We've talked a lot on previous shows with many great guests about the coming of the new wireless 5G system. Barrie Trower, Virginia Farver, Katie Singer and others have helped us learn the dangers and damage done to all life by the microwave radiation that is increasingly polluting our world. Now the determined push by government and its partner industries to install the infrastructure of 5G across America and ultimately the rest of the world means we need to take our awareness of this issue to the next level. Dana Laake and her special guest Katie Singer will discuss the dangers of EMFs, with an emphasis on the vulnerability of children. Katie Singer works on public policy with the Electromagnetic Radiation Policy Institute. She is a medical journalist whose books include The Garden of Fertility (Avery, 2004), Honoring Our Cycles (New Trends, 2006), and Honoring Our Cycles in Africa (2007). Her novel, The Wholeness of a Broken Heart (Riverhead, 1999), was a selection of Barnes & Noble’s Discover Great New Writers Program. She teaches internationally.

When recent guest Virginia Farver asked me if I had tried to get Katie Singer on the show, I had to admit I was not familiar with Katie's work, or her book An Electronic Silent Spring. I consider myself somewhat well-informed on the Wi-Fi, EMF issues, due to our great guests and my own research. Katie's book showed me there was a vast amount I didn't know. I consider her book on a par with Rachel Carson's 1962 classic Silent Spring, after which An Electronic Silent Spring is named. They are both amazing compendiums of knowledge that are of life or death importance to all creatures on our planet. Rachel Carson warned about the rise of deadly chemicals that would pollute all life on Earth and could eventually end it. Katie Singer warns about the same magnitude of danger from microwave radiation and unnatural magnetic fields that accompany the technologies that recently emerged on our planet and are bathing us with increasingly intense life-damaging energy. In both cases, government has pretended to regulate the new materials and technologies for the benefit of humanity, but has worked, and is working, in close partnership with the industries that are poisoning the Earth, and us. We will also ask Katie to look at what we as individuals and groups can do to minimize the damage, in hopes of turning the whole situation around while there is yet time.

Katie Singer, author of An Electronic Silent Spring, educates us on legislative policy that has paved the way for cell phone and electronics usage that has been proven to uncouple DNA, linked to brain cancer, and most importantly - how we can limit exposure and damage to our health.

Louise is the author of the book Lunaception. If you had an opportunity to listen to my interview with Katie Singer, you’ll remember that we talked about the power of “night lighting” techniques to improve the health and regularity of menstrual cycles. This concept came from Louise’s work in this area. CU-Boulder Electrical Engineering Emeritus Professor Frank Barnes is the past president of the BioElectroMagnetics Society.  He recently chaired a National Research Council panel on research priorities related to the potential health effects of exposure to radio frequency energy from the use of wireless technology, such as cell phones.  As a scientist, Frank Barnes recently talked with a citizen activist, Katie Singer, about her new book, An Electronic Silent Spring.   This is an extended version of the interview we broadcast on June 3rd 2014.  -- Shelley Schlender
