CPA and Auditor Joe Fried joins the program to lay out the election fraud from 2020 from an auditors point of view. Now that time has passed, auditors have had the time to review the public data and its not pretty for Biden. The 2020 election under any reasonable measure was illegitimate and would not have been certifiable under any reasonable auditing standards. US Army veteran Jonathan Fisher spent his military career in aviation maintenance. When he decided to retire, he also made the decision to start his next career in the IT industry. Using SkillBridge as a launching pad to land his first role with start-up company, ByteChek, Jonathan worked as an Auditor and GRC Engineer. With financial trouble looming due to economic uncertainty, Jonathan and his coworkers unfortunately lost their jobs. However, using the power of LinkedIn and relying on his network, Jonathan was hired into a new role within a week. Jonathan is no stranger to the Lessons Learned for Vets podcast. In fact, this is his third appearance. On this episode, he brings fresh perspectives on the military transition and a realization that it continues long after retirement. Jonathan started networking and connecting with people years before he retired from the military. He reached out to organizations like Veterans2Industry, Hire Our Heroes, FourBlock and Veterati and took ownership of his transition. After making the decision to dive into the IT field, Jonathan practiced the basics through CompTIA A+ and Security+ to gain a foundational knowledge of the industry. It was only after talking with mentors that he realized his military skills gave him an edge that could help him bypass an entry-level position. His previous career in aviation maintenance had given him significant experience with risk assessment, documentation management, quality assurance auditing and problem solving – skills that lined up with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) roles in IT. Accepting his first role with start-up, ByteChek, Jonathan reflects on the experiences that allowed him to grow professionally. Being the 7th hire for the company, Jonathan influenced the work culture and had the opportunity to influence future hires as a member of the interview panel. He enjoyed the diversity in his new workplace and learned how to become more inclusive. Jonathan played a pivotal role in the standardization and building of processes at the organization. When he lost his job due to company financial problems, Jonathan leaned into his network on LinkedIn. Within 6 days of posting his availability for a new position on LinkedIn, Jonathan interviewed and was hired into a new role. While at ByteChek, Jonathan continued to build his network with people in the IT industry. Keep your connections fresh on LinkedIn and start to build your network beyond the veteran community, even when you are happily employed. To end this episode, Jonathan urges servicemembers to make time for their families. Start building good relationships with family members and don't be afraid to reach out and seek professional help on how to be a better spouse and parent. After taking a more active role in the lives of his children, Jonathan has seen improvement in these relationships. Remember, the military transition is much more than finding a job, and it involves the whole family.Subscribe to our YouTube channel at https://tinyurl.com/llforvets22.You can connect with Jonathan on LinkedIn at https://www.linkedin.com/in/jonfisher11/To learn more about how to navigate the military transition with your family, click here for Season 1 , Episode 8 with Ben Killoy.SUBSCRIBE & LEAVE A FIVE-STAR REVIEW and share this to other veterans who might need help as they transition from the military!

MUSIC CREDITS: "Do You Trust Me" by Michael Vignola, licensed for broad internet media use, including video and audio See on Bastyon | Bitchute | Odysee | Rumble | Freedom.Social | SarahWestall.TV Biography of Joe Fried, CPA Joe Fried attended Case Western Reserve University on full scholarship, graduated with an MBA, and was hired as an auditor by Ernst & Young. In 1983 he formed his own firm, from which he retired in 2022. During his 43-year career, Joe performed and supervised countless audits and was an AICPA-authorized peer reviewer for dozens of other audit firms. In 2003, Joe published his first book, How Social Security Picks Your Pocket, which chronicled the waste in the program and called for a private option for participants. While researching the book, Joe discovered that thousands of teachers in Texas were participating in a shameful scam that cost the Social Security program an estimated 2 billion dollars. (They were pretending to be full-time janitors.) He notified the Social Security Inspector General who replied, “We take your concern seriously and will open an audit ....” Thirteen months later, the audit was done and the IG agreed with Joe's 64-page analysis, without exception. Before long, however, Joe learned of the power of the teachers' union and the weakness of Social Security Administrators, who refused to cut off the phony benefits. Following the 2008 financial crisis, Joe wrote a unique book called, Who Really Drove the Economy into the Ditch. Unlike other analysts, Joe described the roots of the crisis, which went back to the early days of the Clinton Administration and its push to eliminate the down payment requirement for home mortgage loans. Joe expects his new book— Debunked? — to be his most controversial and important work as it takes on the sanctity of our vote. As a young man, Joe won first place in a national music competition. He performed on his clarinet under Leopold Stokowski in Carnegie Hall, and he still performs occasionally with his wife, Nina, a pianist. He says that the transition from music to business is a long story, best told over a couple of cold beers.
When Portlanders voted to change to the city's commission form of government in November, they opted for a complex system designed to be more representative and equitable. But the city's independent auditor says in order to achieve those goals, a structure for accountability and transparency must be codified as well. Portland Auditor Simone Rede says that's what led her to propose the creation of a Transparency Advocate to the city council. After nearly three hours of testimony and discussion the five city commissioners voted to “indefinitely table” her proposal. Instead, they passed a resolution put forward by Commissioner Dan Ryan that directed the auditor's office to conduct a series of transparency inquiries -- a proposal Rede says she had not been consulted on or even been made aware of. She joins us to tell us more about the need for transparency, how her office has been working with community and civic groups to institutionalize it, and how she sees the process moving forward.

02/23/23: Gordy Smith served in the North Dakota auditor's office for 36 years, and joins Joel on "News and Views" today to have a conversation about the state auditor's office. Josh Gallion has recently accused lawmakers of being "corrupt" for making legislation he says undermines his ability to do his job. Listen to Gordy and Joel talk about the situation to hear their views. See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Minot, N.D. — A war of words between state Auditor Josh Gallion, a Republican, and members of his own party in the state legislature has made a lot of headlines of late. Gallion has accused lawmakers of being "corrupt" for allegedly targeting a member of his office for specific termination and for legislation he says undermines his ability to do his job. Lawmakers say it was actually Gallion who requested that the employee be fired, and that they're responding from complaints from local government entities, including a western North Dakota ambulance service which has now filed an ethics complaint against the auditor's office, who say that Gallion isn't doing his job right. On this episode of Plain Talk Gordy Smith, a 36-year veteran of the state auditor's office under Gallion's predecessors, weighs in on the controversy. Was it appropriate for Gallion to write an op-ed for the state's media outlets blasting lawmakers as corrupt? "Absolutely not," Smith said. "When I read the op-ed, the first two words that came to mind were 'unprofessional' and 'disrespectful,'" Smith said. As for the legislature targeting a specific employee in the auditor's office, Smith says he believes the lawmakers and not Gallion. "There's no doubt in my mind," he said, adding that he spoke to both Gallion and legislative leaders about the issue in 2017 when it happened. The Jay Thomas Show from Monday February 20th, 2022. Guests include Dean Wysocki, Ann Hafner, Tracy Dolezal, and ND Auditor Joshua Gallion on the Killdeer County Ambulance audit and your phone calls and emails.
"She's right." That's what Chris Jones, the director of North Dakota's Department of Human Services, had to say on this episode of Plain Talk about many of the complaints of one of our previous guests. Specifically Robin Nelson, the CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of the Red River Valley, who said that child care operations like her are "drowning" thanks to difficulties with hiring and red tape. "I don't disagree that they're drowning," Jones said in an interview that addressed everything from delays in the background check process to a new web portal for licensing that hasn't worked as well as it could have. Also on this episode, co-host Ben Hanson and I discuss state Auditor Josh Gallion's bomb-throwing toward the legislature, accusing them of attacking his office, and of being corrupt, after advancing a bill that would limit what his office can charge for audits and require that someone holding his office be a certified public accounting, something Gallion is not. Gallion's words are unbecoming for someone in his position, we concluded, and even counterproductive to the goal of holding state government accountable. An auditor should be level-headed and trustworthy. Gallion's audits, and the press campaigns he orchestrates around them, have become so exaggerated, so theatrical, that a reasonable observer must take them with a grain of salt.
