Send us a text#351 - When I started running, it was not easy trying to find information on running. I relied on Runner's World Magazine. That was in the 1980s. RW was a top-notch magazine back then. I loved it so much! I would read through each issue at least three times. I saved them up too and eventually would cut out articles I especially loved and saved them long after the whole issue was gone. I found other running magazines I loved. Progress, technology chances many things and it's changed the printed word. Most magazines are gone, including most running magazines. Today I focus on what happened to them, including the eventual demise of Runner's World, which, in my opinion, suffered greatly by not sticking to running, instead, following a different path. Let's go back in time and take a look at some of the great running magazines and what made them so great. Send us a textWhat does it really mean to be a "selfish mom"? In this raw and candid episode, I open up about my recent Hashimoto's diagnosis and why it's become my wake-up call to prioritize my health again. After years of putting everyone else first, I'm embarking on a 30-day journey eliminating gluten, dairy, and sugar—not from a place of restriction, but with the hope of reclaiming my energy and feeling like myself again. Many of you have noticed my recent weight changes and asked if I'm using GLP-1s. The answer is no, but I share my honest thoughts on weight loss aids and why sustainable habits matter more than quick fixes. I also tackle the uncomfortable truth that losing weight doesn't automatically make you content with your body—something I've learned firsthand after losing over 50 pounds. The reality of life with three boys ages 11, 7, and 2 isn't always Instagram-perfect. I confess to moments of disassociation, feeling overstimulated, and sometimes sitting in my car before entering the house just to catch my breath. These aren't failures—they're necessary adaptations when you're stretched thin. The secret isn't doing it all perfectly; it's getting back in the driver's seat of your life rather than letting life happen to you.For those struggling to find themselves amid the chaos of motherhood, I'm launching a six-week Selfish Mom Method coaching program designed to help you prioritize your mental and physical health while creating sustainable routines. Because here's what I've learned: taking care of yourself isn't selfish—it's the foundation that allows you to show up fully for everyone else.Ready to redefine what being "selfish" really means? Warren Rose returns to The Everyday Ironman Podcast to share an emotional and inspiring recap of his first attempt at a full iron-distance triathlon. From the UK, Warren takes us through his journey — from volunteering at the race the year before to better understand the course, to overcoming setbacks like missing the cutoff in his first stand-alone marathon and even being hit by a car during training.During the Outlaw full-distance race, Warren faced one challenge after another: being punched in the swim, dealing with eye trauma that impacted his bike strategy, and battling hydration issues that derailed his run. Despite missing the final loop cutoff, he crossed the line as an official aqua-bike finisher — all while raising funds for cancer research. This episode is a raw and powerful reminder that triathlon isn't just about finishing — it's about perseverance, purpose, and heart.Hashtags:EverydayIronmanPodcast, #TriathlonPodcast, #AgeGroupAthlete, #IronDistanceTriathlon, #FullDistanceTriathlon, #BrickWorkouts, #RaceDayChallenges, #NeverGiveUp, #Perseverance, #RacingWithPurpose#TriathleteJourney, #RacingForACause, #CancerResearchFit, Healthy & Happy Podcast Welcome to the Fit, Healthy and Happy Podcast hosted by Josh and Kyle from Colossus...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

Rabbi Yisroel Bernath unpacks a fascinating teaching: why does G-d reject the idea of a single-stone altar? At first glance it's just about ancient rituals, but the deeper message is timeless. Real faith and real life can't be built on “one stone” one path, one perspective, one style. True oneness comes from many stones joined together. This class explores how individuality and diversity aren't just tolerated by G-d, they are essential to His plan.Key TakeawaysOneness ≠ sameness: G-d is One, but He created a world of diversity. The danger of single-stone thinking: When we make faith, truth, or life only in our image, we exclude everyone else. The power of many stones: Each person carries a unique piece of truth, and together we make the divine symphony whole.Celebrating difference: Authentic spirituality means honoring the uniqueness of others, not fearing it.Practical takeaway: Stop trying to make others fit your mold; instead, see how their “stone” adds to the altar of life.#diversity #Judaism #Jewish #Torah #TorahPortion #TorahLessons #BibleStudy #oneness #individuality #Unity #Faith #community #pluralism #spiritualgrowth #beloning #community Sign up for "The Forgiveness Lab" HERE: theloverabbi.com/eventsFit, Healthy & Happy Podcast Welcome to the Fit, Healthy and Happy Podcast hosted by Josh and Kyle from Colossus...Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showGot your own question for Rabbi Bernath? Send us a text#345 - You found the PERFECT shoe. You love this shoe. Everything about this shoe makes running SO MUCH FUN. And then it happens. The running shoe company comes out with a new model and it's not the same shoe! NOT AT ALL! It fits completely different! And not in a good way. Everything you loved about this shoe is gone! It's a completely different shoe! Why did the shoe company betray you like that? Because that's what it feels like, betrayal. This week, I write an open letter to shoe companies stating a few reasons, the above is just one, why we runners get frustrated with shoe companies. If I inadvertently left off something you think I should have included, please email me and I can include a follow up in a future episode. And don't miss my book review on the latest Steve Prefontaine biography: The Front Runner: The Life of Steve Prefontaine by Brendan O'Meara! Queer bookstores have long been more than just places to buy books, serving as cultural hubs, safe havens, and essential spaces for connection, representation, and affirmation within the LGBTQ+ community. As we navigate an increasingly hostile political landscape, building and sustaining these spaces is not only an act of resistance, but one of resilience and solidarity. In this episode, Greg Newton and Donnie Jochum, co-founders of the Bureau of General Services—Queer Division (the Bureau), join us to explore what it takes to create and maintain queer infrastructure, how the Bureau continues to provide a platform for storytelling and connection, and what the future holds for this essential community space.Additional Resources:Learn More About the Bureau of General Services – Queer DivisionFollow the Bureau on InstagramSubscribe to the Bureau on YouTubeFollow the Bureau on FacebookFollow Greg on InstagramFollow Donnie on InstagramFit, Healthy & Happy Podcast Welcome to the Fit, Healthy and Happy Podcast hosted by Josh and Kyle from Colossus...Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifySupport the showGet Your Merch
Dating requires intention and skill, whether you're looking for fun or seeking a lifelong partnership. Marriage and family therapist Stacey Hubbard joins us to share her Gottman-based approach for singles navigating the relationship landscape.• Building friendship first is crucial when dating - take things slowly and watch for signs of trustworthiness• The honeymoon phase typically lasts 6-18 months with feel-good chemicals making us more trusting• Understanding the three phases of relationships: limerence (honeymoon), trust-building, and commitment• Many couples skip from honeymoon phase to commitment without properly building trust• Trust indicators include honesty, transparency, proof of alliance, ethical actions, and accountability• Develop a "positive habit of mind" by scanning for what's good rather than focusing on flaws• Successful couples dedicate at least six hours a week to their relationship• Focus on "unique value" (personality, values, interests) rather than just "mate value" (physical attraction)Check out the Lessons in Love for Singles workshop at gottman.com under the singles dropdown, or visit staceyhubbard.com for more resources.Fit, Healthy & Happy Podcast Welcome to the Fit, Healthy and Happy Podcast hosted by Josh and Kyle from Colossus...Listen on: Apple Podcasts SpotifyVisit our site for FREE relationship resources and regular giveaways: Strongermarriage.org Podcast.stongermarriage.org YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@StrongerMarriageLife TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@strongermarriagelife Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/strongermarriagelife/ Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/strongermarriage/ Facebook Marriage Group: https://www.facebook.com/groups/770019130329579 Dr. Dave Schramm: http://drdaveschramm.com http://drdavespeaks.com Dr. Liz Hale: http://www.drlizhale.com/
