Le duo électro français Tambour Battant, connu pour son mélange audacieux de genres, revient avec « Welcome », un album qui explore le thème de la diversité et de la cohésion. Conçu entre 2023 et 2024 dans les studios personnels du groupe, « Welcome » est le fruit d'un minutieux travail de composition, d'arrangement, de mixage et de mastering qui façonne l'identité sonore du duo. « Welcome » se distingue par une approche décomplexée du mélange de genres, au point que la notion de styles musicaux, pour Tambour Battant, n'existe plus. Avec une production très soignée, chaque morceau témoigne de cette volonté en proposant une combinaison novatrice de multiples inspirations, de l'amapiano à l'afrobeats, en passant par la techno et le hip-hop. Pour cet album, le duo a eu la chance de pouvoir compter sur des participations qui lui tenaient particulièrement à cœur. Le titre « Cure » met en avant la voix unique de Marina P, chanteuse italienne reconnue pour sa fusion de reggae et de soul. Sur le morceau « Chamapiano », on retrouve un proche de Tambour Battant : Grems, iconique rappeur et artiste visuel, qui signe également la pochette de l'album. Dans « Arena », Sir Jean chante en anglais et en wolof, illustrant brillamment le propos de l'album. Enfin, le duo a pu compter une nouvelle fois sur Adrien Sauvaget, ami et collaborateur de longue date, pour sa contribution au mastering. Avec « Welcome », le duo dévoile son album le plus abouti, en ce qu'il incarne pleinement l'identité sonore de Tambour Battant. Sweatlodge est de retour à Rennes les 27 et 28 septembre pour un week-end spécial Fête à Toto. El estudio del microbioma, es actualmente un campo de rápido avance científico partiendo de la premisa de que una microbiota “sana” es necesaria para alcanzar un estado de salud adecuado. “Una buena microbiota es sinónimo de una buena salud” Como afirma la doctora Marina Pérez Gordo, doctora en Biología y directora del Grado de Medicina en la facultad de Medicina de la universidad CEU San Pablo, “de acuerdo a los últimos hallazgos se ha demostrado que las alteraciones del microbioma por influencias ambientales, exposición a antibióticos, infección o estrés, podrían inducir efectos a largo plazo en la fisiología y el comportamiento del individuo”. Siendo esto así, el estudio del microbioma y la microbiota permitiría profundizar en un mejor conocimiento del “órgano olvidado” que condiciona desde enfermedades metabólicas, hasta distintos tipos de cáncer o enfermedades neurodegenerativas como son la enfermedad de Alzheimer, la enfermedad de Parkinson y la esclerosis múltiple. “La microbiota intestinal puede afectar a órganos distantes como los pulmones o el cerebro”

“Cada parte del cuerpo tiene su propia microbiota con funciones propias. Otras son comunes y similares en cada una de las localizaciones de nuestro organismo” Así explica Marina Pérez Gordo, doctora en Biología y directora del Grado de Medicina en la facultad de Medicina de la universidad CEU San Pablo la importancia de que se mantenga el equilibrio dentro de ese complejo mundo de microorganismos que conviven con nosotros y que guardan una relación íntima con la expresión de no pocas enfermedades. “Desde que nacemos estamos colonizados por bacterias y otros microorganismos” “El 70% de nuestra microbiota procede de nuestra madre y según haya sido el parto, esa microbiota cambia. Cualquier desajuste condiciona un problema de salud”. “Los probióticos son las bacterias que introducimos en nuestro intestino para que formen parte de la microbiota”

Bacterias, virus, hongos y otros microorganismos que conviven en nuestro intestino son determinantes en la aparición de enfermedades como la diabetes y la obesidad e incluso también en la esperanza de vida. A ese conjunto de microorganismos que forma parte de nuestro ser, es lo que llamamos microbiota. Para profundizar en este concepto conversamos en Fórmula Salud con la doctora Marina Pérez Gordo, doctora en Biología y directora del Grado de Medicina en la facultad de Medicina de la universidad CEU San Pablo. “La microbiota de cada individuo es única, --señala la doctora Mónica Pérez-- Es como una huella dactilar microbiana y el conjunto de genes de esa microbiota, el microbioma, también es único y contribuye con más genes que el propio genoma humano, y puede influir en nuestra situación de salud y enfermedad”

Ramon Sarró and Marina P. Temudo deliver paper at 'Cultural Production in Africa's Extractive Communities' workshop. This is the fourth of five papers delivered at this workshop on 16 May 2019. ‘Cultural Production in Africa’s Extractive Communities’ is the sixth research seminar of the ERC project ‘Comparing the Copperbelt’ based at the University of Oxford. It focuses on the intersection between mining and cultural production in Central, Western and Southern Africa. Mining was one of the most important engines of transformation in Africa’s recent social and economic history. Industrial-scale mining – of gold, copper, tin, coal, oil, and diamonds – generated new towns and hurled people together from myriad cultural, linguistic and regional backgrounds. Thus, mining regions have also proved to be important venues of new forms of cultural production. Examples include DRCongo’s popular painting, Zambia’s psychedelic rock revolution in the 1970s, or Sotho migrant workers’ lifela song-poem genre. While certain forms of popular art have been the object of detailed study, e.g. in J.C. Mitchell’s 1956 ethnography of the Kalela dance, many of these studies have tended to be narrow in geographical focus. This seminar will attempt a more global view and will look at a variety of cultural forms across a variety of regions and time periods. It will integrate analysis of cultural production into regional histories that have more commonly been characterised in structural and material terms, exploring the ways in which processes of cultural, political and economic change found expression in everyday life. Questions to be addressed include: in what ways did new forms of popular art integrate various cultural influences to address social issues specific to the mining context? How does the 21st century mining context, defined by plurality and competing global companies, impact cultural production? How do cultural forms produced in such contexts relate to and compare with those produced in other areas of the country? What can popular art tell us about the lived experiences of the societies that produced it?

Quello sudamericano e quello africano. Nata a Roma, da madre argentina e padre Rwandese, l’artista forgia il suo senso del ritmo e la sua voce sugli ascolti fondamentali dei vinili di Stevie Wonder, Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles, Compay Segundo, Skatalites e Bob Marley. A 22 anni decide di mettersi alla prova registrando alcune cover riadattate in chiave reggae. Queste prime registrazioni inedite rappresentano il punto di partenza per entrare in punta di piedi nella scena musicale di riferimento. "Spread Love", "Mr.Babylon","Get Out" (incisa sul celebre strumentale Seven Riddim del noto beatmaker Macro Marco) e "Reggae music flow" segnano invece il suo esordio ufficiale. I brani vengono presentati su Youtube e raccolgono un immediato successo in termini di ricezione del pubblico. Da questo momento in poi la sua carriera è in continua ascesa, sono anni intensi di live e collaborazioni. Il 2016 si apre con numerose apparizioni live, (come quella che la vede accanto all’artista italo-francese Marina P) e con la partecipazione alla compilation targata DotVibes e NIAM dal titolo “Stronger Than Ever”. La canzone “Forward” è realizzata assieme ad uno dei nomi più in vista del reggae italiano al femminile: Mama Marjas, regina indiscussa di questo genere nel nostro paese. Il brano “Live ad smile” impreziosisce invece l’album dei debutto della giovane e italianissima interprete Sista Awa.
