Bournemouth's Monday night victory against Fulham came just at the right time for Andoni Iraola. After a period of poor results, he masterminded a 1-0 win over the Cottagers where he home side's performance was impactful, resilient, and resourceful - and as a result of getting the three points, Cherries have elevated themselves to eighth in the Premier League. The victory ensures that European hopes remain for Bournemouth's fans, but it has also coincided with some rumours which suggesting that owner Bill Foley is trying to tie-down the services of our Basque boss for longer, with a contract extension. Having overseen a record equalling season, maybe having tangible evidence of Bournemouth's hunger to "always advance" is just what Andoni needs in order to commit his future to the Cherries. Andoni Iraola and Marco Silva are having contrasting fortunes recently, but both are still looking at the possibility of European qualification for their respective sides, and the upcoming match in front of the cameras between the Cherries and the Cottagers *feels* like it could be pivotal. At the same time, both managers have been inexorably linked with the Tottenham Hotspur top job, and with Daniel Levy's patience wearing thin with current Spurs gaffer Ange Postecoglu, the two head coaches that lock horns on Monday night will undoubtedly have more scrutiny cast upon them from the powers that be in North London. Sam and Tom are the Queens Park to discuss our opponents, provide the latest injury news, and predict BOTH sides. Visit the QP at 482 Holdenhurst Rd, Bournemouth, BH8 9AR. Fulham have done it! No 1-0, no red cards but plenty of nerves. Manchester United are left smarting after Bernd Leno saves penalties from Lindelof and Zirkzee to see Fulham through to the next round of the FA Cup. Silva's side ground down a very poor Man United team through 90 minutes, extra-time and finally, penalties. George is joined by Yasmin, Elizabeth and Luke Resch, on his Fulhamish debut, to bask in the glorious sunshine that comes after beating Man United at Old Trafford. It was by no means a beautiful or entertaining game of football for the neutral but it did have Fulham fans' heartbeats sky-rocketing. Bassey's header put Fulham ahead in the final stages of the first-half but a moment of magic from Bruno Fernandes threatened to send Fulham packing. The second-half and extra-time were littered with Man United chances but Leno's heroic hand of god clinched victory for the Cottagers. In part two, they answer some of your listener questions. Is there a feeling better than this on a magnificent spring morning? Is Bernd Leno pinching Mark Schwarzer's spot for second best all time Fulham keeper? Jack and Dimi commiserate as Newcastle lose their second home game in a row while the Cottagers complete a league double over the Magpies. We discuss Newcastle's home struggles against the Premier League's mid-table clubs as they lost their fourth of the season against teams below them in the league. Why is it happening and what can be done about it? We also touch on transfers as Lloyd Kelly looks like joining Miggy on his way out of St James' Park as the Magpies appear to clear the decks before hopefully a summer refresh, although it is risky in the short-term as we get closer to the business end of the season.
Jack Elderton and Cal Goodall break down Graham Potter's first Premier League game in charge of West Ham, a 3-2 win over Fulham at the London Stadium, discussing how the Hammers beat the Cottagers despite missing key players like Jarrod Bowen and Niclas Füllkrug, the impact Potter has had on the team and fans since his appointment, the tactical switch that allowed West Ham to take control of the game, asking about Edson Álvarez's future at the post-match press conference, Carlos Soler's new role and much more. It is welcome to the London Stadium for Graham Potter on Tuesday night as West Ham take on high-flying Fulham. To get all the insights on the Cottagers, we talk to The Sun's Simon Rice and Dom Betts from the Fulhamish Podcast on the brilliance of Marco Silva, the key players to watch, their recent change in formation and how ex-Hammer Issa Diop is getting on. Clint Dempsey is one of the most successful men's players in international soccer history. He starred for the USMNT, delivering big goals in multiple World Cups, and captained teams to tournament victories. But his biggest impact on American soccer may be the success he had playing in England for Fulham. From his arrival in January 2007, Dempsey became a big part of Fulham's plans. He helped the Cottagers avoid relegation with a May 5th goal over Liverpool, and it was the first of many big goals he'd score for the club. But none was bigger than his 2010 goal against Juventus in the Europa League. Having improbably worked their way back from a three goals deficit in the tie with the Italian giants, Dempsey entered the game as a late substitute and delivered an audacious goal that would go down in both the Fulham and American soccer history books. Doug Allison recruited Dempsey to play at Furman and helped him develop into the player that would win the MLS Rookie of the Year award in 2004, and ultimately earn a starring role at Fulham. Allison joined the show to talk about what makes Dempsey a special player and human, how playing in Europe was always a key goal, and how his career has impacted soccer in America. Matt fires through the results from week five of the Premier League. The biggest story was Manchester City grabbing a draw, with the final kick, against 10-man Arsenal. Chelsea throttle West Ham 3-0 popping all the bubbles. Finally, Fulham hand Newcastle their first defeat of the season with a convincing 3-1 win in the Cottagers favor. Week 6 predictions end the show. Hope you enjoy!
Keegan and Jack assess what went wrong at Craven Cottage as Newcastle succumbed to a 3-1 defeat at the hands of Fulham. It was an uphill battle from the first half as the Cottagers raced into a deserved 2-0 lead as the Magpies midfield was dominated. We ask what is going wrong with the midfield, and what does Sandro Tonali have to do to get a start? We also discuss whether the ongoing destabilisation of the club is having a knock on effect into the performances of the team, as results finally catch up with the generally poor showings this season, and the mood around the club darkens.

Many variables contributed to the evolution of Fulhamerica. From new ownership, to ambition, to the growth of American players in England at the right time. But, unbeknownst to many, the door opening moment for US soccer players at Fulham FC may have been a decision Mohamed Al-Fayed made to bring over a trusted executive, American Lee Hoos, from his Harrods business to the front office of the Cottagers. Hoos wasn't a football man, but he was a shrewd business man that worked his way into more influential positions companies in the United States before moving to London for the opportunity to work with Al-Fayed. Hoos, who recently stepped down as CEO of Queens Park Rangers but remained on as Chairman, joined Founding Futbol to talk about his journey to Fulham and beyond. He shares how when he moved to Fulham, there remained a connection to his homeland. American players and agents felt more comfortable picking up the phone and soon, Hoos was able to help the club consider that, maybe, a market opportunity existed with American players. Eventually, some of those players became club legends and are now inextricably intertwined with Fulham's identity. The Reds season is still alive after a much needed win at Fulham got their title challenge back on track. Goals from Alexander-Arnold, Gravenberch and Jota sunk the Cottagers in what was a more comfortable win than many expected. TLW Editor Dave Usher is joined by Julian Richards and Dan Thomas to look back on this game as well as previewing the midweek trip to Goodison. There's also a heated discussion on refs, PGMOL, Forest's bizarre statement and the impact officiating has had on this year's Premier League.

Host Ricky Sacks is joined by Lee McQueen, Russ Williams and Jason McGovern as Tottenham missed the chance to move into the Premier League top four as Rodrigo Muniz scored two more goals to fire Fulham to an impressive victory at Craven Cottage. Brazilian Muniz found the net either side of Sasa Lukic's first strike for the Cottagers to take his total to seven goals in his past seven games. The striker slotted home in the first half after controlling Antonee Robinson's cross and then reacted quickest to bundle in the loose ball at a second-half corner in a fully deserved win for the home side. Spurs, who would have gone above fourth-placed Aston Villa with victory, were surprisingly lacklustre from the outset. They would have gone behind early on if not for blocks by Radu Dragusin and Cristian Romero to deny Andreas Pereira, while Guglielmo Vicario also saved well from Lukic. James Maddison shot narrowly wide in the first half and Timo Werner failed to convert with the goal gaping in the second as Ange Postecoglou's side failed to back up impressive wins over Crystal Palace and Villa in the previous two games. Well, positive goal difference was nice while it lasted! Manchester United back to nought in goal difference and perhaps back to zero chance of finishing in the Premier League's top four after a late 2-1 defeat at home to Fulham, an ever-so-rare victory for the Cottagers at Old Trafford. It comes in a week of great excitement for the club as Sir Jim Ratcliffe, INEOS and Trawlers Limited were confirmed as co-owners of the club, bringing with them ambition, vision and relieving frankness. On the latest episode of the Manchester United Weekly Podcast, hosts Harry Robinson and Jack Tait dissect that Fulham defeat, play Guess the Player, give you the Academy Briefing, consider Ratcliffe's early statements and how that fits into the historical context of Manchester United and preview Wednesday's FA Cup tie at Nottingham Forest. Everton's run in the Carabao Cup ended in heartbreak after losing to a penalty shootout in the Carabao Cup quarter-final against Fulham. "Last week, we were held to a goalless draw at home against Fulham which saw us relinquish top spot in the Premier League, but a trip to lowly Leicester City offered a chance to get back to winning ways. After the setback against the Cottagers, the following week would throw up a trip to the Walkers Stadium to face the Foxes, who had been struggling at the foot of the table but had won three of their previous four games to rally to 15th. Attentions were also already turning to our final Champions League group game against Lokomotiv Moscow, where a win would seal our unlikely spot in the knockout stages having lost our first three matches.” Original Piece by Jonathon Rogers: Invincibles This Week: Late Heartache at Leicester All quoted content uses arsenal.com as the source

"Last week, we breezed past Birmingham City by a 3-0 margin to remain top of the table as well as thrash Inter Milan 5-1 at the San Siro, however the goals would dry up when Fulham arrived in north London. We headed into the game on the crest of a wave thanks to our success in Italy, which reignited our hopes of progressing into the knockout stages of the Champions League. However, we were still missing Lauren and Martin Keown through suspension after our Old Trafford fracas. The Cottagers were enjoying a fine season themselves and Chris Coleman's team sat fifth in the table heading into this contest having been tipped by many for the drop, but had already amassed over half of the 40 points required to avoid relegation.” Original Piece by Jonathon Rogers: Invincibles This Week: Wenger's Men Slip To Second

It was a game of two halves at Dean Court today as two substitutions in the interval inspired a second half fightback against Fulham which saw Marcus Tavernier and Dom Solanke net a goal each to secure a VITAL three points for Gary O'Neil's men. There was delirium in the stands as Tavs's wonder-strike lit the blue touch paper to inspire a stunning Cherries turnaround against the Cottagers, after a performance which was initially insipid and lifeless. Gary O'Neil needs to amend the negatives and draw on the positives ahead of the visit of high-flying Brighton. The Cherries face the Seagulls on Tuesday night, and with matches under the floodlights always proving special at Dean Court, it is hope that Boscombe can pick up another three points in their bid to escape the relegation mire. Sam and Tom pick through the details of the weekend's win against the Cottagers, with a special analysis of "THE" moment of the weekend... Tigz, this one is for you buddy!
