Listen and subscribe at www.JustProWrestlingNews.com I'm Matt Carlins and this is JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, September 27, 2021. This update is brought to you by IndyWrestling.us. (STINGER: WWE) A WWE Championship match is set to kick off tonight's Raw...with Big E defending against the former champ, Bobby Lashley. Lashley laid out the challenge during last night's Extreme Rules pay per view...not long after Big E and the rest of The New Day beat Lashley, AJ Styles & Omos to open the show. Big E pinned Lashley with the Big Ending after some miscommunication between Lashley and Styles. Sasha Banks returned to WWE TV last night. It happened during the SmackDown Women's Title match between Becky Lynch and Bianca Belair. Belair appeared to be moments away from hitting Lynch with the KOD and taking back the title, BUT that's when Banks made her return. She went right after Belair. Then, after a brief staredown, Banks took down Lynch as well. As Banks made her way back up the ramp, she could be heard saying, “I'll see both of you on Friday.” Roman Reigns is STILL the Universal Champion. He pinned THE DEMON Finn Balor in last night's main event...and there's a lot to unpack here. Balor was closing in when The Usos got involved and beat up on Balor. He appeared to be down and out, but then the lights turned red, Balor's music started to play and he powered up...to the point that he was poised to hit Reigns with the Coup De Grace. That's when the top rope inexplicably snapped. The lights went back to normal. The music stopped...and Reigns hit Balor with a Spear to get the win. Charlotte Flair pinned Alexa Bliss with Natural Selection to retain the Raw Women's Champion. After the match, Charlotte ripped Lilly to shreds...and Bliss basically had a nervous breakdown over this. Damian Priest is still the United States Champion. He won a 3-Way over Sheamus and Jeff Hardy. Priest rolled up Sheamus to get the pin. The Usos beat the Street Profits to retain the SmackDown Tag Titles. Montez Ford took the pin. Liv Morgan pinned Carmella on last night's Kickoff Show. MVP underwent surgery last week to repair a torn meniscus he suffered all the way back in February. He said he expects to be back on TV within the next 4-to-6 weeks. (STINGER: AEW) Tonight's AEW Dark: Elevation...has Paul Wight in a 3-on-1 match. Plus, Thunder Rosa is in singles action...and Dark Order's John Silver, Alex Reynolds, Alan “5” Angels & 10 will be in an 8-Man Tag. (STINGER: New Japan) TWO wrestlers remain unbeaten in the A Block of New Japan's G1 Climax tournament following Sunday's matches. Zack Sabre Jr. submitted Kota Ibushi. Sabre now holds tournament wins over Ibushi, Shingo Takagi and Tetsuya Naito. The other unbeaten is Great-O-Khan. He beat Yujiro Takahashi on Sunday. Also, KENTA pinned Tomohiro Ishii with a schoolboy after crashing Ishii into an exposed turnbuckle. And Toru Yano used a low blow and a rollup to pin Tanga Loa. Shingo Takagi had the non-tournament match. He pinned Yuji Nagata. The G1 resumes on Wednesday with matches in the B Block. On Saturday's New Japan Strong...Ren Narita beat Fred Rosser...and Jay White beat Wheeler Yuta. After the match, White got into a brawl with Tomohiro Ishii...which ended with White laying out Ishii with a Bladerunner. Back in Japan... Syuri is the winner of Stardom's 5 Star Grand Prix tournament. She beat Momo Watanabe in the tournament final on Saturday. In Pro-Wrestling NOAH, the final four is set in the N-1 Victory tournament. Next Sunday, it'll be Kaito Kiyomiya vs. Kenoh and Masakatsu Funaki vs. Katsuhiko Nakajima...with the winners meeting in the tournament final in the main event of that same show. (STINGER: Impact) Impact Wrestling announced that its Knockouts Knockdown special on October 9th will include an 8-Woman, One-Night tournament...with the winner getting a Knockouts Title match. That's JUST Pro Wrestling News for Monday, September 27th. Our next update comes your way tomorrow morning, so be sure to subscribe to this feed. “The scene has changed. The game has changed.” – Jim Ross (September 5, 2021. AEW All Out. Chicago, Illinois) Without overstating things, September 5, 2021, was a historic night for professional wrestling. AEW's biggest show of the year, All Out, was poised to deliver a highly anticipated card, headlined by CM Punk making his in-ring return to pro wrestling. It was so much more than that. AEW took the opportunity to showcase what it has spent the last few years building. It's not merely competition for WWE. For many, arguably, it's a replacement. The AEW roster has been built meticulously, and with one night in Chicago – they showed to the world that they added the star power needed to go up against the McMahon family once and for all. CM Punk. Ruby Soho. Adam Cole (Bay Bay!). Daniel Bryan. I mean, Bryan Danielson (gotta get used to that). The hits just kept coming. From a solid pre-show to a wide variety of matches that each delivered in their own unique ways.. it was all killer, no filler. Well, okay. Except maybe for that Paul Wight match / piss break, which was out of character for AEW. But seriously, besides that, they spent the entire night showcasing their talent, telling interesting stories, and captivating an audience who was there with a craving for PROFESSIONAL WRESTLING. Those two words matter. Sports entertainment has become the default, but it doesn't have to be that way. Arguably, it's all pro wrestling. It's all sports entertainment. But when you present a product the way AEW did on Sunday.. *chef's kiss* Fans old and new, lapsed and jaded – they found something to get behind. I realize I'm coming off as a total fanboy in everything you just read. But I think they earned it. What's next for AEW? Besides Minoru Suzuki vs Jon Moxley, that is? One thing is for sure: Someone is gonna get their fuckin head kicked in! Featuring: ‘The Mayor of Reseda' Derek (@cap_kaveman), ‘Super Jew' Jared (@SuperJew75), FKA ‘The Beast from the Middle East' Darrell Johnson (@zazzumplop), ‘Pipe Bomb' Bryan Gregston (@guitarsalad), and ‘A Bomb' Adam Hess (@ahess49) Music by The Black Furies, courtesy of Music Alley Be sure to visit TheSteelCageShop.com, become a Patreon supporter at patreon.com/thesteelcage, and support Uncle Beek over at Pentagonzo.com! (STINGER: AEW) CM Punk will wrestle for the first time in more than SEVEN years. It goes down TONIGHT at AEW's All Out pay per view. Punk will go one-on-one against Darby Allin. Kenny Omega defends the AEW Championship against Christian Cage, the only man to defeat Omega in a one-on-one match over the last two years. The Young Bucks put their AEW Tag Titles on the line against the Lucha Brothers inside a Steel Cage. Tonight could see the END of Chris Jericho's in-ring career in AEW. Those are the stakes if Jericho loses to MJF. Dr. Britt Baker defends the AEW Women's Championship against Kris Statlander. Miro defends the TNT Championship against Eddie Kingston. Plus, Jon Moxley vs. New Japan's Satoshi Kojima...Paul Wight vs. QT Marshall...and the Women's Casino Battle Royale. 20 names are announced for that match. But the lineup did change over the weekend. During a special episode of Dark on Saturday, Julia Hart was attacked backstage by Jade Cargill and Nyla Rose. Hart was ruled unable to compete and pulled from the Battle Royale. Her replacement will be Skye Blue. Tony Khan made that announcement after Blue lost to Red Velvet on Dark. Anyway, that leaves ONE entrant still a mystery heading into Sunday. The Buy In pre-show has Jurassic Express & the Best Friends trio of Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta vs. the Hardy Family Office's Matt Hardy alongside Private Party & TH2.. (STINGER: New Japan) New Japan is at the MetLife Dome in Saitama on Sunday for its second Wrestle Grand Slam show of the weekend. On Saturday's show… Hiroshi Tanahashi pinned Kota Ibushi to retain the IWGP United States Championship. Bullet Club has a new member. SHO joined the group after he used a steel chair to defeat YOH. SHO is now part of Bullet Club sub-faction with EVIL, Dick Togo and Yujiro Takehashi called the House Of Torture. Jeff Cobb pinned Kazuchika Okada with the Tour Of The Islands. Toru Yano reclaimed the 2021 KOPW trophy by forcing Chase Owens to say “I Quit”. Jr Champ Robbie Eagles & Tiger Mask beat Hiromu Takahashi & BUSHI. Eagles submitted BUSHI. Saya Kamitani & Momo Watanabe beat Maika & Lady C. Kamitani pinned Lady C with a Phoenix Splash. New Japan announced that January's Wrestle Kingdom will be a THREE night event. Two nights in Tokyo Dome on January 4th & 5th. The third night will be at Yokohama Arena on January 8th. (STINGER: WWE) The new-look NXT will make its debut in September 14th. They chat about the success of SummerSlam 2021, why he enjoys the WWE grind, thoughts on Roman Reigns' rise, Brock Lesnar's return, RK-Bro, the best advice he's received since coming to the main roster, legitimately forgetting his lines during a promo on Raw earlier this year, and more! From there, RJ Marceau and GSM give their quick thoughts on Monday's Raw (featuring a hell of a United States Championship Triple Threat match, build for Extreme Rules, and a bunch of filler) before getting into their picks and predictions for the All Out pay-per-view! They talk who's winning the Casino Battle Royale and if there will be any surprise entrants, Jon Moxley's random match against Satoshi Kojima, Paul Wight making his in-ring debut for AEW against QT Marshall, Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo, and Eddie Kingston challenging Miro for the AEW TNT Championship. And that's not all! The duo discuss Britt Baker defending the AEW Women's World Championship against Kris Statlander, if Chris Jericho's match against MJF will be his last (and why it should be), if The Lucha Brothers will become the AEW World Tag Team Champions, CM Punk returning to the ring for the first time in seven years against Darby Allin, and the likely main event between Kenny Omega and Christian Cage for the AEW World Championship.

(STINGER: AEW) The card for All Out got some final fine tuning on last night's AEW Dynamite. Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo is now OFF the pay per view due to travel issues. As a result, the Women's Casino Battle Royale is now on the main show...and a new match was announced for the Buy In pre-show: Jurassic Express & Best Friends vs. the Hardy Family Office. Orange Cassidy beat Jack Evans on last night's Dynamite. Some new entrants for the Women's Casino Battle Royale were announced last night: Jamie Hayter, Rebel, LEGIT Leyla Hirsch, Abadon, KiLynn King...and Anna Jay, who returned to AEW TV to rescue Tay Conti from a post-match attack by The Bunny & Penelope Ford. Conti had beaten Ford. Also last night, a shocking betrayal by Billy Gunn. He struck down Paul Wight with a steel chair shot to his surgically replaced hip. That allowed QT Marshall to lay out Wight with a Diamond Cutter. The Young Bucks & Good Brothers beat the Lucha Brothers & Jurassic Express in last night's main event. The Bucks pinned Rey Fenix with the Meltzer Driver. After the match, Kenny Omega joined The Elite for a huge post-match beatdown on the Lucha Brothers and Christian Cage. That included The Elite hijacking the steel cage hanging above the ring to prevent anyone from coming to the rescue. Santana & Ortiz beat FTR. AND Powerhouse Hobbs pinned Brian Cage after Ricky Starks hit Cage with the FTW Championship. An in-ring promo by CM Punk was interrupted by Daniel Garcia and 2.0. Darby Allin and Sting quickly appeared...and they helped Punk clear the ring. AEW Women's Champion Dr. Britt Baker announced she's signed a new long-term contract with AEW. Anyone attending the Dynamite: Grand Slam show at Arthur Ashe Stadium in Queens, New York later this month...will need proof they've received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine. That's in line with protocols put in place in New York City last month. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling has Ace Austin vs. Tommy Dreamer. If Dreamer wins, he gets inserted into Austin's title match against Impact World Champion Christian Cage at Victory Road. X-Division Champ Josh Alexander has issued an open challenge for tonight, offering a title match to any former X-Division Champion. Also tonight, Matt Cardona & Chelsea Green vs. Rohit Raju & Shera...AND Taylor Wilde, Jordynne Grace and Rachael Ellering vs. The Influence. (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK has Teoman vs. Nathan Frazer in a Heritage Cup #1 Contender Tournament match. Plus, Blair Davenport vs. Nina Samuels. (DVon Dudley Flair Jax Match) That clip from this week's episode of the Table Talk podcast. The postponed SmackDown show at New Orleans' Smoothie King Center is now rescheduled for February 11th. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor says Rush will be out of action for the rest of year. He underwent knee surgery earlier this week. Rush was set to challenge Shane Taylor Promotions for the ROH 6-Man Titles at the Death Before Dishonor pay per view. Bestia Del Ring will take Rush's place on the challenging team, alongside Dragon Lee and Kenny King Will Ospreay is off of Revolution Pro's shows this weekend...after he tested positive for COVID-19. Ospreay said he was fully vaccinated...his symptoms are mild...and he'll be fine. Stardom announced its matches on New Japan's Wrestle Grand Slam cards this weekend. Also now set for All Out, Dr. Britt Baker will defend the AEW Women's Championship against Kris Statlander...and Jon Moxley will face New Japan's Satoshi Kojima. Wheeler said the nerves in his arm aren't firing the way they should. Still, he's being allowed to return for at least one more match...NEXT WEEK. It'll be FTR vs. Santana & Ortiz. QT Marshall hit a major pothole on the way to his match at All Out against Paul Wight. Marshall took too long jawing at Wight, who was sitting in on commentary...and Colten Gunn caught Marshall in a rollup and PINNED him...as the Gunn Club beat The Factory last night. Malakai Black clobbered Brock Anderson in last night's main event. Then, Black knocked out Arn Anderson too. Lee Johnson ran out to chase away Black. He's in the main event against DOUKI. Also on Friday's show, IWGP Junior Champ Robbie Eagles in a non-title match against Master Wato. We have the first matches announced for New Japan's show in the Dallas-Fort Worth Metroplex on September 25th...Will Ospreay vs. Karl Fredericks...and Minoru Suzuki vs. Fred Rosser. A special welcome to those of you listening on TheWrestlingRevolution.com. If you want to bring our updates to your website...email us: desk@justprowrestlingnews.com. (STINGER: AEW) The AEW Championship match is set for All Out. It'll be Kenny Omega defending against...Christian Cage. The match was announced during last night's Dynamite, but that's not all. Kenny and Christian will also meet on the debut episode of Rampage on Friday night...with Omega's Impact World Championship on the line. Impact executive Scott D'Amore appeared on last night's Dynamite...and sat in on commentary during the Good Brothers' successful Impact Tag Title defense over Evil Uno & Stu Grayson. Another match announced for All Out during last night's Dynamite: Pac vs. Andrade El Idolo. Chris Jericho will get his match against MJF. Jericho got past Wardlow in the main event of last night's Dynamite. The referee caught MJF trying to slip his Dynamite Diamond Ring to Wardlow. And while throwing out MJF, Jericho hit Wardlow with his bat behind the ref's back...delivered the Judas Effect and got the pin. The showdown between Jericho and MJF will happen on NEXT Wednesday's Dynamite. MJF declared that the Judas Effect will be banned...and also, “Judas” will not be played during Jericho's entrance. Also on last night's Dynamite...Darby Allin pinned Daniel Garcia with the Coffin Drop. Garcia dominated much of the match. Matt Hardy & Private Party beat Orange Cassidy, Chuck Taylor & Wheeler Yuta. Hardy pinned Yuta after a Twist Of Fate. Nyla Rose ran out to take down Kris Statlander during the match, but Statlander later got her revenge. She pinned Rose with a 450 Splash. An in-ring interview by Tony Schiavone with QT Marshall led to Marshall and The Factory attacking Schivaone's son...and that led to Paul Wight storming out to hit a chokeslam on Aaron Solo. A promoted appearance by Dan Lambert did NOT happen on last night's Dynamite. Tony Khan told Busted Open Radio it was pushed back a week...and will now happen on next Wednesday's Dynamite. Khan also mentioned that Lambert is bringing along “two great UFC champions.” Former Impact Knockouts Tag Champ Kiera Hogan wrestled a match for AEW Dark: Elevation before last night's Dynamite went on air. Also, Anthony Bowens wrestled a singles match for Elevation. Max Caster was NOT in his corner and did NOT appear at all during the show. The new AEW Tag Team Rankings unveiled Wednesday did NOT include The Acclaimed among the top 5 title contenders. All this follows backlash over Caster's pre-match rap on last week's episode of AEW Dark. CM Punk was asked point-blank if he will be at the United Center when AEW Rampage emanates from that arena on August 20th. (Punk Rampage Date Plans) That's Punk speaking with Jason Agnew on the Saturday Night's Main Event radio show in Canada. (STINGER: Impact) Tonight's Impact Wrestling has a Battle Royale, where the winner gets a shot at the Impact World Championship on next Friday's Emergence show. Also tonight, Jay White & Chris Bey vs. FinJuice...X-Division Champ Josh Alexander vs. Daivari in a non-title match...and Tenille Dashwood vs. Taylor Wilde. (STINGER: ROH) Ring Of Honor has found a new home for its Death Before Dishonor pay per view. It'll be held at Philadelphia's 2300 Arena on Sunday, September 12th. ROH pulled the show out of its original site in Lakeland, Florida due to concerns about a surge in COVID-19 cases in that state. Also on Wednesday, ROH announced Josh Woods will challenge for the Pure Title at Death Before Dishonor. (STINGER: WWE) Today's NXT UK will see the start of the Heritage Cup #1 Contender's Tournament. Mark Andrews faces Noam Dar in a first round match. Also on today's show...Flash Morgan Webster vs. Wolfgang...and Amale vs. Nina Samuels. The episode of NWA Powerrr originally scheduled for Tuesday finally premiered last night. It saw the deciding match of the Champions Series...with Colby Corino beating Sal Rinauro...to win the tournament for Team Pope. This means all members of the team - Trevor Murdoch, Jennacide, Jax Dane, The Masked Man, and Corino will get NWA title matches at a time of their choosing.
