George Robert Cleary is a predator involved in the Fortson, Georgia investigation. He is best known for making a run for it when seeing another suspected predator bust go down, as well as one of two predators in the sting unable to make bond. A pizza delivery man, George was thirty-six at the time he began chatting with a girl he believed to be fourteen-years-old. After a few minutes of talking, Cleary inquired about her dating history and whether she preferred older men. He claimed he enjoyed using his tongue and having lots of sex. He traveled two hours to the sting house with condoms, porn, and lubricant, and he would pass it by three times to look around. After seeing Gerald White being arrested outside by the Harris County Sheriff's Department for the third time, he fled to the highway to try to make good on his escape. During the attempt, he was stopped and taken into custody. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Episode 177 Perhaps most people paying close objective attention to fatal police interactions with black citizens would roll their eyes whenever Benjamin Crump gets involved, but today we will discuss two such incidents where the officers involved may actually be wrong and Crump's involvement, while not ideal, is understandable. In May and July of 2024 respectively, Roger Fortson and Sonya Massey were killed in their interactions with the police. What were the circumstances that led to their deaths? Were the killings justified? In today's episode of the Removing Barriers Podcast, we will discuss these questions and more, never forgetting that Fortson and Massey were both souls for which Christ died. If you'd like immediate and early access to Law of Self Defense content, consider becoming a Law of Self Defense Member for just 99¢ here --- https://lawofselfdefense.com/trialIntentionally and falsely characterizing someone of having committed a crime is generally defamation per se, meaning that the person wrongfully accused is presumptively entitled to monetary damages. Even worse, when this kind of unmerited and gratuitous reputation destruction is done for reasons of personal profit—a few more YouTube bucks, for example--it would seem particularly contemptible behavior. Today we explore the question of whether explicitly labeling former Deputy Eddie Duran's shooting of Airman Roger Fortson as having “executed Fortson for exercising his Constitutional rights” might qualify as precisely this kind of defamation per se. This question is, of course, prompted by the repeated publication of Attorney William Kirk, on his YouTube channel Washington Gun Law (WGL) of the explicit claim that Duran executed Fortson merely because he was exercising his Constitutional rights.Promised links from today's show:LOSD: REAL LAWYER | The Roger Fortson Shooting: Awful? Ep. 62 Justified or not? The Air Man and the Deputy – Fatal Officer Involved Shooting – Breakdown with Daniel Carr of Police Law News. Once again, I am turning to Daniel Carr of Police Law News to break down a controversial, tragic incident. This is the incident involving an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy and his response to a domestic disturbance that led to the use of deadly force that took the life of US Air Force Airman Roger Fortson on May 3, 2024. Mr. Fortson answered the door after the deputy announced himself. Mr. Fortson was holding his gun pointed down at the ground. The deputy perceived this as a deadly threat and used deadly force. The deputy was later fired and in August was arrested and charged with one count of manslaughter. As Daniel and I say, this one is tough. There is much to be sad about. There are many opinions. There is much criticism. The media's coverage at times is inflammatory and inaccurate. We wanted to discuss it in as fair a manner as possible. You can find Daniel at Police Law News on all social media. Abhilash Bhaskaran is a suspected predator involved in the Fortson, Georgia sting. He is known for his "for sex I am not coming" line, which has become legendary among the TCaP community. He is also known for absconding during his post-sting prosecution. Thirty-four-year-old Abhilash was a director of software development for a large computer company who started a chat with a Perverted Justice decoy posing as a thirteen-year-old girl named "Amy." Before they ended the chat, Abhilash claimed he could be in a lot of trouble because having sex with a minor is classified as rape. When he arrived at the house and made small talk with the decoy, Chris confronted him. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Today's LIVE show is in response to the video posted on August 25 by the channel "Washington Gun Law" (Attorney William Kirk) regarding the shooting death of Roger Fortson by a Florida deputy back in May. The deputy was responding to reports of an apparently violent domestic violence complaint when Fortson responded to the door knock with a gun in hand--at which point the deputy shot Fortson.Kirk had previously concluded that the shooting of Fortson was an outright execution for Fortson having merely exercised his Second Amendment rights. I critiqued Kirk's conclusion that the Fortson shooting was an outright execution on the basis that (despite claiming to be a criminal defense attorney providing legal analysis) he never made a single reference to any relevant Florida use-of-force law whatever, nor entertained any legal argument that might favor the deputy who shot Fortson. It is frankly unimaginable to me that a criminal defense attorney can offer a legal analysis to the public on a use-of-event of high public interest and controversy without even once considering the likely defendant's legal defenses. In my own critique I made actual use of the relevant Florida law that, combined with the facts available, provides a sound foundation for the legal conclusion that the deputy's shooting of Fortson was lawful, if awful. The Kirk video we'll be taking a look at today is apparently in part a response to my critique.Full disclosure: I have not myself watched this Attorney Kirk video, so I'll be seeing it for the first time during today's live stream. So join me for my own LIVE response to Kirk's latest video in this series at 1PM ET!In the interests of full transparency, here's my previous LOSD legal analysis of this unfortunate shooting (along with WGL content links):LOSD: REAL LAWYER | The Roger Fortson Shooting: Awful? Currently we're being downloaded in 113 countries! Thank you! With the May 3rd, 2024, shooting and killing of Sr. U.S. Airman Roger Fortson in his off-base home in Fort Walton, FL, by an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy, we shine the antiseptic light of the truth in this deep, thorough and investigatory episode of Light ‘Em Up on the killing of black men in their homes by law enforcement.Click the link to view the available Body Worn Camera footage + extra coverage on the Fortson case. This isn't a topic anyone is talking about or wants to hear — these are precisely the topics we cover. In a time of uncertainty, facts help guide and educate. The cold hard facts bear out evidence that the 2nd Amendment's “Right to keep and bear arms” as well as the Castle Doctrine DO NOT apply equally nor consistently for individuals of color as it does for Caucasians. Note well: (The Castle Doctrine is a common law principle which states that individuals have the right to use reasonable force, including deadly force, to protect themselves against an intruder in their home.)In this episode we'll unpack the: ♦ Actions taken by the Deputy Sherriff before, during and after the 6 shots he emptied into Mr. Fortson. We'll examine what crucial dispatch and on scene information he had when he responded to the call. ♦ Examine similar fact-patterns in the cases of Amir Locke, asleep on the sofa in his cousin's Minneapolis, MN apartment, Donovan Lewis (in his home in Columbus, Ohio) and the “Open Carry Rights” of young 12-year-old Tamir Rice (in Cleveland, Ohio).♦ Introduce you to a little-known concept of “dispatch priming” (where the 9-11 dispatch officer “primes” the officer with information which can lead to “mistake of fact” deadly confrontations…as in the Tamir Rice shooting death with the Cleveland Division of Policing. The fact remains: Good intel saves lives; bad intel gets people killed.♦ We'll review closely the language of the U.S. Supreme Court ruling in Graham v. Connor, 490 U.S. 386 (1989) which is used daily to determine the legality of every UoF (Use of Force). It's imperative that every person understands and comprehends the key components of the legal holding of this case, so much so that that we will itemize them verbatim in our “Show Liner-Notes” for this episode here.♦ We'll expose the harsh history of many of the founding U.S. states on how they perceived black people as “property” and spoke unequivocally regarding their “rights, privileges and immunities” to access to firearms. This isn't argument nor conjecture, but the real-world fact pattern that we are faced with. We feel like we constantly ask this same question: Where do we go from here? Why do we keep coming back to this again and again? Will anything ever change? The most recent effort in the U.S. House, The George Floyd Justice in Policing Act of 2020, is just as dead as its namesake. We truly believe simply because this bill bears the name of George Floyd, no Republican will vote for it. It would be political suicide to do so. There seems to be no hope for it passing.Tune in for the explosive details. Follow our sponsors Newsly & Feedspot We want to hear from you!

AP correspondent Jackie Quinn reports on the funeral for a Black U.S. Air Force member who was fatally shot in Florida by a deputy.
American Law Enforcement Officers have a difficult job - they must hold two conflicting ideas in balance every day. The first is the "duty" to protect and serve the public by enforcing laws. Two days ago, Attorney William Kirk, the President of law firm Washington Gun Law, released a YouTube video on his extremely popular channel (~360,000 subscribers) providing legal analysis of the tragic shooting death of Roger Fortson. The title of that video: "The Florida Man Who Was Executed for Exercising His Constitutional Rights." (Find it here: https://youtu.be/IWepSw11YiA?si=_mxXs...)Given that this analysis was by a fellow attorney popular with the gun community, I eagerly looked forward to his analysis. It was, to say the least, disappointing. Indeed, a good case can be made that the video not only failed to provide anything resembling sound legal analysis, it was rife with emotionally-laden misinformation. Indeed, the video makes zero--as in zip, zilch, none--reference to any relevant Florida law that would determine if Fortson's shooting was legally justified. Not a word. In my opinion, criminal defense lawyers in particular should do better when covering such high-profile, emotionally-charged use-of-force events. Social media has been buzzing over the last few days about the tragic and unfortunate incident where an Okaloosa County Sheriff's Deputy shot and killed Senior Airmen Roger Fortson in his home while he was legally armed. Emotions are running high, people are rightfully upset and concerned by the officer's body camera video. While at the same time, the Fortson's family attorney Ben Crump, is working overtime spreading lies and misinformation about the incident. In America we are blessed to have the United States Constitution that protects citizen's rights against unlawful seizure at the hands of the government. We often talk about our rights, but we often forgo the important conversation of the responsibilities that come with our rights and how we use them. Legal does not always mean practical when it comes to our rights, and sometimes we push the limits of our rights beyond common sense and suffer unintended consequences. In this episode, I give my take on all of this in reference to this horrible incident.

On Friday, May 3 a Florida deputy responded to a domestic violence call. Arriving at the apartment complex the deputy was met by the woman who'd made the call, who directed him to apartment 1401, in which she believed the violence to be occurring. The deputy knocked on the door, standing on either side for purposes of safety. When the door opened, the deputy was presented with a man with a gun plainly visible in his hand. The deputy immediately drew his service pistol and shot the man, killing him. That man would turn out to be Roger Fortson, a US Airman who was not, in fact, involved in a domestic violence event, and who by all accounts was doing nothing illegal at all when fatally shot by the deputy. Fueled by the usual lies of race baiter Benjamin Crump, as well as by visions of how the world might be if perfect, the internet is hysterical with outrage. Could this tragic shooting nevertheless be lawful? Is it necessarily murder? Manslaughter? Or is it simply not a crime at all under the law of self-defense?Join me for an EMOTION-LESS, LAW-BASED analysis of the police shooting of Roger Fortson. Fortson opened an apartment door and was shot immediately. The black airman was allegedly holding a pistol pointed downward and was not given time to relinquish his firearm or commands to obey. In Idaho, prosecutors declined to prosecute a high school student accused of racially terrorizing the University of Utah's women's basketball team during the NCAA tournament. They cited insufficient evidence. In Illinois, John P. Shadbar is facing "hate crime" charges after shooting his White female neighbor who's married to a black male. Okaloosa County Sheriff released body-camera video of a fatal use of force against and armed apartment dweller. This after race-baiter and hate monger blood money attorney Ben Crump, got involved. Roger Fortson, 23, was an Airman, and according to multiple news agencies, was a black person. Of course the tragedy of a possibly mistaken address or identity is not enough, race must be brought into the issue. The politicians and the lawyers don't care if the cities burn, if departments are defunded, and there is no one to come help when you dial 9-1-1. because by then they will have gotten what they already wanted: more power for themselves. Former cop Eric and current cop Tyler take on the case-- the other side is about to stoke the flames of hatred with lies, but these guys will tell you their perspective from years spent behind the badge. Florida police have released video of the shocking killing of 23-year-old U.S. Airman Roger Fortson by Okaloosa County Police. The incident, which took place last Friday, has sparked outrage and demands for accountability. Civil rights attorney Ben Crump addressed the media on Thursday along with Fortson's family. Crump says Fortson, an active duty senior airman, was at home when deputies responded to a call mistakenly targeting his apartment. During the incident, Fortson, feeling threatened after a series of aggressive knocks and receiving no answer, armed himself with a legally owned firearm. Moments later, deputies announced themselves and when he opened the door, shot him six times upon seeing him armed. A witness connected with Fortson via FaceTime reported that he was alone and not causing any disturbance. His death raises critical questions about law enforcement's use of force. (AURN News) - The Pentagon is responding to the shooting death of a 23-year-old Black airman who was killed by an Okaloosa County, Florida deputy last week. Roger Fortson was shot and killed by the deputy on May 3rd after authorities responded to a call about a disturbance. Famed attorney Ben Crump held a news conference Thursday condemning Fortson's death. Attorney Crump says that deputies had the wrong apartment. “You are free in your home from people using excessive forces and searches and seizures of your home. And Roger had that right. He had that right to the Second Amendment. He had that right to the Fourth Amendment,” Crump said. "He was protecting us so that we could have that right," said Chantemekki Fortson, Roger Fortson's mother, referring to her son's military service and the rights afforded by the Second and Fourth Amendments that Crump cited. Okaloosa County Sheriff Eric Aden said in a statement that a deputy "responded to a call of a disturbance in progress where he encountered an armed man. The deputy shot the man, who later succumbed to his injuries." Body camera footage of the shooting was publicly released this week. Crump also released a FaceTime video showing Fortson on a call with his girlfriend at the time he was shot. At a Pentagon briefing, Press Secretary Air Force Maj. Gen. Pat Ryder addressed Fortson's death, saying "The Secretary is following this closely. And I would like to offer our thoughts and prayers to airman Fortson's family. We are of course saddened at the loss of one of our own. I know that his death is currently under investigation, so I'll have to refer you to the Florida civil authorities for any questions about what happened, but we do know that his family is grieving and we offer our sincere condolences." The shooting has sparked outrage among civil rights activists. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement is investigating the tragic incident. Learn more about your ad choices. William Rowell was a 37-year-old service tech operator for slot machines who was caught in the Fortson, Georgia investigation. Before William arrived at the sting, footage from a gas station shows he stopped there to buy a box of condoms. He arrives driving a white van (of course he does), so the decoy, wearing only towels to appear she showered, came out to lure him in. William, looking like he hasn't showered in weeks, complains to the decoy that she didn't have to shower. As he gets in the house, he wants to follow the decoy to her room where she said she was going to change in. Once Chris comes out of the curtains, he racewalks out of the house, saying Nope as he exits. This is another Hurrdat Media Production.
