The desire to write and record songs that you can also pull off LIVE had always been a part of the musical vision. So, rather than getting too carried away in the studio (as most do), Garrisi snatched up a group of four diverse and seasoned musicians that Garrisi knew from BBQ jam sessions at his L.A. home studio. L.A. jazz/rock drummer Sean Rosen took on the role of percussionist, Australian native Phil Horvath jumped on keys, bass and guitar, Anthony Leone (Garrisi's cousin) took place on guitar and bass and multi-instrumentalist and New York native Andy Swan added his textures. One major requirement was that all members must know how to sing and sing well. Due to the vocal talent of every member of Scores, harmonies are plentiful, grabbing influences from The Beach Boys, Tom Petty & The Heartbreakers, The Traveling Wilburys and Wilco. The Scores sound brings a variety although firmly rooted in the Los Angeles Laurel Canyon sound as well as classic rock and alt-country similar to fellow acoustic rockers Band of Horses.”

Horror punk is a pretty small niche in an otherwise broad genre of music. You can probably count the bands known for the particular style on both hands. You have The Misfits, The Damned, TSOL, The Cramps, The Undead, and a few others. In the Christian music scene, there are even less horror punk bands. I know what you're thinking. "Christian horror punk? Isn't that an oxymoron?" Not really, if you think about it. What better medium is there to tackle subjects such as death, the afterlife, and spiritual warfare against the powers of darkness and evil? Honestly, it makes perfect sense to me. Cast the Dragon joins a small group of believers who choose to delve into the world of horror punk. While they don't take on personas like their contemporaries Grave Robber or the late great Blaster the Rocketman and The Deadlines, their blend of frenetic punk, spooky keyboards, and crooning vocals are perfectly at home next to those bands. Joshua Lory is the mastermind behind Cast the Dragon. Having played bass for the legendary goth / rock outfit LS Underground, Michael Knott, and dozens of others California punk bands throughout the 1990s and 2000s, Lory decided it was time to do things his own way musically. Although he handles the main duties of vocalist, guitarist, and bass, he has assembled a backup band who I struggle to even refer to as such. Veteran drummer Jim Chaffin (The Crucified, The Blamed) and keyboardist Skot Shaw (Leper) round out the lineup on the debut album "Annihilate the Adversary." I had the opportunity to chat with Joshua about horror punk, religion, superheroes, the new album, and a bunch of other stuff... like movies and TV. We tend to ramble around a bit. If you are a regular, then you know that's how we roll around here. Jump into this interview and get to know the man behind your new favorite punk band, Cast the Dragon. You can get more info on the band at https://www.facebook.com/castthedragon.

It was the type of introduction that finance executives will invest decades of thoughtful career-building to receive. After dwelling nearly 20 years inside the capital markets and investment research corridors that scrutinize and energize the activities of publicly held real estate companies, Michael Knott was perhaps better prepared than most to receive an introduction to the search executive or team of search executives that had begun extensive outreach. Certainly, Knott’s robust professional network was rich with introductions to different executive searches, but unlike others, this was a CFO search and therefore more worthy of his attention. For many of the ambitious professionals Knott had worked alongside over the years, CFO search had long been a preferred doorway to the C-suite, a familiar path for opening a new leadership career chapter. Meanwhile, it was no secret that the search team was working on behalf of The Blackstone Group–the largest owner of commercial real estate in the world. Twelve months after accepting the sought-after CFO role at EQ Office–a Blackstone portfolio company–Knott routinely emphasizes that no matter how impressive an executive’s resume may be, it’s their network that often makes the difference. Rewind Recap Finale hi-lights 12 guests on the show performing live renditions of songs they recorded in the ‘80s and ‘90s Christian music scene. It is difficult to choose material from 79 episodes and over 40 artists in a 1-hour recap episode, but here is the line-up: Michael Knott, Freedom of Soul, Deliverance, Jon Gibson, Bloodgood, Altar Boys, Recon, EDL, 12th Tribe, SFC, Preachas In Disguise and Lanny Cordola. Original host, Brian Healy (founder of Dead Artist Syndrome), proposed the show to Adel Meisenheimer (whose company owns and manages Frontline Records catalog and others) and deemed her “Executive Producerâ€. His radio voice and DJ experience created a fun, some-what professional, experience as he presented playlists introducing or reminding listeners about music of artists in mixed genres. Due to health issues, Healy could not continue. But in Episode 32, Les Carlsen (lead singer of Bloodgood) was a guest host and then agreed to full-time, launching his “reality TV†style, getting together with artists in an interview/music format. Friendships were made and bonds created between Rewind crew and artists. Listeners were treated to stories from musical and spiritual journeys, live performances, commentary for musical works and updates on current activity from the Frontline family. It is bittersweet to announce the Finale of Frontline Records Rewind and our hope is that many benefited. Episodes can be enjoyed for generations on FrontlineRecords, YouTube and iTunes. Thanks for your support! Scotty… call the limo. We’re outta here!
