There was a Pet Sematary prequel that came out late last year! A prequel to the Pet Sematary (2019) remake, to be precise, which was a remake of the 1989 film based on the 1983 Stephen King book. So Bloodlines is a prequel of a remake of an adaptation that went straight to Paramount Plus. We covered the Pet Sematary remake way back in Episode 43 of the Lodgecast. Bloodlines scored a woeful 22% on Rotten Tomatoes, which sealed our fate that we had to cover it. This movie is set in 1969 and stars Jackson White as a young Jud Crandall who discovers the secrets of the cemetery. This movie stars some other heavy hitters, including Henry Thomas, David Duchovny, Samantha Mathis, and Pam Grier. The cast is rounded out by Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Natalie Alyn Lind, and Isabella Star LaBlanc. While "sometimes dead is better," we're not ruling out future installments of the Pet Sematary franchise!

Pet Sematary: Bloodlines is a 2023 American supernatural horror film directed by Lindsey Anderson Beer (in her directorial debut), and co-written by Beer and Jeff Buhler. Serving as a prequel to Pet Sematary (2019), which in turn was based on the 1983 novel of the same name by Stephen King, the film stars Jackson White, Forrest Goodluck, Jack Mulhern, Henry Thomas, Natalie Alyn Lind, Isabella Star LaBlanc, Samantha Mathis, Pam Grier and David Duchovny. Set in 1969, 50 years before the events of the previous film, the plot follows a young Jud Crandall as he discovers a local cemetery where the dead can live again, without imagining the horror that will affect his life. After the commercial success of Pet Sematary in 2019, producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura had plans for a prequel explaining the mythology and universe of the film. The Total Tutor Neil Haley will interview Natalie Alyn Lind. She will discuss her experience on ABC's The Goldbergs, as well as her experience of being homeschooled.  Natalie Alyn Lind, the oldest of the Lind sisters, grew up surrounded by the entertainment industry. Her mother is an actress who starred on the hit drama One Tree Hill,  and her father is a producer. Being on set with her mother became second nature to Natalie, and it was no surprise that at a very young age, she booked her first guest role on the drama alongside her mom. While she was growing up, Natalie spent a lot of time traveling back and forth between North Carolina and California, but the young aspiring actress didn't mind. She knew being an actor just like her mom was something she was meant to do. After Natalie booked the guest role on WB's One Tree Hill, she continued on and was booked for a recurring role on the series Lifetime's Army Wives and she landed roles on Nickelodeon's iCarly,  Disney's Wizards of Waverly Place and ABC's The Goldbergs. Natalie also appears on the hit ABC comedy as ‘Dana Caldwell,' currently in its second season.  Her favorite role by far was working on CBS's Criminal Minds because she has always had a passion for all things horror and suspense. Natalie has many upcoming projects in the works, including a not yet released Universal horror film, Mockingbird.
