Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi, Thrasher, BJ, and special guest Nathan P. Butler (author of A Saga on Home Video: A Fan's Guide to U.S. Star Wars Home Video Releases) discuss Star Wars Episode III Revenge of the Sith. A man kills children because he doesn't want his wife to die. Writer-director George Lucas had a lot of heavy lifting to do in this conclusion to the Star Wars Prequel Trilogy, and it shows. A bloated, if humorous, opening adventure is the spoonful of sugar the audience craves before going into a depressing story. Not everything works here, but thematically there's deeper and richer things going on than in the prior two prequels. Ewan McGregor and Ian McDiarmid once again nail the landing in what could have been thankless roles. A polish by famed British playwright Tom Stoppard makes a notable difference to the gravity of the situation at hand. An end of an era to be sure. Aside from producing his pet project World War II drama Red Tails and animated fairy musical Strange Music, Star Wars maestro George Lucas would basically retire from filmmaking after selling Lucasfilm to Disney in 2012. Hosts Mat Bradley-Tschirgi and William Thrasher discuss the live-action sequel Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed from 2004. This show starts with Mat interviewing author Nathan P. Butler, author of A Saga on Home Video: A Fan's Guide to U.S. Star Wars Home Video Releases. They discuss the book, how different video releases have a variety of exclusive bonus content, and their excitement for the upcoming Star Wars Battlefront 2 video game on the PlayStation 4. In Scooby-Doo 2: Monsters Unleashed, the 1990s teen heartthrobs come back with the addition Seth Green. After going to a museum exhibit featuring the costumes of their foes from their past adventures, something causes the titular monsters to become unleashed. Who is responsible and why? Mat kind of likes the muddled bad-guy centric Suicide Squad, Warner Bros' third entry in their currentt attempt to build a DC Comics Film Universe. Thrasher enjoys Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Republic Forces Radio Network -- A Star Wars Clone Wars Podcast
On this week the Gungan Army is preparing to march on Theed! And from the sound of it they don't just plan to set up camp in the financial district... And surprise surprise the Seperatists are behind it all! Tune it to hear Jen, Dan and the season 4 debuts of Jerry and Nathan P Butler as they discuss this weeks exciting episode! We also have listener voicemails and a preview of next weeks episode of Droids... er the Clone Wars!
Nathan P. Butler (a professional educator with eight years of teaching experience) is today's featured guest. Topics: Practical verses theoretical matters in the classroom based on his years of experience as a teacher in public schools. Also: anecdotes from the early days of Internet radio, as well as some behind the scenes stuff from StarWarsFanworks and ChronoRadio. Hosted by Stephen Euin Cobb, this is the May 11, 2011 episode of The Future And You. [Running time: 37 minutes]. Nathan P. Butler holds a 'Masters in Education with a Specialization in Integrating Technology in the Classroom.' He is also a groundbreaking podcaster, having been a podcaster years before podcasting had a name or a standardized means of distribution. He is also a mover and shaker in Star Wars Fandom through his work in with ChronoRadio and StarWarsFanworks, and for having written an exhaustive thousand-page-long chronology of the Star Wars universe which is titled 'Star Wars Timeline Gold.' Special Announcement: The 200th episode of The Future And You is only two weeks away. To commemorate this milestone I (your host) am asking every listener who will, to sit down and email me something I can read into the 200th episode. You can also email to me (as an attachment) an audio file. This will be less work for me since I can just drop it into the show, and it will let everyone hear you speaking in your own voice. If you do send an audio file as an attachment, please keep it short--no more than two minutes. Please send me: your prediction of what is to come in the future; or a trend you have observed which you think others have missed; or your assessment of what is good or bad about this show; or your notion of who was the best interview I've ever recorded and why. Or send me something I wouldn't even think to ask for, but you are certain everyone would like to know. Send it soon, because I start production of each episode several days before it goes public. If you send it later than May 20, 2011 it might not be included. Send all these emails to: me@stevecobb.com
In 2004 Decipher Trading Cards launched the WARS Card Game, a game based on their previous Star Wars TCG. With a background story written in part by Michael Stackpole and John Howe, WARS was immediately embraced by gamers, yet not successful enough to continue making card sets beyond 2005. However the story behind the WARS universe continues now with this first Novella, Healers and Hunters by Nathan P. Butler. As most people have likely never heard of WARS, is it a worthy read? Listen as Arnie fills in the uninitiated on the WARS universe and reviews this book.

Nathan P. Butler (a professional educator with eight years of teaching experience) is today's featured guest. Topics: Why teachers are encouraged to give kids about five hours of homework everyday. Ways in which kids are different today thanks to the technologies they've grown up with, and how those same technologies are changing the teaching methods used in the classroom. Ways in which atheism is encouraged in children by public schools since teaching it openly is not allowed. The balancing act of just how much religion must be avoided when teaching human history.
