Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) is all the rage right now—with varying opinions, thoughts, and questions about what DEI encompasses, its impact, and what the future would look like without it. Ohio State Representative Josh Williams (R-Sylvania Township) joins CCV Policy Director David Mahan and Communications Director Mike Andrews on this week's episode of The Narrative to offer a unique perspective on the fight against DEI! Rep. Williams unpacks what DEI in Ohio's higher education system really looks like and how the passage of Senate Bill 1 through the Ohio House will have lasting effects on the state's education system. Before Rep. Williams joins the conversation, the guys talk about current legislation happening in the Statehouse—how the Innocence Act (HB84) and Cannabis Bill (HB160) are evolving and what these pieces of legislation would mean for Ohio residents. Listen to this week's episode to hear Rep. Williams' testimony and how the Lord is working through him to advance Christ-centered legislation into our state laws. More about Rep. Josh Williams State Representative Josh Williams went from a homeless high school dropout to an attorney, but there were many challenges and obstacles along the way. After dropping out of high school, he went to work to support his young son. He was hurt on the job after falling 30 feet and was disabled for six years because of a serious back injury. Josh credited a change in his mindset as motivation to overcome his injury. After getting his GED, Josh started college at the age of 30. By the time he was 35, he had graduated from the University of Toledo College of Law with his Juris Doctorate (J.D.). He currently teaches constitutional law, criminal law, and criminal procedure in the undergraduate criminal justice programs. As a State Representative, Josh is pursuing reform in the areas that most affect Lucas County residents: workforce development, education, and criminal justice.

LUCAS COUNTY REVALUATION TURMOILKatie Moline | Lucas County AuditorLucas County Auditor Katie Moline is currently at the centerof a property revaluation issue that has caused concern among residents. The revaluation process, which adjusts property values for tax purposes, has led to significant increases in property assessments across the county, sparking public frustration. Recently, former Lucas County Auditor Anita Lopez weighedin, expressing criticism of the handling of the situation. Lopez, who held the position before Moline, suggested that the current administration could have done more to mitigate the impact on homeowners and improve communication about the process. Her comments highlight the growing divide over how the revaluation was managed and its implications for local taxpayers.Moline has engaged the services of an independent thirdparty to conduct a review of the county's troubled property valuation processes. Ms. Moline says the precise scope of the third-party review was still being worked out and that the costs of such a review were, at this time, unknown. She added that the intention of the review is to look at “the glitch” that happened in 2024 and to determine best practices for future valuations in Lucas County. Ms. Moline reiterated that she is confident that her office has found the programming error that caused more than 1,400 properties to be incorrectly valued. The owners of those properties that were erroneously valued have now been notified. They should receive a new tax bill, and refunds are being processed for those who have already made a payment based on an inflated property value.

Once all the t's were crossed and the “i's” were dotted … he had a shorter window to secure acts, secure a stage, and make something out of it. Four mysteries on NamUs, the national database of unidentified remains and missing persons, come from the shoreline of Lake Erie. Two of the cases - a man found in 2014 by a downtown Cleveland break wall, and a woman in a disco dress who washed ashore at the Cedar Point causeway in 1980 - are currently undergoing fresh DNA testing. The other two are a man found in Lucas County in 2005, and the case of a Lorain fisherman presumed to have drowned in 1983, though his body was never found. www.ohiomysteries.com feedback@ohiomysteries.com www.patreon.com/ohiomysteries www.twitter.com/mysteriesohio www.facebook.com/ohiomysteries Audionautix- The Great UnknownThe Great Phospher- Daniel Birch Learn more about your ad choices.
