The start of a New Year is always a good time to set yourself goals, both personally and professionally that support your growth and fulfillment. How do you define growth and fulfillment? In this episode, Kerryn Powell, The Network Catalyst speaks with Sara Shams, instagram account holder of No Legs_ no worries.Kerryn meet Sara in 2018, through the START foundation, who empower amputees in life through sport, by providing grants to purchase sports prosthesis or adaptive equipment, to help them achieve their sporting dreams. At that point Sara had set her goal to participate in the Bridge 2 Brisbane fun run.Sara says "There is a perception that having a disability, being an amputee, is essentially a negative thing, a constant challenge to accept and overcome. However, even though being born without legs has its challenges, but it isn't necessarily something I have had to overcome. Yes, it may be a little harder to reach certain goals (such as the B2B fun run!) but we achieve these goals in spite of our disabilities, not because of it."Sara started her instagram page as almost a documentation of her journey - in hopes that it will help even just one person experiencing a similar situation. In January, she clocked 10k followers.Kerryn and Sara will prompt your thinking on what personal growth and fulfillment mean to you as you gain insight to Sara's plan for the coming year.Connect with Sara: https://www.instagram.com/nolegs_noworriesConnect with Kerryn: https://www.kerryn-powell.com.au

Kerryn Powell, The Network Catalyst enjoys conversation. She knows through conversations you can amplify your message, inspire others, expand your thinking, share knowledge and experience.Conversations are the way to open doors and opportunities. Conversations build relationships. Here Kerryn speaks with Janine Garner, author of Be Brilliant: How to Lead a Life of Influence (her third book, following the bestselling It's Who You Know.)Be Brilliant explores why we are so exhausted with, well, just being so exhausted! We are sure you can relate, especially given recent world events. What Kerryn loves most about Janine's work is that she is not afraid to throw rocks at arguments and approaches we've been told before. For example, while she no doubt respects Simon Sinek's work around the importance of WHY, she explores how this has made us even more anxious than ever before. Her solution is to first focus on WHO we are, who we want to become, and who we surround ourselves with. She challenges us that we are already perfectly imperfect and brilliant, and she does that by walking us through her 4 laws of brilliance.Originally, Kerryn met Janine networking, and firmly agrees with the power of connections and that is why she was not afraid to stick her hand up and cheer on this book and Janine's work. Being part of this project and Janine's network demonstrates that there is always a way... when you have a supportive network, and anything is possible.Kerryn and Janine live and breathe connection and want to help make a difference.Enjoy the conversation and as Janine writes "Be Brilliant"More details and to purchase the book visit- bebrilliantbook.comTo contact Kerryn Powell, for more conversations to inspire you- visit kerryn-powell.com.auBe Brilliant explores why we are so exhausted with, well, just being so exhausted!
