It's Time for Us to Get to Work • Friday Service To support this ministry: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Website: www.PastorTodd.org App: www.ToddCoconato.com/app We are living in a unique and critical time. The world is changing rapidly, and as believers, we recognize that the Lord has given us a window of opportunity—a time of grace to be about His business. Now, more than ever, it's time for us to get to work. Our main focus going forward will be about winning souls, setting people free, and bringing healing in Jesus' name. We must be diligent and intentional because time is short, and the harvest is plentiful. Let's dive into what the Word of God says about being diligent in the Lord's work and why now is the time to take action. 1. Ephesians 5:15-16 (NKJV) “See then that you walk circumspectly, not as fools but as wise, redeeming the time, because the days are evil.” 2. Matthew 28:18-20 (NKJV) “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.' Amen.” 3. John 9:4 (NKJV) “I must work the works of Him who sent Me while it is day; the night is coming when no one can work.” 4. 2 Timothy 4:2 (NKJV) “Preach the word! Be ready in season and out of season. Convince, rebuke, exhort, with all longsuffering and teaching.” 5. 1 Corinthians 15:58 (NKJV) “Therefore, my beloved brethren, be steadfast, immovable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, knowing that your labor is not in vain in the Lord.” 6. Proverbs 11:30 (NKJV) “The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.” 7. 2 Peter 3:9 (NKJV) “The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is longsuffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” 8. Luke 10:2 (NKJV) “Then He said to them, ‘The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest.'” 9. Romans 13:11 (NKJV) “And do this, knowing the time, that now it is high time to awake out of sleep; for now our salvation is nearer than when we first believed.” 10. James 1:22 (NKJV) “But be doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving yourselves.”

The Seven Sons of Sceva • Sunday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To Give: www.ToddCoconato.com/give   The story of the seven sons of Sceva is a powerful reminder of the authority we have in Christ and the importance of having a genuine relationship with Him. This account, found in Acts 19, offers believers several lessons about spiritual authority, the dangers of imitation without faith, and the power that resides in the name of Jesus when used properly. The Story: Acts 19:11-20 (NKJV) Acts 19:11-12 (NKJV) “Now God worked unusual miracles by the hands of Paul, so that even handkerchiefs or aprons were brought from his body to the sick, and the diseases left them, and the evil spirits went out of them.” Commentary: Paul's ministry in Ephesus was marked by extraordinary miracles, as God moved mightily through him. The emphasis here is that these miracles were God's work through Paul—an important distinction. It's a reminder that miraculous works flow from God's authority, not human effort. It's also a testament to the power of God's Spirit working through a yielded vessel.* Acts 19:13 (NKJV) “Then some of the itinerant Jewish exorcists took it upon themselves to call the name of the Lord Jesus over those who had evil spirits, saying, ‘We exorcise you by the Jesus whom Paul preaches.'” Commentary: These Jewish exorcists, including the seven sons of Sceva, saw the power displayed through Paul's ministry and thought they could imitate it without truly knowing Jesus. They used Jesus' name like a magic formula, unaware that spiritual authority cannot be borrowed or mimicked. This serves as a warning against using the name of Jesus superficially or without a true connection to Him.* Acts 19:14-16 (NKJV) “Also there were seven sons of Sceva, a Jewish chief priest, who did so. And the evil spirit answered and said, ‘Jesus I know, and Paul I know; but who are you?' Then the man in whom the evil spirit was leaped on them, overpowered them, and prevailed against them, so that they fled out of that house naked and wounded.” The evil spirit recognized the authority of Jesus and the legitimacy of Paul's ministry, but the sons of Sceva had no real relationship with Christ. As a result, they were overpowered by the very force they sought to command. This demonstrates that the spiritual realm recognizes true authority, and without a genuine relationship with Christ, we lack the power to stand against evil. It also highlights the danger of engaging in spiritual matters without being properly equipped or covered by the blood of Jesus.* What Can We Learn as Believers? 1. Authority Comes From Christ Matthew 28:18 (NKJV) “And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, ‘All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth.'” 2. A Genuine Relationship with Christ is Essential John 15:5 (NKJV) “I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing.” 3. Demons Recognize True Authority James 2:19 (NKJV) “You believe that there is one God. You do well. Even the demons believe—and tremble!” 4. Imitation Without Relationship Leads to Defeat Ephesians 6:10-11 (NKJV) “Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.” 5. Spiritual Authority Requires Submission to God James 4:7 (NKJV) “Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you.” 6. True Power is Found in the Name of Jesus Philippians 2:9-10 (NKJV) “Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth.” 7. Fear of the Lord and Revival Follow True Power Acts 19:17-18 (NKJV) “This became known both to all Jews and Greeks dwelling in Ephesus; and fear fell on them all, and the name of the Lord Jesus was magnified. And many who had believed came confessing and telling their deeds.” 8. God's Power Cannot be Manipulated Acts 8:18-20 (NKJV) “And when Simon saw that through the laying on of the apostles' hands the Holy Spirit was given, he offered them money, saying, ‘Give me this power also, that anyone on whom I lay hands may receive the Holy Spirit.' But Peter said to him, ‘Your money perish with you, because you thought that the gift of God could be purchased with money!'”   The story of the seven sons of Sceva teaches us that spiritual authority comes from a genuine relationship with Jesus, not from imitation or superficial use of His name. As believers, we must be rooted in Christ, submitted to His authority, and clothed in the armor of God to stand against the enemy. We cannot wield spiritual power without true faith and alignment with God's will. The authority we carry in Christ is real and powerful, but it is only effective when we operate within the bounds of our relationship with Him and in submission to His Spirit.

Good Friday: God is Still Good • Friday Service Website: www.PastorTodd.org To Give: www.ToddCoconato.com/give Good Friday is a day that is etched in the absolute, you know, one of the foundational elements of our Christian faith and it's a day with deep sorrow, yet profound hope, because it commemorates the crucifixion of our Lord and Savior, the eternal sacrificial lamb, Jesus Christ. It's a day that appeared to mark a victory of darknes, and I want to I want to point this out, because right now we're in a very dark time in our nation and in our world. It's a very dark time, but remember, there was another dark time, far more dark than today and that was when Jesus Christ himself, fully God and fully man, was crucified on the cross. Isaiah 53:5 (NKJV) - "But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed." Mark 15:37-39 (NKJV) - "And Jesus cried out with a loud voice, and breathed His last. Then the veil of the temple was torn in two from top to bottom. So when the centurion, who stood opposite Him, saw that He cried out like this and breathed His last, he said, “Truly this Man was the Son of God!” 1 Corinthians 15:55-57 (NKJV) - “O Death, where is your sting? O Hades, where is your victory?” The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law. But thanks be to God, who gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ." John 19:30 (NKJV) - "So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished!” And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit." Romans 5:8 (NKJV) - "But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us." Joel 2:28-32 (NKJV) - “And it shall come to pass afterward That I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh; Your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, Your old men shall dream dreams,Your young men shall see visions. And also on My menservants and on My maidservants I will pour out My Spirit in those days. “And I will show wonders in the heavens and in the earth: Blood and fire and pillars of smoke. The sun shall be turned into darkness, And the moon into blood, Before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass That whoever calls on the name of the Lord Shall be saved. For in Mount Zion and in Jerusalem there shall be deliverance, as the Lord has said, Among the remnant whom the Lord calls."

Joshua BoydJohn 8:32 (KJV) - And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free. Two weeks ago we did a message on the enemy focusing on his greatest tactic:  deception.  When Satan speaks, he lies.  There is no truth in him even when he tries to make what he says sound like truth.  He cannot be trusted for a millisecond.  Yet, according to Jesus, more and more people will be deceived as time gets closer to the end.  Matthew 24:4-5 NKJV“And Jesus answered and said to them: “Take heed that no one deceives you. For many will come in My name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,' and will deceive many.”Satan wants to trap or snare people just like a hunter would trap an animal.  How does a trap work?  By not looking like a trap.  For an animal a trap could either be hidden or include something enticing for the animal – like food.  The entire purpose is to make the animal think everything is normal and that there is something there for them.  Then WHAM!  I Peter 5:8 NKJV”Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.“The devil is a trap setter.  He's going around looking for someone who will fall for his deception.  The bait is ready, the trigger mechanism setup.  He needs someone to walk into it and take the bait.  Think about a movie where the bad guys lure someone into doing something bad when they thought they were doing something good.  There is disguise, trickery and lies – all to get the target to do one thing wrong.  That's exactly the devil.  He wants you to do one thing wrong to get you off the path, to get you out of trusting God, to get you to stop believing.  That just opens the door for him and once we've opened the door, he has a right to come in.

Most people want to be healed, but they don't want to take the time to hear anything and unfortunately, most of those people seldom get anything from God. So if you haven't gotten a miracle of healing and you want to be healed, according to Jesus' own life and ministry; time for some hearing! Matthew 4:23 (NKJV) And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Notice Jesus emphasized teaching and preaching before healing.

Exactly What Do I Believe

Exactly What do I Believe2/16/22 “Imitate God like little children” really got me thinking, just exactly how much of who God is and what He does are we supposed to imitate? A key point to this truth is, like little children Mark 10:15,NKJV- Assuredly, I say to you, whoever does not receive the kingdom of God as a little child will by no means enter it. The question is, just exactly what do we believe? Did He really mean that we're to actually imitate the things He did? Not only does the Holy Spirit through the apostle Paul tells us to imitate God, Paul says it this way in Corinthians, imitate me as I imitates Christ. Jesus told us, “If you've seen me you've seen the Father.” “I came from Heaven to do the will of the Father who sent me.” Matthew 28:18-20,MSG- Jesus told His disciples: God authorized and commanded me to commission you:Go out and train everyone you meet, in this way of life, marking them by baptism in the threefold name: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. Then instruct them in the practice of all I have commanded you. I'll be with you as you do this, day after day after day, right up to the end of the age. After accepting the truth about Jesus, possibly the next biggest thing we've got to get settled is, do we believe the Bible to be the word of God to us today? This is why we can't over emphasize the power of believing. That means, even if we don't understand truth yet, believing the Bible is God's word is an absolute. At the end of the day, believing comes down to a decision. And it starts with understand that the Bible is a spiritual book. By design, when God's created makes room for His word, it's God's word that produces faith when we yield to it. And simply put, faith is what we believe. So, to what extent are we allowing the Bible to shape our beliefs? God's word is incorruptible seed. And everything about God's Kingdom is like sowing seed. Luke even says that God's word is the seed sown. Psalm 119 says , Forever, O Lord, Your word is settled in heaven. Your word is a lamp to my feet And a light to my path. Isaiah 55:11,AMP- So will My word be which goes out of My mouth; It will not return to Me void, useless, without result, without accomplishing what I desire, And without succeeding in the matter for which I sent it. 2 Timothy 3:16-17,NKJV- All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. 2 Corinthians 1:20,NKJV- For all the promises of God in Him are Yes, and in Him Amen, to the glory of God through us. If God is expecting us to imitate Him, to follow Jesus' example, to do the things He did, then where are all the healings today? Seriously, if Jesus told us to follow Him, to do what He did and said, if His word is forever settled, if His word enlightens our path, if we're honestly suppose to imitate Him. Then what happened to the healings? Could our believing have anything to do with it? What about unbelief? In Jesus' own home town He could do no mighty works because of their unbelief. Mark 6:6, And He marveled because of their unbelief. Then He went about the villages in a circuit, teaching. Teaching the word is the remedy for unbelief. Remember, faith come from the word. Not only is our minds renewed when subjected to God's word, His word is also the spiritual force that develops faith in a believer. And faith without a corresponding action is useless. Colossians 2:6,NKJV- As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him,The AMP goes on to say, walk in union with Him, reflecting His character in the things you do and say. Therefore we walk by faith, not by sight. Here's the deal, there's only one way to receive Christ, and that's by grace through faith. So by grace, through faith we are expected to live our new lives in Him. So back to the reason for our titled, exactly what do I believe? Can a persons faith have anything to do with God's healing power? Can a persons faith have anything to do with God's saving power? For some reason we've concluded that these two spiritual realities are different. For example, we pray for healing, but symptoms still exist, so we assume it to be different than salvation. But let's not kid ourselves, if we went by that philosophy, there's no way you could be sure you're saved. There's days we don't feel saved, and no doubt days we don't look or act saved. Does what we believe line up with God's word? By design our believing has everything to do with the realities of our new world? That also means unbelief has major influence into our new lives in Christ. Remember, Jesus in His home town couldn't do any mighty works because of unbelief. In Matthew 9, Jesus asked the blind men, “do you believe I'm able to do this?” Then He told them, “according to your faith let it be done to you.” Here's the thing, these guys weren't even born again. And because of that they had to get to Jesus. But now, because He has come to us, given us His Spirit, given us new lives, He actually lives in us, allowed His body to be beaten beyond recognition. Just maybe He's asking us the same thing He asked the blind guys, “Do you believe I'm able to do this?” Remember, Jesus doesn't change. We're told to imitate Him, called to follow Him, and every where He went, He healed, how are we suppose to interpret that? Let's take it a step further, according to Romans, if we have to believe and confess to be saved, just maybe believing and confessing has something to do with healing? I cannot over emphasize the importance of SPEAKING GOD'S WORD into our situation. Even though God designed us to live a certain way, until we make a conscious evert to stop resorting to our human reasoning to determine the realities of His word, our faith will remain undeveloped. This is why Isaiah was asking if anyone was going to believe any of this stuff. When we study the life of Jesus, why do you think He healed everywhere He went? John 6:38,NKJV- For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. Keep in mind, Jesus told us, “I am the way and the truth.” And if you've seen Me you've seen the Father. A thorough study of His life in the New Testament will reveal that He healed 100% of the people that came to Him for healing. Matthew 4:23,NKJV- And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Keep in mind, we're called to follow Him, imitate Him, do the things He told us to do. So, just exactly what do we believe? Matthew 10, Jesus gave His first disciples authority to heal all sickness. Then He sent them out, and in verse 8, He tells them, “heal the sick.” Luke 10, Jesus appoints 70 more disciples and sends them out and tells them, “heal the sick.” Think about this, Mark's version of the great commission tells us that part of our commission is to lay hands on sick people and they will recover. Jesus told us in Luke, "A disciple is not above his teacher, but everyone who is perfectly trained will be like his teacher." So why would He train His first disciples to live and minister a certain way, then command them to train everyone they discipled to live the same way, then move back to Heaven and expect us to live a different way and not even say anything about it to His closest followers, or at least leave us something in His word instructing us to live differently? What if, we don't see something like healing operating in our church simply because we fail to talk about it enough to allow the Holy Spirit to establish faith in us concerning healing? Here's the other side of this truth, if everything in God's Kingdom operates in seedtime and harvest, and His word is incorruptible seed, and it's been sown in our soul, just maybe we've got to believe that it's growing right now. Mark 4:14,26-28,NKJV- The sower sows the word. And He said, The kingdom of God is as if a man should scatter seed on the ground, and should sleep by night and rise by day, and the seed should sprout and grow, he himself does not know how.For the earth yields crops by itself: first the blade, then the head, after that the full grain in the head. Seed doesn't do anything until its put in the ground. So back to our original question, exactly what do we believe? Just maybe Jesus is asking us the same thing He asked the blind guys, “Do you believe I'm able to do this?”

Commissioned- Committing or entrusting someone with supervisory authority for a specific action.Matthew 28:16-20,NKJV- Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. When they saw Him, they worshiped Him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, “All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age.” Amen. This assignment isn’t just about telling people that Jesus offers humanity eternal life, but extending His Lordship through us, His Spirit empowered church. It’s creating disciples that openly acknowledge our allegiance to Christ.Embracing the fact that all the commands Jesus gave His first disciples are just as much a reality for us today. Remember, Jesus said, anyone who believes in Me and the works I do, they will do also.  Then Paul adds to that by making this statement in Corinthians, “imitate me as I imitate Christ.” It’s important that we understand we’ve been commissioned by the Lord to carry on His mission, to do the things He did, to follow His example, to imitate Him. Now, as with everything pertaining to God, Heaven, eternity, etc... the principle that governs this new world of Christianity, is faith. And the foundation it all has to be established on is God’s word. In Acts 17, there’s a group of believers that received the word of God with all readiness, and search the scriptures daily to make sure what Paul was teaching was truth. 2 Peter 1, God has given us His very great and precious promises, so that through them we may participate in the divine nature... One of the most foundational truths about the Bible is that it is a living, continual unfolding of the revelation of Christ to His redeemed. God knew that without inspired revelation directly from Him to His people, we would be left with just human intelligence. But if we'll allow it, His word will transform our soul. How we think. Change the way a person thinks, change the way they believe, change the way a person believes, changes their life. That’s what repentance really is. We have to yielding to His Divine guidance. And one of the most amazing things about God's plan is that He chose from the beginning to use everyday people like you and me to advance His Kingdom. He commissioned us, supervisory authority. When we're open to His guidance, never underestimate what He'll do through someone who will dare to believe Him. So don't underestimate yourself. God knew that because of free will, humanity would have to have a point of reference that truth stems from. Living Word, written word. And because we've been created to live by faith, faith is the only way the bible, a spiritual book can ever be comprehended by a human. Hebrews makes an interesting statement, the word they heard didn’t profit them, not being mixed with faith. Remember when Jesus appeared to His first disciples giving them final instructions, commissioning them? Some worshiped, but some doubted.I believe this is God’s point in Hebrews, we’ve got to add our God given faith to the things Jesus tells us. Let’s go back to His instructions in Matthew, teach them to observe all things that I have commanded you. It’s very important that we approach our discipleship with this kind of faith filled attitude, “all things are possible to him that believes.” So as we go back to the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, one of the first things we see is Him getting baptized, showing every follower the way. Remember, He’s the first born.Luke tells us that Jesus grew in wisdom, stature, and favor with God. He’s the first born. Matthew 3:16,NKJV-  When He had been baptized, Jesus came up immediately from the water; and behold, the heavens were opened to Him, and He saw the Spirit of God descending like a dove and alighting upon Him. Here’s the thing, why would Jesus have to have the Spirit come upon Him? Think about it, He’s the first human born of the Spirit. And just like He had to have the Spirit on Him to do the things of the Kingdom, so does everyone else born of the Spirit. And in chapter 4, right away the enemy comes to tempt Jesus. Hey, if satan tempted Jesus, don’t think for a second you’ll be exempt. Matthew 4:4,NLT- But Jesus told him, “No! The Scriptures say, People do not live by bread alone, but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.” A key point here is to understand Jesus didn’t start His ministry until after the Holy Spirit came on Him. And the first thing he says is, “repent because the Kingdom of Heaven is at hand.” Change what you’re doing. Then He starts His recruiting plan for His first disciples at the same time that He’s establishing Kingdom realities. Matthew 4:23-25,NLKV- And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Then His fame went throughout all Syria; and they brought to Him all sick people who were afflicted with various diseases and torments, and those who were demon-possessed, epileptics, and paralytics; and He healed them.Great multitudes followed Him—from Galilee, and from Decapolis, Jerusalem, Judea, and beyond the Jordan. Chapters 5-7 is what’s called the sermon on the mount. He covers beatitudes, that we’re salt and light, that He’s the fulfillment of the OT law, deals with issues of the heart, love your enemies, don’t worry, don’t judge, put the Kingdom first, and lastly, build your life on everything He says. And the first thing He does when He finishes preaching is start healing people. Matthew 8:1-3,NKJV- When He had come down from the mountain, great multitudes followed Him. And behold, a leper came and worshiped Him, saying, “Lord, if You are willing, You can make me clean.” Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I AM WILLING; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. Here’s something I want all of us to take a closer look at as part of His body here and now; we’re good at teaching and preaching the gospel of the Kingdom, but what’s up with the healing part?Teaching, preaching, and healing is one of the first thing He shows His disciples. Wonder what they’re suppose to do with that example? Matthew 8:7,NKJV- And Jesus said to him, “I WILL come and heal him.” We’ve got to understand that repeatedly God reminds us that He shows favoritism or partiality to no one. The scripture also makes it clear that Jesus and His word doesn’t change. Matthew 8:14-17,NKJV- Now when Jesus had come into Peter’s house, He saw his wife’s mother lying sick with a fever. So He touched her hand, and the fever left her. And she arose and served them. When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses. Remember, we’ve been commissioned, entrusted with supervisory authority for a specific action. And that action is to go and make disciples, teaching them to observe all things Jesus commanded. So why would He train His first disciples to live and minister a certain way,Then command them to train everyone they discipled to live the same way,Then He move back to Heaven and expect us to live a different way and not even say anything about it to His closest followers, not to mention something in His Word? When we follow the life of Jesus, why do you think He healed everywhere He went? John 6:38,NKJV- For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but the will of Him who sent Me. He even said, "if you've seen Me, you've seen the Father." This assignment isn’t just about telling people that Jesus offers humanity eternal life, but extending His Lordship to all of humanity through the Spirit empowered church. Creating disciples that openly acknowledges our allegiance to Christ. I think it’s important we have talks like this because there are so many different views on the life and ministry of Jesus, especially healing. And unfortunately to the degree that we leave it out of the gospel message. Matthew 4:23,NLKV- And Jesus went about all Galilee, teaching in their synagogues, preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease among the people. Matthew 8:7, Jesus responding to the centurion said, “I WILL come and heal him.” v.13, Jesus tells the centurion, “As you have believed, so let it be down for you.” Heres a very important point, God repeatedly reminds us that He shows favoritism or partiality to no one. The scripture also makes it clear that neither Jesus or His word change. Remember, Jesus told us, "if you've seen Me, you've seen the Father." So the whole if it be God’s will thing is out. I believe that everything Jesus did with His life here was not only pointing to what He was about to accomplish for all on the cross, but showing what humanity, anointed by the Holy Spirit is supposed to look like. Remember Matthew, You go and teach them to observe all things I’ve commanded you.” Matthew 8:23-26,NKJV- Now when He got into a boat, His disciples followed Him. And suddenly a great tempest arose on the sea, so that the boat was covered with the waves. But He was asleep. Then His disciples came to Him and awoke Him, saying, “Lord, save us! We are perishing!” But He said to them, “Why are you fearful, O you of little faith?” Then He arose and rebuked the winds and the sea, and there was a great calm. Then they land in the region of the Gadarenes and some demon possessed men met Jesus and said, “have you come to torture us before our time?” In Matthew 9, Jesus goes back to His home town and right away, guess what’s the first thing He does? I like Marks version of this passage. Mark 2:1-12,NKJV-  And again He entered Capernaum after some days, and it was heard that He was in the house. Immediately many gathered together, so that there was no longer room to receive them, not even near the door. And He preached the word to them. Then they came to Him, bringing a paralytic who was carried by four men. And when they could not come near Him because of the crowd, they uncovered the roof where He was. So when they had broken through, they let down the bed on which the paralytic was lying. When Jesus saw their faith, He said to the paralytic, “Son, your sins are forgiven you.” And some of the scribes were sitting there and reasoning in their hearts, “Why does this Man speak blasphemies like this? Who can forgive sins but God alone?” But immediately, when Jesus perceived in His spirit that they reasoned thus within themselves, He said to them, “Why do you reason about these things in your hearts? Which is easier, to say to the paralytic, ‘ Your sins are forgiven you,’ or to say, ‘Arise, take up your bed and walk’? But that you may know that the Son of Man has power on earth to forgive sins” —He said to the paralytic, “I say to you, arise, take up your bed, and go to your house.” Immediately he arose, took up the bed, and went out in the presence of them all, so that all were amazed and glorified God, saying, “We never saw anything like this!” Then He calls Matthew to be a disciple and immediately goes to hang out with Matthew’s sinner friends, where He makes this radical statement from the prophet Hosea in v.13, “But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy and not sacrifice.’ For I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners, to repentance.” In v. 17 Jairus comes to Jesus about his daughter and is interrupted by the women with the issue of blood. Once again Mark gives us much more detail. Jesus tells Jairus, “Don’t be afraid, only believe.”Then he tells two blind men, “According to your faith, let it be done to you.” Matthew 9:35-38,NLT-  Jesus traveled through all the towns and villages of that area, teaching in the synagogues and announcing the Good News about the Kingdom. And he healed every kind of disease and illness. When he saw the crowds, he had compassion on them because they were confused and helpless, like sheep without a shepherd. He said to his disciples, “The harvest is great, but the workers are few. So pray to the Lord who is in charge of the harvest; ask him to send more workers into his fields.” Matthew 10:1,NKJV-  And when He had called His twelve disciples to Him, He gave them power over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of disease.

Matthew 28:16-20,NKJV- Then the eleven disciples went away into Galilee, to the mountain which Jesus had appointed for them. Commissioned- Committing or entrusting someone with supervisory authority for a specific action. This assignment isn’t just about telling people that Jesus offers humanity eternal life, but extending His Lordship to all of humanity through the Spirit empowered church. Creating disciples that openly acknowledges our allegiance to Christ. Mark 16:14-20,NKJV- Later He appeared to the eleven as they sat at the table; and He rebuked their unbelief and hardness of heart, because they did not believe those who had seen Him after He had risen. And He said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to every creature. He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned. And these signs will follow those who believe: In My name they will cast out demons; they will speak with new tongues; they will take up serpents; and if they drink anything deadly, it will by no means hurt them; they will lay hands on the sick, and they will recover.” So then, after the Lord had spoken to them, He was received up into heaven, and sat down at the right hand of God. And they went out and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them and confirming the word through the accompanying signs. Amen. Instruct all the new disciples in the practice of all that I commanded you. Jesus tells us in John that the things he did, we are to do. Paul actually tells us in Corinthians, “imitate me as I imitate Christ.” So understand that we’ve been commissioned by the Lord to carry on His mission, to do the things He did, to imitate Him will require a higher level of faith and understanding. And for every believer, the word of God has to be our only source of truth. It’s a light for our path. It’s flawless and forever settled. Jesus told us His word is Spirit and truth. Paul tells us that the word is what transforms our soul, and Hebrews lets us know that it’s God’s word that shows us the difference between natural and spiritual. 2 Timothy 3:16-17,NKJV- All Scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work. At the beginning of Jesus’ ministry, one of the first things we see is Him getting baptized, showing every follower the way. Remember, He’s the first born. And just like He had to have the Spirit on Him to do the things of the Kingdom, so do the rest of us born of the Spirit. And in chapter 4, right away the enemy comes to tempt Jesus. Hey, if satan tempted Jesus, don’t think for a second you’ll be exempt. Matthew 4:4,NLT- But Jesus told him, “No! Subtitle: God created them male and femaleOur current focus is on “God in the Family”, or “God-Empowered Families”.  The basic building block of any society or nation is the family unitIf the family unit is strong then the nation will be strongIf the family unit is broken down, the nation will be broken down alsoThe seeds of family breakdown are many times sown in people’s lives during their childhood, through:Observing & adopting dysfunctional family dynamics Lack of proper child training & wrong child training God created 2 uniquely different and distinct genders – male and female Genesis 1:27 (NKJV)So God created man in His own image; in the image of God He created him; male and female He created them. Mark 10:5–9 (NKJV)And Jesus answered and said to them …. 6… from the beginning of the creation, God ‘made them male and female.’7‘For this reason a man shall leave his father and mother and be joined to his wife, 8and the two shall become one flesh’; so then they are no longer two, but one flesh. 9Therefore what God has joined together, let not man separate.” In the beginning, God created human beings as “male” and “female”In Mark 10:2 Jesus was asked about the legality of a man divorcing his wifeJesus referred His inquirers back to creation in Genesis where God stated His original plan and intention concerning mankind Law of First Mention:God set His intention and plan regarding humankind in place in GenesisIf He had intended to change His plan and intention at any stage, He would have told us about it in His WordJesus affirmed God’s original plan and intention concerning “male and female” in the New TestamentWe have no Bible reference where God ever revoked or changed His original plan and intention concerning “male” and “female” Biblical Basics: God created human beings as “male” and “female” (men & women)God intended that they (male and female) become one through marriage for the purpose of: Procreation                      (Genesis 1:28)Companionship               (Malachi 2:14)Demonstrating the covenant relationship between Christ and the church                             (Ephesians 5:32) The Present Reality:God’s established genders are under attack from various interest groupsThere is an underlying attempt to “feminise” men and “masculinise” womenThe current Gender Identity Ideology is not based in science but in “liberal” and “progressive” political ideologyIt gives rise to sexually confused people to deny their biological sex and claim the right to be, or become another sex, or a variation of sexesThe catch-cry is: It’s not about the sex you were born with - its all about how you “feel”The liberal left wants to invade our schools and kindergardens with sex education curriculum, and re-educate our children regarding their options of sexual identity or preferences God’s created order of “male” and “female” must not be blurred or confused Deuteronomy 22:5 (NASB95) A woman shall not wear man’s clothing, nor shall a man put on a woman’s clothing; for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord your God. God explicitly forbids transvestism (cross dressing)Gender Identity other than identifying with one’s God-given sex at birth is completely against God’s will and designIn Bible days, cross-dressing had to do with:homosexuality It was connected with the worship of pagan deities Leviticus 20:13 (NLT)If a man practices homosexuality, having sex with another man as with a woman, both men have committed a detestable act. They must both be put to death, for they are guilty of a capital offense.  The Message is: Do not tamper with God’s original plan & intention for mankindDo not blur the line between the sexes Some actions are forbidden simply because they bring confusion about God’s created orderEach of us are stewards of the sex assigned to us by birthMan are created to be men for life, and women are created to be women for lifeIt is not our prerogative to change who God made us to be God intended that “male and female” understand each other, rather than emulate each other 1 Peter 3:7 (NKJV)Husbands, likewise, dwell with them with understanding, giving honor to the wife, as to the weaker vessel, and as being heirs together of the grace of life, that your prayers may not be hindered. Weaker vessel – weaker body There are numerous physiological and psychological differences between men and women, that should be understood, appreciated, and honoured.  God has not intended for us to compete against each other, but to complete each other.  Boys/men are:                                                        Girls/women are: Physically stronger                                      relationally strongerLogic oriented                                              feeling orientedConquering competitor                                relational competitor Seek Adventurers                                        seek security Risk-takers                                                  safety seekersEtc.  Certain practices hinder people from entry into heaven  1 Corinthians 6:9–10 (ESV)Or do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived: neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, 10nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. Paul lists nine categories of unrighteous people who will not get to heaven unless they repent of their sinful lifestyle and practices:  Sexually immoral (fornicators engaging in sex before marriage)Idolators Adulterers (engaging in sex with other that their married spouse)Homosexuals (same sex ThievesGreedy peopleDrunkardsRevilers (Slanderers & Abusers)Swindlers  1 Corinthians 6:11 (ESV)And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God. Paul said that some of the Corinthian believers were previously part of these 9 categories of unrighteous people.  God commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to Him  Acts 17:30-31 (NLT) God overlooked people’s ignorance about these things in earlier times, but now he commands everyone everywhere to repent of their sins and turn to him.31For he has set a day for judging the world with justice by the man he has appointed, and he proved to everyone who this is by raising him from the dead.” Everyone who repents of their sins and turns to God will be saved, washed, sanctified and justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Simon Peter answered, You are the Christ, the Son of the living God. TODAY'S SERMON NOTES MATTHEW 16:18-19 NLT (Jesus said) Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means 'rock'), and upon this rock I WILL BUILD my CHURCH, and all the POWERS OF HELL WILL NOT CONQUER IT. 19 And I will give you the KEYS OF THE KINGDOM of Heaven. Whatever you FORBID on earth will be forbidden in heaven, and whatever you PERMITon earth will be permitted in heaven."   CHURCH = EKKLESIA = ASSEMBLY = YOU!   Church was never to be a merely… A building to GO TO, Or corporation to be CONTROLLED BY, Or the spiritual finish line to MARK OFF.   The church was to be the central powerhouse for a movement. Church is about leading people through the systems, relationships and tools that transform them at the deepest levels, and thereby transforming marriages, recovering addictions, healing relationships, empowering vocational aspirations, and breathing life into inspired-dreams; giving us a purpose to live… and die for. When church attenders UNDERSTAND, INTEGRATE and APPLY THE FUNCTIONS of this movement, it changes their lives, then they too become the embodiment of the movement to outsiders. This is how we arrive at our commission, to go into all the world and preach the gospel.     MATTHEW 16:18-19 NLT (Jesus said) I WILL BUILD MY CHURCH…   CHURCH MACRO PURPOSES & SYSTEMS EVANGELISM RELATIONSHIPS SPIRITUAL TRAINING MINISTRY WORSHIP   THE GREAT COMMISSION MATTHEW 28:18-20 NKJV And Jesus came and spoke to them, saying, "All authority has been given to Me in heaven and on earth. 19 "GO therefore and make DISCIPLES of all the nations, BAPTIZING them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 "TEACHING them to observe all things that I have commanded you; and lo, I am with you always, even to the end of the age." LIVING BEYOND IMPOSSIBLE SERIES BIO:  The Biblical narrative implies that a normal relationship with God includes miracle interventions. This is promised through Jesus' teachings, creating a vision that "all things are possible" to those who walk with God. If the miraculous, rising above even impossible situations, is the normative for the Christian, then how are we to activate such realities? How are we to encounter God, live in greater freedom and see Bible-level miracles happen for us? This Sunday we begin a several week series of teachings that will inspire, impact and infuse God's great heart of hope.    MATTHEW 17:20 NKJV [Jesus said] …for assuredly, I say to you, if you have FAITH AS A MUSTARD SEED, you will say to this mountain, 'Move from here to there,' and it will move; and NOTHING WILL BE IMPOSSIBLE FOR YOU. MARK 9:23 NKJV Jesus said to him, "If you can BELIEVE, ALL THINGS [ARE] POSSIBLE to him who BELIEVES."   QUESTION: Do you have any IMPOSSIBILITIES in your life, that if became POSSIBLE, would ALLEVIATE SUFFERING?     IMPOSSIBILITIES: Absolute statistical truth Confirmed as incapable of occurring Mathematically beyond improbability Transcends laws of physics Without physical explanation Requires divine intervention   HOW MIRACLES HAPPEN: I don’t believe that miracles are LIMITED to RANDOM ACTS of GOD’S SOVEREIGNTY. I believe miracles are PRE-EXISTING POTENTIALS, accomplished in CHRIST’S REDEMPTION, ACTIVATED by our engagement of SPIRITUAL LAW. When miracles DON’T HAPPEN, it ISN’T because of LIMITATIONS in GOD’S SOVEREIGN-DESIRE, NOR our lack of SPIRITUAL BRAWN; BUT a lack of understanding of EXISTING SPIRITUAL LAW.   THE LAW OF FAITH GALATIANS 3:5 NKJV Therefore He who supplies the Spirit to you and works MIRACLES among you, [does He do it] by the WORKS OF THE LAW, or by the HEARING OF FAITH? ROMANS 3:27 NKJV Where [is] boasting then? It is excluded. BY WHAT LAW? Of WORKS? No, but by the LAW OF FAITH.   SHAMING STATEMENTS: “If your faith was real you would not be experiencing challenges!” “You must have sin in your life!” “You didn’t pray hard enough!” “You had doubt in your mind!” “God is judging you!”   WHAT IS BIBLE FAITH? A coping mechanism (a passive virtue)? A catalytic receptor (causal force)?   WHAT IS BIBLE FAITH? (PASSIVE OR CAUSAL?)  WOMAN WITH THE ISSUE OF BLOOD - MARK 5:25-34 NKJV And Jesus said to her, "Daughter, YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction." ONE OF THE TEN LEPERS - LUKE 17:19 NKJV And Jesus said to him, "Arise, go your way. YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL.” BLIND BARTEMEAUS – MARK 10:52 NKJV Then Jesus said to him, "Go your way; YOUR FAITH HAS MADE YOU WELL." And immediately he received his sight… JAMES 5:14-15 NKJV Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord. 15 And THE PRAYER OF FAITH WILL SAVE THE SICK, and the Lord will raise him up. And if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven.   FAITH IS A CATALYST RECEPTOR MARK 11:22-24 NKJV So Jesus answered and said to them, "HAVE FAITH IN GOD. 23 "For assuredly, I say to you, whoever says to this mountain, 'Be removed and be cast into the sea,' and does not doubt in his heart, but BELIEVES that those things he says will be done, he will have whatever he says. 24 "Therefore I say to you, whatever things you ask when you pray, BELIEVE that you RECEIVE[them], and you will have [them]. JAMES 1:5-8 NKJV If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him. 6 But let him ASK IN FAITH, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7 For let not that man suppose that he will RECEIVE anything from the Lord; 8 [he is] a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.   QUESTION: What IMPOSSIBLE things would you like to EXPERIENCE with God?   QUESTION: What if over the next several weeks we could look at the principles that govern MIRACLE-FAITH as CATALYTIC RECEPTOR?

For I am the Lord who heals you.” Matthew 8 - Our healing foretold マタイ 8 – 私たちの癒しが予告されている “I desire it, be cleansed” 「わたしの心だ。きよくなれ。」 (Matthew 8:3 NKJV) Then Jesus put out His hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be cleansed.” Immediately his leprosy was cleansed. (マタイ 8:3 新改訳)イエスは手を伸ばして、彼にさわり、「わたしの心だ。きよくなれ。」と言われた。すると、すぐに彼のらい病はきよめられた。 “I will come and heal him” 「行って、直してあげよう。」 (Matthew 8:7 NKJV) And Jesus said to him, “I will come and heal him.” (マタイ 8:7 新改訳)イエスは彼に言われた。「行って、直してあげよう。」 “as you have believed, let it be done for you!” 「あなたの信じたとおりになるように。」 (Matthew 8:13 NKJV) Then Jesus said to the centurion, “Go your way; and as you have believed, so let it be done for you.” And his servant was healed that same hour. (マタイ 8:13 新改訳)それから、イエスは百人隊長に言われた。「さあ行きなさい。あなたの信じたとおりになるように。」すると、ちょうどその時、そのしもべはいやされた。 Jesus took our internal pain and our sicknesses イエスは私たちの内側の痛みや病も取ってくれた (Matthew 8:16-17 NKJV) When evening had come, they brought to Him many who were demon-possessed. And He cast out the spirits with a word, and healed all who were sick, (17) that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Isaiah the prophet, saying: “He Himself took our infirmities And bore our sicknesses.” 600 years before Jesus イエスが来る600年前 (Isaiah 53:4-5 NKJV) Surely He has borne our griefs And carried our sorrows; Yet we esteemed Him stricken, Smitten by God, and afflicted. (5) But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; The chastisement for our peace was upon Him, And by His stripes we are healed. Question: What are ‘the stripes’? 質問:打ち傷とは? Answer: The day of the cross 2 things happened. 答え:十字架にかかった日、2つのことが起きた 1.The whipping (the stripes) むち打ち(打ち傷) (John 19:1-4 NKJV) So then Pilate took Jesus and scourged Him. (2) And the soldiers twisted a crown of thorns and put it on His head, and they put on Him a purple robe. (3) Then they said, “Hail, King of the Jews!” And they struck Him with their hands. (4) Pilate then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.” 2.The cross 十字架 (John 19: 13-16 NKJV) When Pilate therefore heard that saying, he brought Jesus out and sat down in the judgment seat in a place that is called The Pavement, but in Hebrew, Gabbatha. (14) Now it was the Preparation Day of the Passover, and about the sixth hour. And he said to the Jews, “Behold your King!” (15) But they cried out, “Away with Him, away with Him! Crucify Him!” Pilate said to them, “Shall I crucify your King?” The chief priests answered, “We have no king but Caesar!” (16) Then he delivered Him t Read rest of the notes 続きを読む https://yokohama.mylifehouse.com/tv/message/jesus-lord-over-sickness-and-evil-in-our-lives
