Have you ever wished to listen to a podcast that completely fans on cashing in on the Oscar hype? Well, do we have an episode for you.
In this riot of an episode, Tamara dives headfirst (and wrist-first, unfortunately) into the saga of her latest athletic misadventure. Picture this: a tale of bravery, folly, and a wrist that's seen better days. Rheannon, ever the sage, swoops in with remedies that sound more like ancient witchcraft than actual medical advice. Tamara, in her infinite wisdom, tries to dodge these mystical cures, forgetting that Rheannon is practically a wizard in a lab coat. Then, we slide into a post-Super Bowl world where the snack bowls were as empty as the promises of healthy eating everyone made. The group chat's stress levels were higher than the scores, with Tamara possibly setting a new record for most emojis sent in a state of panic. As if that's not enough, Rheannon's on a quest to revolutionize sleep in her household, introducing a schedule that's met with enthusiasm ranging from "meh" to "you've got to be kidding me." It's like herding cats, if the cats were insomniacs with a Netflix addiction. And because we're gluttons for punishment, Tamara trudges through her reviews of Oscar-nominated films, where Rheannon's tolerance for chase scenes is tested. Spoiler alert: it doesn't take much. One car chase, and it's all tumbling downhill faster than you can say "cut!" Just like this episode, which might just be our wildest ride yet. Buckle up, folks—it's going to be a bumpy, hilarious descent!
Caleb and Eric return to the bar to discuss some of the big movies of 2022, centered around Triangle of Sadness, Avatar: The Way of Water, and briefly on the other best picture nominees. The Bois are back on their bullsh!t this week with another jam-packed episode of WE NEED 2 TALK! They get into some Ukraine tings (4:30). Next, they recap the clown show that was the GOP's questioning of Ketanji Brown-Jackson at her Supreme Court Justice confirmation hearing (25:50). After some quick Watchmen talk, the guys discuss the details of the monumental Deshaun Watson trade (1:01:10). Last, but not least, Felix asks Willis why he (and the rest of America) are killing good movies (1:19:10).https://wn2tpod.buzzsprout.com Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/wn2tpodInstagram: https://instagram.com/wn2tpodTwitter: https://twitter.com/wn2tpod
I have finally returned from my break and what better way to kick things back off than with an episode on the Oscar Best Picture nominees of the 2021 Academy Awards ceremony. As all Oscar film episodes, I discuss (in loads of detail) my opinions on each nominee of this year which include: Promising Young Woman, Nomadland, Mank, Judas and The Black Messiah, Minari, Sound of Metal, The Father and The Trial of The Chicago 7. Then, I discuss who I thought should have won versus who actually won as well as some snubs of the particular year. Enjoy :)
Of all the TV Tropes pages we've covered that shouldn't exist, this one is the one that should exist the least so far. Steve McQueen's Oscar-winning adaption of Solon Northup's memoir of being kidnapped into slavery is a brutal magnum opus that refuses to gloss over the horrors of American slavery. So of course, some TV Tropers documented every single way that the slavemasters are like anime school girls. I wish I was kidding. Joining me is comedian and podcaster Alex Ptak (Pod Damn America, Ballin' Out Super, Theater of Delights). We try, and fail, to understand the kind of person who sees "12 Years a Slave" and thinks "that's Trauma Conga Line featuring a Yandere Bigot With a Crush" to me.

In this week's episode, we missed the traditional Academy Award season this February just gone as it's been postpone to April. Until then, I decided to give you my breakdown of the previous years Academy Award ceremony as it was (in my opinion) one of the strongest seasons I currently have seen. So, I breakdown in detail every single film nominated for Best Picture (Little Women, Jojo Rabbit, Ford vs Ferrari, The Irishman, Parasite, Joker, Marriage Story, 1917, Once Upon a Time in... Hollywood). As well as that, I discuss the actual winners versus the films I would have liked to see win and the potential snubbed of that year. Finally, I talk about what the 2021 ceremony might look like this year. Enjoy :)
Bonus Minisode #2 We play the Big Movie Quiz Trivia game and test our knowledge of Action, Comedy and Oscar Films. We hope you enjoy! Be Kind Rewind!
It's the return of Matt! In this week's episode, Matt joins me to talk about films nominated for Best Picture in the Oscars Ceremony of 2019. These films include: Bohemian Rhapsody, BlacKkKlansman, Green Book, The Favourite, Roma, A Star Is Born, Vice and Black Panther. Listen to us talk about which ones of these films were stronger and weaker out of this year's batch. Then, we crown our winner for Best Picture that year and compare it to the actual winner of the year! Enjoy :)
In this week's episode, Kingsley and I discuss all of the Best Picture nominees of the 2018 Academy Awards Ceremony. We separate the weaker films to the stronger films of the year exploring where our opinions are similar and differ. The films we dive into include: Darkest Hour, Phantom Thread, The Shape of Water (yes again), Call Me By Your Name, Dunkirk, Get Out, Lady Bird, The Post and Three Billboards outside Ebbing, Missouri. That's a whole bucket load of films! Then, we crown our own winners of 2018, seeing whether it is the same or different to the actual winner that year. Honestly, this was such an amazing episode to record and definitely made me laugh throughout~! Enjoy :)
Stuck inside & looking for something to watch? Your friends at The Pop Culture Coram Deo Podcast have your back! Jeff brings in his favorite CoronaQuarantine partner, his wife Christie, to review the slate of films nominated for the Best Film Oscar of 2020. They give a min (well, sometimes kinda mini) review of each film, along with conscience warnings, and thematic analysis to help you either (a) decide if you want to watch the movie or (b) think through it as a Christian if you have already seen it. Here's the timestamps for each review: 08:01 - Little Women 10:06 - Marriage Story 29:06 - Once Upon a Time in Hollywood 38:46 - The Irishman 54:04 - Joker 01:05:14 - Ford v. Ferrari 01:16:40 - Jojo Rabbit 01:25:42 - Parasite 01:45:00 - 1917

Travis Wyman help us re-ring in the Bicentennial by revisiting the Oscar Films of 1976
Washington Post film critic Ann Hornaday joins Emily Jashinsky for a discussion on this year's best movies and the stories behind the Oscar nominated films--both the ones that won, and those who didn't but deserved to. They discuss A Star Is Born, Death of Stalin, and motivations behind the Academy voters. Most importantly- Did Bradley Cooper lose because he's too attractive?
HBO and The Ringer's Bill Simmons is joined by Shea Serrano to talk about James Harden's unbelievable play (2:20) before talking with Jason Gay about 'Heaven Can Wait' and the suspicious parallels between the film and Super Bowl LIII (25:30). Finally, Bill calls up Wesley Morris to check in on the Oscars race (1:04:40).
Sarah Cullen & Richard Drumm return to your ears after a forced lengthy absence in 2018. We hope to find a home in 2019 and have them back for their almost-regular film ruminations. For now, we set up shop in an abandoned room and reflected on the year in film... The pod kicks off with our buffs looking at their favourite Irish films of the year and includes Richard finally asking Sarah if she's "got any yokes". Our best branding people came together to title a special section for this episode called "The 2018 Oscar Films that Only Came Out Here in 2018 but Are Technically 2017 Films", including a look at the politics of Phantom Thread and the fish-sex movie. After discussing the sudden appearances of naked men, Sarah and Richard pull apart their favourite films of the year, discuss recurring tropes in the year in film, including assimilation, Motherhood as a horrifying thing, highbrow trash and how deaths of wives and girlfriends give men the opportunity to become violent and get in touch with their emotions. Handy. Finally there's the delicious mention of turkeys of the year. Ear ye. Ear ye...
