In this latest episode of Chasing Pa In rs Golf Podcast which is Proudly sponsored by Golf Tips Checker I was joined by 2x Sunshine Tour champion & 4x DP World Tour runner up as I give you the remarkable story of Justin Walters. In a really deep, honest, meaningful at times tough not to feel emotional chat Justin goes at length about how career struggles affected him, the heavy loss of both parents with remarkable bravery to recover from such adversity to being a main stay on the DP World Tour for over a decade! Justin was born in South Africa but is Half South African & Half English by his own admission due to having an English mother. Justin would take a college placement in the States in 2001 while managing to get into the University of North Carolina State & was number 1 at a period of time at NC State playing every week against serious players including PGA Tour players Hunter Mahan, Bill Haas, Brandt Snedeker, D.J. Trahan & Ryan Moore. In 2002 due to having dual citizenship Justin would get the call up to team GB & Ireland for Palmer Cup where alongside Oliver Wilson & Stuart Manley would battle a very talented US side consisting of the best college talent (Haas, Mahan, Trahan, Nick Watney). Justin would turn pro in 2003 & although would struggle in his first few years he would win 2004 Parmalat Classic on Sunshine Tour & 2005 Statesville Open on Tarheel Tour (US). In 2011 he would pick up his 2nd Sunshine Tour title at Investec Royal Swazi Open in the Stableford format legit coming off a 3 weeks injury layoff after slicing the top of a finger. 2013 was the year that propelled Justin properly on Tour ending up a career high 64th on Race to Dubai standings, 2013 European Tour Graduate of the Year & a 2nd at Portugal Masters pipped by David Lynn & contended in the big Turkish Airlines Open event which included Justin Rose & Tiger nonetheless. We get a story of how Justin was just a baby away from the greatest and being mesmerized by his swing! 2019 was also a strong year with a 2nd back home at Dimension Data Pro- Am & T2nd again in Portugal. In 2020 after the COVID restart Justin would lead ISPS Handa UK Championship at The Belfry Brabazon Course from start to finish until making a few mistakes going for home when Rasmus Hojgaard with an amazing finish got into a playoff where Hojgaard would win & still to this day Justin's biggest regret. He loves the Belfry after also a T3rd in 2022 at Betfred British Masters. From promising college career to career struggles to near misses on the main tour to personal tragedies this is a must listen to episode. I fully appreciate Justin's full honesty! Wish him all the best for 2024.

At one point, Hunter Mahan was the only player to make every Tour Championship during the FedEx Cup era. As soon as he turned pro from the mid-2000s to the mid-2010s, he was a consistent force on tour racking up half a dozen wins and rising to as high as 4th in the world rankings. The only thing missing was a major win, and it seemed it was only a matter of time before he got one. However, in the past 5 seasons, his game and consistency has dropped off significantly. (14:33)Wood also recaps the action from The Players with us, after Justin Thomas’ big-time victory, which was a huge win for the gambling community, including our Christopher Powers, who followed JT on Sunday. We wrap up an exciting week at TPC Sawgrass before we get into our Honda Classic picks (29:54).Be sure to check GolfDigest.com for our weekly experts picks column—where we have Pat Mayo, Rick Gehman, Brandon Gdula and an anonymous tour caddie providing picks (for free!) every week. And we’re on a roll, picking four of the past six winners.

He chats about being on the bag for the 2010 Ryder Cup with Hunter Mahan, how the Kuchar/El Tucan situation played out, moving on from Kuchar's bag, and so much more. Andy and Brendan begin this Wednesday episode with a few leftover Mac O’Grady stories that rolled in over the last few days. Then they relay an item, formerly used by Hunter Mahan, that they would absolutely push in their holiday gift guide, if they had one. The schedule for the week begins with Mayakoba and its unique (for the PGA Tour schedule) ability to reward accuracy relative to distance. It’s a big week for cave bunkers and mangroves but could it also be a big week for the Bracelet Boys? And where’s Matt Kuchar? The LPGA Volunteers of America Classic gets event of the week honors while the Euro Tour somehow has dueling events in Dubai and South Africa. This prompts some research into the “Fire Course,” the venue in Dubai. A news segment hones in on the continued announcements of fans-less events but the Phoenix Open announcing their intention to have some sort of scaled down operation at the 16th hole. They close it out with a few thoughts on Rory’s interview with Golfweek and the potential catnip feeding frenzy coming at the PNC Challenge next week.
The Hunter Mahan revenge tour begins! The guys dig into the electric finish at The Shriners and Bryson's rollercoaster week. Pasqo sounds off about Tommy Fleetwood's struggles, and the Cam Davis hate train continues. Matt Fitzpatrick got the center of attention in the distance debate by discrediting Bryson's approach, and the guys let him hear it. Listen to the chaos unravel!

“After 23 years on the bag, I still love caddying. Physically, I think I’m in good enough shape to do it for another 10 years, or maybe longer.” (https://golfyeah.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/John-Wood-at-Ryder-Cup.jpg) John Wood Veteran PGA Tour Caddie Sacramento, California John Wood has what many golf enthusiasts consider to be a dream job. As a professional caddie on the PGA Tour for the past 23 years, John Wood has carried for Hunter Mahan, Kevin Sutherland and Mark Calcavecchia. He is now in his 4th year on the bag for Matt Kuchar. In addition to scores of regular tour events and major tournaments behind the ropes, John has been part of 7 Ryder Cup teams, 6 Presidents Cup teams and the 2016 Olympics. (https://golfyeah.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/12/Wood-with-Guitar.png) It’s safe to say that few people know more about the game, the players, the personalities, the courses, and what I takes to win on the Tour. John is recognized as one of the most respected and knowledgeable caddies on the PGA Tour. He’s going to share his story of how he got started, what life is really like for him as a caddie, as well as some guidance for people who aspire to follow a similar career path. John is somewhat of a Renaissance Man. He reads a lot, and in fact, once managed a Towers book store in Sacramento before he became a caddie. He also enjoys the outdoors and camping. But his real passion is music, and in fact, he recently wrote, produced and published his first album of original songs, which is entitled “Record66,” and available on Soundcloud. And he talks about all of that. Show Highlights: John’s unusual path to becoming a PGA Tour caddie What it takes to be considered a great professional caddie How most business relationships between caddies and Tour players are structured The “Do’s and Don’ts” of giving advice to your player during a round What happens when a caddie / player relationship ends How caddies help each other during a tournament Why John will never participate in the “caddie race” on the 16th hole of the Waste Management event How the rules have changed, making it more difficult to earn a caddie’s job on the PGA Tour Why he cried at the 2016 Summer Olympics What it’s like to carry for a popular player like Matt Kuchar Why the US team lost so badly at the 2018 Ryder Cup John’s songwriting career, and his future aspirations The individual who continues to serve as an inspiration to John (See “Tribute” link below) Notable Quotes: On his longevity as a Tour caddie: “It was something I thought I would try for a year or two and then get back to the real world. I had no idea it would turn into a career.” On what it takes to make a great caddie: “A Tour caddie needs to have the answers to at least 5 questions that may never get asked by his player.” On life of the PGA Tour: “If you have a good player who treats you well, there is really nothing to complain about.” On his songwriting technique: “I start by writing the lyrics before I write the music, which is unlike the way most people do it.” On becoming a Tour caddie today: “Be prepared to pay some dues. It’s much more difficult today. Most players bring out their own caddies these days.” On working with Matt Kuchar: “He’s kind of like Fred Couples back in the day, because he’s so relaxed and easy to get along with.” On managing a player in high pressure situations: “The waits on the tees and walks between shots can be more important than the actual shots, because you need to relax your player, and keep his mind off of golf.” Resources: Golf Yeah Website (http://www.golfyeah.com) John Wood’s Original Music on Soundcloud: Record66...

Holly G is in the studio in the studio starting her 8th season on The Golf Insiders as the PGA Tour begins the 2015-2106 wrap-around season. Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in at the top of the show to discuss team USA beating the International team by one point. Holly asks Bob if the President's Cup came up in the ranking compared to the Ryder Cup? Bob said it's hard to compare the two with the history of the Ryder Cup. Bob said that when one team dominates, the interest falls off. He said the Ryder Cup used to be the same way in the '70s. It came down to Bill Haas versus Sang Moon Bae. The story line was great with Bill's dad Jay serving as the USA's captain. Sang Moon was playing in his last event before leaving for mandatory military service. Bob pointed out that Sang Moon Bae's duffed chip shot on the 18th was eerily similar to what happened to Hunter Mahan in the Ryder Cup. Heartbreaking. Holly and Bob talk about the start of the new season with the Frys.com tournament. Bob thinks there is not a break for fans to miss golf. Bob said maybe play a tournament in Australia or Asia so its unique and maybe can be shown at night on television. Mike Purkey, Global Golf Post, calls in to talk to Holly about the Presidents Cup and the challenges of the International team. Nick Price had a difficult challenge having players from 8 different countries and have them play well given just the language barriers teammates. Holly and Mike discuss the Champions Tour and how Colin Montgomerie has taken the senior tour by storm and has such a great following. G.W. Cable, PGA Tour caddy for Chris Kirk, was at the President's Cup and talks to Holly about the USA's win at the President's Cup and how it was as a caddy. The emotion is like no other. Even as a caddy being in that moment is just so different than anything else. Holly and GW talk about the differences as a fan between the President's Cup and the Ryder Cup. Holly G asks GW what was it like going to South Korea with the time difference and how it affects the players and caddies. Mental Conditioning Coach Dr Bob Winters, David Leadbetter Academy, calls in to the show to wrap up the show talking to Holly about the final hole and the final two players. Dr Bob had said for a few weeks that he thought it was going to come down to the wire and the International team was a lot deeper than some fans thought. Sometimes the home field advantage actually acts as a detriment to some players. The players want to win so badly for their home country and their team and the momentum can change in a heartbeat. Holly talks to Dr Bob about the two year break for Sang Moon and how the tournament ended for him. Dr Bob said that Sang Moon had a great tournament and he needs to look back and relish the good moments and not focus on a bad one. Mistake Free Golf is Dr Bob's latest book. Dr Bob says that he feels the typical player gets ahead of himself or herself too much when playing a round of golf. When they are on the 5th hole they assess their game and project what score they will finish 18th hole with. He said that we need to quit being a human calculator and just play each shot as it comes.

Holly G is in the studio with special guest Jay Golden, PGA instructor at Winter Pines Golf Course, who has been out on the Web.com Tour caddying and instructing Rob Oppenheim try to qualify for the PGA Tour. Oppenheimer finished 26th in the Web.com standings, just missing the automatic qualifying for his card given to the Top 25 on the Web.com Tour. Now Oppenheim heads into the qualifying tournament. Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in from BMW Championship at Conway Farms on the eve of the third leg of the FedEx Cup playoffs. After a week off, the 70 players return as they head into the final stretch. Bob said he feels that the players are more rested than they were a year ago. There is no way you can do this mentally and physically without a break. This is a lot of high-end golf. Next year the week off comes right before the final FedEx Cup Championship and the Olympics are mixed in with the Tour schedule. Jay asks Bob if he thinks the players have the feel that this is a gigantic event. Bob says "Honestly, No" and that's the hurdle the PGA is trying to overcome. Bob said that after someone like Jordan Spieth finished 1st, 1st, 2nd and 4th in this year's major championships, how much does he have left in the tank to turn back around and head into the "Playoffs"? Bob said that the "money part" of these tournaments is not the issue, Bob thinks it lacks what the majors have. They'd be better off with 3 events in a row and have them come a few weeks after the end of the season. Holly brought up the fact that Sergio Garcia took two weeks off and went on vacation and didn't play the first two events and still may win the final two playoff events. Jay mentioned that there are a lot of theories why the FedEx Cup started and then asked Bob why he thinks the PGA started the FedEx Cup playoffs? Bob said that the Tour doesn't have a stake in the Major Championships and the Tour wanted to create something outside of the Majors. Before the FedEx Cup, golf died off at the end of the calendar year and no one paid attention to the tournaments in the fall. Bob feels that playoffs have done a great job at revitalizing the season. They came up with the point system. "One of the reasons the NFL is so popular is that there is an 8-month break for fans and once the Super Bowl is over we can't wait for the next season to begin," Harig pointed out. "Having these tournaments is way better off than what we had before ..."I think it's great!, Harig stressed. Holly asks Bob about Jordan Spieth and have we forgotten him already? Bob said that Spieth said he hasn't had a let down after all of his success this year. Bob picked Hunter Mahan to win the BMW even though he's way down on the list. Who is going to win the hole thing depends on the Top 5 after the this week. Bob likes Rory. The fifth major on the LPGA Tour, the Evian Championship, was won by Lydia Ko who became the youngest player to ever win a Major. Holly talks about the final event and that the LPGA players are headed to Germany for the Solheim Cup. Jay and Holly talk about the Web.com Tour playoff systems. Jay says that he "discovered" Caddying is 90 percent of what you don't say and 10 percent of what you do say. Jay said that he feels that as a caddy ... "You have to be Sigmund Freud and Butch Harmon at the same time." Jay has also been working with Kaká from Orlando City Soccer on his golf game. Jay talks about how great an athlete and nice person Kaká is. Jeff Babineau, Golfweek, calls in from Conway Farms and talks about the FedEx Cup Playoffs with Holly and Jay about the golf course. Jay asks Jeff if he thinks the FedEx Cup Playoffs are all that they are made out to be. Jeff said that he feels that it is better than what the Tour had and gives more of an exciting feeling to the Tour than in the past. Holly asks if Billy Horschel's big three weeks last year changed his approach to golf moving forward? Jeff said he thinks it definitely puts a lot of pressure on Billy. Jay talks with Jeff about how Spieth had such an incredible year and had an incredible run this year that maybe it took a lot out of him heading into the FedEx Cup playoffs. Jeff thinks that it might have caught up with Spieth. Jeff thinks Zach Johnson will win this week. But no matter what happens there is a good field going into the Tour Championship regardless. Holly picks Jim Furyk. Holly updates listeners on the Solheim Cup, which was something her team at the LPGA came up with in the 1990s. Holly was the Director of Communications at the time the Solheim Cup was "birthed." Jeff Shain, Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette in Hilton Head, S.C. and a contributor to PGATour.com, calls in to wrap up the show. Holly asks Jeff about the LPGA's last two weeks. Lydia Ko won the Evian. We in the media may have under played Lydia. Jeff recaps her blossoming career at such a young age. Ko won the Race to the CME Globe in 2014. Jeff said that Lydia reminds her of Lorena Ochoa. Holly then turns her attention to the Solheim Cup. Jeff said that this is a critical Solheim Cup for the USA being that the USA has lost two in a row and three consecutive losses would be devastating. If you look at world rankings, the US is a stronger team on paper but he Europeans seem to have that team edge. Jeff points out that these are almost the same two teams from a year ago that saw the Europeans stomped the USA team.

Host Holly G is at Myrtle Beach, South Carolina for the Myrtle Beach World Amateur Handicap Championships. It's also the eve of the second event of the 2015 FedEx Cup playoffs, The Deutsche Bank Championship. Last week it was all Jason Day as he won The Barclays, his fourth event of the season, running away from the competition once again. On Sunday Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in a talks to Holly to talk about Jason Day's confident play of late. Bob feels that once again that once you break through things get easier. Day shot a 63-62 to run away with the event. Bob talks to Holly G about when is the last time that two players have been in the hunt for the Player of the Year. Jordan Spieth winning two majors and two other events and how well he has played. On the other hand, now you have Day who has won a major and three other events with one of those being a FedEx Cup event. There's a possibility that Day could sweep the FedEx Cup and how would that stand up against what Spieth has done in the eyes of their peers who vote for POY? Bob said that Spieth finished first, first, fourth and second in the majors this year so that may be the stat that seals it for Spieth. And he was one stroke away from being in the playoff at the Open Championship which could've been three in a row for Jordan. It's been one of the greatest years is major championship history. Holly and Bob discuss Rory McIlroy's chances battling through injuries and how he might play the rest of the FedEx Cup playoffs this year? Bob said that Rory is more fresh now. He can play one week, get a week off and then play two in a row. Bob feels that it is a good decision by Rory to play how he has this past month. Then a hard European Tour finish after that. Bob and Holly talk about who has to make the biggest move this week to help their cause going forward. Hunter Mahan has been in eight straight Tour Championships since the FedEx Cup playoffs have started. If you get to Atlanta, you are putting at least 150,000 in your retirement account. He's 91st in points and has a lot of work to do this week to get to the BMW. The Top 5 get to control their destiny in the FedEx Cup. May be one of the debatable things about the FedEx Cup format. Day can win the next two and may not win it all. Someone who is 2, 3, 4 or 5 can win the title if they win the last event. Bob feels, that it's hard to play these big tournaments in consecutive weeks so it's great that they have a week off after this Mitch Laurance, host of Golf Connections on PlayGolfGetaways.com , talks to Holly about the World Ams and 57 courses being played. There are about 3,500 golfers and about 70 or so flights. Players play four different golf courses during the event and experience all of the facets. There are also amazing deals at the 19th Hole, the food, the free cocktails, etc. There are also so many side competitions going on and events for participants to compete in. John Daly was at the World Am right after being in the hospital for a collapsed lung. Mitch said he got to spend some time with Daly and ask him how he was doing and ... John said "Okay, but added he was still scared." Mitch said it really is a mind boggling place with all the great golf courses in the area and the World Amateur event each year. For more information on the World Amateur or to compete next year, visit www.myrtlebeachworldamateur.com/ Jeff Shain, Island Packet and Beaufort Gazette in Hilton Head, S.C. and a contributor to PGATour.com, calls in from nearby Hilton Head to talk to Holly G about Jason Day's recent accomplishments on Tour. Very impressive but befuddled some of the top players in the world. Jeff feels that once a player crosses over and wins one of the biggest events it really goes a long way in boosting their confidence where they can start winning more. Holly asks Jeff about Brian Harman's two aces in one tournament. He was buying drinks and they were all doubles. Maxed out his credit card. Brian has a good year but hasn't been a contender this year like last year when he won. Jeff discusses the second event of the FedEx Cup and the top players. Interesting to have the three guys together in Spieth, Day, and McIlroy. Jeff mentions the fact that Sergio Garcia is not playing the Deutsche Bank and was not at The Barclays. It's a big gamble just playing the last two events, but is an interesting strategy. Jeff says that in the past it seems that there are players who are just on the periphery in the standings that get hot and win it all like Horschel did last year. Jeff said it could be Robert Streb. Wrapping up the hour of intelligent golf talk radio Holly talks to one of the featured golf courses on The Golf Insiders Golf Card, Justin Awtrey the General Manager of the DeBary Golf and Country Club. Justin talks about the renovations that were recently done to the course and the grand reopening. The country club put in some new Tiff Eagle greens and tilled them all. Holly G and Rich B are in the studio on the eve of the final event of the season, the Tour Championship at East Lake. Rich and Holly talk about Billy Horschel's big win at the BMW Championship that now sets him up for the FedEx Cup Top 5 and the hunt for the FedEx Cup title. Horschel was in contention the week prior and hit a bad shot toward the end of the tournament that cost him a chance for a playoff and the tournament title. He ended up finishing tied for second. Todd Lewis, the Golf Channel, calls in from East Lake and talks about Arnold Palmer, who turned 85 today, and how Mr. Palmer always has been “every man's” champion. Todd said that Arnold has made fan interaction on the golf course what it is today and that has made golf a great sport to follow. Arnold was also one of the integral players in getting the Golf Channel up and running. Holly and Todd talk about how the Top 5 in the FedEx Cup standings control of their own destinies. If any of those 5 players win the Tour Championship they will win the FedEx Cup title. Todd shares with the listeners that the word at East Lake is “fatigue.” The players require sharp mental focus to constantly contend in the final events. Todd says that even though weather could play a factor in the tournament, that East Lake has a system underneath the greens that sucks the moisture out of the greens. So you could have soft fairways and hard greens. Holly asks Todd about Hunter Mahan making every FedEx Cup playoff event since it started, all 32. He mentions that is the first time since 1992 that neither Tiger Woods nor Phil Mickelson qualified for the Tour Championship. Bob Harig, ESPN.com, calls in from East Lake to talk to the Golf Insiders about the FedEx Cup and how it is such a convoluted system. Bob wants to have a system in place that everyone can easily follow it. The players need to know going in as well as the fans who is going to win without a slide ruler. Bob thinks that the current way is too complicated. He feels that there is a way better way to do it. Bob said that Jim Furyk could actually win the FedEx Cup without winning a PGA Tour event all year. A lot of things would need to happen for him to do that, but it actually could happen. You could win every tournament in the year and if you don't win the FedEx Cup, you wouldn't win the FedEx Cup title. Bob feels that all 30 players coming into the Tour Championship should have a shot at winning the FedEx Cup title if they win the Tour Championship. The winner of the final event should win it all. Steve Eubanks, Global Golf Post, calls in from East Lake to give his thoughts about the golf course and who it favors. Sets up well for McIlroy and Horschel. Is Billy going to be able to hold up under the pressure? Holly feels that the mental pressure of these final tournaments play a big part of these top pros mishitting shots like Horschel did. Steve brings up the press conference from earlier where Rory talked about Mickelson and Woods getting older and that injuries and fatigue have worn down both players this year. Steve wonders what the one thing that is keeping Rickie Fowler from breaking through and winning on the Tour. Rickie has finished in the Top 5 at all 4 majors this year. Todd Lewis, Bob Harig and Steve Eubanks pick Rory McIlroy to win the whole thing. Rich B picks Rory with Jim Furyk as a backup and Holly picks someone from the field and not the Top 5.
The newest champion on the European Tour David Lipsky speaks exclusively to Dan Roebuck and Robert Lee, after his play-off victory over Graeme Storm in the Omega European Masters. We also hear from Storm along with Tyrrell Hatton, Brooks Koepke and Jamie Donaldson who were all high on the final leaderboard at Crans-sur-Sierre in Switzerland. Bob feels that there really wasn't any American that stood out and said pick me. Rich and Bob talk about European Ryder Cup Captain Paul McGinley's picks Ian Poulter, Lee Westwood and Stephen Gallacher. Bob feels that the only one that may have been slighted was Luke Donald. Jeff Shain, PGATour.com, is also in the studio and asks Bob Harig about the difference between the Ryder Cup overseas and when the U.S. hosts it as well as the weather and being cheered or booed. Holly talks with Bob about the BMW Championship. The key is to be in the top 5 after the BMW Championship so you are set up to win the FedExCup without winning the Tour Championship at the end. Vartan Kupelian, Champions Tour writer for PGATour.com, calls in to talk about the Ryder Cup. Holly asks about Bernhard Langer not being picked and if that was an oversight? Vartan says that with all due respect, the best players on the Champions Tour cannot "hang" with the players on the PGA Tour. Rich, Holly and Jeff talk with Vartan about past Ryder Cups, team captains, players and the chances of each team. Jeff Shain, talks to Holly and Rich about the Ryder Cup. Jeff feels that Europe is such a big favorite because they have four of the top 5 players in the World Golf Rankings. But when you go from 5-12 the Americans have good players. Jeff feels that it will depend on how they are paired and how the rank and file play and not so much the marquee match ups. Rich picks Rickie Fowler to win the BMW, Jeff picks Rory and Jason Day.

Bulging disc in his neck. Dufner does not want to play until he is competitive. Tiger and Sean Foley part ways after four years. Tiger was #1 again during that time but he didn't win a major championship during Foley's tenure. Bob mentions that we don't really know what goes on behind the scenes if Tiger was listening to Sean, was it helping. Bob talks about the fact that Tiger wasn't a healthy player for the past year. Holly talks to Bob about Johnny Miller's comments on Tiger. Johnny says Tiger is not Ponce de Leon and shouldn't continue searching for the fountain of youth. Bob says that Tiger shouldn't be explosive but needs to focus on strength and flexibility. Todd Lewis, The Golf Channel, calls in from the Deutsche Bank to talk about the second leg of the FedExCup playoffs. Todd said this is a big week and the field will be trimmed to 70. Todd also says it is the last week for players from both countries to impress the Ryder Cup coaches. Todd an Holly talk about the schedule at the end of the year. Todd feels that It's the mental fatigue and trying to stay sharp and stay at the highest level that the players are dealing with right now. Holly and Todd talk about the play of Hunter Mahan and looking back at 2012 winning early in the season that year but fading at the end and not making the Ryder Cup in Medinah. Todd says that Mahan was devastated. So this year he is winning late and might play his way on to the Ryder Cup team. The goal is to get into the top 5 for the Tour Championship. If you are in one of those positions you control your destiny and could win the FedExCup. Jeff Shain, PGA Tour.com, calls in to wrap up the show. Holly asks Jeff about the Deutsche Bank and the gauntlet of the playoffs. Because of the way the Ryder Cup is scheduled there is no week off like in the past. Brandt Snedeker has not taking a week off since the Open Championship.

Kent Brown is a golf professional whose career and interest in the game spans more than fifty years. His first coach and teacher was his father, who cut down a wooden-shafted five iron, for Kent, when he was only six. His love and passion for the game came almost immediately. Today he is often kidded by his friends as being one-dimensional. It is however, his total commitment to his sport, and his life-long desire to improve, and help others to improve, that has set him apart as one of the top teachers in the country. Even though Kent spends most of his time at junior golf tournaments, and teaching juniors, and adults alike; he has never stopped being a student of the game himself. Kent feels privileged to have had opportunities for personal interaction with many industry leaders, top instructors, and PGA Tour professionals—most notably, Ben Hogan. He currently serves on the Southern California PGA Advisory Committee. Kent played on his high school golf team before playing on scholarship at Cal State Long Beach, where he was team captain and number-one player in his junior and senior years. After instructing golf in the US Army, Kent turned professional, and joined the mini-tour ranks. He played competitive tournament golf for almost three years before accepting a position with the Ben Hogan Company in Ft Worth, Texas. It was there at the Ben Hogan Company, Kent continued his learning from the master.
