If an adult film cleaning up at the Oscars with five Academy Awards isn't evidence of our debauched, fallen culture, nothing is. Jason reacts to the 2025 Oscars Best Picture winner, "Anora," with its dark storytelling and heavy porn tropes. Can't blame the Oscars for promoting this degenerate mindset when the red-pill community champions Andrew Tate. Suppose Andrew Tate is on camera bragging about pimping out and sexually exploiting women while simultaneously being viewed as a role model for nuclear masculinity. In that case, something is seriously wrong with our culture. Steve Kim joins the show a bit later to discuss "Tank" Davis' controversial knee in a majority draw fight versus Lamont Roach Jr. JuJu Watkins is becoming Los Angeles' next "Showtime" basketball figure. Riley Gaines' prayer for President Trump and his Cabinet at a NASCAR Cup Series race in Texas also makes headlines. Meanwhile, President Trump is working to completely pardon baseball legend Pete Rose for his gambling blemish. Will Rose finally be allowed to enter the National Baseball Hall of Fame? Today on Art of the Cut we speak with Sam Restivo and Oscar-winning editor, Claire Simpson about their editing of Ridley Scott's Gladiator II. Claire and Sam have been on Art of the Cut previously for their work on Ridley's Napoleon. Claire won an ACE Eddie, a BAFTA and an Oscar for her editing of Best Picture winner, Platoon. She was nominated for another Oscar and an ACE Eddie and won a BAFTA for her editing of The Constant Gardener. Along with Platoon, she's edited two other Oscar Best Picture nominees: The Reader and Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close. In addition to Napoleon and Gladiator II, Sam was an additional editor on The Last Showman, The Last Duel, House of Gucci and Robin Hood. The discussion today is about - among other things - re-organizing the film to find the best moment to reveal critical information, the difference between editing action and dialogue scenes, and the importance of experimentation.
