Tank Slappers is back for the 2025 Season! Taking over the reins is Dre Harrison, alongside Autosport's Chief Motorsport Writer Ben Hunt, and Motorsport.com MotoGP reporter Oriol Puigdemont. The trio sit down to review the opening round of the 2025 MotoGP season in Buriram, Thailand at the Chang International Circuit. It was a dream debut for Marc Marquez in the Ducati red, dominating the proceedings to finishing in a 1-2 in both the Sprint and Grand Prix with his brother Alex. How impressive was Marc's performance? How concerned should Francesco Bagnaia be after only managing a pair of third places? There's also the fact that Marquez had to concede an early second-and-a-half advantage to comply with MotoGP's tyre regulation rule. A necessary evil, or bad for the show? There's also a discussion on Ai Ogura and the best debut performance in the sport since 2013 after finishing 5th in his first race with Trackhouse, the latest on Jorge Martin's broken hands, and asking if Honda and Yamaha are finally closing the gap to Ducati and Aprilia.

E altri avversari si profilano all'orizzonte.

It feels good to be back! The first race of a brand new season is in the pocket and it promises to be a very interesting season, indeed. We've got the Márquez brothers, both on Ducati's and both in front. Maybe not a surprise if you're Marc, but definitely a promising feat if you're Alex. Have we been underestimating the younger Márquez? And then there's Ai Ogura, the rookie who takes our breath away, and Jack Miller taking his brain out and showing that the right rider really can make the machine. Lot's to talk about, so why not press play and we'll get started! Oh, and before we forget...happy birthday to Mat! Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon.
Ready for racing? So is everyone, but there's one more test we need to talk about first – and it's an event that shows some very interesting changes... Welcome to Buriram, Thailand. It's the last chance to get everything in order before the big circus starts. If you're a competitor, this is the moment you most want your tech to be not just cutting edge, but also on the exact right side of familiar so you can be in complete control of it. Unless you're Ducati, and you just decide to go back to last year's engine. Say what?Yes, it might sound weird, but Mat and Peter believe it's not that outlandish. In fact, they've seen things like this before and have a pretty good idea what might be causing it. The answer involves things like engine breaking and crankshaft inertia, and if you know what those things mean you're going to love this. And if you don't know, we'll just explain it so you do – and then just see the previous sentence. We've also got some interesting insights into why the Yamaha handles not completely unlike a rally car and get ready to meet the new Aprilla, which looks to be very friendly. Oh, and Peter admits he might have underestimated a rider...but also tells us who he thinks needs a stern talking to! Watch out!Want more? Visit our website or support us on Patreon.

The Bangkok Podcast | Conversations on Life in Thailand's Buzzing Capital
Ed interviews our buddy Phil Allen about his adventures visiting, and eventually living in, the Isaan region of Thailand. Phil begins by explaining his arrival in Bangkok about five years ago as a roving economist working primarily in financial technology. Unfortunately, the pandemic struck and Phil found himself in a very strange situation in a brand new country. He decided to take the aggressive approach and move from AirBnB to AirBnB in different neighborhoods around Bangkok before a full lockdown ensued. Phil's story continues with his interest in motorbikes. Due to Bangkok traffic, he thought it would be safer to learn to ride in a small town, so randomly he and a friend began to visit Buriram, a town northeast of Bangkok and not too far from the Cambodia border. Thus, Phil's love affair with Isaan began, eventually leading him to Udon Thani, where he currently rents a house while traveling back to Bangkok a few days a week for work. So what is it about Isaan that is so attractive? Phil discusses many things he likes about the region, from delicious, cheap food to truly engaging people. Ed and Phil talk about the pros and cons of Bangkok vs Udon, and Phil makes an excellent case for putting Isaan on your travel calendar, whether you are a tourist or an expat. You can connect with Phil on Instagram at newphysiocracy. Don't forget that Patrons get the ad-free version of the show as well as swag and other perks. We also sometimes post on Facebook, you can contact us on LINE and of course, head to our website (www.bangkokpodcast.com) to find out probably more info than you need to know.

If you have a cat, you'll know that felines hate wet surprises. But you know who hates it even more? Everybody on- and around a MotoGP bike - especially when we're at the decisive tail end of the tournament. Every normal talent becomes secondary to that weird six sense required to drive a bike across a slippery, watery track. So we end up with a race that gives us little to say the outcome of this year's tournament, but plenty of spectacle and some truly spectacular improvisation and cool. We're looking at you, Peco, and your very cool thinking when chased by the devil Marquez himself. So, plenty to talk about and only one episode to do it…let's go! Want more?

Apologies for those who have waited patiently, the bikes are back on Motorsport101. Sincerely, sorry for having to wait so long, Cam's not been in the best of knick health-wise lately and we wanted to wait and do it justice by waiting until he was well enough to come back. So here we are! In this episode, we catch up by reviewing both the Philip Island and Buriram MotoGP rounds. In Philip Island, we had weather-related chaos as the threat of heavy winds led to a Saturday Grand Prix for the first time in eight years, and a cancelled Sprint as the sport tried to beat an oncoming storm. We break down Johann Zarco finally getting his first premier-class win in his 120th attempt. 20 podiums, 91 laps led in his career and finally, he led the one that mattered most, just before his window for it likely will slam shut. And Cam asks an important question on the strategy call of Jorge Martin: "Why are you the way that you are?" We break down the thin line between genius and crazy. We also talk about an ongoing health issue the sport seems determined to ignore, the revelation that Moto3 rider Diogo Moreira was allowed to race mere minutes after a crash the team would later admit, knocked him out. Can the sport afford to continue not have a concussion policy? And finally, we talk about Buriram as Jorge Martin redeemed himself with another double win. Still, he had Brad Binder as a constant pest (How has he gone over 2 years since his last win?!), and Francesco Bagnaia's gap thinning to just 13 points after trying and failing the pass of the century! All that and more on another Motorsport101!
