He received the Specialist in Music degree from the University of Michigan, Master of Arts in Music from the University of Iowa, and Bachelor of Music from Ball State University. His primary teachers were David Greenhoe, Richard Giangiulio, and Armando Ghitalla. Mr. Daniel previously held tenured positions at Penn State University and Abilene Christian University. While attending the University of Michigan on full scholarship, he won the graduate concerto award and was principal trumpet of orchestras in Ann Arbor and Saginaw, Michigan.Mr. Daniel served as principal trumpet with the San Angelo Symphony Orchestra and Abilene Philharmonic Orchestra for nine years and has performed with the San Antonio Symphony, Pennsylvania Ballet Orchestra, Palm Beach Opera, New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, and Music at Penn's Woods Orchestra, as well as on Broadway for revivals of Annie Get Your Gun and Gypsy. Welcome our guest: soprano Amanda Woodbury. A native of Crestwood, Kentucky, soprano Amanda Woodbury has been praised by the San Francisco Chronicle as having a voice that is “bright, beautifully colored, and full of strength and passion.” The 2021 – 2022 season sees Ms. Woodbury's debut with the Glyndebourne Festival to sing Countess in the Michael Grandage production of Le nozze di Figaro. Ms. Woodbury also returns to the Metropolitan Opera to sing Une voix d'en haut in a new production of the original five act French version of Don Carlos, and cover the title role in Rodelinda. She also made her house debut as Micaëla in Carmen with Palm Beach Opera. Orchestral engagements include Handel's Messiah with the United States Naval Academy.
Ian Rucker is a baritone from Oshkosh, WI, under the tutelage of Carol Vaness. Ian graduated with his Masters Degree in Vocal Performance from Indiana University's Jacobs School of Music last spring. He is coming to Palm Beach Opera after a summer as a Renée Fleming Artist at the Aspen Summer Music Festival. He lived in Aspen, Colorado for two months and was featured in weekly masterclasses, concerts, and recitals. It was there that he was able to work with many well-renowned performers, coaches, and conductors in the opera, classical music, and musical theatre community. Ian was an avid performer at the Jacobs School of Music, being featured as Count Almaviva in The Marriage of Figaro in 2019, Figaro in The Barber of Seville in 2020, and most recently Papageno in The Magic Flute in September of 2021. It was at his undergrad at the University of Wisconsin - Eau Claire, under the instruction of Kenneth Pereira, that he found his love for the spotlight. He performed roles in both Opera and Musical Theatre productions: The title roles in both Don Giovanni and Sweeney Todd, Officer Lockstock in Urinetown, and Ernst Ludwig in Cabaret. Within the past year, Ian has had some success in vocal competitions. He was awarded an Encouragement Award in the Metropolitan Opera National Council Audition - WI District, and took 1st place in the James Toland Vocal Arts Competition. Javier Orman is a violinist, composer, producer and teacher originally from Uruguay and based in Chicago. He received his Master’s degree in Music from the University of Michigan and Bachelor’s in Music and Mathematics from the College of Charleston with full academic scholarships. Over the last 6 years, he has been writing, recording and performing with his violin-and-guitar duo KOZM, described as “the most rock ’n’ roll pair of classically trained musicians working today” by 21st Century Musician. He enjoys collaborating with great artists from all genres, including hip-hop singer/producer Skylar Grey, Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Duncan Sheik and Classical crossover pianist Christopher O’Riley (NPR’s From the Top). Javier also produces electronic music as solo artist MLTFTR, inspired by literary and visual aesthetics of urban dystopias and retrowave musicians such as Com Truise, Tokimonsta and Home. Javier has been teaching violin for 12 years in a variety of traditions including Classical, Rock and American Fiddle. He has guest-lectured and offered master-classes at the University of Wisconsin, College of William & Mary, Sphinx Performance Academy, Montecito Music Festival and others. In 2009, he founded Kidzymphony, a children’s orchestra program in Charleston, South Carolina, modeled after Venezuela’s El Sistema. When Javier’s not performing or teaching, he enjoys arranging and recording strings for artists and producers such as Blänk, Essen Hiort and Cubeatz, as well as composing for video-games. A former winner in 2012 of Placido Domingo’s prestigious Operalia competition and of the Metropolitan Opera National Council Auditions, American soprano, Janai Brugger, begins the 2015-16 season as Michaela Carmen at Washington National Opera, and sings the role again later in the season at Lyric Opera of Kansas. Identified by Opera News as one of their top 25 “brilliant young artists” (October 2015 issue), Janai joins the Metropolitan Opera for their Rising Stars concert series and makes several US concert appearances during the season, along with various recital performances. She makes her debut as Norina Don Pasquale at Palm Beach Opera, and returns to Los Angeles Opera to revive the role of Musetta La Boheme which she sings under the baton of Gustavo Dudamel. If you’ve seen theatre or opera in Tampa Bay, you’ve probably seen a production Keith Arsenault helped bring to life. A skilled lighting designer, set designer, theatre tech consultant and arts administrator, Keith is the resident lighting designer of the St Pete Opera, runs HCC Ybor’s beautiful Performing Arts Center, has worked as a voiceover artist, theatrical producer and circus ringmaster, and served on the staff of The Joffrey Ballet, the Opera Company of Boston, Palm Beach Opera and Nacional Ballet de Colombia. His theatrical work has taken him to 45 states and across Canada and Latin America, and he’s the winner of Creative Loafing Best of the Bay Awards for both Lighting and Scenic Design. Keith talks with Barbara St. Clair about growing up in a family rooted in theatre and dance. He shares the imaginative work of lighting design and the fascinating details of Tampa’s participation in the Federal Theatre Project in the 1930s, the one city in the U.S. that had both an English and a Spanish language company. Today we had the pleasure of talking to David Adam Moore. Cindy worked with David at Portland Opera where David was the Video Designer for "Faust". Though the first time she met him, he was doing a slightly different role. He was rehearsing the part of The Count for the "Marriage of Figaro" at Palm Beach Opera. David grew up in South East Texas and is a 6th generation musician. His father was a back up singer and bass player for County singer Tracy Byrd and David still considers his father a superior musician. David has come a long way from performing in his church easter service. Guest: World Famous Opera Star Fernando Del Valle and Rapper/Writer Arell. Born in New Orleans of Hungarian-Spanish origin, tenor Fernando del Valle has sung extensively in the United States, Europe, South America and Canada. He went on to win the ‘Bel Canto Competition of Chicago' which enabled him to move to Europe and study with legendary Tenor, Carlo Bergonzi. In 1997 his performances included Don José at the Gran Teatro La Fenice in Venice and Teatro Carlo Felice di Genoa, Pinkerton in MADAMA BUTTERFLY for Palm Beach Opera and FAUST in Colmar near Strasbourg. Arell (pronounced RL) is a producer/songwriter/singer and Rapper who has been writing and producing R&B and hip hop tracks since the mid 90's. Vocal arrangement is a strong suit for the producer, but he knows how to make tracks and write songs that are relevant to everyday life. Currently, the Cincinnati born and raised producer is working on his second solo project that displays not only his music production and engineering skills, but songwriting skills as well. His production company, Lion King Productions is about making music that is innovative. Although Arell can sing and rap he is always looking for anyone who has talent to help create product that is new, exciting, relevant and profitable in today's industry.
Magdalena Wór is a First Place Winner of the Marcella Sembrich and Heinz Rehfuss Vocal Competitions, a Finalist and Prize Winner of the Moniuszko International Voice Competition, a Metropolitan Opera Competition National Finalist, as well as an alumna of the San Francisco Opera’s Merola Summer Opera Program, Chautauqua Music Institution’s Marlena Malas Voice Program, St. Louis Opera Theatre’s Gerdine Young Artist Program, and the Washington National Opera’s Domingo-Cafritz Young Artist Program. This past season Ms. Wór’s performaces included Cherubino in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro with the Ashlawn Opera Festival, Haydn’s Lord Nelson Mass with the National Philharmonic, Handel’s Messiah with the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra, title role in Bizet’s Carmen with the Palm Beach Opera and a concert in London celebrating Chopin’s 200th Birth Anniversary. Magdalena is originally from Poland and has lived in the United States since 1991. She received her Bachelor and Masters degrees in vocal performance from Georgia State University and studies with Magdalena Moulson-Falewicz.
