belonged to their daughter. He goes to the shooting range with these assault rifles, with a suppressor, with other known TDA members, and they are shooting. This is the LAST person we want in our country. Nor will we ever tolerate a judge or anyone else harboring them. The Biden regime intentionally engineered this perfect storm of lawlessness by refusing to enforce our just, democratically enacted immigration laws. The 10 million-plus illegals Biden imported are counted toward congressional representation, providing the Democrats with 20 seats in the House of Representatives they otherwise wouldn't hold, as Musk has estimated. And as we reported Friday, leftist judges are making it easy for those illegal aliens to vote in federal elections by striking down Trump's executive order requiring proof of citizenship. When faced with such orchestrated chaos, the Trump administration has no choice but to take drastic action to reimpose order and the genuine rule of law. Faster, please. Trump Meets Zelensky at Impromptu Summit at Pope Francis's Funeral The petulant, demanding president of Ukraine, Volodomyr Zelenksyy, has been frustrating Donald Trump's peace-making efforts, making impossible demands such as the return of Crimea — which Russia seized in 2014, with hardly a protest from the Obama administration and no organized resistance by Ukraine. Secretary of State Marco Rubio expressed the Trump team's impatience last week, threatening to walk away from talks altogether. It's good to see that communications are still open, as evidenced by this hastily arranged meeting of Trump with Zelenskyy and French President Emanuel Macron at St. Peter's Basilica, which will host the funeral of Pope Francis. Pray for an end to the futile, fratricidal conflict the Biden administration's bungling help to spark, which has claimed more than a million casualties from two historically Christian countries. Our Diversity Is Our … Strength? Our out-of-control borders haven't just been flooding the country with foreign gang members and high school dropouts who compete with our least privileged fellow citizens for jobs. We're also importing aggressive, intolerant Islam — the religion that's fueling terrorism and the persecution of Christians all across the world. Take a look at this little video, which shows how Dallas, Texas, is being islamicized. The First Amendment was written to prevent intra-Christian conflict and religious persecution. The Founders never intended it as a charter for the mass influx of religions entirely alien to our traditions. That's just one more reason to drastically and permanently reduce mass immigration into America. Along The Stream… Could authentic prophetic dreams expose false prophecies and prophets? No Need to Prove Citizenship to Vote By John Zmirak Published on April 25, 2025 John Zmirak If you want Exhibit #108 proving that President Donald Trump has no choice but to defy judicial orders from lawless, biased jurists, check out the latest. The Daily Wire reports: A federal judge on Thursday blocked President Donald Trump from implementing an executive order that requires voters to show documentation proving their U.S. citizenship to cast a ballot in federal elections. U.S. District Judge Colleen Kollar-Kotelly, a Bill Clinton appointee, granted a preliminary injunction stopping the Trump administration from going forward with the proof-of-citizenship requirements as a lawsuit plays out, the Associated Press reported. The lawsuit, filed by the Democratic National Committee and leftist voting rights groups, claims that Trump's order is “an unlawful action that threatens to uproot our tried-and-tested election systems and silence potentially millions of Americans.” … The judge's move means that yet another Trump action will be tied up in the courts and prevented from taking effect. Federal judges have blocked numerous Trump orders, including on cuts to federal agency staff, deportations, and birthright citizenship. As of Thursday, 108 different rulings have blocked or temporarily frozen Trump's attempts to carry out his agenda, according to The New York Times. There you go. The Democratic National Committee wants non-citizens voting. Or else it thinks that its voters are so clueless and unqualified that they don't have any ID. No drivers licenses, nothing they'd need to show in order to cash a check at a local bank. Check out this classic 2017 video whose host asks white liberals whether non-white Americans carry ID … then asks a series of non-white Americans whether they do. “Why would they think we don't have ID?” one of the questioners asks the host. He doesn't answer. He doesn't have to. Now consider what motive the Biden administration had for importing more than 10 million illegal aliens and sending them to swing states. Foreign Voters and Foreign Money Help the Left Grab Power While some in MAGA world are frustrated at the Trump administration's pace of progress, one man can only do so much. He is taking aim at some of the most important targets, the key players in corrupting American politics. He's going after Act Blue, for instance, as Politico reports: In a shot at ActBlue, the left's major online donation platform, President Donald Trump plans to sign a presidential memorandum on Thursday that he will cast as cracking down on foreign contributions in American elections, according to a person familiar with the policy and granted anonymity to discuss not-yet-public details. Attorney General Pam Bondi's office is expected to be involved in the effort, the person said. The order is expected to specifically target ActBlue. Republicans have long claimed the platform could be exploited by foreign actors, while Democrats have warned the action is an example of Trump baselessly targeting political opponents. … The memo will direct Bondi to “investigate and take appropriate action concerning allegations regarding the use of online fundraising platforms to make ‘straw' or ‘dummy' contributions and to make foreign contributions to U.S. political candidates and committees, all of which break the law” and report results to the president and his general counsel, according to the fact sheet. Why shouldn't foreign billionaires and hostile governments be able to pour billions into U.S. elections and organize non-citizen voters to decide who represents us? That would imply we make distinctions between countrymen and strangers, which the editors of Christianity Today (some of them donors to groups aligned with Act Blue) reliably inform us is alien to “gospel values.” Speaking of funny money, Ashley Biden's nonprofit is having trouble with the IRS. That's what happens when you don't report honestly. The Free Beacon has the real story: Ashley Biden's charity has a $500,000 discrepancy in its books, a watchdog alleged in a complaint filed with the IRS on Monday. … To Paul Kamenar, an attorney with the National Legal and Policy Center watchdog group, the documents show that Ashley Biden's charity clearly violated IRS rules by failing to disclose $500,000 in contributions it received in 2023. Let's remember the immortal words of now-embattled New York Attorney General Letitia James: “No one is above the law.” Abortion Clinic Targets Children for Sexual Grooming Remember the old libertarian talking point about “keeping the government out of our bedrooms”? Now we realize the government and the LGBTQ movement need to be kept out of the nursery, too. See the latest outrage, courtesy of Libs of TikTok: The State cannot sit neutral. It can't reach a stopping point at “consenting adults,” the way Classical liberals pretend. Either the government will make laws based on the Natural Law which God wrote on the human heart — which you don't need faith or grace to understand — or it will base laws on something darker and falser. It took the rise of Christianity in the Roman Empire to rescue women and children from sexual slavery. As the Gospel recedes from people's hearts, the vacuum it leaves will be filled, and filled by spirits. The explosion of transgender madness, child castration, and attacks on Christians as “unfit parents” in the wake of the 2015 Obergefell decision shouldn't surprise us; it should goad us to counterattack with the truth. The Next Pope? I'm not following the conclave that's gathering to elect a successor to the disloyal Pope Francis, largely because the people he appointed to the College of Cardinals transformed that body into a lavender Jacuzzi. One of Francis's appointees, Filipino Cardinal Luis Antonio Tagle, is considered a frontrunner among “progressives” who wish to continue transforming the Catholic Church into the chaplaincy of the World Economic Forum. Here he is performing John Lennon's utopian, atheist anthem “Imagine” for a crowd that we can hope was duly puzzled by it. Imagine Pope Francis II. (It's easy if you try.) Catholics don't believe that God picks the popes — otherwise, we'd have to explain why during the Renaissance He always picked the cardinals who'd paid the biggest bribes or were the illegitimate children of previous popes. We just have to pray for Jesus to protect us from our shepherds, who seem to have developed a taste for lamb. Coming Soon: A New Ice Age to Save the Climate Gateway Pundit reports: The British government is reportedly just weeks away from approving bizarre experiments aimed at dimming sunlight in a bid to combat so-called climate change. Proposed outdoor trials may involve spraying aerosols into the upper atmosphere or artificially brightening clouds to bounce sunlight back into space in order to help cool the earth. … The experiments are being pushed under the premise that humanity isn't cutting emissions quickly enough to avoid an environmental apocalypse, at least, according to scientists still clinging to worst-case climate scenarios. Scientists backing the proposals believe that, if the tests yield promising results, the techniques could be expanded and rolled out on a wider scale within a decade. These people want to control the weather, to make the earth less fertile so it can feed far fewer people. But remember that the threat to our freedoms and our future are … conservatives and Christians. Garth Heckman TDAgiantSlayer@gmail.com The David Alliance While it's impossible to definitively rank arguments against Christianity in a universally agreed-upon "top 10," here are some of the most common and significant criticisms raised against it, categorized for clarity: I. Issues of Reason and Evidence: * Lack of Empirical Evidence: Critics argue that many core tenets of Christianity, such as the existence of God, miracles, the resurrection of Jesus, and the efficacy of prayer, lack sufficient empirical or scientific evidence to support them. They contend that faith-based belief is not a reliable path to truth. * Example: The claim that Jesus walked on water contradicts known laws of physics and lacks verifiable evidence. * Internal Inconsistencies and Contradictions in the Bible: Skeptics point to numerous passages in the Bible that appear to contradict each other or present conflicting accounts of events, raising questions about its divine inspiration and reliability. * Example: Different accounts of the same historical event in the Old Testament or variations in the Gospels' narratives of Jesus' life. * Unfulfilled Prophecies: Some argue that specific prophecies within the Old Testament and New Testament have not come to pass, undermining the claim that the Bible is divinely inspired or accurately predicts the future. * Example: Specific Old Testament prophecies regarding the Messiah that some argue were not fulfilled by Jesus. II. Philosophical and Ethical Challenges: * The Problem of Evil: The existence of suffering, injustice, and natural disasters in the world is a significant challenge to the concept of an omnipotent, omniscient, and omnibenevolent God. Critics question how such a God could allow widespread suffering. * Example: The suffering of innocent children or the devastation caused by natural disasters. * Divine Hiddenness: The apparent lack of clear and unambiguous evidence for God's existence leads some to argue that if God truly wanted humanity to believe, God would make their existence more obvious. * Moral Issues in the Bible and Christian History: Critics point to instances of violence, genocide, oppression, and intolerance within the Old Testament and throughout Christian history as evidence of moral failings, questioning the claim that Christianity is a source of absolute morality. * Example: The conquest of Canaan in the Old Testament or the historical persecution of heretics and non-believers. * The Concept of Hell and Eternal Damnation: The idea that individuals who do not accept Jesus as their savior will face eternal torment is seen by some as unjust and incompatible with a loving and merciful God. III. Social and Cultural Criticisms: * Historical and Contemporary Social Issues: Christianity has been criticized for its historical role in issues such as the suppression of scientific inquiry, the justification of slavery, and the oppression of women. Contemporary criticisms often focus on issues like homophobia, transphobia, and resistance to social progress. * Exclusivity and Intolerance: The Christian claim that salvation is exclusively through Jesus Christ is seen by some as arrogant and intolerant of other faiths and belief systems. * Negative Impact on Individual Autonomy and Critical Thinking: Some argue that the emphasis on faith and obedience in Christianity can discourage critical thinking, independent inquiry, and the development of individual autonomy. It's important to note that these are just some of the arguments raised against Christianity, and each argument has been the subject of extensive debate and counter-arguments from theologians and apologists. Understanding these criticisms is crucial for a comprehensive understanding of different perspectives on Christianity.

In case you haven't heard it, the piece is a highly operatic setting of the historic Catholic funeral Mass, composed by the irreligious Giuseppe Verdi to mourn the death of his closest friend. The music was exquisite, the performers were among the most talented in the world, and I was comfy in a seat in the lavish Avery Fisher Hall. But one thing set my experience apart from most of my fellow music lovers': I believed in every word the singers were delivering — even if the singers didn't and Verdi himself had not. One part of the text of the Dies Irae seems plucked from our current headlines: The section that centers on evils getting exposed, driven into the light. At the General Judgment, every sin ever committed will be unmasked for all to see — so that both God's justice and His mercy will be obvious to each soul ever created. Nature sickens with dismay, Death may not retain its prey; And before the Maker stand All the creatures of his hand. The great book shall be unfurled, Whereby God shall judge the world; What was distant shall be near, What was hidden shall be clear. We are seeing before us today in our country a faint foreshadowing of that great, world-ending exposé. The corruption, perversion, waste, and even hate that pervaded our government agencies and the institutions led by our self-selecting elites are all getting driven out into the light, thanks to the stern measures imposed by President Donald Trump. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Neither a Spirit of Fear Nor of Vengeance No, Trump isn't God, or even especially godly as far as we can tell. That bothers me for his sake, but not for ours. Constantine saved the early Church from persecution despite his personal sins, and Charles Martel saved Europe from the Muslim hordes with the bloodstained hands of a war lord. However, insofar as a legitimate earthly ruler wields the sword on God's behalf, becoming “the legitimate avenger of crimes,” a just ruler can do God's will as surely as the Church does in its own quite separate sphere. As we watch the violent antics and lawless abuses of power by the Left unfold in response to Trump's perfectly reasonable efforts to trim down the government and cease its persecution of ordinary citizens, we shouldn't be consumed with worry, afraid he will fail. Nor should we give in to a spirit of vindictiveness, taking a sadistic glee in the suffering of our enemies, however well-deserved. Instead I think we ought to treat this political moment as a little window on the end of time, when every evil is dragged kicking and screaming into the light, even our own. As we pray for this great purge of political filth to fully succeed for the benefit of our nation and our neighbors, keeping such an apocalyptic perspective will help us avoid falling into the Enemy's snares, which he scatters plentifully both on the Left and on the Right. With all of that said, let's review some of the skeletons the Trump team is tossing or driving out of our oligarchs' reeking closets. Road Ragers and Vandals Target Tesla Owners and Their “Nazi Cars” The kind of people who pride themselves on their “compassion” for illegal immigrants, sexual eccentricities, and the government of Ukraine are showing much less tolerance and charity for their fellow Americans — targeting not just people who disagree with them politically, but total strangers who happened to buy a certain brand of car. Owners of Teslas who might not have cared or even known about Elon Musk's political views are now getting menaced on highways, seeing their vehicles vandalized, and otherwise living in fear. Here's one of the worst incidents: Cowardly attacks on unattended Teslas are happening across the country, quite possibly as part of a coordinated effort along the lines of the Antifa and Black Lives Matter protests that savaged America's cities five years ago. And our chattering classes are gibbering their approval like a squadron of flying monkeys, as Joe Rogan reports: Trying to Commit Murder by Police Other violence aimed at conservatives and Christians entails the criminal abuse of police that's colloquially called “SWATting.” That entails making an anonymous call from an untraceable phone to the police, claiming that an “active shooter” is present at the home of some political enemy — then sitting back and watching the news to find out if you successfully got that person, his spouse, or his children gunned down by the cops. Who's getting subjected to such attacks? One victim was gifted Christian author Larry Taunton: Gateway Pundit reports on another potentially grim incident: InfoWars host Owen Shroyer became the latest victim of a “swatting” incident at his home in Austin, Texas in what he calls a “terrorist attack” perpetrated by leftist extremists. A fake police report claiming Shroyer had shot someone led to a full-blown armed raid on his residence, with at least a dozen officers storming his home with weapons drawn. … Shroyer pointed fingers directly at the Democrat Party, naming names and calling for federal authorities to act. “We know what's going on. The Democrat Party and all of their little street thugs — funded by Act Blue, stolen money from USAID, George Soros, and other groups — are behind it. They are behind the terror attacks against Elon Musk,” he said. Keep in mind that just two weeks ago Shroyer's colleague, Jamie White, was murdered while on assignment reporting about leftist political violence. Let's offer prayers of gratitude for the professionalism of the police who managed these incidents, and for protection of nonviolent American citizens just trying to go about their lives at a time when a spirit of savagery seems to have been let loose on our nation. Canceling Elections Our elites aren't quite at the point where they can just cancel elections and jail the conservative candidate, as recently happened in Romania (perhaps with the collusion of American Deep State conspirator Anthony Blinken, according to Diplomatic Affairs.) Our political class was blindsided by Trump's 2016 win, and responded by spraying our media with the manufactured filth of the faked Steele Dossier to push the hoax that Trump was somehow “colluding” with Vladimir Putin's Russia — a charge that led to one of the two fraudulent impeachment efforts aimed at Trump. Here's the great Natalie Winters of Bannon's War Room confronting Christopher Steele himself, and it's glorious to hear a smart conservative be permitted to speak her mind without getting interrupted or shouted down. Just watch his face go from smugness to something approaching shame as Winters holds him accountable. The Russia collusion hoax, with its associated faked prosecutions of Trump allies such as General Mike Flynn, Roger Stone, and others, effectively derailed his first term in office. The COVID panic permitted the Democrats to steal his second term in 2020. Now having failed (thanks to the efforts of shadowy patriots on whom Emerald Robinson has reported) to steal the 2024 race, our oligarchs are trying to nullify its effects via a full-scale judicial coup against the executive branch of government. Thanks to Gov. Ron DeSantis for calling this crime out and suggesting one realistic remedy: As the author of the Dies Irae, channeling sacred scripture, promised us: What was distant shall be near, What was hidden shall be clear. John Zmirak Discusses His Latest Articles- ‘Anti-Racism:' The Opiate of the Sheeple The Eric Metaxas Show John Zmirak Jan 11 2025 Other Episodes Big Bad John joins us to discuss the his recent article on the topic of January 6th ‘Anti-Racism:' The Opiate of the Sheeple By John Zmirak Published on January 6, 2025 John Zmirak I've written here before about how antiracism has mutated from a small, healthy organ that served the Body of Christ into a monstrous tumor that threatens to kill it. I've analyzed White Guilt as a self-serving status game that white would-be elitists play to outrank other white people — with zero actual regard for the dignity or lives of non-white people, much less for their immortal souls. Now I must reluctantly return to this grim subject as the cascading scandal of Pakistani rape gangs in Britain gets exposed in lurid, soul-crushing detail. Elon Musk and former British Prime Minister Liz Truss have now weighed in on this, so the British establishment knows it can't imprison everyone who complains about the estimated 250,000 native British girls who've been gang-raped and trafficked in just 10 years, disproportionately by Pakistani immigrants. “Your Daughters Are Already Whores” What drove these Muslim imports to think they were entitled to sexually enslave Christians, apart from the long Muslim tradition of sexually enslaving Christians? (By the millions, via the Muslim white slave trade that continued for centuries.) This X post explains the phenomenon in light of Pakistan's inbred, intensely patriarchal culture: These hundreds of thousands of rapes — many inflicted on minors — were committed with total impunity, with local police and Labour politicians winking at the abuse, rejecting the pleas of victims and even in some cases arresting the hapless parents who tried to rescue their daughters. How and why could this happen? It was supposedly to prevent the rise of racism and avoid helping right-wing politicians who warned — correctly — that mass Third World Muslim immigration was ruining Britain. As a Catholic, hearing that brings back nauseating memories of bishops shuffling pedophile priests from parish to parish instead of calling in the police — supposedly to avoid the danger of “scandal” harming the Church and losing souls. Of course, these leftist politicians in Britain were serving their own religious cause: the post-Civil Rights movement cult of Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion. That infernal trinity, a three-headed golden calf, is now the idol worshiped by elites throughout the West. Those who refuse to prostrate themselves before this fetish face all the force of a secular inquisition. Britons are now sitting in prison cells for mildly complaining about immigration policy — cells which, not coincidentally, have been emptied of rapists and other assailants to make room for political dissidents. Should We Tell “Noble” Lies? This is happening right now in Britain — the nation that gave us the Magna Carta, parliaments, Common Law, and trial by jury. I was sickened even further when one of my favorite living writers, historian Tom Holland, doubled down on his comment from 10 years ago (before his conversion to Christianity): How noble is a goal that rests on secrecy and lies? Was it noble for Catholic bishops to protect the good name of the priesthood at the price of altar boys who were molested and damaged for life? Why is it any more noble than that to save the good name of deeply dysfunctional foreign communities that are infamous for child marriages and “honor killings”? If Pakistani culture really does accept such practices, it richly deserves contempt — and mass deportations to follow. The bishops who covered up for pedophile priests have been mostly disgraced for it now. They paid out some $3 billion in damages in the U.S. alone (though they made all that money back, dollar for dollar, trafficking immigrants via their taxpayer-funded nonprofits such as Catholic Charities). Will the vast, almost unthinkable scale of child rape in Britain discredit its authoritarian, censorship-happy Labour government and the mute, useless Tory party that only expanded immigration, as if to punish its voters? If We Don't Fight, the Pagans Will It's hard to say. You can't beat something with nothing, and antiracism remains the established church of most of the West. Maybe like the Aztec cult it can go on demanding human sacrifices for centuries because there is no live alternative. Christian churches that have dethroned Jesus Christ and replaced Him with canonized victims such as George Floyd won't fill the void. They're not even really Christian, except as cargo cults that use the borrowed imagery and symbols of a religion they've become at once too primitive and decadent to understand. If the Church won't provide an alternative to civilizational suicide, enraged neopagans will. Instead of shaping fetishes out of non-whites, they'll make whiteness an idol. The result will be ugly and violent, and the pasty-faced churchmen who willingly lived by lies will watch it all helplessly from their fainting couches, without even the decency to despise themselves for causing it. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Tom Holland, of all people, should know better. His brilliant book Dominion showed how Western notions of equality, fairness, and tolerance all emerged from the Gospel, not Greece or Rome. He even acknowledged that the woke movement was Christianity's illegitimate child. But he's too comfortably ensconced in British intellectual circles to recognize that this post-Christian bastard is trying to murder its father. And, frankly, he lives in a nice, safe neighborhood where no Pakistani gangs are likely to abduct and gang rape his children. Perhaps every British academic and politician should be forcibly relocated to more “diverse” parts of the country. Let's see how long it takes them to start sending checks to Tommy Robinson. Rene Girard, in his books such as I See Satan Fall Like Lightning, warned that the post-Christian substitute religion of Victimism is actually crueler, more perverse, and more opposed to the Gospel than any ancient pagan religion. It's also so frankly absurd and suicidal that it will burn out and destroy itself. But how many real victims, including young women with scars and trauma, will it claim before it collapses? It is a message increasingly echoed from the nation's pulpits, presented as common-sense decency and virtue. Calls for “radical non-violence” are routinely endowed with the imprimatur of religious doctrine. But what if such teachings were misguided, even damaging? What if the potential of a citizenry to exercise force against violent criminals and tyrannical governments is not just compatible with church teaching, but flows from the very heart of Biblical faith and reason? What if the freedoms we treasure are intimately tied to the power to resist violent coercion? This is the long-overdue case John Zmirak makes with stunning clarity and conviction in No Second Amendment, No First. A Yale-educated journalist and former college professor, Zmirak shows how the right of self-defense against authoritarian government was affirmed in both the Old and New Testaments, is implied in Natural Law, and has been part of Church tradition over the centuries. THE DANGERS OF COMPROMISE. The Montyman and Roger explore the theme of compromise within the faith community and its implications for individuals in recovery. They reflect on the dangers of compromising one's values and beliefs, drawing on historical insights from Paul Harvey's 1965 commentary, 'If I Were the Devil.' The discussion emphasizes the spiritual battle against compromise, the importance of adhering to foundational truths, and the need for individuals to recognize the consequences of their choices. The episode concludes with a call to action for listeners to evaluate their own lives and the compromises they may be making. A discussion with Brett Hall (https://vmasrani.github.io/blog/2023/predicting-human-behaviour/) Quotes 0.2: Do you hate libertarianism? No. To many people, libertarianism is a reaction against an over-regulated society, and an attempt to spread the word that some seemingly intractable problems can be solved by a hands-off approach. Many libertarians have made excellent arguments for why certain libertarian policies are the best options, and I agree with many of them. I think this kind of libertarianism is a valuable strain of political thought that deserves more attention, and I have no quarrel whatsoever with it and find myself leaning more and more in that direction myself. However, there's a certain more aggressive, very American strain of libertarianism with which I do have a quarrel. This is the strain which, rather than analyzing specific policies and often deciding a more laissez-faire approach is best, starts with the tenet that government can do no right and private industry can do no wrong and uses this faith in place of more careful analysis. This faction is not averse to discussing politics, but tends to trot out the same few arguments about why less regulation has to be better. I wish I could blame this all on Ayn Rand, but a lot of it seems to come from people who have never heard of her. I suppose I could just add it to the bottom of the list of things I blame Reagan for. - https://slatestarcodex.com/2017/02/22/repost-the-non-libertarian-faq/ Socials Follow us on Twitter at @IncrementsPod, @BennyChugg, @VadenMasrani Come join our discord server! He is co-author with Jason Jones of “God, Guns, & the Government.” John Zmirak's Latest Article- Texas Gov. Greg Abbott Stands Firm Against Federal Lawlessness, Foreign Invasion By JOHN ZMIRAK Published on January 25, 2024 John Zmirak Unless you live inside an unlit cave deep below the Ural Mountains, you know about the confrontation now between our lawless federal government and the state of Texas over the border. The federal branch of government under Biden has been simply refusing for three years to enforce our binding, democratically enacted immigration laws. Let that sink in for a moment. Imagine if for four years Donald Trump had simply refused to enforce our civil rights laws. Or declined to prosecute financial fraud. Or arbitrarily suspended the enforcement of any other key federal function, for blatantly political reasons. Our Lawless Executive Branch Make no mistake, Biden is refusing to control immigration as our laws require him to. He has directed federal authorities to pretend that every “refugee” claim, however far-fetched, must be taken at face value, and illegal immigrants released on their own recognizance. And flown at taxpayer expense wherever they like in the U.S. And allowed on those planes without any ID. Democrat governors and mayors are closing schools, renting out luxury hotels, and even asking citizens to welcome this wave of mostly unvetted military-age young men into their homes. The governor of California is providing these invaders free healthcare — in a state where millions of citizens scramble for coverage or go without. Most recently, the Biden regime has taken to cutting the razor wire that the Texas National Guard is using to try to control the massive influx of foreigners, organized in caravans by malevolent human traffickers ranging from cartels and Soros non-profits to “Catholic Charities.” The Globalists on Our Court The U.S. Supreme Court, with the vote of two GOP appointees, John Roberts and Amy Barrett, just voted to back up Biden. I have to wonder whether these two judges, whose sterling Catholic credentials were a big part of what got them picked, are channeling Pope Francis' open borders globalism. As I wrote before Trump picked her, Barrett actually said in a legal paper that Catholic judges should obey the pope rather than the Constitution. I asked whether she'd obey Pope Francis on immigration. I hope this isn't her final answer. Barrett deserves to get an earful from all those conservatives who fought to get her confirmed. Or at least explain herself. Texas Governor Greg Abbott has perhaps redeemed himself in the eyes of Texas conservatives — after years of seeming more like a weathervane than a lighthouse — by standing up to Biden in a bold, uncompromising fashion. For the first time since Pat Buchanan's 2000 run for president, a politician has written something which I find I couldn't improve on. Abbott's response to the Supreme Court's lawless decision will end up in history books. I beg you to read it below. Thank You, Ken Paxton In the wake of this statement, as Joseph Farah noted: Rep. Chip Roy, R-Tex, called on Texas officials to ignore the Supreme Court ruling. “They have a duty under the Constitution … and every other norm of leadership of any sovereign state, to protect your citizens, period, full stop. There is no exception to that,” Roy told Fox News Digital on Tuesday. “And if the Supreme Court wants to ignore that truth, which a slim majority did, Texas still had the duty, Texas leaders still have the duty, to defend their people.” I congratulate Gov. Abbott for having the courage to issue this statement. It's eloquent, principled, and constitutionally correct. To my eyes, it has Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton's fingerprints all over it. It has the same rigorous logic, the same stark eloquence, as his brief challenging the 2020 election fraud. And that brings back home to me how important it was to defeat the Bush machine, which tried every means to keep him out of office, and then kick him out office once he'd been overwhelmingly elected via a politicized and baseless impeachment effort. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Can you imagine where Texas would be right now, in the face of this current invasion enabled by the lawless feds, if our AG were the hapless dilettante George P. Bush, who challenged Paxton in the primaries? Or if it were the functionary picked as his replacement by the RINOs in the Texas legislature who engineered Paxton's discredited impeachment? You Only Need One Joan of Arc History turns sometimes on the aim of a single marksman, the wakefulness of one sentry standing at the gate, or the courage of a single person who loves his country more than convenience. Those Texans who stood up for Ken Paxton deserve some of the credit for what's happening right now: One state is defying the anti-American crooks who schemed their way into power, who now are dissolving our country. And I couldn't be prouder now to be no longer a New Yorker, but a Texan. We need to reject the surrender proposed by a different Texan, squish Establishment Senator John Cornyn. For his whole term in office, he has opposed real border control, and right now he's backing an appalling “bipartisan” immigration deal in the Senate that would essentially baptize Biden's open-borders policy, and give it the backing of law. It would also give Biden a way out of the confrontation he chose between the federal government and our state. Here's what Texas' worthwhile senator, Ted Cruz, has to say about that deal: Speaker Mike Johnson could win back all the goodwill he lost in his budgetary surrenders by doing one simple thing: Refusing to put that craven surrender up for a vote. Let it die in the obscurity it deserves, and may God bless the great State of Texas! John Zmirak Article- The Left's Favorite Rioters, Black Lives Matter, Back Hamas' Slaughter. Are We Next? The Eric Metaxas Show Oct 13 2023 Article mentioned- The Left's Favorite Rioters, Black Lives Matter, Back Hamas' Slaughter. Are We Next? https://stream.org/the-lefts-favorite-rioters-black-lives-matter-back-hamas-slaughter-are-we-next/ By JOHN ZMIRAK Published on October 11, 2023 John Zmirak I'm sorry for this column. Really, I am. I feel like that Cockney in shabby clothes who has to barge into the formal dining room on board the HMS Titanic and ruin everyone's meal. “Excuse me, guv'nor. It appears that we've sprung a leak. You see that iceberg out the window … ?” But somebody has to tell you. Things in America are going to get a great deal worse before they get better. If indeed they do. We'll be subjected to violence and tyranny, and we're going to live a lot more as Israelis do for a bitter period of time that our descendants will read about and shudder. I'd have to write a book, or maybe several, to explain just how we got here. But suffice it to say that when we faced the threat of a committed, America-hating Marxist becoming president of the United States, what we sent up against him was … the compromised, half-hearted Establishment hand puppet John McCain. Instead of exposing Obama's long-standing ties to radical, violent revolutionaries committed to dismantling our way of life, McCain thought his job was to be a good Washington General, and lose graciously to the Globetrotters. That's why the Democrats loved him so much, and all turned up to grin at his funeral. The Deep State Still Works for Obama Once in power, Obama took the grossly unconstitutional powers which George W. Bush had gained through the Patriot Act, and used them to politicize the Deep State and turn it into a political secret police. That same Deep State undermined and negated the choice of the people in 2016 with fake “collusion” scandals and a phony impeachment, and today it serves Joe Biden by classifying the half of our country's citizens who support Donald Trump as dangerous extremists. As we process the monstrous scale and savagery of the attack on Israeli civilians, we shouldn't really be thinking about foreign policy. Israel must take its vengeance, and I hope that its response to this Pearl Harbor launched by Hamas and Iran mirrors what the U.S. did to Japan. But that's Israel's business, and if its leaders are smart, they won't even consult with America's leaders before they take action. Because the people in charge over here aren't on their side. And they aren't on ours. No, we should be thinking about what we will do when the same kind of people with the same evil ideas launch attacks like that one against us. Not if. When. Black Lives Matter and Hamas Are Indistinguishable I don't just mean Muslims, though they're the most likely foot soldiers who will do the dirty work. No, I mean vicious, anti-Western radicals of every creed and color, some of them pasty-white Antifa adherents now living in their parents' Martha's Vineyard basements. The picture couldn't be starker. As Al Perrotta noted in The Brew, the Marxist group Black Lives Matter which launched a low-level civil war in a dozen American cities has endorsed the Hamas attack. This is the same group that Kamala Harris praised and bailed out of jail. That Michelle Obama wielded as a threat when she warned voters during the Democratic National Convention that the riots could get worse, and would, unless Joe Biden won: If you take one thing from my words tonight, it is this: if you think things cannot possibly get worse, trust me, they can; and they will if we don't make a change in this election. If we have any hope of ending this chaos, we have got to vote for Joe Biden like our lives depend on it. Will Democrats denounce BLM now? Will the timid, infighting, Ukraine-fixated leaders of our hapless GOP even demand it? The question answers itself. Political Militias Like the Nazi Brownshirts, Aimed at Us There was no good reason for the George Floyd riots. They weren't in any sense a spontaneous or real response to “racism” or “institutional violence.” Remember that the police officers who killed George Floyd were immediately suspended, prosecuted, and convicted. The System worked. But the radicals who want to destroy our System, to trash the free republic based on the Christian view of the person our founders created, didn't care about George Floyd. No more than they care about black people in crime-ravaged cities, whom they cheerfully neglect, disarm, and abort by the millions. Nor do the Muslim terror masters care about the lives of Arabs in Gaza. The goal of both extremist factions is “decolonization,” which is fancy, pseudo-academic jargon for “Kill Whitey!” Post-Colonial Theory was Obama's special focus in college, FYI. The 2020 riots got turned on and off like spigot, to suit the electoral needs of the Democratic Party. Once the riots had created the appearance of a nation spun out of control, to harm Trump's image, and terrorized conservatives into hiding in their homes, they were called off like t-ball game on a rainy day. They had served their purpose. Almost none of the arsonists, robbers, killers, or radical thugs who'd seized entire neighborhoods in cities like Seattle were ever prosecuted. Nobody looked into who was paying for hotel suites for Antifa radicals to inhabit in one city after another. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. But citizens who resisted, such as Kyle Rittenhouse and Jake Gardner, were prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Anarcho-Tyranny was openly accepted as the political tactic of the left: Anarchy for me, tyranny for thee. Now We Know Why Biden Opened the Border Have you been wondering why the Biden administration left our southern border unguarded, admitting some 8 million people whose identity, criminal records, and political views we know nothing about? It wasn't politically popular. Those people can't vote (yet). What exactly did the left gain by flooding our cities with foreigners, including tens of thousands from Middle Eastern countries? From BLM's endorsement of Hamas we have our answer. The left is counting on a certain percentage of those immigrants to serve as its foot soldiers in the next wave of riots, when it suits those funding and controlling BLM and Antifa to terrorize us again. Instead of relying on urban minorities unwise enough to demand cuts in police for their own communities, now the radical left will have a vast reserve of disgruntled, alienated foreigners — many of them young Muslim males committed to jihad. If Democrats refuse to denounce Black Lives Matter for its endorsement of Hamas' slaughter, you'll know that I'm right. As always, I hope, even pray, that I am wrong. Alas, I rarely am. UPDATE: Some in the Black Lives Matter organization are trying to disassociate themselves from the unduly candid Chicago member who posted the pro-Hamas meme. In a post I saw recopied on Facebook, which DOESN'T appear on BLM's official Twitter account, some person said some things. Is the post below authentic or not? Spin control or sincere? All we really need to know is that “trained Marxist” (her words) founder of BLM Patrice Cullors was calling for the destruction of Israel (Hamas' objective) back in 2015. Eric Metaxas with John Zmirak. Liberal Christians See Us as Pets Who Need to Be Declawed. The Eric Metaxas Show Sep 28 2023 John Zmirak of Stream.org shares his latest article and thoughts on the state of affairs. Article mentioned: Liberal Christians See Us as Pets Who Need to Be Declawed https://stream.org/liberal-christians-see-us-as-pets-who-need-to-be-declawed/ The last person left supporting New Mexico's gubernatorial gun grab is the hapless local Catholic archbishop. By JOHN ZMIRAK Published on September 18, 2023 John Zmirak A rare bit of good news in our demon-driven, dazzlingly insane America: Even Democrat governors can go too far. At least in 2023. Yes, during the COVID panic they got away with murder. Literal negligent homicide (at best), in the case of blue state rulers like Andrew Cuomo, Gavin Newsom, Gretchen Whitmer and others who dumped COVID patients in nursing homes to infect and kill the most vulnerable citizens of their states. This nicely inflated the death statistics, to justify mail-in voting and vote harvesting for the 2020 races. But robust kids and teens were caged up at home, while their grandparents in nursing homes gasped out their last breaths on ventilators, denied any farewell visitors, blessings by clergy, or even Christian burial at the end. They were bagged up and burned as medical waste, like aborted babies from clinics. Churches were padlocked and gathered dust, while casinos, liquor stores, and abortion clinics were deemed “essential,” and throbbed with financial life. So much for “Public Health,” a phrase that deserves only bitter laughter. Anyone who still speaks it with a straight face is either a grifter or a dupe. (Please read this essay explaining why those two words are the name for a false god we're obliged to mock and despise.) FBI Show Trials for Citizens it Entrapped Those governors also got away with blatant tyranny. Whitmer violated her state's constitution with her state of emergency locking citizens in their homes, as Michigan's highest court ruled. Not that some stinking constitution stopped the FBI from faking a kidnapping plot against her, and recruiting hapless citizens to entrap into its plan. Thank the good lord that three of these FBI victims have just been acquitted, unlike those January 6 protestors goaded to break the law by FBI-controlled agitators. Nobody actually tried to conduct a citizens arrest of Michigan's tyrannical governor, except those whom the FBI aggressively lobbied and funded, in a desperate effort to create right wing “domestic terrorists” for the purpose of show trials. I wonder what our founding fathers would have done with a Royal governor who tried what Whitmer did. Pay No Attention to the Tyrant Behind the Curtain But at the moment, we aren't all cowering at home in pitiful fear of a Chinese bioweapon, wearing useless face diapers when we creep out to purchase our kibble, or sticking out our arms to take an abortion-tainted experimental mRNA gene therapy. Maybe we're less prone to just flinching and cowering when our rulers pronounce the magic shibboleth that's supposed to make all our constitutional and human rights disappear. When the Wizard of Oz booms: “Public … health!” some of us insist on looking behind the curtain. A New Mexican Standoff So when New Mexico governor declared that “gun violence” (more agitprop nonsense language) was such a threat to “public health” that by executive order she was suspending citizens' gun rights in one of her cities, she didn't get the reaction she expected: Servile, cringing obedience from the citizens, adoring tributes from the media, and a cascade of gift certificates for pedicures and pumpkin lattes. Instead she got what she richly deserved: defiance and scorn. Hundreds of citizens appeared in public, peaceably displaying their weapons as permitted under actual New Mexico law. The relevant sheriff announced that he wouldn't enforce an unconstitutional order. Even gun-grabbing undergrad David Hogg took to Twitter to denounce her ham-handedness. America's best news source, Revolver gloriously gloats: New Mexico's Attorney General, Raul Torrez, has just hung his governor out to dry. He's made it crystal clear that he refuses to stand in defense of Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham in the face of growing legal battles stemming from her draconian ban on firearm carrying. “While I acknowledge my legal responsibility as the foremost legal representative of New Mexico to provide defense when state officials are litigated against in their official roles, my primary allegiance lies in safeguarding and upholding the constitutional rights of every individual,” Torrez asserted. Ouch. She's on her own. One Man Steps Forth to Embrace the Stupid I hate to correct Revolver, but that's not entirely accurate. There's one institution standing stalwartly alongside Grisham in her one-woman war on the Bill of Rights: Her local Catholic church, and its Archbishop John Wester of Santa Fe. Catholic News Agency reports, deadpan: “I believe Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham is correct to point out the crisis we are experiencing in Albuquerque and the County of Bernalillo,” Wester said, adding that “the number of gun deaths we witness here is deplorable and tragic. I hope we can come together in New Mexico to address this issue.” “In my view, the governor has been consistent in addressing gun safety through legislation and is not now attacking the Second Amendment,” Wester went on. “She knows the law. Rather, I believe she is trying to get us to solve what has become a crisis in our state.” “I do not see the governor's call to action and discernment as a threat to the Constitution,” Wester said. “The focus should be on the sanctity of human life. That is the point.” Remember that I reported here some months ago on a coordinated plan by leftist bishops to attack our citizens' gun rights, led by the scandal-plagued Cardinal Joseph Tobin of Newark. Whenever any politician tries to cancel the Second Amendment, one of those bishops will be ready to step forward and lie about it, to suggest that owning a gun is somehow akin to aborting children, because … reasons. Gaslighting the Sheep on Behalf of the Wolves Nobody will be fooled by Wester's argument. Because he doesn't offer one. He simply, blandly states that a diktat by a governor canceling gun rights doesn't violate the Second Amendment. This isn't Christian teaching. It's gaslighting, and ought to earn Wester the scorn and ridicule that (pro-choice “Catholic”) Governor Grisham is already reaping. Where does this kind of mindless post-Christian virtue-signaling come from? That's a long story, which I tell in my upcoming book, No Second Amendment, No First (now available for pre-order, though I'm making final updates). Here's a sample: Following biblical truths, we recognize that every life is unique and precious. Does that mean, at the policy level, the highest good is avoiding death at any cost? Actually, no. If that were true, then we'd never fight any wars. We'd always decide that the price in human lives was just too high. So, we'd let bullies and tyrants (who think life is cheap) run the world. If Churchill had been a pacifist, there would have been death camps in Britain. God didn't tell the Jews to embrace nonviolence in the Old Testament, and Jesus never endorsed it in the New. He never told soldiers to quit the Roman army as the price of following him. He did tell us to accept personal slights (like a slap on the cheek) rather than escalate to dueling, but that's as close to pacifism as Jesus ever got. He didn't come to earth to contradict his Father, who'd told the Jews to fight in self-defense against — and sometimes even to conquer — truly evil regimes built on child sacrifice. If extending every single life as long as possible were the goal, our speed limits would have to be set at 10 miles per hour, and we'd all drive rubber cars while wearing helmets. Mountain climbing, NASCAR, football, and other dangerous sports would be illegal. We'd have no death penalty, not even for murder. But we'd also have a hard time enforcing the law in the first place. No cops would carry guns. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Christian leaders (Catholic and Protestant) who make such a fetish of “safety” and “public health” that they are willing to shred our liberties … no longer believe in the Christian view of the person. They see us as hapless, occasionally naughty pets, not dignified images of God. We need to be kept in “safe environments” and compelled to make “responsible” and “sustainable” choices that protect “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” If that means the masters who rule us might decide to vaccinate, sterilize, or even euthanize us when it suits the “common good,” who are we to complain? And how? Once we've let our masters pull out all of our teeth, we can't even bite the hand that beats us. UPDATE: Gov. Grisham has been forced to revise her order. Dr. TJ Gentry is tackling one of the most important question in this interview. Are Humans made in God's image, or are they simply animals? The purely secular version of Evolutionary Psychology has an entirely different view of Humans from what the Bible teaches, which one is right? Dr. Gentry addresses the latest evidence for evolutionary psychology and shows why the evidence points to a design-based framework. If you're someone who believes you're not a mere animal, this is one for you!

Satan and the Nashville Church Massacre stream.org/my-pronoun-is-legion-satan-and-the-nashville-church-massacre/ The Ruth Institute March 29, 2023 By John Zmirak Published on March 29, 2023 • John Zmirak In a powerful forthcoming commentary, Mark Judge refers to womanhood as “God's masterpiece.” There are countless ways in which this is true. We can most fruitfully consider them by thinking first about the Blessed Virgin, Jesus' mother. And then about our own mothers, sisters, daughters, and wives. Consider their courage, self-sacrifice, wisdom and compassion … the crosses they bear and blessings they bring. But I know Satan's masterpiece. That is, the thing he made to ape, attack, and pervert God's Creation, which he hates. As an arrogant, lofty spirit, he loathes our bodies. As a sexless, loveless rationalist, he's revolted by reproduction. As a metaphysical terrorist, he's addicted to rebellion. So the Enemy who strives to destroy us (as proxies for a God he cannot harm) fixes his steely gaze on our soft and vulnerable parts — our hearts and loins and wombs. To Make Us Little Satans I mostly don't mean that the Enemy tempts us to sins of the flesh. That's true, and it's quite serious. But as C.S. Lewis observed in The Screwtape Letters, the Accuser isn't satisfied just trying to damn people by luring them to have sex too soon or too randomly. That's rookie stuff for him, too easily repented. No, the goal instead is to comprehensively pervert, twist, and turn against God Himself the very structure of His creation. To turn us not just into disobedient children, but little demons ourselves — consumed as Satan is with loathing, revulsion and rebellion aimed at God's exquisite handiwork. We see a strong streak of that in the works of the Marquis de Sade, the first pro-choice philosopher in history, and the father of the Sexual Revolution. His arguments were picked up by Jean-Paul Sartre and Simone de Beauvoir, mainstreamed into Second Wave feminism, and repeated cluelessly by the likes of Ruth Bader Ginsburg. De Sade didn't favor mere sexual indulgence, but aggressive, violent perversion indulged in complete with blasphemy, incest, kidnapping, torture, and murder. It isn't straightforward Lust that drives a man to imagine priests defiling the Eucharist in the course of raping nuns. That takes a spirit not of this earth, which hates the place and everyone in it. Sade was not insane. He was possessed. After he died in squalid obscurity, the spirit in him moved on. It made sure that Sade's tedious, sickening works began to fascinate intellectuals, who quoted it and reprinted it, making it somehow respectable. (Why were two high-budget Hollywood movies made lionizing this aristocrat who tortured impoverished prostitutes?) That spirit planted the seeds in subsequent centuries for the worldview we now see in bloom, its flowers of evil bobbing outside our classrooms and our libraries. Bad Parents, Bring Us Your Kids to Groom! We saw it outside what used to be my favorite late night spot in Dallas, Buzzbrews Restaurant in Lakewood, some months ago. Under new ownership, the place started hosting “all ages” drag queen brunches. That means, in plain English: “Bad parents, come bring your kids to be groomed by men dressed as strippers and prostitutes!” Such fun for all. When Christians announced a plan to pray and sing outside, the organizers of the drag event invited … Antifa, to show up in masks wielding AR-15s, to terrorize the Christians. The message was clear. These activists hate us because they hate Creation and God, whom they hate because they're possessed. Love the Victims, Fight their Exploiters I absolutely don't mean to condemn the typical victims of Transgender madness, which is a mental illness morphed by ideology into a Gnostic grudge against God. The Stream has featured detailed, sympathetic stories of “de-transitioners,” of people whose emotional problems were misdiagnosed and mistreated by deluded or greedy doctors. To those people we owe only mercy, kindness, and welcome. As the Gettys put it in their exquisite song, “O Church Arise”: With shield of faith and belt of truth We'll stand against the devil's lies An army bold whose battle-cry is Love Reaching out to those in darkness Our call to war to love the captive soul But to rage against the captor And with the sword that makes the wounded whole We will fight with faith and valour But the high priests of this new cult of Cybele — the Mediterranean goddess who demanded self-castration — are servants of our Enemy. And that's how they see us. No wonder that we've endured the first act of violence aimed at Christians by Transgenderists, in the monstrous Nashville school shooting — unleashed just days after Tennessee passed a law protecting children from Transgender grooming. That's no coincidence, as we'd probably know for sure if the authorities ever released the testosterone-juiced transgender mass killer's “manifesto.” (Spoiler: They won't.) A “Mostly Peaceful” Trans Day of Vengeance It won't be the last attack. They've promised that. What else do you think it means when we're awaiting the Trans Day of Vengeance? Not The Bee reported on an eruption of calls by Trans activists for more violence against Christians. The courageous Terry Schilling called things out as they are: So Splendidly Satanic What makes Transgenderism so splendidly Satanic, so much more baroquely evil than homosexuality, abortion, or any of de Sade's other private hobbies? The answer isn't simple. Instead, it has many layers of skin, like some infernal onion or fast-shedding snake. First, this ideology pleases the Enemy because it targets children: bullied boys, autistic girls, the victims of molestation, these and others like them get herded by their teachers onto the castration conveyor belt, the fast track to steroid poisoning. The innocence, vulnerability, and helplessness of children has always attracted the most evil among us — such as the shooter in Tennessee, whose real name and fake pronouns I won't even mention. Let her memory be accursed. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Second, the Trans agenda weaponizes and perverts our sympathy for victims — which finds its highest expression in our tears for the suffering Christ. The main power move of the demon-driven Left in our time is Victimism, the manufacture of fake victims to be used as stalking horses and puppets in a quest for ever more power. We rightly feel terrible for anyone tormented by confusion over the most basic human reality imaginable — our nature as persons of either one sex or the other. As Al Perrotta noted, “Something called the Trans Resistance Network released a statement that basically turns [the] mass murderer … into a victim.” Once our eyes are clouded by tears, it's easy to manage the sleight of hand that grants the Transgenderist high priests the whip hand over society. If you criticize the doctors, clinics, and drug companies making billions by mutilating children, the high priests reach into their hats and pull out … some tormented soul whom we are allegedly driving to suicide. They really are black magicians. A Power Grab, Backed by Threats of Violence Finally, the Transgender cult aims at staggering power, and quickly reveals its nature as a pretext for mass bullying and abuse. Allegedly in order to prevent an unproven wave of suicides induced by “transphobia” we must meet each one of the following list of demands (which grows by the news cycle): Deny the importance and reality of biological sex. Women become “people who menstruate” or (as per some in Britain's NHS) “Front Hole People.” Roll that around in your head, as you think about your mom. Allow mentally ill or depravedly opportunistic boys to take over women's sports. Destroy women's privacy in restrooms and locker rooms. Subject women prisoners to male rapists wearing wigs. Force the entire population to speak differently, revising a basic part of speech, the pronoun. Fully fund the mutilation of children's bodies through government programs. Then offer the same to soldiers, even prisoners. Shame as “transphobic” haters normal, heterosexual people who won't pursue romances with crude, surgical simulacra who ape the opposite sex. Cancel and censor authors, speakers, thinkers who dissent from all this Satanic madness. Deprive parents of custody if they won't enable this butchery to be practiced on their kids. Transgenderism's high priests are thuggishly trying to dominate us all, as part of a lunatic scheme to deconsecrate nature, and obliterate humanity as God saw fit to make it. If there's any worldview more openly diabolical out in the world today, I don't want to know about it. I'm middling at prayer, and terrible at fasting. Imagine that you were scrolling through a social media site and someone you worked with or one of your family members posted an image or video of you that was less than flattering. Everyone not only saw it but started commenting on it and sharing it. How would this make you feel? Now consider a person who not only never sees something like this posted about them but doesn't even understand that they are being ridiculed or exploited. This is what it is like for someone living with dementia. They don't have the ability to approve or consent to have images, videos and other identifying posts to be shared in this social media-crazed world. These people need to be protected. It could be you. Every 3 seconds a new case of dementia is diagnosed somewhere in the world, joining the already more than 55 million people living with the disease. Dementia, a general term for a group of similar diseases including Alzheimer's, is a progressive disease that destroys memory and other important mental functions. While there is no cure, medications and management strategies may temporarily improve symptoms. We live in a world now where anyone can take a photo or record a video of someone and put it out on social media. But I am capable of making that decision because I understand what is being posted and shared and I understand what social media is. A person suffering with dementia does not and they need to be protected. We need to remember that every person with dementia is still a person and deserves and is entitled to respect and dignity. This topic will be the subject of an upcoming “Ethics of Dementia and Social Media” forum featuring nine of the world's leading dementia experts on the ethics of dementia and social media and will air on YouTube and other podcast providers worldwide on Feb. 14.

He Was the Anti-Biden By JOHN ZMIRAK Published on August 31, 2022 John Zmirak When I heard that he'd died, I found my eyes welling with tears. I realized that Mikhail Gorbachev had made an enormous difference to my life, to all of our lives. He enriched them immeasurably, at the cost of ruining his own. “Greater love hath no man,” I thought, and said a quick, fervent prayer for his soul. Here was a man who grew up in the heart of the godless, authoritarian Soviet system, and rose to its top. Who believed in the ideals which it had taught him, even as his family had suffered under Stalin. He survived the viciously Machiavellian world of Soviet politics, and rose to supreme power over one of the world's two superpowers. But once he held that power, unlike each of his predecessors, Gorbachev didn't spend his time and energy clinging to it for its own sake. (Rent the black comedy The Death of Stalin for a truthful, satirical look at the internal hatreds and rivalries that plagued the Soviet system.) Nor did he grasp at the power his nation wielded to dominate others, throughout eastern Europe and much of the Third World. Imagining a Humane Socialism. Of Course it Proved Imaginary Instead, Mikhail Gorbachev looked honestly at the poisonous effects that Marxist socialism was having on his Russian homeland, and the satellite states it commanded. He saw the vast economic irrationalities, the deep corruption, the paranoid fear of openness and new ideas. And he believed he could change things, could return the vast socialist empire to the humanistic ideals that lay so deeply buried at its origins. Gorbachev read the Utopian poetry of the young Marx and sought to recover that vision and make it real. He dismantled much of the apparatus of oppression that held the Soviet empire together, and encouraged his fellow Communist leaders in the East to do the same. Of course he failed. Socialism isn't really humanistic after all, but subhumanist. It gets the human species wrong, and even our phylum, mistaking our mammalian kind for some kind of social insect, like a termite. (Just so, secular libertarians propose a political system perfectly suited for lizards who breed by hooking up briefly and randomly, then abandon their eggs in the sand.) He Wouldn't Punish His People Many, many political leaders over millennia have dared greatly and failed, pointed their nations to dreams that turned out to be mere fantasies. Typically, such leaders prodigally poured out the lives of their helpless subjects, in vast schemes of conquest or impossible reforms. When their programs failed, they stormed at and punished their citizens for “failing” them, for not living up to the grandeur of their visions. So Hitler in his bunker cursed the Germans for proving “unworthy” of him, and Mao at the hapless Chinese who insisted on starving to death in their tens of millions. So did Hillary Clinton and her party, who raged that the American people stabbed them in the back with their votes in 2016. From the Brink of Nuclear War to Peace Talks with Reagan Not Gorbachev. He doggedly tried to implement his new, impossible “socialism with a human face,” and mostly resisted the massive pressure of the men all around him to resort to deadly force when it kept failing. He emerged from a Soviet elite so angst-ridden and panicky that it came within a hairsbreadth of launching a pre-emptive nuclear strike in 1983 that would have killed hundreds of millions — you and me included. (See the sobering history book 1983: Reagan, Andropov, and a World on the Brink to see how close we came.) But Gorbachev, attaining power, was willing to negotiate honestly with the same President Reagan, pulling both powers back from their previous war footing, and seeking genuine arms control and a lasting peace. He Wouldn't Send in the Tanks In 1989, when Communist governments started collapsing all over Europe, Gorbachev could have sent in his troops. In fact, millions of Russians today still think he should have, for the sake of preserving not Communism, but Russian power. But Gorbachev wouldn't. Against his wishes and in the ruins of his own socialist dreams, he allowed the people of East Germany to answer Reagan's call and “tear down this Wall!” Again in 1991, after a coup attempt by hardline Communists that almost claimed his life, Gorbachev again did not use what power he still had to crush his enemies, such as Boris Yeltsin. In a series of moves that got him widely despised by Russians as a weakling, he permitted the Soviet system to vote itself out of existence. Then went on to a life of relative obscurity, his conscience clean. Please Support The Stream: Equipping Christians to Think Clearly About the Political, Economic, and Moral Issues of Our Day. Contrast that with how the rulers of China behaved in 1989, when democracy protests swept their country. They crushed it with tanks and drowned it in blood. Perversely, that seemed to win the respect of Western leaders, who went right on doing business as usual with their regime. We Took Full, Ruthless Advantage of Russian Weakness Toward Russia, our leaders behaved like Machiavellian strategists. We took full advantage of Russia's collapse to violate our promises, and push our NATO alliance right up to its borders — as if the Russians were some conquered, rum-soaked tribe of American Indians whose hunting grounds we coveted. Western advisors like Jeffrey Sachs flew over to Russia, and help set up a system that let old Communist apparatchiks steal most of the country's wealth. We crowed about our “unipolar” moment of unchallenged American power, even as Russians saw their life expectancies plummet, and China rearmed much faster than Hitler in the 30s. Joe Biden, Our Putin Today, our own oligarchy is clinging to power much more ruthlessly than Gorbachev ever did. The Biden regime, unlike Gorbachev's, is holding political purge trials and raiding opponents' homes. Instead of releasing political prisoners as Gorbachev did, Biden is collecting more of them. He's going on TV denouncing his rivals as “fascists,” sounding for all the world like a North Korean propaganda broadcast. Perversely, we might see Biden as the mirror image, anti-Gorbachev. One came up in a system of tyranny and injustice, rose to power honestly, then peacefully dismantled it. The other clawed his way to the top of a once-just, once-free system, and is leading its transformation into a failing one-party state. As I found myself observing, when I first heard the news of his passing: Prayers please for Gorbachev, and for America's delivery from a new evil empire. We sometimes live in a whirlwind to wonder where we are in education for new generations. We have a guest today Yehee who is a disabled teacher who was born in Korea and, due to oppression, moved to the United States. Her story is more of an awaking and understanding of the many issues we face with the legacy system and the lack of teachers and personnel in the education system. Focusing and getting a glimpse of what the youth need, with the help of teachers like Yehee, we will not be able to change the system overnight. Still, more of adapting and figuring ways around it, all we need to worry about are we going to be a part of the change, or we will choose to stay comfortable and in the process cause the progress the eduction for our youth be unchanged and old fashioned. Setting aside doctrinal differences to engage culture on significant moral issues
“The wound is the place where light enters you.” – Rumi At 25, Chloe Zelkha, a community organizer, chaplain and educator for young adults, suddenly found herself in the role of a first-time caregiver. Her husband sustained a debilitating injury from a car accident. Soon thereafter, her hale-and-hearty father passed away from an aortic aneurysm. Facing sudden death and dis-ease in her family, everything Chloe had learned from her academic religious studies went from conceptual to lived. From this period of tremendous trial, she emerged with a guiding question: How do we stay wide awake to the precariousness of life in and around us, and also walk in the world unafraid? Rather than running from grief, Chloe chose to lean into death and dying. She trained as a hospital chaplain at the University of California San Francisco hospitals, offering spiritual care to the ill, the dying, and their families. “Our death-denying culture,” she remarks, “insists that we look away from mortality, look away from pain.” Instead of the conventional chaplaincy response as “fixing” spiritual crises, she stepped into her role as “more of a student, sitting at the feet of the real masters,” and understood grieving as a “courageous act.” During her chaplaincy, she realized the paucity of grief programs supporting young adults. So, with some friends, she put together ongoing events, like weekend sleepover retreats for young adults who lost a parent, friend or loved one, focusing on peer connection and community — circles of sharing stories, workshops, bonfires, song and silence — instead of clinical care. When the pandemic hit, Chloe responded similarly, cofounding the COVID Grief Network, a mutual aid organization that offers free community and grief support to young adults who lost someone to COVID-19, especially in hopes to heal the isolation. From a young age, Chloe had been supported to feel that her ideas mattered — whether in rebounding from setbacks, or actualizing fresh and novel intentions. She attended Ohlone Elementary School in Palo Alto, California, where the project-based, participatory, mixed-age, whole-child pedagogy taught her to relate to her surroundings with curiosity. She kept a “teaching ideas journal” and often pitched creative curriculum ideas to her teachers (“usually unsuccessfully,” she adds with a chuckle). As she grew, the raucous discussions she initiated at her family’s dinner table on teaching and learning would come to incorporate how people unlearn, and eventually, “how learning spaces can be transformative, even sites of spiritual transformation.” Chloe’s parents also helped nurture her enterprising spirit. Her father, an Iraqi Jew raised in Iran, emigrated alone to the U.S. when he was 16. An entrepreneur, he would embrace with equal joy the failures and successes of his ventures. Her mother was a labor and delivery nurse who, having supported and witnessed countless mothers giving birth, became adept at “midwifing new ideas.” Although their family didn’t observe the religious dimensions of their Jewish culture, Chloe was enrolled in Hebrew School for becoming a bat mitsvah. It was then that she began identifying with the spiritual practices of Judaism, and for the first time in public, she sang. In St. Augustine’s words, “Those who sing pray twice,” and Chloe’s voice became one of her favorite expressions in liturgical contexts. Beyond grief work, Chloe’s work also focuses on community and healing in other sectors. Even before her chaplaincy training, she had helped design transformative group experiences for young adults (from retreats to DIY rituals to performance arts). She was an organizer with The Food Project, a youth employment program that gathers a diversity of teens to grow food, learn about oppression and liberation, and bridge differences. She also served as Fellowship Director at Urban Adamah, a Jewish farm in Berkeley, where she integrated spirituality, farming, mindfulness and social justice. Chloe's social justice interests at a young age had inspired her to study religion at Carleton College, because it “helped me understand the ways people make meaning.” Her diverse coursework included offerings like Religion and the Black Freedom Struggle; Taoism; Religious and Moral Issues in the Holocaust; and a study abroad program in Mexico on Catholic Liberation Theology. She then trained as a community organizer through the JOIN for Justice Fellowship in Boston. At Harvard University, she earned a Masters in Education, focusing on transformative experiences. Currently, she is studying toward rabbinic ordination at the Reconstructionist Rabbinical College in Philadelphia. Her guided offerings draw from her widely inclusive approach to faith — combining song, Buddhist insight meditation, and Jewish scripture and spirituality. For anyone interested in more singing or contemplative prayer videos, she offers a whole playlist! We again meet John the Baptist and discuss why he was thrown in prison and what we should do in our day with similar questions. We discuss why John sent his remaining disciples to Jesus and what to do if we have doubts. We talk about what role John the Baptist filled and where he fits into Biblical prophecy and the kingdom that he and Jesus was speaking about. How do I know whether to keep silent on moral issues or speak out and risk persecution? What should we do if we have doubts? Of what value is it being in Christ's kingdom? In this week's conversation between Dr. James Emery White and co-host Alexis Drye, they discuss whether those of us who consider ourselves Christ followers should try to legislate moral issues. Secular culture implies that morals can change, and often, legislative decisions are made on the basis of majority rule. What is certain is that of utmost importance is having a Christian worldview. Episode Links The are several blogs written by Dr. White that will help deepen your understanding of this conversation. To start off with, “Worldview Matters” is a blog that examines the foundational reasons to have a Christian worldview through which we engage culture. In considering our faith as it intersects with politics, two blogs that may serve you are “Is Christian Nationalism True?” and “On Being a Political Christian.” The conversation also touched on the importance of having objective truth, an idea fleshed out in a blog titled, “Abandoning Truth in the Name of Love.” And finally, “Culture's New Vocabulary” is an older blog, but one that's message still rings true diving into the ideas of freedom of religion and tolerance. There are a few series that Dr. White delivered at Mecklenburg Community Church that you may also be interested in exploring. “Hot Topics” was a series on cultural issues and includes two installments on the topic of bioethics. “Where Angels Fear to Tread: Meck Talks Politics” was a very popular series on the Christian's role in the political realm. Finally, because the conversation did touch on issues related to the LGBTQ+ community and the church, you may be interested in reading a four-part blog series beginning with “Gay Marriage: Part One,” or the weekend message series “Holy Matrimony” highlighting the significance of the biblical significance of marriage. Annie and Candis dig into some common practices in discipline of young people in schools these days. Education professionals often turn developmental issues into moral ones. Young people face double jeopardy of being punished at school and home for the same infraction. Public shaming tools like behavior charts, naughty tables, and timeouts have become normalized. This is skewing expectations and challenging children's ability to "suceed." Listen to Annie and Candis explore the idea of turning relationship-based learning into the norm.
