In this episode, Peter Joseph critiques the pervasive belief in competition as a beneficial force for personal development, creativity, and societal progress. Drawing on research by Alfie Kohn and Daniel Pink, he argues that competition actually hinders creative problem-solving and distorts human motivation. Joseph explores how monetary rewards and the market economy create narrow, self-serving goals that undermine genuine innovation. He also discusses the harmful effects of market-driven incentives, such as planned obsolescence, and the interconnectedness of industries that profit from maintaining problems rather than solving them. In episode 51 of Revolution Now, Peter Joseph discusses sociological causality and its profound influence on human behavior. He emphasizes that systemic change, especially in the economy, is necessary to alter behavior, and activism must focus on changing the system itself, not just individual minds. He also explains the difference between internal and external system regulation, and hence the importance of cybernetic self-regulation, while offering a critique regarding the inefficiency of government regulation in managing market forces, noting that market dynamics, driven by money, overpower democratic efforts to correct issues like environmental degradation and inequality. This is not a side effect. The money-power feedback loop is far more powerful than the market-instability-regulatory loop and even democracy itself, making workable regulation toward homeostasis or balance impossible. Be Here Now under Maharajji's blanket as Baba Here Love and Marcus Rummery discuss Peter Joseph being The One, Dogs, Consciousness, Being Funny Now, InterReflections the BEST FILM EVER, Time, and the Oneness of it ALL. It is all applied to our spiritual awakening. “And you just have to be very honest about your predicament. You can't be phony. Phony holy isn't going to get us there, in other words, you don't go dramatically changing everything once you get a new value in your head, because you're doing it with a certain kind of attachment of mind that's going to cause you to have a reaction to it anyway. So don't get voluntary-simple too soon. Our guest today is Peter Joseph, who's a client of ours from the Reality Mastery program. Within 6 months of us working together, Peter was able to grow his business from standstill revenue to over $50k/m (and did all of this amidst the pandemic!) Make sure you watch this in full as it's packed in value! Here's what we discuss: Peter's journey before the program Why Peter invested in another “mindset” program The big challenge he had to overcome: maintaining consistency in state Navigating through uncertainty: how he did it and came out in success Making uncomfortable decisions: Why it was crucial for him and what helped him make them Going from action rooted in resistance to effortless action Hope this was helpful! The opportunity to sit down with Peter Joseph is a unique chance to capture a moment in time with one of the great thinkers of our generation. His first breakthrough film "Zeitgeist: The Movie" in 2007 was an unexpected success and he founded The Zeitgeist Movement on the back of his 2nd film "Zeitgeist: Addendum." Peter proceeded to release two additional films and produced a satirical Web series called Culture in Decline. Engineering a leaderless movement is a conundrum itself, which is why Peter rarely does interviews and instead prefers to let the movement ideals speak for themselves. In order to understand all of the tenets of The Zeitgeist Movement I recommend reading the TZM Defined Book available here http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com/o.... What's next for Peter? He has been busy working on a live-action genre with his InterReflections Trilogy expected in the next few years. After producing works of documentary and satire, we can expect a new angle. As Peter says, "The beauty of art is that it sneaks behind your ego."
Futurist and Legendary Creator Jacque Fresco travels from Florida to London to discuss The Venus Project, his candid conversation with Albert Einstein as a young boy, what happened with Peter Joseph and The Zeitgeist Movement, how the Great Depression developed his mindset, and what he would do if elected President of the United States.
Jacque Fresco talks about his young years, how he became the way he is, about spirituality, about Great Depression, about how he met Peter Joseph and why all this shit's got to go! The film is edited by Igor Mukhin. Original footage was shot by Charlie Veitch. 3D-Images at the end done by Andrew Buxton from designs of Jacque Fresco. Music at the end is by Ronald Jenkees - Stay Crunchy (Wolf-e-Wolf Dubstep Remix) The Venus Project http://www.thevenusproject.com
I still remember the day in August 2012 when Futurist Jacque Fresco and his partner Roxanne Meadows of the Venus Project came to our studios for London Real episode #47. After accepting my offer to pick them up I headed off to Waterloo station with camera crew in tow to record the arrival of one of our century's great thinkers. After nearly getting arrested by the transit authority for recording video in a public station, I was soon struck by the resilience of Jacque Fresco: this man of 96 years demonstrated a quick wit and a mind sharp as a tack. For the next hour we were left alone with Jacque (thank you for trusting us Roxanne) and explored everything from his relationship with Peter Joseph of the Zeitgeist Movement to his thoughts on the Resource Based Economy to the basic tenets of the Venus Project. Little did we know that this episode would soon become one of our most popular and defining episodes of London Real with over 200,000 views. Recently celebrating his 98th birthday Jacque Fresco shows no signs of slowing down and you can still visit him and Roxanne Meadows at the Venus Project in Florida where they give 4 hour lectures every week on Saturdays. They are also working on a documentary film which you can learn more about it and donate by visiting The Venus Project Homepage. Jacque Fresco has a uncanny way of transcending age, race, culture, and nationality that I still can't quite explain. Perhaps it is the fact that he has spent a lifetime dedicated to a message and truth that has never been fashionable or popular without ever giving up.
This ain't clickbait, folks! This is quite literally my favorite folk artist, hands down. I know my fair share of folk/acoustic music - though I am not a connoisseur by any means. Faint Peter however is undoubtedly one of the best folk musicians I've ever come across. Further, he's a FRIEND of mine. We were first introduced through his music and ever since we've stayed in touch since we were both musicians. Obviously it was a matter of time before he was on the podcast. Curious about what kinda folk BP listens to?! Don't blame ya. Enjoy this convo!
Daniel Pinchbeck speaks with Peter Joseph, director of Zeitgeist and its sequels. Joseph's Zeitgeist was as the "red pill" for a generation, leading millions to question the basic story of their culture. His new book, The New Human Rights Movement, proposes that our current economic system is inherently destructive and offers a set of compelling solutions. Joseph's ideas are fascinating and the book is a must read! Recorded at The Assemblage, a co-working and co-living community based in New York City
Lee Camp Is A Comedian & National TV Host Lee Camp is the head writer and host of the national TV show Redacted Tonight with Lee Camp on RT America. He's a former contributor to The Onion, former staff humor writer for the Huffington Post, and his web series “Moment of Clarity” has been viewed by millions. He's toured the country and the world with his fierce brand of standup comedy, and George Carlin's daughter Kelly said he's one of the few comics keeping her father's torch lit. Bill Hicks's brother Steve said Lee is one of only a handful with Bill's “message and passion.” In a recent interview Bill Hicks's brother Steve Hicks was asked whether he had favorite comedians who were inspired by Bill. Here is what he said: “I know Doug Stanhope is often cited as someone in the vein of Bill; Lee Camp and Jamie Kilstein are two others in the US that are carrying on with the message and the passion. Although I know they are admirers of Bill, it is important to note that they are their own people doing it their own way. All three of these are very good and I think anyone out there who is actually ‘trying to do Bill' falls very flat. You can't copy someone that was such an individual and these three guys aren't doing that. It's just in the spirit maybe but they are all excellent doing it their way, which is how it should be.” “This up-and-coming US star is already developing a reputation for fearless political comedy, with some calling him an heir to the crown of the late, great George Carlin. He gets our seal of approval.” –Time Out Sydney “Gets the crowd roaring!” –Rolling Stone “For those comedy fans still in mourning for Bill Hicks 18 years on, you'll find plenty to enjoy in the work of DC-born stand-up Lee Camp. Like Hicks, Camp has a visceral disregard for big business and big politics, and speaks his mind on everything from abortion rights to the evils of the modern media. However, where Hicks was more of a commentator who stayed above the fray, Camp is much closer to British activist-comics like Mark Thomas, a real-life serial protester.” –The Guardian “Like Jon Stewart from the Daily Show but with sharper teeth.” –the Herald “What if all the baggage and bullshit of our society were absorbed into the conscience of one man? A man who refused to accept this ‘Normality' we wade through…what kind of time-bomb would emerge? Well, as Evolution would have it in its process of Self-Correction, Lee Camp is that embodied ‘Time-Bomb of Reason' – ready to destroy anything that seeks to pollute our culture and restrict our possibility as a species.” –Peter Joseph (creator of the Zeitgeist Movement) “Lee Camp is an integral part of a longstanding satirical tradition. He has the rare ability to make you laugh and think simultaneously.” –Paul Krassner “Lee is the Che Guevara of comedy. Congrats to him on his balls and integrity. Everything he does is SO good. We need more comedians with his kind of fearlessness. It's so rare to find such artful, thoughtful passion in comedy these days. …or in life. He's waiting for a generation to catch up with him.” –Paul Provenza “Lee is totally inspiring. I kinda wanna be like him when I grow up.” –Rain Pryor (actor, comedian, daughter of Richard Pryor) “Lee Camp has found the hole in America's brain where reason has been replaced by Wal-Mart. Lee's rants channel the gunk oozing out. You have to admit, that's why he's so fucking funny.” — Greg Palast “One night I attended a Laughing Liberally comedy show. There was one funny comedian there – Lee Camp.” –Matt Labash (Conservative reporter for the right-wing publication The Weekly Standard) Website Link:
