JOST Werke SE delivered a resilient performance in FY 2025 despite a mixed macroeconomic backdrop across global commercial vehicle markets. While freight volumes and trailer registrations normalized in parts of Europe and North America, structural demand drivers such as fleet renewal, efficiency requirements, and regulatory standards remained intact.Revenue remained stable, supported by geographic diversification and a broad product portfolio spanning truck and trailer systems, axle solutions, and agricultural components. The company maintained a solid adjusted EBITDA margin, demonstrating strong pricing discipline and cost control. Operating and free cash flow generation remained robust, underlining JOST's structural cash-generative profile.Margin stability in a moderating demand cycle reflects operational improvements implemented in recent years, including supply chain optimization, procurement efficiencies, and production flexibility. Agricultural and aftermarket activities provided additional resilience, while strong OEM relationships across Europe, North America, and Asia supported global positioning. The balance sheet remains solid, with controlled leverage, a healthy equity ratio, and continued deleveraging. Capital allocation stays disciplined, prioritizing organic growth, selective M&A, and sustainable shareholder returns.Strategically, JOST focuses on efficiency programs, digitalization, lightweight components, and sustainability-driven innovation. Electrification and evolving safety standards in commercial transport represent long-term growth opportunities.Overall, FY 2025 confirms JOST's ability to navigate cyclical fluctuations while protecting margins and cash flow — reinforcing its positioning as a structurally improved, financially disciplined industrial supplier within global transport supply chains.▶️ Other videos: Elevator Pitch: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-elevator-pitch/ Company Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-company-presentation/ Deep Dive Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-deep-dive/Financial Results Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-financial-results/ ESG Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-esg/ T&C This publication is intended solely for informational purposes and does not constitute investment advice.

It's not often that I'm stumped by a folk song, but this is one tricky little character. It is also beautiful, graceful and weirdly catchy... and extremely elusive. Nonetheless, there's quite a bit to say about land, class and medieval shepherdesses, though surprisingly little about parted lovers. Given the setting and context, romantic heartbreak suddenly doesn't feel like the end of the world.Somehow we end up in Scotland, though only tentatively, and discover a mystery. But then we get to hear the song itself which, as ever, is balm to the soul.MusicA clip of Bridget Tunney singing As I Roved Out. Greenhushing, Communication, and Stakeholder Engagement for Endowments with Lane Jost In this crossover episode of The Future of Finance and Beyond Carbon, hosts Georges Dyer and Chris Ito sit down with Lane Jost, Head of Sustainability & Governance Advisory at Edelman Smithfield, for a candid conversation about the evolving ESG and sustainable investing landscape. Lane traces the arc of ESG from its “1.0” early days to today's politically charged environment, unpacking the dynamics of greenwashing, greenhushing, regulatory risk, and the often-confusing language that shapes public perception. They examine what this moment means for endowments, asset managers, and campus stakeholders, and discuss Edelman Smithfield's work with endowments on strategic communications strategies. Ultimately, the episode balances realism about political headwinds with optimism about market innovation, improved governance, and the long-term trajectory toward resilience and value creation. Guest Lane Jost – Head of Sustainability & Governance Advisory at Edelman Smithfield Background Lane Jost leads the Sustainability & Governance Advisory Practice at Edelman Smithfield, bringing 16 years of sustainability leadership across facilities management, financial services, and consulting. Previously, he served on PwC's national Responsible Business Leadership team, contributing to the firm's global net zero strategy. Lane has held senior ESG roles at Santander US and Sodexo USA, developing sustainability strategies and managing significant grant portfolios. He holds degrees from UC San Diego and Kenyon College. Conversation Green Hushing May Actually Be Beneficial - The pullback from aggressive ESG marketing forces organizations to focus on substance over rhetoric, emphasizing rigorous processes and how ESG factors genuinely drive value and risk management. ESG Terminology Will Evolve, But Core Principles Remain - While "ESG" may fade within 3-5 years, evaluating material environmental, social, and governance factors remains fundamental to investment decisions regardless of political climate or terminology changes. Communications Must Align With Portfolio Management Reality - Strategic communications should be conservative, transparent, and grounded in fiduciary stewardship. Avoid making unvalidated claims, particularly given emerging regulatory risks around greenwashing in multiple jurisdictions. Context Matters: One Size Doesn't Fit All - Appropriate approaches vary by institution. Small liberal arts colleges have more latitude for impact investing, while large state universities face greater scrutiny. Mission and stakeholder context determine strategy. Educational Institutions Have Unique Teaching Opportunities - Universities should engage students in real-world discussions about balancing financial constraints, stakeholder pressures, climate risks, and portfolio construction—providing invaluable practical experience beyond traditional classroom learning.

When most people hear "bipolar", they think of a moody person. Sometimes they're unusually happy, sometimes they're the opposite. That's one of the reasons it can be so difficult to get people to take bipolar disorder seriously. Mania is not happiness, and depression is not unhappiness. Whereas happiness and unhappiness are normal, mania and depression are not, and they can mess your life up before you even realize it happened. You're also usually the last person to know if you have either, so make sure and pay attention to what people have to say.
Elevator Pitches, Company Presentations & Financial Results from Publicly Listed European Companies
JOST Werke SE 9M 2025: Key TakeawaysOverview of JOST Werke SE PerformanceJOST Werke SE, one of the world's leading suppliers of safety-critical components and systems for commercial vehicles, delivered a resilient performance in the first nine months of 2025. In this in-depth presentation, Romy Acosta, Head of Investor Relations, outlines the company's financial developments, market dynamics, regional trends and strategic outlook as JOST continues to strengthen its global competitive position.Solid Performance Despite a Mixed Market EnvironmentThe first nine months of 2025 were marked by significant volatility in the global commercial vehicle industry. Despite this, JOST demonstrated resilience, with OEM production levels returning to normal after two years of post-pandemic surge, and certain markets softening due to macro conditions, destocking cycles, and shifting order patterns.Against this backdrop, JOST delivered a stable revenue base and maintained strong profitability in its core business lines — particularly in Trailer Solutions and Components for the agricultural sector.Romy Acosta explains that JOST's diversified portfolio once again acted as a stabilizer. The company's broad regional footprint, balanced mix of OEM and aftermarket business and deep global customer relationships helped offset temporary demand weakness in selected geographies.Regional Trends Highlight JOST's Balanced ExposurePerformance varied significantly across regions, reflecting different economic and industry cycles:Europe remained the company's strongest platform, supported by solid trailer demand, resilient aftermarket activity and continued adoption of JOST's safety technologies.North America experienced a softer market environment, particularly on the truck-OEM side, where destocking and lower Class 8 build rates weighed on volumes.Asia and emerging markets provided selective growth impulses, particularly in India and Southeast Asia, where infrastructure spending and demand for agricultural machinery supported order patterns.Agricultural Solutions remained a relative outperformer, benefiting from structurally high demand for modern farming equipment and increasingly sophisticated coupling and hydraulic systems. This strategic balance across regions and segments is a key advantage for JOST Werke SE. It not only cushions against cyclical fluctuations but also paves the way for long-term growth, instilling confidence in our investors and stakeholders.Operational Discipline Supports ProfitabilityThroughout the period, JOST's operational discipline was a consistent theme, ensuring strong financial management and cost control.JOST maintained strong cost control, optimised working capital, and continued to realise efficiency gains from prior footprint adjustments and automation investments. In addition, the company benefitted from a healthier product mix with a larger share of value-added systems and electronically controlled components — areas where JOST enjoys strong pricing, margin resilience and technological leadership. The combination of disciplined execution and portfolio quality supported robust EBIT margins despite softer top-line momentum in individual markets.]▶️ Other videos: Elevator Pitch: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-elevator-pitch/ Company Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-company-presentation/ Deep Dive Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-deep-dive/ Financial Results Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-financial-results/ ESG Presentation: https://seat11a.com/investor-relations-esg/ T&C This publication is intended solely for informational purposes and does not constitute investment advice.

Why do states start conflicts that they ultimately lose? Why do leaders possess inaccurate expectations of their prospects for victory? Bureaucracies at War (Cambridge UP, 2024) examines how national security institutions shape the quality of bureaucratic information upon which leaders base their choice for conflict – which institutional designs provide the best counsel, why those institutions perform better, and why many leaders fail to adopt them. Author Tyler Jost argues that the same institutions that provide the best information also empower the bureaucracy to punish the leader. Thus, miscalculation on the road to war is often the tragic consequence of how leaders resolve the trade-off between good information and political security. Employing an original cross-national data set and detailed explorations of the origins and consequences of institutions inside China, India, Pakistan, and the United States, this book explores why bureaucracy helps to avoid disaster, how bureaucratic competition produces better information, and why institutional design is fundamentally political. Our guest is Tyler Jost, an assistant professor of political science and the Watson Institute Assistant Professor of China Studies at Brown University. Our host is Eleonora Mattiacci, an Associate Professor of Political Science at Amherst College. She is the author of "Volatile States in International Politics" (Oxford University Press, 2023). In this episode, we delve into the complex and ongoing journey of digital transformation in banking with two leading voices in the field: Don Free, formerly a lead analyst at Gartner, and Jost Hoppermann, formerly a lead analyst at Forrester. Now operating as independent experts at Angry Rabbit, Don and Jost bring candid insights into how digital transformation is unfolding across banking tiers and global regions. They explore why transformation cannot be treated as a one-off initiative but must instead become a core part of a bank's operating model. A central theme is composability; both its potential and its pitfalls. Jost explains why composable architecture often fails to live up to expectations, citing architectural complexity and poor integration as common stumbling blocks. Together they highlight recurring mistakes made by banks on the digital journey, from ‘honeymoon trust' in vendors, to superficial ‘core cloning', to inadequate data governance. They argue for a more adaptive, evolutionary approach that blends strategic planning with flexible, modular architecture. The conversation is a timely reminder that digital transformation is not a destination. It is an ongoing, adaptive process essential for keeping pace with technological shifts and regulatory change.

Jost Kobusch is just back from Everest, where he is doing a multi-year project to climb the tallest mountain in the world... by himself... without oxygen... up the incredibly difficult West Ridge route in the middle of winter. In winter, the effective altitude of Everest is over 9,000 meters, and the winds can reach 250 km/hour (155 mph). And - on top of that - the mountain was hit by a powerful earthquake while he was on it. Find out... How Jost Kobusch optimises his training The relative importance of physical vs mental attributes in extreme sport How he overcame a potentially career-ending injury The dichotomy of fitness vs experience for maximum performance What it's like to be a full-time athlete Jost's best advice for someone who is considering an Everest climb! During a recent episode of SNL's Weekend Update, Colin Jost appeared to be taken aback by the audience cheering when he mentioned the name “Luigi Mangione,” responding by suggesting that the “woohoo's” were for justice. Jost, along with other stalwart defenders of the ruling class like Piers Morgan, have fired back at anyone offering even a modicum of support for Mangione or for suggesting there was any justification for the killing of a health insurance CEO. Jimmy and Americans' Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss whether Jost was just feigning dismay and how so many others who seem to understand much of the truth obscured by mainstream media narrative fail to grasp why anyone would defend Mangione. Plus segments on Candace Owens' recent schooling of Piers Morgan over Netanyahu's plans for Gaza, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky's recent attempts to bribe the Slovakian President into voting for Ukraine's entry into NATO and CNN's dismay over Americans' plummeting belief in the efficacy of vaccines. Also featuring Stef Zamorano!
