We talk with serial entrepreneur Nick Cavuoto about some deep truths of entrepreneurship, and how regardless of your past, you can become and accomplish anything you desire by simply reevaluating how you judge your environment and experience. Don't miss this episode!  Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/302Veb6 ----- 3 Main Takeaways: The “how” always solves itself, you just have to have competence and confidence. Trusting the process is a guarantee. Switch the roles in prospecting calls so that you're interviewing your potential customers and clients more than they are interviewing you. All business is spiritual in its nature, because entrepreneurs are always trying to prove something to themselves based on the past stories they hold as true. ----- Show Notes: 2:20 - Take us to the beginning. Why are you into online marketing? As a young kid he realized that content creation was something that he loved. He accidentally fell into event marketing as a pastor when he 10x'd his ministry. The how always solves itself, you just have to have competence and confidence. 10:20 - How do you know when a company is ready for marketing? If the CEO is the only one who is selling, this is a problem. There are too many variables that create risk in this scenario. The better question is what problem do you really want to solve? 17:04 - For those that are still getting started, is working for free a good way to get your first results or case studies? Good friends don't let other friends do stuff for free. Know your stuff so that you can show up with competence and confidence. The bigger the “why”, the bigger the “try”.  26:06 - What are some things you struggled with on your journey to create the level of introspection that you have? At 5, Nick had a near-death experience in a swimming pool where he almost drowned. A few years later his grandmother basically forced him to face his fears and taught him to swim.  He believes his calling is just to get back up when he fails. It's part of the process. 36:48 - Perils & Pearls. What is the biggest peril you've had to face and what's the pearl of wisdom that can help us avoid it or come out faster? At some point all business becomes spiritual. We must be careful about what and how we judge our experience and the stories we tell ourselves.  If you're stuck right now, you have to go back to the stories you hold as truth and reevaluate how you're judging them. 52:48 - Tell us where people can find you online and what you got going on? Business is a mirror to self. Nick's specialty is unmuting people and he offers this through his program Mentormind.  If you're serious about becoming the #1 influencer, check out www.nickcavuoto.com/mentormind ----- Subscribe to The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast on all your favorite apps and outlets! Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/2CnvbCR ----- 3 Main Takeaways: It may feel natural and normal to play small, but it's a limiting story we tell ourselves. When we can change that story we can become the greatness we truly are. You must ask for help in your journey from time to time. Thinking you can do everything alone is a mistake and will cost you more than you know. Creating accountability is a huge hack to accomplishing the things you want to accomplish.  ----- Show Notes: 2:05 - Take us back Matt, why are you so passionate about helping men live life on their terms? Why is this important to you? Matt says he learned at a young age from his parents to play small and to not stand out, which translated into him not being able to “show up” in life. When he started his sales career, he saw an example of what he wanted to become at a conference when he saw a guy get up on stage and inspire the crowd through his story and message. Matt tells an interesting story of when he started a business selling Goji berries in Sweden. 10:30 - Matt you built a successful business by all standards, but you say it wasn't the right vehicle to spread your message. What was going through your mind as you knew you wanted to do more? In the beginning he was able to do what he was good at, which was sales. But as the business grew he fell more and more out of alignment with it because he had to take on other roles and skills that he wasn't good at. Eventually the business bankrupted for a number of reasons, but this was the first time he asked for help from someone else. Matt says that all men play small, it's natural. And we don't share our struggles with each other. But only when we do, can we grow. 15:18 - For those that feel hand-cuffed to their business, what's your message to them? Matt says that a lot of time we're just busy being busy. It's important to step back and look at the inputs coming into your life and whether you are just reacting to them or are you actively creating what you want? He says not to be distracted by “good ideas” and shiny things when you're on a path, but to be aware of them for potential pivots in the future. 17:30 - How do you stay focused on stay on path towards the next step? It's an eternal question. Do not look at others and then believe that they are ahead of you.  Just focus on your own path and your own goals. Are you taking actions towards your goals? Matt has a 4 step system. First find a proven system to take you from point a to point b. Second, create accountability around what you want to do. Third, learn from the actions you take and the accountability. Fourth, take action on what you learned. 25:08 - How do you know when to continue down a path or pivot? What are you measuring? Matt pays attention to his feelings. What triggers him? What moves him? He looks at what he can harvest from his experiences, and uses that in his future actions. 32:00 - Perils & Pearls. What is the biggest peril you've had to face in your path and what pearl helped you get out? After 10 years of experience in online sales and business, Matt decided to get into coaching thinking he had everything he needed to be successful but he quickly realized that he wasn't building the right assets with his prospects. He says he learned that he needs to build trust, intimacy and authority but he wasn't able to create that online in the beginning. The key for him was to start asking his clients what they wanted to learn instead of telling them what they should know. 42:28 - Where can people find you online and learn more about this process? www.interviewprofit.com for a free 5 day challenge to learn how to use interviews to sell your stuff. 44:44 - If you could back in time and sit with yourself 5-10 years ago, what is one pearl of wisdom you would leave for yourself? Join my free community on Facebook if you're ready to operate at a HIGHER LEVEL: http://myfbgroup.com TRE:70 - Are you a struggling salesperson? John Molyneux has been in sales for decades and drops some amazing pearls of wisdom in this interview for all aspiring sales people. He shares his experience in multiple industries and tips for how you can overcome some of the most common objections you're likely to hear in sales. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/32Cw2u0 ----- 3 Main Takeaways: If you want to be in sales, get used to hearing “no” and then learn how to dig deeper through objections to find what your prospect really wants. Belief in your product and in yourself are the two keys to being a successful salesperson. Don't listen to the critics and haters that will inevitably be there as you grow, they simply don't understand your journey. ----- Show Notes: 1:36 - How did you become the “Sales Samurai”? John was in the army and when he got back into civilian life he found it hard to readjust into a professional career. He fell into sales when he started working at a martial arts studio as he was knocking on doors to sell the training packages. He says “no is just a yes that isn't ready yet.” 4:01 - How does someone get over being afraid to hear “no” when doing sales? John says that no one likes to hear “no” but through his practice and determination he became immune to hearing it. 6:26 - How do you transition a “no” into a “yes”? There is always a genuine “no” where the prospect simply isn't interested and there isn't much you can do about that. There is also the “no” that leads to general objections like “I can't afford it” or “I need to speak to someone” or “I don't have the time”. John says these are typically a mirror and there is a deeper reason behind the objection, which is your job as a salesperson to dig deeper and figure out. 10:50 - How did you pivot in response to covid? John was selling doors and windows through door to door sales, but has jumped back on the phones since Covid shut everything down. He now sells high ticket course packages on how people can make money on Amazon (work from home.) 12:22 - Getting someone on the phone and selling something for $4,000 isn't easy. What strategies or tips could you give us to help make that close? If you don't believe in what you're selling 100%, it will always be hard to be successful. It's even better to own the product yourself. The second thing is being genuine. You must have a genuine care for your prospects and customers and actually want to help them solve their problems. The third thing is to leverage social proof and answer the question “what is better about this compared to other options out there?” 17:42 - What is the difference between sales and closing? John says closing is just part of the sales process, but it's the most important part because if you can't do it you're going to struggle. John says that most salespeople that don't/can't close is probably because they don't actually believe in their product. 21:50 - What's next for you in your adventure as a rising entrepreneur John? He's putting together a sales course for those that are brand new to sales. He's also got a podcast that he's very passionate about. Eventually he wants to write a Sales Samurai book. 33:33 - Perils & Pearls. What is the biggest peril you've overcome in your journey and what pearl of wisdom helped you get out? The first thing he dealt with was self doubt. Positive self talk is the most important thing you can do for yourself. You will also always get people that don't want you to succeed, they don't want you to achieve your goals, but you have to ignore them and keep pushing forward. John says don't take yourself too seriously. Take time to do things you enjoy along with your grind. 40:40 - Where can people find you online? Success Breeds Success show on all podcasting platforms. 44:20 - If you could go back in time and sit with yourself 5-10 years ago, what pearl would you leave for yourself? John says everything is part of the journey and he lives with no regrets. He also says to believe in yourself more. ----- Subscribe to The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast on all your favorite apps and outlets! It's amazing how many businesses don't have a Facebook pixel on their website. 22:55 - How are you managing your life and work and keeping balance? Tim loves to travel to see different cities and cultures. He also enjoys kayaking even though he lost his $300 glasses last time lol! 30:12 - Based on all your experience thus far, what is one piece of advice you would tell yourself 5-10 years ago? He helps online coaches scale their businesses to $20-30k months! In this episode he breaks down all kinds of ways that will help you grow your online coaching business. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3eqng4g ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Niching down and having a super narrow focus of who you're helping (in the beginning) will get you much faster results. You can 4-5x your business (without more traffic) by improving only 3 things: retention, referral, and close percentage. Fall in love with the process of serving people and you will live a fulfilled life. ----- Show Notes: 0:55 - How did you get started out as an entrepreneur? Reuben always felt he was destined for something great. He saw possibilities online when he realized how much his wife made as an online coach compared to his salary as a bricklayer. He tried multiple online ventures before he found success as a fitness coach where he quickly made 6 figures in his first 6 months.  After a couple years of coaching, he started getting asked how he did it, and then he started coaching entrepreneurs to build their own coaching business. 5:30 - How does one know when they can become “the coach”? Most coaches Rueben talks with are heart-centered, and they are passionate about serving and helping people get results.  He says that while not necessary, it's smart to get a certification in your area at some point if you want to be a coach. 9:15 - A lot of coaches struggle with the financial/selling side of the business. What challenges have you seen working with coaches on helping them make more money? Reuben says that everything they do is centered around providing value first. The second thing is to make sure you have a good money mindset. 11:15 - How do you quantify value as a coach? One metric Reuben tracks is something they call “value pieces.” A value piece is a piece of information that your ideal clientele would raise their hand to, but everyone else would not. He pushes his clients to get out 50 value pieces per week to their prospects. 23:30 - Traffic problem vs. conversion problem. What's the deal? Look at every step in your process before people become leads and you will probably find somewhere where people are falling out of your funnel. The next thing is looking at retention rates. How long are you keeping your customers? Then look at referrals. Are your customers bringing you new customers? If not, they should be. Most entrepreneurs do not have a traffic problem, they have a conversion problem. 31:48 - Perils & Pearls. What is the biggest peril you've come across in your journey, and what pearl got you out of it? Reuben plateaued and was stuck, and he realized that he was out of alignment with his passion because he was doing what everyone else in his industry was doing. He ended up hiring a mentor that taught him how to truly find his zone of genius and also showed him how to step out of being the “hero” of every part of his business. 39:48 - Can it be too early to automate and delegate in your business? The first thing that needs to be true is that you have a system that works. You also need to have the resources to support the automation. Finally, don't be desperate that the automation works or you're going under. That's a recipe for disaster. 44:45 - For all coaches out there, how can they get in touch with you and work with you to expand their business? “Aspiring Online Coaches” Facebook group. (Now called “Online Coaches Uprising”) 47:10 - If you were given the opportunity to sit down with yourself 5-10 years ago, what is one pearl of wisdom you would leave for yourself? (Sorry about it.) In today's episode, Peter Kozodoy. Author of Honest To Greatness, shows us how honesty can be used as a strategy to start and grow any business to a successful exit. He also shares his experience failing to get into the Olympics, starting a video production company that went belly-up, and then successfully growing a multi-million dollar marketing firm. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/2CpiEye ----- 3 Main Takeaways: A business should never be built around you at the center. It should be built as a self-managed cash flow machine with the intention of being sold at some point in the future. 100% of your business problems are actually personal problems in disguise. There is no point in worrying about things in business as all it does is create stress over things you can't control anyway. ----- Show Notes: 1:50 - Give us a short synopsis of your new book “Honest To Greatness” Peter was fascinated by the fact that some companies could take his marketing firm's growth strategies and crush it while others just blew up on the launch pad, and he wanted to know why. Through a few turn of events, he came to realize that it all boiled down to how these companies used honesty as a strategy for growth. Even as a cynic, Peter knows that honesty is what makes organizations great. 5:23 - Walk us through the resistance you felt when you thought you were writing a marketing book but your editor told you otherwise. Peter says that if we allow ourselves the creative space to test things, and we're open minded enough to try new things, we can find our own greatness. Honesty is an act of attrition. It's about removing things from your life, not adding things. There's a difference between being honest and being helpful. 8:36 - What is a “crisis of honesty”? At 18, Peter had 2 of his dreams crushed. He wanted to be an Olympic figure skater and he had always dreamed of going to Harvard.  Reflecting back on this experience at 30, he realized that they had become 2 massive chips on his shoulder holding him back. 15:44 - What steps did you take to move through that crisis and know that things were going to be ok? Peter focused on creating and he took to learning as much as possible. What honest actions am I taking today to set myself up for success in 10 years from now? 20 years from now? He learned to listen to what truly is important to him. 22:20 - Perils & Pearls. What is the biggest peril you've faced as an entrepreneur and what pearl got you out of it? Even though he went to Columbia and got an MBA, he fundamentally misunderstood what business is. He started by building a terrible business that would have never worked. Then he realized that business is simply cashflow and when you build something, focus on the systems that will help it run itself, create profits, manage itself, etc. 32:50 - You're so brilliant with what you've learned over the years, how and in what ways do you serve people in your coaching? Peter specializes in working with entrepreneurs because they are fast to move and make changes, vs. a corporation that could take years to make changes. He runs an 8-week business bootcamp to help people just getting started and he also has a mastermind group called Forum, which focuses on the “5%” of activities that matter the most. 40:12 - Where can people go to get ahold of you and take advantage of what you offer? www.honesttogreatness.com Take the quiz! www.peterkozodoy.com/bonus to get the new book! 42:42 - How can we strategically use honesty in our business to grow? Peter says our assumptions about business are what's killing us. The first place to be honest is with ourselves, and to see where we need to improve. When we as entrepreneurs fail to communicate the entire truth with the people, customers, vendors that we work with, we lose. Be honest about what it takes to run an actual thriving business. 52:57 - If you could go back 5-10 years in the past and give yourself one piece of advice, what would it be? Stop worrying.  ----- Subscribe to The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast on all your favorite apps and outlets! Join my free community on Facebook for more business advice: www.myfbgroup.com TRE:66 - If you're struggling to get ahead and have obstacles to overcome in business, Chris Donaldson can show you the way. He took over his family's real estate education business after a devastating hurricane tore everything apart in 2005, built it through the housing recession of 2008 to a leading school in the industry, and today is responsible for laws being written in real estate regulatory law books around the country. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3gLJ1x8 ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Accountability creates discipline. Discipline creates action. Only action gets you results. Copy cats can never copy as fast as creators can create. Stay focused on your goals and don't worry about what your competition is doing. Always run your decisions through the lens of “will this help my customer or end user?”  ----- Show Notes: 1:53 - Can you elaborate on what “Parkinson's Law” is, and how it may be affecting everyone listening right now? Parkinson's Law states that a task will expand to take up the time allotted to it. As an entrepreneur, you are accountable to yourself and have the ability to make a task take as long as you allow. Squeezing these time frames and not giving ourselves too much time to complete a task can be a huge win for many people. Chris mentions that calling your shot publicly and creating that accountability can help you accomplish the task as well. 9:15 - How did you get started as an entrepreneur? Chris now runs his family business that was started by his grandfather, even though he vowed to himself to never get into the family business! When hurricane Katrina hit New Orleans, his entire family and business was dispersed and falling apart, and he felt a calling to get in and help rebuild it. 14:40 - You offer training and education for real estate agents, how has the digital landscape changed the way you interact with your clients? “We are a great example of how the landscape created so many examples as long as you didn't hide from it.” In the beginning, all courses had to be done in a classroom by law and by 2002, Chris' dad brought him in for help on how to start figuring out the “internet” stuff. Chris tells a story of how he had to fire the Yellow Pages in 2011 because it was clear to him that the old way of doing things wasn't creating results. When you focus on the customer and the end user and how to create value for them, you will always win. 39:50 - It's important to stay relevant and pivot when things change. If you have money to invest in a business but don't know what to do, invest that money into a skill. If you have the opportunity to learn any skill, make it sales, customer service and how to deal with people. 44:13 - How do you manage your time and your family business? Chris says everything is carved in water and it changes day to day. He knows what he is trying to do intentionally, which guides his day-to-day actions. Night before, he wrote his todo list. TRE:65 - Create More Time In Your Day? With Matt Granados

Join my free community on Facebook for more business advice: www.myfbgroup.com TRE:65 - Today's interview is interesting as our guest Matt Granados joins us from the ICU where his daughter is being cared for (his story will blow you away). Matt built a pet distribution company to over $40Mil and now runs a consulting agency helping entrepreneurs master their mindset, and in this interview he shares real strategies for getting more done in the same time. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/2Z9o3Ta ----- 3 Main Takeaways: When properly planned, no obstacle or interruption can throw you off track. Understand that motivation is a mindset, not a character trait. It can be changed through practice and with the right tools. Acknowledge your weaknesses but don't waste time trying to fix them. Instead leverage your strengths. ----- Show Notes: 1:10 - Matt, you posted something about your Sunday planning, can you explain that to our listeners please? The best way to plan your life is one week at a time. Matt and his family celebrate “the next week” every Sunday while they plan out their schedules. For most, planning is not just an area of neglect, but an area of avoidance. 5:20 - How did you become an entrepreneur? At 15, Matt was a DJ and when collecting his pay for a gig he realized how little he was getting paid when he was doing the bulk of the work. His father taught him that was the difference between being an entrepreneur and an employee. He found for himself, and for many aspiring entrepreneurs, that the traditional path of go to college, get a degree and get a job isn't for everyone. 10:20 - So you said your first business that grew to over $1Mil was called Pocket Pets? I partnered with a buddy in an established business where we were the exclusive distributors of an animal called a Sugar Glider. It grew quickly, but through this experience Matt realized that entrepreneurship is not glamorous, nor is it for everyone. Matt now uses this business to help other entrepreneurs starting out on their journey. (If you're interested in checking this out: http://ppbizopp.com/) 21:30 - What are some strategies you're using to accomplish this work-life integration as you call it? Having a partner is extremely critical for Matt because his partner (who happens to be his wife) fills all the holes he has as an entrepreneur. He says planning and communication are important, but understanding that things will happen or come up and staying flexible enough to adapt is the true strength of a good entrepreneur. Matt's consulting business is built around this specific issue: It's a 9-part system called Life Pulse. (Get your own here: https://www.lifepulseinc.com/mylp/) The concept behind LP is called Reverse Planning which goes like this: You list everything you want out of life, in all areas. Then you pick out the things you need to do vs. want to do. (The need to do things are the things that are directly related to a goal of yours.) People who use this system have reported that they have gained back an extra 15 hours per week, or an extra month per year of productivity! 28:55 - Can we get your insights into what you think about the digital landscape and technology as it relates to business? Matt wrote a book called Motivating the Unmotivated and through his coaching he's found the secret to moving forward is adaptability. You must look at an industry and it's past to start to understand where the pivots will need to happen. Technology has increased the speed of change rapidly, and it has the ability to make what you do more effective (not efficient - that part is up to you.) 36:01 - You said to remind you about disruptors, what's that? Matt explains his idea about how to spot when and where a disruptor is likely to happen, just watch it - you gotta see this! 38:35 - What are some ways to help motivate others? Matt says motivation is a mindset, not a character trait. There are 4 motivation catalysts: freedom, acknowledgement, connectivity and support. Go here to get your gift from Matt and Life Pulse: (https://www.lifepulseinc.com/podgift) Ask these 3 questions: What are you focused on (the one things)? What are you grateful for? What are you working towards this week? 43:15 - Based on all your experience, what is one piece of advice you would give yourself 5-10 years ago? Listen to and find more mentors. Only take what you can use and leave anything you can't. 45:40 - Tell everyone where they can get in touch with you for more information. Matt87Granados on all social. Lifepulseinc on all social. Matt and his wife have a podcast called “Realationship”. Send Matt an email! Matt@lifepulseinc.com Matt's final thought: Be comfortable acknowledging your weaknesses, but don't spend too much time trying to fix them. Acknowledge the weakness and leverage your strengths. ----- Subscribe to The Rising Entrepreneur Podcast on all your favorite apps and outlets! Today we talk about all the benefits of self-publishing your own book, as well as some amazing strategies you can use to get started today! Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/2AEO9UA ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Self-publishing is absolutely the way to go when writing your first (or next) book because no publisher should be the one giving a green light on your project. A book is a better marketing piece than just about anything else because of the positioning power, intrinsic value and reach it provides. ADD is a blessing for an entrepreneur, but it must be balanced with focus and follow-through. ----- Show Notes: 3:06 - Hey Everett, why books? Why book publishing and how did you get into helping others? While running his other marketing company, Everett became aware of how powerful books can be for businesses. He wrote and launched his first book in 30 days as a proof of concept, and it instantly became a best-seller. 5:48 - What happened before you wrote your first book that made you decide to do this experiment in the first place? At the time Everett was selling SMS marketing and quickly realized it was a commodity. With the success of Kindle, he saw opportunity in the publishing space. 12:45 - Could you explain the difference between traditional publishing and self-publishing? In traditional publishing, they'll bring you on when you have a big following and have the ability to sell a lot of books. You also sacrifice a level of creative control when you sign a traditional publishing agreement. 17:10 - What are some ways you can write your own self-published book? Start with the content you already have, you could quickly create a manuscript with that material. Consider the frequently asked questions (and the should of asked questions) in your industry, and answering these questions give you a chance to showcase your expertise. 25:20 - Perils & Pearls: What is the biggest peril that you ran into in your entrepreneurial journey and what pearl got you out of it? Entrepreneurs have to have a certain level of ADD to be effective because they need the ability to see new opportunities and the desire to learn and dive into new ideas. This is also problematic when it becomes shiny-object syndrome. You must balance the distractibility with focus and accountability. 33:30 - For everyone that understands the power of a book and wants to dive deeper, how can they get started? www.Ignitepress.us to schedule a free consultation with Everette. You get to keep all your creative control, royalties and rights when working with Everette. 37:08 - How do you work with people/deliver your expertise to your clients? The process is one-on-one with each person involved in the publishing process. 47:45 - If you were to go back in time and sit down with yourself 5-10 years ago, what is the pearl you would leave for yourself? Join a mastermind sooner. Maintain focus on that which is important, which is not necessarily finances. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3isvLiB ----- 3 Main Takeaways: A butterfly can't see the color on it's own wings. Sometimes you just need a little insight from an outside perspective to see your greatness. A coach is the best and fastest way to achieve the next level in whatever you are pursuing because they've walked the journey before and will help you avoid the pitfalls along the way. Obscene goals force creativity and breakthroughs that wouldn't otherwise be possible. ----- Show Notes: 0:38 - When did you start coaching? Justine never intended to start coaching. She started off as a collaborator and virtual assistant out of necessity when she quit her job to become a stay-at-home mom. She says she became a coach when she was asked to help one of her friends, and she's so happy she did. 6:52 - So you were asked to be a coach because of a skill you developed, what skill was that? Justine was sharing how she created harmony between life and business and realized that other business owners needed help with that. She helps people magnify their gifts and talents and double-down on their greatness. 12:33 - Who are you specifically trying to help? Who's your tribe? Justine typically works with entrepreneurs that are in the middle of their journey. She helps them reset their situation, find their balance and work on their foundation. 20:33 - What is your take on the idea of “fake it til you make it”? Justine says there are 2 types of entrepreneurs, those are truly faking it and are out their to take advantage of people, and those that are truly out their leveling-up. Instead of “faking” it til you make it, she says to “be” it til you make it. It's important to act as-if while also being upfront and honest with your customers. There is no day where you finally “make it”, you're always shooting for the next star. 27:22 - Everything is an opportunity, even in the bad times. Would you agree that it's important to stay open to what resistance is trying to teach you? Justine says we should be chasing the things we fear. Getting through resistance is oftentimes the moment of breakthrough. 34:16 - Perils & Pearls - What's the biggest peril you've had to overcome in your business and what's a pearl you gained through it? Justine had no belief in herself and what she was capable of but when she hired a coach, it changed everything for her. 45:12 - When it comes to habits and routines, what are some strategies youcan share that would help with balance? Justine likes to encourage people to be competitive with themselves and find ways to “beat” their best. Gamify your goals. She says to also use timers to help with time-management. When the time is up, take a break and reset and reattack. 56:25 - Where can people find you and learn more about your coaching services? @Justinemaderhq on all social media platforms 58:15 - If you had an opportunity to sit down with yourself 5-10 years ago, what pearl would you share with yourself? TRE:62 - Today I speak with Lliam O'Neill, a man of many talents and skills. He brought so much value in this interview, from teaching us how to manage pain to how to get out of your own way, this show will help you unlock your true potential. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3dW0DVj ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Saying “Yes” to things that may not make sense now can lead to very interesting opportunities. Bringing value + being persistent = win. Meditation is the key to reducing stress and unlocking your true potential. ----- Show Notes: 1:44 - In your TEDx Talk, you willingly take a swift kick to the balls… what's the message behind that? Lliam is the “Prove It” guy and he believes you can do more than you imagine possible. In his talks Lliam says that pain is a signal in the brain and can be controlled, so he demonstrates that by performing stunts like getting kicked in the groin, getting hit with hammers, walking on glass, etc. 5:06 - Tell us from the beginning how you got started in entrepreneurship. At a young age Lliam took a Shaolin training class and ended up loving it. One weekend turned into 3 years and he ended up getting hired on as the application coach. Then he randomly moved in with a magician and was instantly hooked when he saw a magic trick that blew his mind. That led to hypnotherapy and he helped a friend stop smoking through hypnosis.  Now he trains executive teams and CEO's how to increase productivity and manage stress by combining all of his skills. 10:05 - What was it that made you want to make that initial change in your life? Lliam's friends at the time were heavy into drinking and drugs but he never got into that. He asked himself, “What would anybody have to say about me if I died today?” and nothing came up, so he knew he had to do something meaningful with his life. 11:47 - What advice would you give to someone who is looking to make a change in their life? Lliam says that the “comfort zone” is actually the “uncomfortable zone” because no one really enjoys their life when they are stuck doing the same things over and over. He says if you're not happy, try everything. Something will stick. 14:44 - How are you using social media and the internet in your business? At first, Lliam didn't agree with social media because of the aspect of comparing yourself to others and the self-doubt that creates, but now he uses it to research and learn from the greats. He also publishes a podcast and now creates content to reach out to people and to help. 20:45 - Can you speak on persistence as it relates to prospecting and outreach? Is there too much? Lliam says that it's important to be persistent but to always bring value too. 25:52 - What strategies are you using in your life to manage your work and life? Lliam meditates 3 times a day. He eats 100% plant based. He plans things he enjoys doing that isn't work. 29:58 - Where can people find you and download your meditation mp3? www.limitationisamirage.com Search “The Prove It” guy on social media Limitation is a Mirage podcast 32:05 - What are some steps to start meditating if you've never done it before? The mp3s are a great place to start. When you breathe, don't force the air out. Let it come out naturally like a sigh. When your thoughts creep in, don't try to force them away. Thank them and allow them to flow by. 36:25 - Considering where you're at today, what is a piece of advice you would give yourself 5 - 10 years ago? TRE:61 - Today I spoke with Erick Silvio, a young entrepreneur and marketing agency owner. He's passionate about helping his clients with their Youtube advertising, and he also teaches aspiring entrepreneurs how to run Youtube ads so they can then sell that skill as a service. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/3dUXt46 ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Youtube advertising is a great opportunity and arbitrage for businesses looking to advertise.  Learning how to run Youtube ads is a great opportunity for new entrepreneurs looking for a service to provide. A positive mindset coupled with tenacity is required to be successful as an entrepreneur. ----- Show Notes: 1:55 - In a video you made on Facebook, you mentioned that you really can't grow while you're in your comfort zone, can you elaborate on that please? Erick says that when you start to do uncomfortable things, things that may not seem “normal” to you, you're not going to love it right off the bat but that's when you really start to grow. He also says this is the path to living a more adventurous life. 5:13 - How did you get started as an entrepreneur? Is this something you've always wanted to do? Erick worked in an office environment and realized how closed-minded his boss was, and figured if someone like that can run a company, he probably can too! He quit his job and took the leap. He went through times when he had no money to his name and was eating canned tuna and rice, but he was determined to figure it out. His girlfriend at the time (now wife) told him that he would only fail if he quit, and today he successfully runs a 6-figure marketing agency. 9:10 - What was your dream? What was your goal with creating your own business? In the beginning, Erick just wanted to be able to create more time freedom for himself and his family.  As he progressed, his goals changed. Now he loves working 80 hours weeks! 12:40 - What is the big grand goal for your business now? Erick wants to hit the Inc 500 list for digital marketing. He would also like to create a following of people that have been able to quit their 9-5 job by learning and using Youtube ads. 15:18 - What is the importance around setting a goal? Erick says when you're comfortable in life it can be really hard to set goals because you become complacent, which is dangerous. He says it's the first step to living a better life. 17:00 - Other than Youtube advertising, what are some things you're excited about in the digital landscape? Erick says Facebook advertising is really hot right now.  He said that in 2018 there was 3x more ad spend on Facebook then on Youtube, which meant more competition on Facebook and less ad costs on Youtube. SEO and PPC marketing is not dead. 19:38 - Where should a new entrepreneur start with digital marketing? Erick says that Youtube ads can be really simple to get started. He also loves the idea of learning that skill and then turning around and selling it to other businesses as a service. 23:23 - Without getting too granular, how can someone get started with Youtube ads? Erick says that first he would think about who he can help with Youtube ads and what types of businesses would benefit the most. He says that certain businesses will benefit more than others. 26:19 - With your business and your family, how do you manage the work/life balance? Erick says he's not super good at keep this in check. His daughter is one year old and he doesn't want to miss out on time with her, and he has a steady rule that he's always available for dinner. At the end of the day, he doesn't want his business to run him but he takes it one day at a time. 31:10 - You seem very laid-back and happy, how can folks be more laid-back like you and not let stress get them down? Erick had a mentor that said “with every adversity that comes to us in life, there is an equal or greater opportunity.” He tells a story of when he and his wife were on their honeymoon and they tried to rent a car but couldn't, and his wife was pretty upset but the way he handled the situation ended up making that moment a highlight of their entire honeymoon. 36:25 - Based on all your experiences, what is a piece of advice you would give yourself, 5 or 10 years ago? Erick says to persist. And to persist fast. He says that is the key he was missing in the beginning when he wasn't sure he was going to make it. 38:57 - Where can people find you online? Lorena runs a podcast and a digital agency to help people like you and me sort out all the confusion of health and life insurance, and help us keep ourselves and our families protected. Get the full episode details and transcript: https://bit.ly/2YFo00O ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Don't give up too easily because there will be many things that try to stop you. Don't put all your eggs into one basket. Diversify your income streams and opportunities. At the end of the day, we do business with people. Not computers. Make it easy for your clients to find you and work with you online, and be personable. ----- Show Notes: 2:34 - How did MALM Insurance come together? You said you work with your mother in this business? Lorena was studying business administration and finance in college and started working for her mom one summer. She really liked how she was able to help people fill out critical paperwork. It was much more than a sales job, as she had to approach it as an entrepreneur. 5:36 - How do you go about making insurance “interesting” for the clients you serve? They converted their business into a fully digital/phone service which made it way more convenient to serve their clients. She uses stories through her podcast to help people understand the value MALM provides, and to keep it interesting for people. 8:30 - What are all of the services you help people with? Health insurance to protect your pocket in case anything happens to you. Life Insurance with living benefits which helps people who have critical illness during life. It allows you to use part of your death benefit for your medical bills while you're still alive. Lorena had to deal with her father getting cancer, and saw first hand how hard that can be on a family financially. 11:11 - How has the transfer to a fully digital insurance agency worked out for you? Lorena had to retrain herself how to conduct interviews over the phone instead of in-person. They leverage email and online signature tools to make things easier. 11:42 - You're doing a lot of cool things in the insurance space with the podcast and the move to digital, and a lot of business owners are trying to figure out how to come online. Do you think your mother could figure it out on her own? Lorena says that while on average most agents in the insurance space are in their 50's or older and they may not have the same technical know-how as she does, she thinks a lot of people give up way too early. She says to stay consistent, just be patient and don't give up too easy. 15:22 - How long were you putting up content before you started seeing people come to you and started getting results from it? She doesn't really track that but she thinks at least 6 months before people will really notice. They did land a big client from LinkedIn that saw their content. There are ways to repurpose your content and share it in different ways so you don't always have to come up with new stuff. 30 views on a video may not seem like much, but in the real world that's 30 calls she didn't have to make (and probably a lot more due to the numbers game of cold-calling.) 26:36 - Perils & Pearls. What's the biggest peril you've had to overcome as a rising entrepreneur and the pearl of wisdom you gained from that experience? Back in 2008 the insurance companies were hit very hard. They were providing mortgage protection insurance and when the housing crisis happened things were tough. She says she diversifies a lot more now and works with multiple providers to make sure she has options for her clients and also isn't putting all her eggs in one basket. Your “why” is what is going to drive you through the tough times. 36:16 - What are some things as a business owner you're excited about right now? Reaching out to new people and creating new “centers of influence”. There are new products and changes in health insurance that are going to be positive and will help people get better care. She thinks this changing time is going to help a lot of people switch gears and reevaluate their lives and careers. 39:51 - With your insurance, what areas do you serve? Lorena is bilingual in Spanish and English. She serves the entire state of Florida and also in Nebraska. She is also interested in getting her license in all 50 states. www.malmins.com or malmins22 on all social media. Call or text Lorena at 786-236-1719. 47:30 - If you could go back 5-10 years ago and sit down with yourself for 2 minutes, what is one pearl of wisdom you would leave for yourself? Do more than what you think you need to do and don't underestimate how long it's going to take. Get the full episode details and transcript: www.therisingentrepreneur.com/episodes/tre-59-rebranding-for-success-in-aromatherapy-with-jason-conifer ----- 3 Main Takeaways: Having a firm understanding of your “why” is vital to running a business, and it can be a hard thing/tough process to go through to pinpoint exactly what that is. It's highly unlikely to find success with your first business venture. Keep pushing, pivoting and growing through your failures. Don't try to do it alone. Find groups, mentors, coaches and/or masterminds to help you progress through your journey. ----- Show Notes: 4:18 - Jason tells us why he switched his name from Jason Antonino to Jason Conifer He got tired of having to spell it out for the last 40 years. He loves trees. The domain was available! 7:01 - What brought you into the world of Aromatherapy? He was intrigued by the fact that you could create your own products at home. Smell is the scent most closely tied to memory, and Old Spice reminds Jason of his father. Started as a hobby, and started a beard oil company in 2016. Jason has two patents issued on his invention combining aroma therapy with sound and light. 11:37 - Nathan pushes Jason on what his real “why” is. Jason says that every day, self care starts at home. People can take better care of themselves at home and prevent small problems from becoming big problems. 15:30 - Have you had any health issues that you've been able to remedy through essential oils and/or aromatherapy? Jason fell through his ceiling once while cleaning the attic and was able to manage his injuries with coconut oil and lavender essential oil. 17:48 - What motivates you to putting all your time and effort into helping people live healthier lives? Jason became tired of corporate America and enjoys the freedom running his own business affords him. Jason believes that help shouldn't be more than a phone or a zoom call away. There is fraud happening in mainstream, and Jason wants to save and protect people from doing the wrong things. 20:38 - What inside you drives you to want to protect people like that?
