That includes an ill-fated trip to Greenland, news of Twitter's sale, a mini-exodus from Yale professors, the importance of due process, an update on the Signal text chain, plus ABC/Disney learning that a bully is never satisfied. Was missing my ol' belly laugh pal TV Producer Adrienne Lopez. She used to live close by me but moved, and moved on to traveling for work. Hadn't seen her in person since before Covid. Happened to a lot of friendships. Can't remember exactly how we originally became friends, but I think it started way back when 5000 years ago when she once booked me on a TV show. Adrienne's been in the tv & film business a long time. She's a veteran television producer and talent executive. She's been a casting director/producer in all tv genres including, reality tv, docu-series, and competition shows as well as scripted programming. She is a very successful celebrity talent booker and is currently The Senior Talent Producer on The Tamron Hall Show in NYC. Adrienne said, “We usually tape a live show at ABC on 67th and Columbus, but the news is we're moving. All of ABC Disney is moving down way downtown to Tribeca. I just found out today that we're moving in December. Everybody else is moving right after the election”. Adrienne is used to being on the move. Both Adrienne and I were independent female entrepreneurs and single moms along the way of life. Always hustling because single moms always have to hustle, but also always laughing – even when things weren't exactly going our way. We'd stop and have a glass of wine together and commiserate. Once we were so broke, we had to share a glass of wine…at happy hour. LOL We still laugh like hell about that one. Though we haven't seen in each in person in a while, I'd kept up with Adrienne online, knew she became the Sr. Talent Producer at The Tamron Hall Show, always joked she had fancier friends than me when I'd see her post about her celebrity pals, and found out when the great Willie Mays passed, she actually was his neighbor for a while growing up near ‘Shea Stadium'. Yes Willie Mays was her neighbor for while on the street she grew up on in East Elmhurst, Queens. Told Adrienne it was time for her to come visit me and have a few of those same ol' belly laughs we always like to have. I thought it would be fun to catch up with her in the studio live on the air with me, so she could talk about all those things that she does and knows that might interest you guys too. (Like what goes on behind the scenes on a live TV show and how to get booked as a guest on one!) Adrienne has been at The Tamron Hall Show five seasons now and is very proud she's been nominated for an Emmy twice. She didn't win, but oh well, she says she'll get ‘em next time! The new season starts September 3rd. Meet Adrienne Lopez and find out how getting booked a TV show works and more, in this podcast of our live conversation on The Debbie Nigro Show.
In conversation with Tamala Edwards, anchor, 6abc Action News morning edition. Also the host of Deadline: Crime with Tamron Hall on Investigation Discovery, she formerly served as an anchor for Today, the host of MSNBC Live with Tamron Hall, and a national news correspondent for NBC. While at NBC, she earned a 2015 Edward R. Murrow Award for her reportage on domestic abuse. Hall also partnered with Safe Horizon to launch The Tamron Renate Fund, which aids victims and families affected by domestic violence. James reacts to the Steve Burton returning to General Hospital AND his claim to only want to act a few more years; Ingo Rademacher's claims against GH, and the ABC Disney Mandate in general!
Hour 1 Aaron Rodgers was on with Pat McAfee and said Jimmy Kimmel is nervous about the Epstein list being revealed. Boomer said that is a defamation of character and if he were Kimmel he would sue him. Gio said the Jets have to get him off of McAfee. Boomer was not expecting this as a topic today. C-Lo is in for Jerry and is here for his first update, but first we continued talking about Rodgers vs Kimmel. C-Lo has the actual audio of Rodgers mentioning Kimmel. The Jets are parting ways with Dalvin Cook and giving him a chance to join a playoff team. Panthers owner David Tepper was fined $300K for throwing a drink on a Jaguars fan. The Rangers lost to the Hurricanes 6-1 at the Garden. In the final segment of the hour, Cam Soda has offered $100K to the woman who was seen flashing her chest on Bourbon Street on ESPN during the Sugar Bowl broadcast. How much would it take you to go on a webcam, naked, for an hour. Boomer is thinking of muting Peter Schwartz on Twitter. Hour 2 Gio wants the Jets/Patriots game to be important but it won't be. Nothing is changing with the Jets. Saleh and Douglas are coming back and Aaron Rodgers will be the quarterback. Boomer thinks there will be changes with the coaching staff underneath the coordinators. Will this be Bill Belichick's last game as Head Coach of the Patriots? Who has anything to play for in a Jets uniform? We've seen business decisions being made by players like Sauce Gardner. Will we get a Bill Belichick moment exiting Foxborough for the last time? A caller is going to the game in a black suit, treating it as a funeral for Belichick. There are a bunch of teams this week with a ‘win and in' situation. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with the history of Jimmy Kimmel vs Aaron Rodgers. Bill Belichick will tell you his future on ‘MyFace'. Zion Williamson, ‘looks like a guy that eats too much'. In the final segment of the hour, the best game of the weekend coming up is Bills/Dolphins on Sunday night. Other than the Browns, Gio doesn't think another team could go on an ‘improbable run'. Hour 3 Al tells a story of a guy on a bike attacking his car at 4am this morning. He punched and kicked his car in anger. C-Lo returns for an update and starts with audio from Spike Eskin on the Awful Announcing podcast. He was asked about replacing Boomer when he decides to retire. C-Lo has audio of Jimmy Kimmel calling Aaron Rodgers a ‘whack-packer'. In the final segment of the hour, a band called Ill Minds sent us some hoodies to play one of their songs. A caller doesn't like that Boomer said ‘idiots in Suffolk County'. Hour 4 The big topic today has been Aaron Rodgers saying Jimmy Kimmel doesn't want the Epstein list revealed, and Kimmel threatening to sue him. Both McAfee and Kimmel are owned by ABC/Disney. Callers react to Rodgers vs Kimmel. Wink Martindale connects with the players, but isn't the healthiest looking guy. C-Lo returns for an update but first Boomer wants to know what ‘Mr. Pfizer' thinks of this Aaron Rodgers stuff. Gio wonders how BT and Sal will handle this topic today. Rodgers also had a conspiracy about the colors for Super Bowl logos. The Moment of The Day involves Al's car getting attacked and what would happen if Eddie was attacked on the streets of NYC. In the final segment of the show, Boomer got Al a police baton and we practiced on a wooden box and a dummy head of a masked wrestler.

Lou welcomes special guest Bud Cornwell, a former marine and the current host of the podcast “The Patriot Cause.” Bud and Lou discuss The Constitution and what's the biggest problem today with the Constitution. Bud explains that we don't have a Constitution if we don't have accountability in our government. Bud points out that nowhere in the Constitution is it required for the federal government to balance the budget. Is the Second Amendment there to prevent our government from taking total control over us? They discuss immigration and if the Cartels have control of our borders. Is that why the U.S. can't control them? How do we fix this problem? And in light of the mass shootings, the guns or the culture? They finish their conversation speaking about the United States withdrawal from Afghanistan. Author, screenwriter and journalist, Stephen Rebello, majored in literature and psychology, ultimately earning a master's degree. Subsequently, he became a clinical social worker at a Harvard-affiliated teaching hospital in Boston. But it was during a vacation in Los Angeles that Stephen secured an in person interview with legendary director, Alfred Hitchcock. To Stephen, the interview seemed like a natural progression of the telephone calls he'd had with Mr. Hitchcock while growing up. The interview, which turned out to be Hitchcock's last before his 1980 death, was published originally in Boston's The Real Paper, and subsequently syndicated worldwide. That led Stephen to writing for magazines like: American Film, Cinefantastique, Cosmopolitan, GQ, Movieline (where he was Editor at Large), Playboy (where he was Contributing Editor), The Saturday Review, and others.Stephen's book, Reel Art: Great Posters From the Golden Age of the Silver Screen has been honored as one of the best ever written about Hollywood. His second book, Alfred Hitchcock and the Making of Psycho, has been translated into eight languages, and was adapted for the big screen as Hitchcock, starring Anthony Hopkins, Helen Mirren and Scarlett Johansson, for which Stephen did several screenplay rewrites. He's written three "making of" books for Disney Animation, worked on story and screenplay development for various Disney animated projects, and developed for ABC-Disney a live-action musical version of the animated classic Sleeping Beauty.Stephen's critically acclaimed 2020 bestseller, Dolls! Dolls! Dolls! Deep Inside Valley of the Dolls, has been optioned for development for the screen.

On this episode, The Barretta Brothers celebrate the TV show Dinosaurs and welcome the people behind the characters, Charlene, Robbie, Baby, and BP Richfield. Episode Outline: 03:15mins: Conversation about the character Robbie Sinclair. Day Murch, Steve Whitmire, Leif Tilden, and Lisa Rocco join Gene & Bill. 25:27mins: Conversation about the character BP Richfield. Jane Gootnick joins Day, Steve, and Leif. 40:30mins: Conversation about the character Charlene. Bruce Lanoil, MIchelan Sisti, and Jill Thraves join Gene & Bill. 1:07:00mins: Conversation about Baby Sinclair. Kevin Clash, Terri Hardin, John Kennedy, and Jane Gootnick join Gene & Bill. ABOUT OUR GUESTS: Jane Gootnick With college degrees in both acting and set design Jane first moved to Europe working in Belgium and London. In the mid-70's she moved to NYC working with alternative theatre groups (LaMama, Joe Papp's Public Theatre). Jane became head sculptor at Brooks Van Horn Costume Co. making props, masks and creatures for a large variety of venues: Broadway shows (Sweeney Todd, Dracula, Peter Pan), feature films (The Wiz, Hair), Warner Bros walkarounds, commercials, Ringling Bros Circus, and the first four seasons of Saturday Night Live. In 1978, the costume designer for SNL mentioned that the Jim Henson Company was looking for sculptors for a film called The Dark Crystal and suggested she interview. Jane was offered three weeks work to build a prototype support harness for the Skeksis they were developing. So, she left her three-year full-time job for three weeks of work at Henson's and stayed 40 years! Jane has worked in both the New York puppet shop and the London Creature Shop throughout the years. Designing/building puppets and creatures, supervising builds, and running workshops on location for Muppet/Henson films and TV series, (Dark Crystal, Muppet Show, Sesame Street, Fraggle Rock, Labyrinth, The Storyteller, The Witches, Ninja Turtles, Dinosaurs, Muppets Tonight, The Muppets, etc.). She has also worked on a variety of talk shows, game shows, and awards shows (Oscars, Grammys, Hollywood Bowl and many more). Jane is an art director for print and media photoshoots, film posters and endless fashion shoots with Miss Piggy with Louis Vuitton, Prada and other diva designers. Steve Whitmire Jim Henson invited Steve Whitmire to join his team in 1978 during the height of the popularity of The Muppet Show, and Whitmire had a hand in virtually every Muppet project for nearly four decades. He originated such characters as Rizzo the Rat, Lips the Trumpet Man, Miss Piggy's dog Foo-Foo, and Bean Bunny, and also sustained Richard Hunt's characters, the hapless lab assistant Beaker and codger Statler after Hunt's death in 1992. Upon Henson's death in 1990, Whitmire accepted the duty for the continuation of several of Jim's characters and is best known for his 24-years as Ernie and his 27-years as Kermit the Frog. Projects include Sesame Street and non-Muppet films such as The Dark Crystal, The Witches, Dreamchild and Labyrinth, as well as the popular sitcom Dinosaurs and the classic 1980's television series Fraggle Rock in which Whitmire originated Wembley Fraggle and Sprocket the Dog. After 19 films, 8 television series, numerous specials, multiple sound recordings, and volumes of unique live appearances, Whitmire carries forth the essential principles of the lineage as the foundation for a progressive approach to the art of puppetry in today's world and looks forward to sharing that spirit in his future endeavors. www.stevewhitmire.website Leif Tilden Leif Tilden watched his mother drink herself into a deep depression while living with her in Berkeley California during the late 60's free love movement. After her suicide he moved to Boston Massachusetts where he grew up in a segregated environment where the Irish, Italian and black neighborhoods beat each other up daily. Eventually he would find himself studying experimental theatre in New York City where he discovered his vulnerability through movement and the incredible falafel sandwich. Soon after that, which to him seems like a dream, he found himself inside the soul of a Teenage mutant ninja turtle. Life was good. Soon after that he drove across country for a minimum wage job on a tv show entitled, Dinosaurs for Disney. Life was not good and Leif will explain the details as to why on the show. Day Murch Day worked in the theatre for many years, as a performer in Liquid Theatre, with Stomu Yamashtas Red Buddha Theatre, and the Young Vic, with appearances in provincial rep and the West End, gradually commuting a hobby of designing and making clothes into a career. An early introduction on Time Bandits to the Monty Python team led to a specialist interest in the care and presentation of difficult costumes, with work on The Meaning Of Life, Greystoke, Legend and Fifth Element and several projects for Jim Hensons London Creature Shop. This led in time to making this type of costume and he headed the Fabrication Unit for Nick Dudmans Department of Magical Creatures for the initial Harry Potter Movies, building Hagrid and other fantasticals. In children's television he helped create characters for In The Night Garden , BoohBahs and Zingzillas. He enjoyed a longterm association with the Batman franchise as Batsuit Wrangler with all the Caped Crusaders except Adam West! Now happily retired with his life partner in Wales, he doesn't miss show business. Bruce Lanoil Bruce ”B” Lanoil, spawned in Brooklyn N.Y., raised on steady diet of Saturday morning Cartoons, Sugary cereals, Mad Magazines, Jerry Lewis and Classic Star Trek, is today, a proud and grateful 30 year veteran Muppeteer,.. Oh, the beaten path was never in the mix! As a Theater major at Cal State Northridge, a vaudevillian improvisational clown at heart, fate truly lent a “hand” when Master Puppeteer Tony Urbano chose Bruce from hundreds, for Sid and Marty Krofft's exclusive 1980 workshop. Many Commercials and videos followed, furthering his performance skills with Master teachers, Paul Sills, Avery Schreiber, (Spollin Theater Games), and Harvey Kalmanson (V.O.). Destiny and Jim Henson came knocking when Brian Henson cast Bruce as “Charlene Sinclair”, in TV's DINOSAURS for five glorious seasons on ABC/Disney (1990-93). Bruce is extremely grateful for lifetime of collaborative joy and laughter, and believes, that Everyone deserves to give themselves the Inner Permission to pursue their truth and passion freely, with an open heart. As a Teaching Artist, his quest is to release fear and doubt, allowing each learner and Artist the opportunity to connect, to share, to Soar! We stand upon the shoulders of all creative souls before us, that enables every single voice to tell Their story, their version, of life's unpredictable magnificent journey, while illuminating all our lives with the Magical Gift of Play :) Michelan Sisti Michelan began his performing journey as a musician, then an actor with multiple Broadway roles, which directly led to him becoming a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the original live action movies (Michelangelo). Being Mikey, evolved into our ultimate animatronics show, “Dinosaurs”. The coolest suit show EVER! Since then, Mich has enjoyed 26 more years of Muppets and other neat things with puppets and motion capture. He has loved every minute of the trip. Jill Thraves After growing up in the countryside of Yorkshire and Derbyshire I moved to London to attend University. Got my degree in French and went straight into making clothes and cotumes for dancers, musicians, strippers, and royalty. Bill Wyman, David Bowie, Freddy Mercury, Jimmy Page, Princess Margaret, were some of the people I dressed. Through friends I started working in films and tv., Time Bandits, The Meaning of Life and Labyrinth were early jobs. Labyrinth led to Mother Goose Stories and an Emmy, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, and then Dinosaurs! So after 20 years I in London I came to Los Angeles. Since then I have worked on a lot of Superhero films, from Batman to Avengers and Guardians. I seem to have made a lot of capes! Batman to Thor and many in between.
On this episode, The Barretta Brothers celebrate the TV show Dinosaurs and welcome the people behind the Unisaurus and Hand Puppet Characters. Episode Outline: 07:200mins: Conversation with Julianne Buescher, Michelan Sisti, John Kennedy, Rickey Boyd, and Jake Tate 33:30mins: Conversation with Julianne Buescher, Michelan Sisti, John Kennedy, Rickey Boyd, Jake Tate, Bruce Lanoli, Pons Maar, and Terri Hardin 35:50mins: Conversation with Allan Trautman, Terri Hardin, Bruce Lanoil, Tom Fisher, and Pons Maar. ABOUT OUR GUESTS: Allan Trautman Allan Trautman was born in Brooklyn, NY and moved to Miami Beach with his family at the beginning of 9th grade. He began acting in Miami Beach Senior High under the direction of famed drama teacher Jay Jensen. He spent four years in St. Louis at Washington University, earning a BA in Physics and Drama. He then earned an MFA in Acting from the California Institute of the Arts, where he met his wife, Diane. While in St. Louis, he began his puppetry career working on The Letter People at public TV station KETC. He performed in all 60 15-minute episodes, each one shot on a Friday (he skipped classes). Two years after graduating from CalArts, while working full-time at Leo's Stereo in the San Fernando Valley, a friend told him about an audition notice for a “puppet school” sponsored by Sid and Marty Krofft. Allan spent the summer of 1980 at what were a series of workshops under the direction of Tony Urbano. There he met other young puppeteers who all became lifelong friends—Bruce Lanoil, Kevin Carlson, Tim Blaney, and others. Much of the 1980s were spent working on projects for the Kroffts and for Dave Pavelonis and his Peppercorn Productions, as well as pursuing his acting career. During this time he was sent on an audition for Return of the Living Dead, and was cast as the Tarman, who went on to become an iconic zombie film character—among the first to ask specifically for “Brains!” In 1990, as part of the then-pending purchase of The Muppets by the Walt Disney Company, Jim Henson came to Los Angeles to direct Muppetvision 3-D, an attraction for Disney's theme parks. Again, a friend was able to get Allan into the audition, and this was the beginning of Allan's career with The Jim Henson Company and the Muppets. In 1991 Allan joined the cast of the ABC-TV series Dinosaurs as the animatronic puppeteer for Fran Sinclair. That show remained in production for 65 episodes, until the end of 1993, introducing Allan to sophisticated animatronics. This experience continued with movies like Babe, Men in Black, Doctor Dolittle, Jack Frost, The Flintstones in Viva Rock Vegas, Monkeybone, Cats and Dogs, Men in Black II, and The Country Bears. After Dinosaurs, two producers on that show requested his presence on their next show, Unhappily Ever After, a sitcom on the brand-new WB Network. Allan puppeteered Mr. Floppy, the lead character's wise-cracking (imaginary) talking bunny, voiced in front of a live audience by Bobcat Goldthwaite. In the meantime, Allan's work with The Muppets included videos such as It's Not Easy Being Green and Muppet Classic Theatre, the movie Muppets from Space, and, for TV, Muppets Tonight, It's a Very Merry Muppet Christmas Movie, and The Muppets' Wizard of Oz. In the summer of 2005, Allan became a founding member of Puppet Up!—Uncensored, Henson Alternative's puppet/improv show. He performed in the show off-Broadway, at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival, on tour throughout the U.S., and on the historic Chaplin Stage on The Jim Henson Company lot. He also acted as puppetry technique instructor. He was one of three on-set puppeteers during production of The Jungle Book (2016), and was a core puppeteer on The Happytime Murders. Allan continues to work in physical as well as digital puppetry, in shows such as Splash and Bubbles for PBS Kids, and has moved into directing for that show and others. Julianne Buescher Julianne Buescher is a whimsically versatile, classically trained actor, voice-over artist and Muppet Performer…whose new Muppet character Beverly Plume can be seen in “Muppets Now!” On Disney+! Follow Julianne on IG at @juliannebuescher and see all her credits at IMDb.me/juliannebuescher Jake Tate Jack Tate is an actor/puppeteer/voiceover guy. Mostly, he's retired, but he'd work if someone asked. He was in movies: The Right Stuff, Monster in the Closet, Interview with an Assassin and many others. On TV, he did a lot of day-player roles: Fresh Prince, Frazier, Hotel, Murder She Wrote and many others, before he landed on Dinosaurs, as a regular player, a Unisaur, appearing as many of the characters interacting with the family. Another show he was a regular on later, was The Journey of Allen Strange, for Nickelodeon. He was more successful in commercials than TV or movies, doing pretty near 1000 of them, many as a spokesman for AT&T, Pepsi, Bud Light, Ford Mercury and played, for 20+ years, the character Jack in the Box. Dinosaurs was easily his career favorite. Michelan Sisti Michelan began his performing journey as a musician, then an actor with multiple Broadway roles, which directly led to him becoming a Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle in the original live action movies (Michelangelo). Being Mikey, evolved into our ultimate animatronics show, “Dinosaurs”. The coolest suit show EVER! Since then, Mich has enjoyed 26 more years of Muppets and other neat things with puppets and motion capture. He has loved every minute of the trip. Rickey Boyd Rickey's interest in animation and puppetry began at an early age. At eleven, he and one of his friends produced their own crude TV puppet shows at a local cable access station and experimented with 8mm animated short films. During High School he continued designing and building his own puppet characters. Later, he attended Shorter College in Rome, Georgia where he majored in art and theater. During an internship at a local cable station he worked with college classmates Keith Thomas and Jeff Brown to produce two children's shows that featured his creations. This provided valuable monitor experience as well as enough footage for a demo reel. That reel would land him an audition with the Muppets. In 1988 he was interviewed by Jane Henson then met and auditioned for Jim Henson himself. He was asked to continue working with Jim Henson Productions as both an assistant and as a featured performer on various productions. He went on to performed various background characters on Sesame Street, The Abby in Wonderland special, Grandma Cookie Monster for Sesame Workshop's “Sesame Beginnings” project, Scooter and Crazy Harry in “Muppet's Wizard of Oz”, and Waffle in “Animal Jam”. Other projects include “Muppets From Space”, “Dinosaurs” the series, “Muppetvision 3D”, “Muppets at Disney World”, “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles”, The Jim Henson Hour's “Dog City” and “Song of the Cloud Forest”. Aside from Henson Productions, Rickey has performed lead characters for The Nashville Network's Peppercorn Productions. Most recently he continues to puppeteer as Doug the Slug in “The Slugs and Bugs Show” for RightNow Media, and as “George” in the web series “Wondermore” for In Touch Ministries. In addition to performing Rickey is an Emmy winning Creative Director for Magnetic Dreams Animation Studios in Nashville, Tn. There, he designs and directs animations for clients such as “Sesame Street”, among others. He lives outside Nashville with his wife Judy and their children Emily and Andrew. John E. Kennedy John E. Kennedy is a lifelong puppeteer who began performing at age three and met and worked with Jim Henson at the age of 22. He has been a member of Sesame Street since 1994, and currently performs The Amazing Mumford, a character originated by Jerry Nelson. John has also been a Muppet™ performer on projects such as Muppets From Space, The Muppets Wizard of Oz, The Muppets Take the Bowl, and The Muppets Take the O2. He has authored two puppet-making books (Puppet Mania and Puppet Planet), and has been a puppet captain, a choreographer, and a musician. As a puppet builder, Kennedy has represented Jim Henson's exhibits around the world with his puppet kits; he has also instructed young puppeteers on cruises, camps, and festivals. He lives in Ocoee, Florida with his wife, Julie, and creates custom puppet characters for theme parks and performs music with his band, Johnny K Band. Who doesn't love Pooh Bear? This week, we're revisiting one of my favorite shows - The New Adventures of Winnie the Pooh. This show aired on ABC/Disney channel from 1988 - 1991. It was originally marketed to preschool aged kids, but it's just as fun to watch as an adult - at least, I think so. If you have any kind of soft spot for Pooh, I can't recommend this show more. Happy listening!

In this episode we discuss: her thoughts on leadership “A leader helps us see our bigger mission, a bigger purpose, and feel inspired to go for it.” how being bullied in middle school made her realize the world doesn't really want you to be yourself. the impact of her dad's “4 + 1” pep talk after high school and how it affected her life. the start and fail of her very first business and her thoughts on failure. her brilliant idea, a subscription service for women, and why it didn't work. how working for the Oscars completely changed the path of the Socialite Agency. her PUB method - being personal, useful, and brief when connecting with new people and potential clients. how altering your reality into believing the things you want are going to happen can change the trajectory of your business. her realization that the pandemic has put people into two categories; waiting for things to be over/get better or creating new things. Episode #171 - Yan Liu, Co-Founder & CEO of TVision. It is a golden era of television. There is a tremendous amount of amazing content out there across the major TV networks and subscription services like Netflix, Amazon Prime, Hulu, Disney Plus, Apple TV+, and more. It's hard to keep up with it all. You might be familiar with the Nielsen TV ratings system which measures what television programs people are watching. It hs been around for many years, but it really hasn't evolved with how consumers actually watch TV and advertising only works if people are actually paying attention to it. This is where TVision comes into play. They are a TV performance metrics company and their technology measures what was once unmeasurable - how people really watch TV. They are collecting unique viewability and attention data, which in return helps brands and agencies maximize their advertising budgets. The company has raised over $24M in venture funding. In this episode of our podcast, we cover: * How the pandemic is affecting viewership and what it means for the media industry. * The story of Yan's first company which pivoted from a women's underwear eCommerce company to an interactive agency. * How TVision got started at MIT Sloan after the idea was validated by 20 industry experts. * All the details on TVision in terms of how they are disrupting the TV performance metrics industry, plus how they landed ABC Disney as an early customer. * Why you should hire based on culture & character, versus skillset. * What a viral show like Tiger King means for Netflix's business. * And so much more. Disclaimer: Keith Cline is an angel investor in TVision. Not that it matters all that much, as this interview is like all of his other interviews, but just wanted to disclose it upfront. If you like the show, please remember to subscribe and review us on iTunes, Soundcloud, Spotify, Stitcher, or Google Play.

Face to face with another individual, we have the opportunity to see their body language, tone, eye movement, and many other non-verbal queues that clue us into how to best interact. Translating your offline persona and style into the digital arena isn't always the easiest when these subtleties are left out. I know I've certainly experienced this, and maybe you have too. When equipped with the proper strategy and etiquette, the digital space can seem a lot less intimidating and it's a heck of a lot easier to feel like you're being you. My guest today, Erin Gargan, is an award-winning entrepreneur, Amazon best-selling author, and digital persuasion expert. She sold her first two companies, Jump Digital Media and PMS.com before the age of 30. In 2010, she founded Socialite Agency, a social media firm whose clients include The Oscars, ABC/Disney, VISA, Target, Siemens, Hitachi, and others. She is the author of Digital Persuasion: Sell Smarter in the Modern Marketplace. Erin helps sales, marketing, and event professionals attract attention and increase influence by becoming more effective digital communicators. We unpack Erin's story, what it takes to be successful in being heard in outbound marketing and the digital area, and the nitty-gritty of Digital Persuasion. In this episode you'll learn How to translate your offline persona into the online space What the online disinhibition effect tells us about why we behave the way we do online How to make better decisions before we post What persuasion is The way other people perceive us online and being more of a server or a friend The goal of ethical persuasion and moving people to action How to widdle down your message and what skill to focus on And MORE…

Picture from www.richardsilverstein.com Bryan Singer - since we have recorded this podcast, has been fired from his Freddy Mercury biopic and it seems that this has also given way to Fox selling their film and TV stuff to ABC/Disney. This episode of Compelled, we talk about Bryan Singer and the allegations of his sexual assault and harassment of young men in Hollywood. There have been rumors and innuendo for years about his misconduct and Singer has remained, until this past week - 12/7/2017, unscathed by anything. Is that all about to change? Update - Seems that Singer is being sued by one of his accusers for sexual misconduct and assault. Also, that picture is Bryan and some "friends"

Who is John DiResta? John DiResta is the real deal. He was raised on the rough and tumble streets of Long Island, where all he did was drink beer, listen to heavy metal and make fun of people. If you got mocked by John DiResta then you were in with the in crowd. After dropping out of two colleges (New Paltz and Nassau Community) John took the New York City Police Exam. On July 15th, 1986 John was sworn into the worst police department in the history of the world, the New York City Transit Police. For the next 12 years John stood in a puddle of hot human piss in the Coney Island Stillwell Station, alone, with no partner, with a radio that might work if he was lucky. The motto of the Transit Police was 'you ride, we hide.' John had nine arrests in twelve years. His gun was so rusted shut that he would have had to throw it at a perp to take him down. The only thing that made John's job interesting was his homeless friends, with no one else to talk to John became buddies with hundreds of bums in the New York City Subway. In 1992 John started his comedy career in the bowels of the New York comedy circuit. Five years later his one man show, BEAT: A Subway Cop's Comedy, open to raved reviews. The New York Times called him "UPROARIOUS!" John quickly signed a huge development deal with ABC/Disney. John quit the police department and moved his wife and three kids to the west coast. In the fall of 1998 John's sitcom, 'DiResta', launched on the UPN Network. John then went on to secure very big rolls in the movies Miss Congeniality and 15 Minutes with Robert De Niro. During that period John made two very memorable appearences on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno and the Howard Stern Show. In the spring of 2004 John's show, Trash to Cash, premiered on the FX Network. John then went on to star in How To Loose a Guy in Ten Days and Miss Congeniality Two. In the fall of 2007 John began work on his next two TV adventures: American Body Shop was on Comedy Central for one year and Hammered lasted two seasons on HGTV/DIY Networks. John currently lives on both coasts, spending his time in both the San Fernando Valley and in New York City. He travels the world as a killer live stand up and can be seen coming to a town near you. When not on the road John can be found in his North Hollywood Hills shop fabricating his unique rustic furniture and artwork. John DiResta has been around the block, twice. John DiResta is a true comedic mixed martrial artist of the highest order; on TV, on film or live on stage, John gets it done. John DiResta is the funniest human being that ever lived. During the first phase of her professional life, she "worked real hard to get to where she didn't want to be". And, while her resume was filled with household names and familiar brands (Sony, Universal, and Turner Broadcasting), she found herself needing the personal growth and experiential change that corporate America could not offer. In her 40s, she began making the shifts and adjustments that would help her to live-out the life that she knew was waiting for her - she bought a house, left her marriage, walked away from her corporate gig, and at age 47, published her first book. Unorthodox? Perhaps. However, she learned that she is resilient and resourceful through dramatic midlife changes. Libby Gill joins us on the show to share five solid steps that will help you JUMPSTART your second half. Golden nuggets from the show: Libby questioned what deeply held beliefs and limiting assumptions that resulted in a career that was gratifying in some ways, but didn't speak to her soul any longer. "You can write your way into your next level of life." Coming from a very dysfunctional family, Libby adapted and learned to serve others, but realized she has her own voice, as well. "I do have something to say, not everyone resonates with me, but there are enough people who are interested." "When we have too many options, we tend to get overwhelmed and shut down." She was not only the first Nickelodeon live action fellow, but was also accepted to the Disney/ABC writing fellowship. Tamiko Brooks earned a Bachelor of Arts degree from Columbia College Chicago. After graduation, she headed west to L.A., and got a job as an assistant on the TV sitcom, Moesha. Under the mentorship of some of the writers, Tamiko began writing spec sitcoms and ultimately received her first writing credit in 1999 with an episode of Moesha. Soon after, Tamiko was accepted to the first year of the Nickelodeon Writing Fellowship, along with former podcast interviewee Courtney Lilly. She was relocated to Orlando, FL to work on the Nick sitcom, Taina. After that, she became an ABC/Disney writing fellow. As a result, she was placed on the sitcom, 8 Simple Rules for Dating My Teenage Daughter. The head writer was so impressed with her that he hired her on staff, and she was with the show for two seasons until its cancellation. Tamiko was then hired as a writer on Half & Half. Additionally, Tamiko has written freelance assignments for The Proud Family and the daytime drama One Life to Live.
