Navigating the world with a disability can often feel like an uphill battle, especially when it comes to travel. We've experienced it firsthand as we journey with our son Lliam. Our struggles sparked a conversation and led us on a journey to understand more about accessibility. We found ourselves crossing paths with the passionate advocates behind AccessibleGo – a leading accessible travel website in the US that's revolutionizing the game for travelers with disabilities. Today, we're thrilled to bring you a deep dive into this fantastic platform and the people at its helm.In our chat with AccessibleGo's Program Manager, Patch Epstein she gives us an inside look into how they're breaking down barriers in travel, confirming accessibility for each booking, and generating revenue while doing so. Patch shares the experiences of several clients and the transformative impact AccessibleGo has had on their travels. Plus, we pick her brain on ways we can make our own spaces more welcoming and accessible. We round off our discussion by delving into the wide array of services AccessibleGo offers to improve travel accessibility, and Patch shares their vision for the future. From booking accommodations to providing a treasure trove of resources for travelers with disabilities - they're truly making a difference. Patch also talks about their inspiring Travel Inspiration blog, a brilliant resource for activity ideas. So, let's explore together and learn about the incredible work AccessibleGo is doing to pave the way for truly accessible travel for all.Support the showThank you for listening to our podcast and for your continued support! In this week's coffee with consultants feature, we hear from Dr Lliam Brannigan, representing the sub-specialty of critical care medicine and intensive care. Dr Brannigan is an intensive care specialist and HOD at the Wits Donald Gordon Medical Centre critical care department. He has a research and clinical interest in liver transplantation and high risk surgery, and especially failure to rescue, and is a long standing member of numerous specialist societies. Lliam was a Helicopter EMS doctor on Echo 1 and then completed a speciality in anaesthesia before moving onto a critical care fellowship. We had a brilliant chat about medicine in South africa, as well as some of the challenges we face as young doctors, such as shortages of posts and opportunities, and lack of senior support and encouragement. This episode was recorded over Zoom, & is also available as a video episode on Youtube. Even if you prefer to listen to the audio format of this podcast, please take a minute to head over to the Dr Coffee Podcast Youtube channel, subscribe and give a like to this video. I know it's a bit of work on your part, however it's simply the best way to support the growth of the podcast and let the algorithm know this is something junior doctors want to hear. Thank you so much for your support! It's the Dr Coffee Podcast's 1st birthday on the 1st of July 2023! Our very 1st episode with Dr Mark Torres-Holmes was released on the 1st of July 2022. Since then, the podcast has gained over 2000 followers on Instagram, almost 450 followers on Spotify, had over 17 000 downloads across all platforms, sporadically topped the Apple Podcast charts in its category, and become South Africa's top locally-produced medical podcast. And this is just the beginning! In a little over a week's time, we will be letting you in on a little secret: about an exciting new long-term corporate partner with the podcast, one I believe truly has the success of junior doctors at heart. The podcast has also opened up new opportunities for engagement with various levels and healthcare stakeholders, so I'm really excited to be amplifying the voices and interests of our country's junior doctors and medical students. To that end, if you'd like to let us know about a project or cause initiated by a junior doctor or medical student that you feel deserves airtime on the podcast, or if you'd like to collaborate with us or purchase sponsored content segments on the podcast, please get in touch. We can provide exposure and advertising to our audience in a number of ways, whether it be collaborating on an event at your medical school with a student society or interest-group, featuring guests in episodes or special segments, or on the podcast itself in the form of pre-roll, mid-roll or post-roll ads. All university, student, or charity initiatives are given airtime free of charge. If you believe, like we do, in the potential and talent of south africa's junior doctors and future doctors, and would like to work together to make a positive difference, send an email to the podcast's email address, drcoffeeza@gmail.com. Well, that's it for this week's episode. I'd like to take a moment to direct you briefly to our Linktree URL: https://linktr.ee/drcoffeeza and our instagram page, @DrCoffeeZA. There you'll find links to all our podcast episodes, some of the collaborators we've been working with, as well as a Google Form you can complete if you're interested in working with the Dr Coffee Podcast. Thank you for your support, and we'll see you in Episode 40!

Individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities (I/DD) and their families often find themselves dealing with complexity and even intentional obfuscation as they navigate the path of Medicaid eligibility and benefits That is why we find it exhilarating when along that path we find individuals with expertise and empathy. I have discovered both those qualities in Marianne Huff. Although Marianne's highest level of expertise is in the mental health arena...the rules governing Medicaid are, with just a few exceptions, the same we deal with in the I/DD world. I have known Marianne for several years. About 5 years ago she provided invaluable information when we found ourselves in a benefit eligibility dispute with our local Community Mental Health organization and were anxiously facing an appeal before an Administrative Judge. Marianne's advice and guidance resulted in a positive outcome for our son Lliam. I believe you will find this episode enlightening and come to realize we also have allies and advocates within the community of professionals working MHAM. Fresh from Tahiti I have the Epic 135lb Champion Tehanahana Bernardino, Professional Fighter Raihere Dudes, and Lliam Baker an up and coming Amateur Fighter. We talked about MMA being illegal in Tahiti until last year, and what motivates these fighters to travel so far from their island of Tahiti to fight. We also discussed their upcoming fights this Friday, March 18th at Four Points Sheraton here in San Diego with Epic Fighting & Tahiti Fighting Championship. Enjoy!

Excited to hear that Lliam Ly was going to fly back his Toronto hood, we had to get this interview together. Being the creative behind both Kodawari Collective and Koda Sound logos, Lliam's story with KC stems from the very beginnings of this whole car passion endeavour. This is not as much a car episode as it is about growing as a person and a business, and giving out life lessons from a Toronto mans living in Vancouver type of vibe. Nau and Lliam reflect on growing up together being the only Vietnamese families in their neighbourhood, sharing stories about the resilience of fighting for what you're passionate about. We were so glad to hear Lliam finally picked up his first car after moving out to Vancouver and hearing his take as a new enthusiast in the car game.Check out this video podcast on YouTube: HERE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Follow Lliam on IG: HEREFollow Lliam's YT Channel: HERE ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Follow & Support Kodawari ↴Instagram: @kodawaricollective & @kodacast Website and merch store: https://www.kodawaricollective.com/ ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~Music: Jobii - PizzazzProduced & edited by: @koda_sound

***WARNING***The topics in this episode might not be suitable for everyone. This episode covers the period of time during which one of the twins passes. This is an intense and very raw subject that is addressed directly. Please use your best judgement. Join Steve, Kerry, and Alex as they discuss the events that brought their family into the disability community and eventually led to this very podcast. No matter how your journey with disability began, we all have a story, and we all share certain traumas. We are sharing our story to help others know they're not alone. Our goal is to fight the isolation that seems to soak into the very bones of the disability community. In this episode, I talked with Lliam Hildebrand about his inspiration and reasons for founding Iron+Earth; the huge opportunities to transform the dying fossil fuel industry workforce into a renewable energy workforce; the opportunities and challenges for policy to drive large-scale social change; and about the “Prosperous Transition Plan” that Iron+Earth is now rolling out, that, if implemented, could transform Canada’s workforce, businesses, infrastructure, and environment to meet the demands of a future net-zero economy. We also talked about what gives Lliam hope and keeps him going when things look dark, and the advice he would offer listeners about what they can do to be part of making a difference in meeting the challenges of the Twenty First Century Imperative. Lliam is the founder, and now Executive Director, of Iron+Earth, a not-for-profit NGO led by Alberta oilsands workers committed to both re-training oil industry workers for new jobs in the rapidly emerging renewable energy industry, and to engaging in, and advocating for, renewable energy development to create an energy future they can proud of. Lliam led the creation of this organization during the spring of 2015 when oil prices started to fall. Oil sands workers were losing their jobs, and the need to diversify Alberta’s energy grid was on everyone’s mind. As Lliam notes, “We founded Iron+Earth as a platform to engage in renewable energy development issues, and to empower us to advocate for an energy future we could be proud of creating.” Since its inception, membership has grown to include workers from a variety of industrial trades, including boilermakers, electricians, pipe fitters, ironworkers, and labourers. The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast | Valuable Advice For Aspiring Entrepreneurs
TRE:62 - Today I speak with Lliam O'Neill, a man of many talents and skills. He brought so much value in this interview, from teaching us how to manage pain to how to get out of your own way, this show will help you unlock your true potential. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3dW0DVj ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Saying “Yes” to things that may not make sense now can lead to very interesting opportunities. Bringing value + being persistent = win. Meditation is the key to reducing stress and unlocking your true potential. ----- Show Notes: 1:44 - In your TEDx Talk, you willingly take a swift kick to the balls… what's the message behind that? Lliam is the “Prove It” guy and he believes you can do more than you imagine possible. In his talks Lliam says that pain is a signal in the brain and can be controlled, so he demonstrates that by performing stunts like getting kicked in the groin, getting hit with hammers, walking on glass, etc. 5:06 - Tell us from the beginning how you got started in entrepreneurship. At a young age Lliam took a Shaolin training class and ended up loving it. One weekend turned into 3 years and he ended up getting hired on as the application coach. Then he randomly moved in with a magician and was instantly hooked when he saw a magic trick that blew his mind. That led to hypnotherapy and he helped a friend stop smoking through hypnosis. Now he trains executive teams and CEO's how to increase productivity and manage stress by combining all of his skills. 10:05 - What was it that made you want to make that initial change in your life? Lliam's friends at the time were heavy into drinking and drugs but he never got into that. He asked himself, “What would anybody have to say about me if I died today?” and nothing came up, so he knew he had to do something meaningful with his life. 11:47 - What advice would you give to someone who is looking to make a change in their life? Lliam says that the “comfort zone” is actually the “uncomfortable zone” because no one really enjoys their life when they are stuck doing the same things over and over. He says if you're not happy, try everything. Something will stick. 14:44 - How are you using social media and the internet in your business? At first, Lliam didn't agree with social media because of the aspect of comparing yourself to others and the self-doubt that creates, but now he uses it to research and learn from the greats. He also publishes a podcast and now creates content to reach out to people and to help. 20:45 - Can you speak on persistence as it relates to prospecting and outreach? Is there too much? Lliam says that it's important to be persistent but to always bring value too. 25:52 - What strategies are you using in your life to manage your work and life? Lliam meditates 3 times a day. He eats 100% plant based. He plans things he enjoys doing that isn't work. 29:58 - Where can people find you and download your meditation mp3? www.limitationisamirage.com Search “The Prove It” guy on social media Limitation is a Mirage podcast 32:05 - What are some steps to start meditating if you've never done it before? The mp3s are a great place to start. When you breathe, don't force the air out. Let it come out naturally like a sigh. When your thoughts creep in, don't try to force them away. Thank them and allow them to flow by. 36:25 - Considering where you're at today, what is a piece of advice you would give yourself 5 - 10 years ago? Don't listen to people in your life that tell you can't do something. ----- Subscribe to The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast on all your favorite apps and outlets! iTunes: https://bit.ly/TREoniTunes Spotify: https://bit.ly/TREonSpotify Google: https://bit.ly/TREonGoogle Stitcher: https://bit.ly/TREonStitcher iHeartRadio: https://bit.ly/TREoniHeart Youtube: https://bit.ly/TREonYouTube Facebook: https://bit.ly/TREonFacebook Website: https://therisingentrepreneur.com View the entire playlist on Youtube: https://bit.ly/TREonYT ----- Want to be on the show? In 2008, a band of young Islamic militants from Pakistan lands in Mumbai, their primary target, the iconic Taj Mahal hotel. With Indian forces unable to regain control, for 4 days the guests must battle to survive as the terrorists seek to drive them from hiding. The harrowing events that follow will come to be known as India’s 9/11 and one of the most audacious terrorist attacks in history is captured in a horrifying and enlightening story of cruelty and sustaining humanity. One Less God Director Lliam Worthington joins us to talk about why it was important for him to shine a light on a tale of monsters and men. Director Lliam Worthington Statement: “I wanted to craft a story that walked the line between demonization and apologetics, and that would be a genuine movement towards greater humanism and compassion. One that might aspire to promote healthy discussion afterwards, as opposed to heighten fear and increase the polarization. I also wanted to capture the emotional authenticity of those who suffered in the attacks but counter that with a genuine exploration into the psyches of the terrorists. Then use those two conflicting yet parallel journeys as a means to evoke broader questions around man’s inhumanity to man and the nature of belief.” For news and updates go to: newrealmsfilms.com.au For details on the screening of One Less God go to: danceswithfilms.com/one-less-god
