This final episode features insiders into two of the men's Final Four teams: Jesse Newell, who covers the Kansas Jayhawks for The Star, and Steve Wiseman, who covers the Duke Blue Devils for the News & Observer. Saturday's semifinal games feature four of the best programs in Duke, Kansas, North Carolina and Villanova. Newell and Wiseman provide insight into how each of the teams they cover got here, including how the Blue Devils overcame the pressure of a final season under coach Mike Krzyzewski and the keys to the Jayhawks' success in the tournament. The trio also discusses the magnitude of these Final Four matchups, keys to each game, the possibility of a Duke-Kansas title game and who might hit the first buzzer-beating shot of March Madness.  Learn more about your ad choices. In this episode, Matt Pennie joins the show to break down all of the action we saw this weekend during the Sweet 16 and the Elite 8. Particularly, we focus on the teams who progressed to the Final Four. We talk for 25 minutes about Duke, its prospects, and Coach K. Is Mark Williams a lottery guy? Who is Duke's second-best prospect?  Then we move forward into Kansas, Villanova and North Carolina, and dive deep into some of the players who have had some success over the course of the tournament. We then move toward the Sweet 16 action we saw, including some stuff on Jaden Ivey, Chet Holmgren, Jaylin Williams, and plenty more. Then my internet goes out and we end the podcast early! On today's episode, Jason and Producer Rob G bring you wall-to-wall reaction to the Thursday slate of games in the Sweet 16 of the NCAA Tournament. Things got off to a rocky start when the top-seeded Gonzaga Bulldogs (a team that our fearless leader dropped over $50,000 on in a Calcutta auction) got upset by the Arkansas Razorbacks. Yes, the officiating was bad, but it was clear pretty early on that the Zags just could not handle the Arkansas pressure. Chet Holmgren, Drew Timme and Andrew Nembhard are all fine student athletes, but they didn't have enough 'dog' in them to physically compete with a scrappy Arkansas team. In many ways, Gonzaga in college basketball is eerily similar to Notre Dame in college football: a fine program that isn't quite tough enough to hang with the big boys of the Power 5 conferences. Later, the guys explain why they believe that most sports fans should be rooting for Coach K, Paolo Banchero and the Duke Blue Devils to win the NCAA Tournament this year. With so many #1 seeds exiting early (Gonzaga, Arizona and Baylor), the sport needs either a marquee player or a marquee school to win it all. Thankfully, Duke has both. If the goal of the NCAA Tournament is to bring eyeballs to your product, the powers that be who run college basketball better have their fingers crossed that we get something like Duke-Kansas in the championship game as opposed to an Arkansas-Houston rock fight. Finally, Jason and Rob G close the show with a preview of the entire Friday slate of the Sweet 16. Here's to hoping the Blue Bloods flex their muscle! Scott Soshnick, Michael Barr and Eben Novy-Williams discuss a host of issues related to the business of sports, including two recent stories about young athletes blazing new trails in their question to reach the pros. In the first, high school basketball star R.J. Hampton announced this week that he will play basketball professionally in Australia instead of playing in college as he awaits the 2020 NBA Draft. In the second, 19-year-old pitcher Carter Stewart signed to play baseball professionally in Japan instead of re-entering the MLB Draft. Both Stewart and Hampton will make more money in the near-term, and roll the dice that their development will also accelerate due to a higher level of competition. Also talked about is the $110 million sale of Sports Illustrated to Authentic Brands Group.  Hosts: Scott Soshnick, Michael Barr and Eben Novy-WilliamsProducer: Madena Parwana
