On this episode, we're stepping into the fog-shrouded hills of rural Pennsylvania, to a place called Hex Hollow. It's 1928, and what unfolds here isn't just a crime—it's a descent into the abyss of fear, superstition, and the supernatural forces some swear still haunt the hollow today. In 1920's Pennslyvania, Nelson Rehmeyer was a local powwower, a sort of witch. And three men in particular had troubled lives, and believed all their problems stemmed from a curse caused by Nelson. And so a plot began, ending in murder. A murder that was discovered in the most witchcraft-y way possible. In a remote area of York County, Pennsylvania, a two-story clapboard house stands in Rehmeyer's Hollow, aka “Hex Hollow” – where some say the spirit of Nelson Rehmeyer still resides. Perhaps that's because his home was also the site of a real-life terror: the 1928 Hex Hollow Murder, which claimed Nelson's life. The crime made headlines, but it wasn't just the brutal act itself that shocked the nation…it was the fact that the killers believed Nelson Rehmeyer was a malicious witch whose hexes could only be broken in death. Although there is no proof that Nelson Rehmeyer did just that to John Blymire, John was convinced this was the cause of his misfortunes after seeing a local witch. This week we time travel back to the 1800's to bring you some vintage crimes, all in honor of Kelsey's birthday! This one goes out to all the Capricorns out there! For Kelsey's birthday wish she covered H.H. Holmes, a murderer wrapped in an enigma, wrapped in a lot of misleading media coverage. But of course, when you use names like the Murder Hotel or Holmes Horror Castle, things are bound to get blown out of proportion.. so how well do you really know Herman Webster Mudgett? We step forward in time a bit to the 1920's to talk about the Hex Hollow murder in Pennsylvania. This harkens back to our previous episode because the practitioners of an old sort of folk magic in this region believed strongly in curses. And would do almost anything to get rid of one... Alanna tells us the dark tale of how one man's life ended because of a curse, poor Nelson Rehmeyer. And he had no way to ever see it coming.....

Hi there, Ichabodicans. We love you. In this turgid episode, we follow the murders of Nelson Rehmeyer through their trials and sentencing. We even get to see how they all turned out in the end. You won't want to miss this.
Hiya, Ichabodicans! We love you. Today's episode is all about hexes and murder. The two go together like peanut butter and chocolate. Also, if you've got worms, we've got a benediction for them. All God's creatures deserve a good benediction and worms are no different. Never mind that you can't tell which is butt or head. Give those things the benediction they deserve. Today is about the murder of Nelson Rehmeyer in 1928 at the hands of three "hexers." You're not gonna want to miss this. Seriously.
Randy educates us on what Pow Wow is, and how the Pennsylvania Dutch who practiced it handled their affairs. Witches be witchin. Patreon is up. Patreon.com/Stupidhydrogen
The Hex Hollow Murder Occurred in 1928 in then named Rehmeyer's Hollow Pennsylvania near York. It involved a beloved powwower and spiritual healer, Nelson Rehmeyer and three men who were all bound by a curse they believed Nelson had put upon them. We go over the similarities between this case and the Slender Man stabbing as well as delve into the lives of all men involved. Murdering people for witchcraft seems like a far distant history lesson attached to pilgrams and puritans and the like. But less than 100 years ago Nelson Rehmeyer was murdered near York PA for being a well respected Powwower and healer. Join us this week to learn wtf powwow is!
In this, their adrenaline-filled sixth episode, the Keefes drink too much coffee and prattle on about murder. They give rave reviews for this month’s coffee, which hopefully will lead to a sponsorship deal! Even if it does not, they thoroughly enjoy Ocean City Coffee Company. Rob enthralls Lori and Lindy with part two of the H.H. Holmes story. Lindy follows up with a haunting story from her personal coven. And, Lori wraps up this tremendous episode with a story of love, abuse, religion and… MURDER.Pour yourself a hot cup of coffee. Push play. Enjoy the ride!
In Central Pennsylvania from the 1800s-mid 1900s, many people practiced a type of "witchcraft" blending Christianity and European folk magic called Powwow. 30 year John Blymire, a practitioner of Powwow, believed he was laboring under a curse. In order to exorcise the alleged hex, Blymire consulted a number of fellow witches in hopes of discovering the origination of said curse. Blymire along with two teenage accomplices raid the home of a local man, Nelson Rehmeyer, believing him to be the witch behind the curse. Mountain Murders explores the sordid tale of murder, revenge, witchcraft and legend. Join us for the Hex Hollow Pennsylvania Witchcraft Murder.
In tonight's episode, Brock does some amazing research and tells us all about PowWow and the strange case of the Hex Hollow murder. In the late 1920's three men murdered and older gentleman. The motive? A perceived curse put on one of the perpetrators. Good information in this one.Our websitehttps://jgeis1701d.wixsite.com/majesticearsonlyOur emailmajesticearsonlypodcast@gmail.com

Thanks for joining us on the road again for part two of Pennsylvania! This time, we give you the worst German lesson ever and discuss a ghost that plays this little piggy. Our stops this week are Hex Hollow in York, and The Logan Inn in New Hope.Edit: We messed up, y'all! Our twitter is @roadsidehorror...because SOMEONE (Nicole) made us two accounts and we can't get into the other one.
Accusations of Witchcraft in America didn't end with the Salem Witch Trials. In fact, there's a practice of faith-based folk medicine (which some see as black magic) practiced in rural Pennsylvania to this day. This week's featured story takes a look at one of the practitioners of this art, known as Pow Wow. Was Nelson Rehmeyer a witch? Was he the victim of a deranged man obsessed with dark arts? This episode explores it all with a look at Hex Hollow! Elsewhere on the show, we look at two upcoming murder movies, play the Florida Man Game, and decide who died the worst! --- This episode is sponsored by · Anchor: The easiest way to make a podcast. https://anchor.fm/app Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/murdermydude/support
Welcome back to Death by Champagne, the podcast here to keep you up at night! This week we get a little spooky for you guys. Mack gives us a detailed history into the Danvers State Hospital, along with some possible ghostly haunts. And Liv brings you all a tale of witches and hex doctors from Pennsylvania. She dives into the murder of Nelson Rehmeyer in what is referred to as ‘Hex Hollow’. This episode contains foul language, discussions about murder, medical illnesses, and poor patient care. Make sure to grab some five-finger grass (whatever that might be) for this episode because you are in for a primer on powwow healing. Strange Country co-hosts Beth and Kelly discuss the hex murder of 1928--yes, you read that right--when one powwow healer killed another powwow healer he thought was cursing him. So add some dust to your coffee and find that pig's bladder and get ready for some magical thinking. Theme music: Resting Place by A Cast of Thousands. This week, we hop back to 1928 in Pennsylvania, where one man's run of horrible luck results in his suspicions that he was hexed. In the end, a man will lose his life and a town will be forever changed. But eventually there's a hayride, so we'll try to take solace in that. Also, we learn some fun spells that probably won't cure what ails you, find out Scott's awesome insomnia remedy, and learn a very simple method for escaping a state hospital. And for a palate cleanser, stay tuned for a woman who refused to pollute the earth. To be honest, we kinda can't blame her... Leave us a 5-star review on iTunes. In 1928, in York County Pennsylvania, two men murdered another because they believed they were being hexed. The crime caught the attention of the country, as many were astounded to discover that some still believed in witches and curses in the 20th century. Of course, the reality was far darker than even the authorities ever realized. The next year, a group of strangers come together to learn that the Pow-Wow men of York County hold darker secrets than anyone suspected. Secrets worth killing over. Can the strangers come together to find out the truth and stop a great supernatural evil before it's too late? Find out as a full table of veteran and newbie players plunge into the depths of Hex Hollow!
