바로 복날입니다. 오늘은 한국의 복날에 대해 이야기를 해보려고 해요.
먼저 복날이 무엇인지 알아볼까요? 복날은 여름 중에서도 가장 더운 시기를 말합니다.
초복, 중복, 말복 이렇게 세 번이 있어요. 매번 날짜는 조금씩 다르지만 보통 7월과 8월 사이에 있습니다.
2026년 올해에는 초복이 7월 15일, 중복이 7월 25일, 말복이 8월 14일입니다. 이 시기를 한국에서는 삼복 더위라고 해요. 정말 덥고 습해서 밖에서 잠깐만 걸어도 땀이 많이 나는 시기예요.
그런데 왜 이렇게 더운 날에 뜨거운 음식을 먹을까요?
한국에는 이열치열이라는 말이 있어요. 열은 열로 다스린다라는 뜻이에요.
더운 여름에 더운 음식을 먹고 몸의 기운을 보충하고 여름을 건강하게 보내자는 의미가 담겨 있습니다.
오랫동안 이어져 온 한국의 전통 문화예요. 복날 하면 가장 먼저 떠오르는 음식은 바로 삼계탕입니다.
삼계탕은 닭 안에 찹쌀, 마늘, 대추, 인삼 등을 넣고 오래 끓인 음식입니다.
국물도 진하고 몸이 따뜻해지는 느낌이 들어서 많은 사람들이 좋아해요.
복날이 되면 유명한 삼계탕집에는 긴 줄이 생기기도 합니다.
가족이나 친구와 함께 삼계탕을 먹으면서 건강하게 여름을 보내기를 바랍니다.
사실 요즘에는 복날을 꼭 챙기지 않는 사람도 많아요.
특히 젊은 사람들은 그냥 맛있는 음식 먹으면 되지 왜 더운 날 더운 음식을 먹어라고 생각하기도 해요.
그래서 냉면이나 햄버거를 먹는 사람도 있고 그냥 평소와 똑같이 식사하는 사람도 많습니다.
하지만 뉴스에서는 매년 봄날이 되면 삼계탕 이야기와 닭고기 가격 이야기가 나오고 식당들도 복날 특별 메뉴를 준비합니다.그래서 복날은 여전히 한국의 여름을 대표하는 문화 가운데 하나라고 할 수 있을 것 같아요.여러분의 나라에도 여름에 특별히 먹는 음식이 있나요?
