Episode 302: This week's episode AI is moving beyond answering questions — it's beginning to rewrite the systems beneath itself, raising a critical question: who builds the brake pedal when autonomous agents start making decisions at scale? We pair that warning with tech that inspires and unsettles, from NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Telescope launching early to Microsoft testing office‑focused AI hardware that sparks immediate privacy concerns. Gwen Way also spotlights the Roro Lee Pocket AI and the real implications of recording‑consent laws and cloud‑stored data.We round things out with the cultural side of automation: Hinge's AI conversation starters, Instagram's AI support bot missteps, and Hasbro testing AI personalities for classic characters. A full hour of tech news with real‑world takeaways, not hype this is the episode you don't skip all coming up on TechTime Radio, with a little whiskey on the side.-- Full Episode Details:AI isn't just answering questions anymore, it's starting to write the system underneath itself, and that should make every tech user pause. We kick things off with a stark warning from inside the AI world: if the industry only has a gas pedal, what does a “brake pedal” look like, and who gets to press it when autonomous AI agents start making decisions at scale? From there, we keep it moving with tech that feels hopeful and tech that feels invasive. We talk NASA's Nancy Grace Roman Space Telescope launching ahead of schedule and why its massive field of view could reshape what we know about dark energy and galaxy formation. Then we come back down to Earth with Microsoft testing AI hardware for office workers, including a wearable badge concept that raises immediate privacy questions. Gwen Way joins us for Gadgets and Gear with the Roro Lee Pocket AI agent, a Kickstarter device designed to capture meeting notes and turn them into action plans, plus a straight talk moment about recording consent laws and where your data really goes when “the cloud” is involved. We also hit the cultural side of automation: Hinge rolling out AI to help people start dating conversations, Instagram's AI support bot creating a security mess, and Hasbro experimenting with AI chatbots for icons like Optimus Prime and Mr. Potato Head. Add a whiskey tasting of Arbeiki 1794 Highland Rye Single Grain Scotch and you've got a full hour of tech news for everyday people with real takeaways. Dan Buck joins the segment to introduce a new format for his “Buck Stops Here” commentary, starting each appearance with a featured independent music clip, this time spotlighting rapper Tom McDonald and his track “Anti,” which he describes as a critique of Hollywood and political culture. The discussion expands into broader cultural and political themes, including criticism of progressive policies in blue states, with claims that high taxes and expanded government programs are driving a migration of people and businesses toward lower-tax states like Texas, Florida, and Tennessee. The conversation explores whether that trend reflects unintended consequences or deliberate political strategy, including concerns about long-term fiscal collapse and potential federal bailouts. The segment closes with a lighter exchange about music tastes and the surprising popularity of the band Bring Me the Horizon among younger fans, before teasing upcoming discussion on family policy and accountability in the Trump administration. Trigger warning: sexual abuse and suicide Host Shannon Russell opens Currents framing the episode around the Epstein case as a symbol of systemic injustice and the need for a cultural shift toward healing and accountability. Guests Grace Raje and Big Ocean Women founder Carolina Allen discuss survivor dignity, prevention, and recovery, with Grace sharing her childhood sexual abuse and the lasting impacts, including memory suppression, PTSD, chronic illness, and suicide attempts, alongside the validation she found through connection and therapy. They argue abuse is driven by power and dehumanization, not biology, and outline a “rape culture pyramid” versus a “life culture” model centered on empowerment, dignity, connection, and security. The conversation emphasizes educating children about grooming cues, prioritizing child protection over adult feelings, reducing shame through storytelling, and viewing strong relationships and families as key to prevention and healing, while also noting concerns about beauty trends, eating disorders, and infantilization. “We may not be able to fix every broken system overnight, but we can decide what kind of culture we want to contribute to.” Shannon Russell “Through strong families, it is possible to create a world where sexual violence is not simply punished, but actually unthinkable.” - Grace Raje “It's worth it to heal. Life is worth living.” - Grace Raje “There's nothing more powerful in disrupting abusive systems than healed mothers.” - Grace Raje “God loves children. Our creator has a special place for the most vulnerable, and special children who are looking to us for protection and guidance. And I'll do anything within my power to, to grow that. And I know that that's the ultimate litmus test: how we treat children.” - Carolina Allen “Darkness does not get the final word. It does not. Change doesn't always start in courtrooms, it rarely starts in headlines. It starts in everyday decisions, in how we treat people, how we speak up, how we create safe and honest space in our homes and our communities.” - Shannon Russell 00:00 Trigger Warning and Purpose 00:32 Epstein Case and Cultural Shift 02:00 Meet Grace and Carolina 03:31 Grace Shares Her Story 05:46 Justice Loopholes and CSW 08:12 Twofold Message Healing 10:49 Hope Through Connection 13:32 Trauma Aftermath and PTSD 19:49 Memory Suppression Explained 26:57 Believe Survivors Protect Kids 33:05 Healed Mothers Break Cycles 36:22 Talking to Kids About Grooming 40:54 Families as the Solution 41:56 Why Abuse Happens 42:31 Debunking Biology Myths 43:16 Masculinity and Control 44:35 Not All Men Accountability 45:48 Rape Culture Pyramid 49:30 Calling Out Rape Jokes 52:16 Guilt Versus Shame 55:45 Building Life Culture 01:02:07 Porn Addiction Healing 01:04:39 Trauma and the Brain 01:08:57 Parenting Without Shame 01:11:34 Eating Disorders and Trends 01:18:24 Protecting Children Closing Grace's Presentation at the UN: • Big Ocean Women at UNCSW70: Stories of Sex... In this episode, Carmen explores a quiet but unmistakable cultural shift — one you don't see in headlines, but you feel in the stories we tell and the ones we've stopped telling. What begins with a Canadian TV show becomes a wider examination of how the U.S. lost its place as the world's storytelling center, not because someone took it, but because we stopped protecting the craft that built it.Through the lens of Wild Cards, the collapse of mid‑budget TV, the shock‑value era of American network decisions, and the rise of global storytelling ecosystems, Carmen traces the cracks in the U.S. entertainment model and what they reveal about our cultural standing. This isn't nostalgia. It's a diagnosis — of an industry chasing algorithms instead of audiences, spectacle instead of coherence, and short‑term spikes instead of long‑term trust. If you've ever wondered why American TV feels different now, why international shows feel richer and more grounded, or why the U.S. no longer sets the cultural tone it once did, this episode lays it out with clarity and heart.Title: How I Know the World Is Leaving the U.S. BehindHost: Carmen LezethThank you for stopping by. 00:00 All right, let's go to the phones. We're going to talk to Ralph in Gaffney. How are doing, Ralph? I'm doing excellent, sir. What I call for all this stuff about Iran and people upset they're under attack. I saw video evidence of president back to Clinton talking about Iran could never be given nuclear options. Obama's words were a nuclear 00:30 Option Naran could not ever happen. Something like that. And then Hillary talked about it. So they all were talking, talk is cheap. Now when action takes place, everybody's offended. Exactly right. And they don't care because they would let Homeland Security at least be funded. Look at what's going on. You've given them ... They want a crisis. know, Jim Clyburn said, can't let a crisis go to waste. 00:59 That's true. Absolutely. Until it reaches their home, then it's a problem. Then it is a huge problem. You're right. mean, then that's what is it? Not in my backyard. That's just the way they are. I appreciate it, Ralph. So, I mean, Democrats have been saying it for years. But then when Iran comes out and they say, you know, we have enough nuclear material to create 11 nuclear bombs. 01:30 And the president and Marco Rubio and Pete Hagseth, just kind of, you know, theoretically looked at each other and went, oh, really? Well, we need to do something about that. They're the biggest problem on the planet. You look at how many people, how many, how many. 01:50 terror attacks and now and now what not only is Donald Trump gotten our so-called allies to show their true colors they've also gotten the Democrats to show theirs I mean just oh my gosh these people are absolutely delusional 02:12 They're actually supporting. 02:15 Iran, even Joy Reid said Iran is better place. Joy Reid actually said on a podcast that Iran was a better place for a woman to live than the United States. Said that, those words vomited out of her mouth because these people are ridiculous. They really are. So now over in the Senate, we're just trying to make sure that our elections are safe and fair. Constitution says only citizens can vote. Well, 02:45 In order for only citizens to vote, you have to proof that you're a citizen. It's just the same way if you go to... 03:03 any venue, go to a concert, go to a concert and try to walk into a door that says staff only, not staff only, I'm staff. You have to prove that you're staff. You have to show your staff ID. When I come to this radio station every day, guess what? The doors are locked because the entrance that I use is staff only. So guess what? 03:33 I have to have something that opens that door. You got to be able to do that. Same with voting. People have been saying, they're just giving away these IDs to everybody and now they're complaining that college IDs shouldn't be able to use for voting. What? Are you kidding me? Do know how many college IDs, how many people that came into this country on student visas that have those IDs? Plenty of but they're not citizens. 04:04 We just want fair elections. We want only Americans to vote. And we don't want interference in our elections, which is apparently what we have been having for a long time. I want you to listen to John Solomon. mean, this he's got a couple of big stories now. One of them has to do with Maricopa County in Arizona, and this one has a little something to do with Ukraine. There are scores of raw intelligence reports that show Chinese meddling. 04:34 in the American election. And there's one report raising concern that Ukraine was engaged in a plot to do something bad in the 2024 election to help Joe Biden. I want to repeat that. There is intercepted intelligence that the Trump administration has had for many, many months in which it is suggested by Ukrainian officials that they're going to try to help Joe Biden win the election using American taxpayer money. 05:02 Well, I mean, hell, I That's the only money they had. All the money they had in Ukraine was American taxpa ...

In this episode of Church Is Messy, Rick and Svea explore the second half of 1 Corinthians 11, where Paul sharply rebukes the Corinthian church for their divisive behavior during communion. Paul's warning reveals how seriously God takes unity within the church.Rick explains that unity is not just a goal for Christians—it reflects God's very nature as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. The problem in Corinth wasn't personal sin before communion, but pretending to be unified while practicing division, as wealthier believers feasted while the poor went hungry.Rick and Svea discuss what true unity looks like in practice: moving beyond tolerance to actively honoring and welcoming people across differences in age, background, culture, and life stage. They remind listeners that biblical unity in diversity is not a cultural trend but an ancient foundation of the church. The episode closes with a picture of this unity in action through multigenerational faith communities learning from one another around the same table.Topics discussed in this episode:00:00 - Intro02:32 - Introduction to 1 Corinthians 11 Passage03:39 - God's Discipline and Importance of Unity04:37 - The Trinity and Unity07:01 - A Thought Experiment08:40 - Divine Discipline vs. Condemnation09:42 - Better Not to Meet - A Church Out of Whack10:20 - Taking Communion in an Unworthy Manner12:33 - Communion as a Meal in Small Groups13:32 - Clarifying Unity in Christ vs. Loving All People15:42 - The Tolerate, Celebrate, Elevate Progression16:30 - Philippians 2 - The Mind of Christ18:11 - Practical Application in Church Life20:32 - Idealized Small Group Expectations21:07 - Loneliness Epidemic22:51 - Cultural Shift on Unity and Diversity26:54 - Christian Foundation for Unity28:12 - Beauty and Goodness of Unity30:38 - Preview of Next Week
Younger investors are reshaping the markets—from crypto and AI to ETFs and gaming. But with so many new platforms, trends, and voices competing for attention, how can believers invest wisely across generations?Matt Bell, Managing Editor at Sound Mind Investing, has been tracking these shifts closely, and he joins the show today to share his insights and highlight both what's changing and what remains timeless—especially when biblical wisdom guides our financial decisions. The Surge of Younger InvestorsSince 2020, millions of new investment accounts have been opened—many by Gen Z and millennials. In fact, a significant portion of today's investors entered the market during the early pandemic years, despite dramatic market volatility. Why? Several factors converged:Extra time at home during lockdownsStimulus payments and increased savingsCommission-free trading platformsSocial media influencers showcasing day tradingApps that made investing feel simple—even entertainingInstead of retreating when markets dropped, many younger investors leaned in.How Younger Investors Are Engaging the Market DifferentlyCompared to previous generations, younger investors tend to:Use mobile apps as their primary investment toolsExplore emerging sectors like crypto, AI, and fintechGet advice from social media and peers rather than advisorsTrade more frequentlyFavor ETFs over traditional mutual fundsETFs, in particular, appeal to younger investors because they trade like stocks, often have lower costs, and allow for more active participation. At the same time, themes like cryptocurrency, gaming-related funds, and sports gambling investments show the sharpest generational divide—drawing the most interest from the youngest investors.A Cultural Shift in InvestingInterest in newer asset classes isn't limited to younger investors anymore. Crypto, AI, and alternative investments are gaining traction across all age groups.Major developments—such as the approval of Bitcoin ETFs and growing conversations about private equity in retirement plans—signal that the investing culture is evolving rapidly. But rapid access can create risk.Availability and hype can outpace understanding. New investment options often carry complexity, and without careful research, investors may unknowingly take on risks they don't fully grasp. The Social Media EffectOne of the most defining features of today's investing landscape is the role of social media.Anyone can build a following and offer financial advice—even without credentials. In a crowded digital space, the loudest voices often gain the most attention, not necessarily the wisest ones. That's why discernment matters. Before acting on advice:Check credentialsEvaluate track recordsSeek multiple perspectivesCompare guidance against long-term principlesWise investing has always required counsel, patience, and humility—traits that don't trend easily online. The Opportunity of Starting YoungDespite the risks, the growing interest in investing among younger generations is largely positive.Time is one of the most powerful tools in investing. Starting early allows compounding to work over decades, creating opportunities for steady growth and long-term stability.Encouraging young investors to begin is wise. Helping them begin wisely is even more important. How Parents and Mentors Can Guide the Next GenerationFor parents, grandparents, and mentors, the goal isn't to criticize younger investors—it's to walk alongside them.Start by affirming their interest. Then introduce principles that shape a healthier approach:DiversificationLong-term thinkingWise counselProcess-driven investingOngoing learningThese conversations can help shift the focus from chasing trends to building a thoughtful strategy. Why Process Matters More Than TrendsIn fast-moving markets, a clear investment process becomes essential.Emotion—fear when markets fall and greed when they rise—is one of the greatest risks investors face. A disciplined strategy helps guard against impulsive decisions. For believers, process also reflects stewardship. The money we manage ultimately belongs to God, and our responsibility is to steward it wisely and intentionally.A thoughtful plan helps investors stay grounded when markets—and headlines—shift.Understanding What You OwnOne practical test of wise investing is simple: can you clearly explain what you own and why?If an investment can't be explained in plain language, it may not be fully understood. And stewardship requires understanding.Clarity leads to better decisions. It also protects against blindly following trends or hype. When Investing Starts to Feel Like GamblingModern platforms often blur the line between investing and entertainment. Frequent trading, instant feedback, and gamified interfaces can encourage short-term thinking. But Scripture points to a different path:Ecclesiastes 11:2 encourages diversification.Proverbs 21:5 praises steady, disciplined planning.1 Timothy 6:10 warns against the love of money and reckless pursuit of wealth. These principles emphasize patience, wisdom, and restraint—not speculation. What Never ChangesEvery generation invests differently. Technology evolves. Markets shift. New asset classes emerge. But God's principles for stewardship remain steady.Wise investing is not about chasing what's trending. It's about:Purpose over hypePatience over speedProcess over impulseFaithfulness over fear or greedWhen portfolios are shaped by those values, investing becomes more than a financial activity—it becomes an act of stewardship. And that's a strategy that transcends generations. On Today's Program, Rob Answers Listener Questions:My husband is retiring next year and plans to roll his 401(k) into a Roth IRA. I also have a small 401(k). Can we combine our accounts? Also, I'm a retired teacher with a pension and a small 403(b). Would it make sense to withdraw the funds, invest them elsewhere, and give them to my sons?I'd like to set up a 529 plan for my new great-grandson. How does it work? Can I make his parents the owners or beneficiaries, and can other family members contribute if I make a one-time gift?Resources Mentioned:Faithful Steward: FaithFi's Quarterly Magazine (Become a FaithFi Partner)Sound Mind InvestingNot Your Father's Portfolio—A Generational Divide in Investment Preferences (Article by Matt Bell at SoundMindInvesting.com)SavingForCollege.comOur Ultimate Treasure: A 21-Day Journey to Faithful StewardshipWisdom Over Wealth: 12 Lessons from Ecclesiastes on MoneyLook At The Sparrows: A 21-Day Devotional on Financial Fear and AnxietyRich Toward God: A Study on the Parable of the Rich FoolFind a Certified Kingdom Advisor (CKA)FaithFi App Remember, you can call in to ask your questions every workday at (800) 525-7000. In this episode of The Winston Marshall Show, I spoke with Hungarian government minister, Panyi Miklós, for an in-depth conversation on collapsing birth rates, demographic decline, and why Hungary has made family policy a national priority. We discuss why falling fertility rates threaten the long-term sustainability of societies, why economic growth is meaningless without future generations, and why Europe is facing a demographic crisis decades in the making. Panyi explains Hungary's conviction that population decline is a civilisational emergency, not an abstract statistic. The conversation explores Hungary's economic reforms, tax cuts, and job creation strategy, alongside its expansive pro-family policies, including housing support, childcare expansion, and major tax exemptions for mothers. We examine how Hungary raised its fertility rate from one of the lowest in Europe, why that progress later stalled, and how war, inflation, and economic insecurity shape family decisions. We also discuss migration, national sovereignty, border control, and why Hungary rejects mass migration as a solution to demographic decline. Panyi explains how history, culture, and national identity inform Hungary's approach, and why demographic renewal cannot be separated from questions of social cohesion and cultural continuity.A detailed and revealing conversation about population collapse, family policy, and whether the West can reverse demographic decline before the consequences become irreversible.GET YOUR TICKETS HERE FOR DISSIDENT DIALOGUES: https://dissidentdialogues.org/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------To see more exclusive content and interviews consider subscribing to my substack here: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------FOLLOW ME ON SOCIAL MEDIA:Substack: https://www.winstonmarshall.co.uk/X: https://twitter.com/mrwinmarshallInsta: https://www.instagram.com/winstonmarshallLinktree: https://linktr.ee/winstonmarshall----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Chapters00:00 – Introduction04:03 – Europe's Demographic Emergency Explained08:25 – Hungary's Wake-Up Call on Population Decline09:03 – Migration vs Families as a Demographic Solution10:05 – Economic Reform Before Social Reform14:20 – The 2015 Migration Crisis & Hungary's Border Fence18:39 – Why Hungary Rejected EU Groupthink22:03 – Migration, Security & Cultural Transformation25:34 – National Identity, History & Sovereignty27:58 – Measuring Success: Hungary's Fertility Turnaround30:14 – Raising Birth Rates Without Immigration32:07 – Poverty Reduction, Jobs & Family Stability35:00 – Women, Careers & Motherhood38:05 – Radical Tax Incentives for Mothers41:18 – Making Motherhood Economically Valued43:49 – Restoring the Two-Child Family Model45:18 – Why Birth Rates Fell Again After 202247:13 – War, Inflation & Economic Shock50:00 – Can Pro-Natal Policies Survive Crises?53:02 – Culture, Religion & Lessons from Israel55:00 – The Cultural Shift the West Must Face56:41 – Final Reflections on Humanity's Biggest Crisis Hosted on Acast. In this episode, we sit down with Carl Mattsson, VP & GM EMEA at Kong, to discuss one of the most remarkable scaling journeys in the industry. Carl joined Kong when it was at just $1M ARR in the EMEA market and has since spearheaded its growth to nearly $100M ARR. We explore the unique sales principles that shaped the organization, the "heart surrounded by science" culture, and how Carl navigated the transition from a single-product company to a dominant AI-governance platform. Carl also shares the incredible story of a founder's personal commitment that kept him at the company during a critical turning point.
In this episode, AgingIN CEO Susan Ryan sits down with Bob Kramer to explore a career shaped by purpose, perspective, and a deep commitment to improving the lives of older adults. Kramer reflects on his personal and professional journey—from his early work as a pastor, to leadership roles in government, to founding the National Investment Center for Seniors Housing & Care (NIC)—and the values that have guided his work across decades in aging services. Throughout the conversation, Kramer emphasizes the importance of legacy, listening, and being "multilingual" across sectors, disciplines, and viewpoints. He shares how understanding the language of policy, finance, healthcare, and community is essential for leaders seeking to drive meaningful change in senior living and longevity. The discussion examines the evolving senior living landscape, including the growing gap between lifespan and health span, the increasing demand for housing and care, and the urgent need for innovation beyond traditional private-pay models. Kramer introduces concepts such as "next stage living," lifestyle-driven communities, and the rise of active adult products, along with the integration of primary care, prevention, and chronic disease management to support longer, healthier lives. Kramer advocates for greater integration of older adults into the workforce and volunteer efforts, noting their potential to address challenges such as loneliness, caregiving shortages, and community resilience. He calls for a cultural shift that values the contributions of older adults and confronts the ageist assumptions that limit participation. In closing, Kramer offers candid advice for current and emerging leaders: seek out differing perspectives, challenge assumptions, build operational expertise, and remain open to learning across boundaries. While acknowledging the policy, market, and demographic challenges ahead, he remains optimistic—pointing to collaboration, innovation, and perseverance as essential tools for meeting the needs of an aging population.

Today we're talking about something a lot of conservatives don't want to admit yet: MAGA, as we knew it, is over. Donald Trump failed his base past the point of no return. In this episode, I break down why. Including his refusal to release the Epstein list, his repeated support for foreign nations over the American people, and his insistence on importing more H-1B workers from India, which undercuts American jobs and suppresses American wages. This movement was supposed to be America First. Somewhere along the way, the “First” quietly disappeared. Let's talk about why that happened, and where we go from here.

Today we're discussing the debate between feminists and non-feminists, and why I side with the non-feminists for biblical reasons. Just because women can do some of what men do doesn't mean we should. We'll also continue discussing the Charlie Kirk case, Erika Kirk's strange behavior, why being a widow doesn't automatically make you innocent, and why it's deeply concerning that TPUSA refuses to distance itself from Israel, even as Charlie's final words publicly challenged Israel, Judaism, and the control of figures like Ben Shapiro over the conservative movement.

David Hutchens: Story Dash David Hutchens works with leaders around the world to find, craft, and tell their most urgent stories for the purpose of creating shared meaning, preserving culture, disseminating learning, and speeding change in organizations. He has taught the Storytelling Leader program at some of the most influential organizations, including NASA, Paypal, Loreal Paris, Cisco, Walmart, Google, and FedEx. He's written many books, including the Circle of the 9 Muses, Story Dash, and The Leadership Story Deck. When organizational change is happening, leaders need to be intentional about lining up with culture, especially if it's the time to shift that culture just a bit. We often do the logistics well, but we miss the power of both the human and emotional connections. In this episode, David and I discuss how story can help us make a meaningful shift. Key Points The organizations that are being intentional about culture are also being intentional about story. Getting beyond the logistics of changes and leaning first into humanity and emotion help people frame cultural shifts. Leaders go first. Embodied stories from leaders are surprising, counter-cultural, and repeatable. Asking for stories is rarely sufficient. Instead, invite stories through intentional prompts like, “Tell me about a time you felt more engaged, alive, and happiest in your work here.” Received stories are the ones told by employees. Adding an emotion word to an invitation such as, “What's a time you were proud?” often surfaces more genuine stories. David is now a Coaching for Leaders expert partner. In this episode of Convergence.fm, Ashok Sivanand sits down with Farhan Thawar, Head of Engineering at Shopify, to go behind the scenes of how Shopify not only keeps pace with rapid change but leads it. The discussion explores how Shopify became one of the first platforms to allow merchants to sell products directly inside ChatGPT, why that move challenges Amazon's dominance, and what it takes to build a company that learns faster than it fails. Farhan explains the systems that make being first repeatable rather than accidental, including Shopify's internal LLM proxy, MCP servers, experimentation culture, and democratized tooling. If you are a CEO, COO, or CTO looking to scale through culture, systems, and intentional technology adoption, this episode shows what it looks like to operate with conviction and long-term relevance. Key Topics and Moments: Shopify and OpenAI's commerce integration. The same day OpenAI enabled in-chat shopping, Shopify merchants were already live. Farhan explains what it takes for a company of Shopify's size to move with that kind of speed Competing with Amazon through culture, not size. Shopify has 3,000 engineers compared to Amazon's 35,000+, yet continues to outpace bigger players by focusing on coherence, focus, and empowered execution rather than bureaucracy and scale. The meaning behind Tobi Lütke's April AI memo. Farhan discusses how Shopify operationalized its “AI is non-optional” stance, what baseline expectations look like, and how performance is evaluated in an AI-native organization. AI reflexivity and the “three buckets.” Farhan explains how teams are taught to recognize “AI not allowed,” “AI optional,” and “AI mandatory” problems so that employees develop instinct for when to reach for AI — and when to pick up the screwdriver. The risk of ‘vibe coding' and why hand tools still matter. Farhan shares lessons from real incidents inside and outside Shopify, like the Cloudflare outage caused by unreviewed AI-generated code, and how engineering leaders teach judgment, not just prompting. The LLM Proxy and MCP Servers. Inside look at how Shopify democratized AI across departments by building an internal platform that connects all major models and corporate data sources, enabling every employee to build workflows and ask intelligent questions — not just engineers. AI budgeting vs. SaaS budgeting. Farhan explains why AI usage isn't treated like traditional SaaS spend and how Shopify encourages heavy experimentation by rewarding impact rather than punishing token consumption. Experimentation as a system. How teams are encouraged to show work at 20%, not 80%, and why the speed of learning, not perfection, is the true productivity metric. Subtraction as leadership. Farhan shares how founders and executives must delete outdated processes, rules, and layers of bureaucracy to make room for new ideas — why process should only exist if it makes something possible or 10x better. Hiring and growing AI-native talent. Why Shopify doubled down on internships, hiring 1,000 interns this year and next, and how younger engineers push full-timers to stay current by being born AI-native “centaurs.” Responsibility versus accountability. Why leaders can delegate tasks but not responsibility, and how to stay in the work without disempowering the team. Certainty as intolerance. Farhan's reflection on why overconfidence kills creativity, and how leaders can replace fixed beliefs with wayfinding, curiosity, and adaptive decision-making. Rapid-fire reflections for CEOs. Ashok and Farhan close with lessons on showing unfinished work, modeling curiosity, and removing friction as a cultural operating system. Who Should Listen: Mid-market CEOs, COOs, and CTOs building adaptable organizations that can scale. Leaders focused on culture and transformation, not just technology adoption. Operators who want to apply product thinking and modern software practices to traditional industries. Notable Quotes: “We have a baseline expectation of using AI. 01:02:26 – Nixon Ends the Gold Standard: A Controlled Demolition of the DollarMarking the anniversary of August 15, 1971, the host recounts how Nixon severed the dollar's tie to gold, ending the Bretton Woods system. He details the lead-up, including the removal of silver from U.S. coinage, France's gold repatriation under De Gaulle, and the resulting shift from a stable bi-metallic economy to a fiat system fueling inflation, de-industrialization, and wealth transfer. 01:17:13 – De-Industrialization, Debt Expansion, and the Rise of Crony CapitalismExplains how taking the dollar off gold dovetailed with free trade policies and the 1973 formation of the Trilateral Commission. America's manufacturing base was hollowed out, trade surpluses ended, and debt skyrocketed from $371 billion in 1971 to $37 trillion today. The conversation ties this to corporate consolidation, zombie companies kept alive by central bank policy, and a rigged system benefiting elites. 01:22:33 – The Petrodollar's Decline and Global De-DollarizationReviews the 1970s Kissinger-brokered petrodollar agreement with Saudi Arabia, its quiet disappearance last year, and the shift toward multi-currency oil sales. Discusses BRICS expansion, the ruble's rebound after being gold-linked in 2022, and the dollar's shrinking share of global trade from 53% to the low 40s. Notes that central banks are hoarding gold over their own currencies. 01:44:06 – National Security State Origins and the Truman LegacyReads and comments on a Lou Rockwell article tracing the 1947 creation of the CIA, NSA, and the modern national security state. Argues that Truman's policies institutionalized interventionism, subverted the republic's founding principles, and laid the groundwork for perpetual war and surveillance. Links these shifts to Israel's 1948 recognition, Cold War militarization, and the influx of Nazi scientists under Operation Paperclip. 01:52:06 – The 80-Year Cycle, Operation Paperclip, and Cultural TransformationReflects on how the summer of 1947 reshaped U.S. governance through security agencies, covert power structures, and foreign entanglements. Notes the cultural influence of imported Nazi scientists, with Wernher von Braun as a public face, and draws connections to Cold War propaganda and the militarization of space. 02:00:58 – JFK's Secret Societies SpeechReading and analysis of JFK's 1961 warning about “secret societies” and “monolithic conspiracies,” framing it as timeless advice against government secrecy and press complicity. 02:07:44 – Operation Paperclip & Nazi InfluenceReview of how former Nazi scientists were integrated into U.S. programs after WWII, influencing aerospace, weapons development, and Cold War strategy, with Wernher von Braun as a central figure. 02:15:39 – CIA & MKUltra OriginsExposes early CIA abuses, including the MKUltra mind-control program, as part of a broader national security state agenda to manipulate populations and undermine dissent. 02:47:09 – Trump, Tariffs, and Trade RisksCritiques Trump's tariff strategy as potentially damaging to consumers and allies, warning it could backfire by pushing more nations toward BRICS-style trade blocs. 03:07:17 – NASA Moon Base Plans & Apollo SkepticismNASA's push for a 100-kilowatt lunar reactor sparks analysis of the Artemis program, U.S.–China competition, and a deeper dive into why America hasn't returned to the moon in decades, despite having done so multiple times in the past. 03:33:56 – Space Race & Global Power ShiftReflection on how space exploration intersects with geopolitical changeovers, comparing today's “fourth turning” to post-WWII institution building, and speculating on the existence of a secret space program. 03:45:54 – Red Heifer Prophecy & Third TempleMr. Anderson connects current events in Israel to biblical prophecy, questioning modern evangelical support for temple reconstruction and warning about theological and political implications. 03:50:56 – Decline of Religious ActivismCritique of modern Christian leadership for failing to visibly oppose cultural trends such as the transgender movement, contrasting this with past Catholic and evangelical activism. 03:58:52 – Gold Standard Anniversary & Fiat Currency WarningMarking the anniversary of Nixon taking the U.S. off the gold standard, the host warns about the destructive effects of fiat currency and urges listeners to consider precious metals. Our culture in the United States is changing. Whether it's in film, fashion, or even just social discourse, the previous narratives based around identity politics are fading away. A recent focal point of this shift has been on an American Eagle ad featuring actress Sydney Sweeney. Despite online criticism, the company refused to back away from its advertisement, and now even President Donald Trump has weighed in.Even officials who used to come out strongly in support of defunding the police, or who made statements criticizing the police, are now changing their narratives. And this includes Democratic mayoral candidate for New York City, Zohran Mamdani.Views expressed in this video are opinions of the host and guests and do not necessarily reflect the views of The Epoch Times.
Caitlin Clark has taken on the legacy of LeBron James, the old king, and has become the new "Woman King." This is a story about our values — traditional values. There is a strong desire for the "girl next door." The same desire exists for the "boy next door," but people seem hesitant to embrace it. Whitlock will explain why hip-hop is dead and the Morgan Wallen concert walkout is being hailed as one of the highest honors in culture. Popular figures like Drake, Roger Clemens, and Brett Favre joined him in this walkout, along with Mahomes and Kelce in Kansas City. We are witnessing a cultural shift that is evident in both sports and music. A recent New York Times piece by John Kosner compares Caitlin to legends like Muhammad Ali, Michael Jordan, and Tiger Woods. In other news, Caitlin Clark led the WNBA All-Star voting with 1.2 million votes and sold out her Kobe shoes in seconds. Rich Paul is pushing for a potential trade for LeBron James, but the Lakers are not paying attention. Has he lost his relevance? Jay Skapinac discusses whether Kobe Bryant is overrated and the decline of LeBron James. Lastly, Steve Kim joins to talk about the Jalen Ramsey trade — was it a good idea for the Steelers to give up Minkah for Ramsey and a tight end?
