Picture yourself pushing aside a banana leaf and stepping onto the sand. The waves lap against your bare feet. The water collects in tiny tide pools. Relax and close your eyes. Let the sounds of the sea pull away your anxiety. Focus on the soothing sound of nature. Your heart rate slows. Everything is calm and serene. Why I made this podcast I like the idea of a secret cove – a beach that only you know about. Maybe you go there in your mind. Or maybe it really exists and is down a hidden trail. Or maybe it's a place you went when you were a child and now years later you visit it in your daydream. It's high tide on the northern coast of mainland Shetland – a bitterly icy day but the sun is out, puffins are on the water offshore and fulmars are scouting breeding sites on the nearby cliffs. In a small, seldom visited cove, the waves surge up and down the shore. Recorded by Megan Shersby and introduced by Hannah Tribe. Golden Globe winning actress Meg Tilly, is back with her latest book "The Runway Heiress." We are thrilled to have her on the show to talk about it and much more. She may be best known for her acclaimed Golden Globe-winning lead performance in the movie “Agnes of God,” but Meg Tilly is taking on an exciting new persona these days, as a romance novelist. After successfully publishing six standout young adult and literary women's fiction novels, the Canadian American actress/author decided to write the kind of books she loves to read—romance novels. She self-published SOLACE ISLAND, a romantic suspense set in the Pacific Northwest, to rave reviews in spring 2017. However, that experience taught her she's happiest when she's writing and not involved in the myriad tasks of publishing. She closed out 2017 by signing with Berkley Books for three novels, including a new, improved edition of SOLACE ISLAND, which was released in November 2018. Book 2 in Meg's series, CLIFF'S EDGE, was published in May 2019, and the series finale, HIDDEN COVE, in October 2019. Meg's latest novel, THE RUNAWAY HEIRESS, is a standalone novel set in the world of Hollywood. In this spin-off of Meg's Solace Island series, on the run from her estranged, police lieutenant husband, Sarah Rainsford assumes a new identity and lands a job as personal assistant to Hollywood golden boy director, Mick Talford. Soon their relationship becomes more than boss and employee, and Sarah and Mick join forces to keep her out of harm's way. But danger trails them. Will their desperate efforts be enough to keep them both alive? Meg's exciting new novel will be published July 27, 2021 as a mass market paperback, eBook and audiobook.

Not from Nantle but from our own research.. The Court of Hefaydd Hen THE COURT OF HEFEYDD HEN (or Hyfaidd Hen) – unknown, but, according to the Mabinogion, certainly not in Dyfed. But according to some other traditions, Hefeydd was the first King of Dyfed. Gorsedd Arberth was his burial place and also the entrance to Annwn. Was this the enchanted castle in the third Branch? A hero called Hefeydd Hir is found in the 6th century epic poem Y Gododdin (composed by a Briton named Aneurin who lived in a land which is now part of Scotland). In the second Branch of the Mabinogion he appears as one of the Seven Knights, King Hefeydd of Dyfed who died in 892 etc... Hefeydd was a common name in Mediaeval Wales. The Kingdom of Gwawl fab Clud Map of Scotland showing the Wall It is said that the literal meaning of the name is “Wall Son Of Wealth”. “Gwawl”, according to the University of Wales Dictionary means: The Vallum (Roman wall) between the Firth of Forth and the Firth of Clyde - the Antonine Wall, not Hadrian’s Wall Man Light But his last name more than likely refers to the River Clyde in Scotland. Therefore he was one of the people of the Old North, that is to say they were Britons, like the Welsh. Alt Clud - now called Dumbarton Rock Their capital was Allt Clud – a huge rock on the further north bank of the River Clyde. [Now called Dumbarton (City of the Britons) Rock NS399745]. Pwyll meets a mysterious Lady In the first episode of the second half of Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed we find out that it has been three long and glorious years since Pwyll journeyed to Annwn and became firm friends with Annwn and his own kingdom is just beginning to shown signs of strain. It has been hot with fine weather for so long that the possibility of drought is becoming a real threat. Pwyll has not taken a Queen and produced an heir and the people fear that the land is suffering from his lack of fertility. Pwyll, however, has other things on his mind... This episode is also the 7th episode of the First Branch of the Mabinogi: Pwyll, Prince of Dyfed and the beginning of the second half of that Branch - the story of his encounter with Rhiannon. The Iron Age fort on Camp Hill to the south of the town of Narberth is the most commonly accepted location for the Gorsedd of Arberth. We have marked it in Green with our location on Bryn Caerau marked in Yellow to the North-East of Arberth. Pic: Google Earth We suspect that these twin peaks are the site of the actual Gorsedd as they are higher than Camp Hill, match with the descriptions of the topography given in the text and have an earlier Bronze Age archaeological presence known as Caerau Gaer and Llandewi Gaer. Arberth, the "Sea-Voice" & the Gorsedd The River we have called the Sea-Voice is the river Marlais that flows from the River Taf. The Welsh name comes from 'marw glais' which means 'dead bruise' and therefore stagnant water, so we can only assume that it has long since become polluted.
