"Looking for advice on how to move forward after losing a house in a wildfire. I am a 32 year old man with a wife and one year old daughter. My family all got out safely, and thank God for that. House was a total loss."I am now working with our insurance company on a claim and will be working to rebuild. I am thankful my daughter is probably not old enough to remember this or feel any sense of loss over the house. For her it will be a cool story when she gets older. But there was a ton of sentimentally valuable stuff in there that is irreplaceable, like my wife's wedding dress and a bunch of other wedding related things, probably a hundred books marked up with my personal notes and underlines while I was reading them, and much more."I am also thankful to have a good church community and a lot of people who are eager to help us get back on our feet. This is the most devastating disaster I've ever experienced. How do I get it together and move forward from this? How do I keep my wide comforted and make sure she is okay? How do I get my mind right for navigating insurance claims and the rebuilding process? Any help from philosophy would be appreciated."GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In this episode, I follow up on "Philosophy vs OnlyFans! Listener Debate" (https://fdrpodcasts.com/5984/philosophy-vs-sex-workers-listener-debate) with some more thoughts. I examine pride and genetic predisposition, addressing whether one should take pride in achievements influenced by genetics. While recognizing the genetic basis of traits like IQ, I stress the significance of personal agency and moral choices, illustrated through a scenario of decision-making in danger. I discuss the variability of human traits and the ethical implications of our choices, arguing against genetic determinism.I also confront the philosophical issues around death and the modern healthcare system's impact on quality of life. Advocating for thoughtful discourse, I highlight the importance of recognizing the societal consequences of life extension. "You made a point in your recent call in with the OnlyFans woman that women shouldn't feel accomplished for making money from selling their images on OnlyFans because they haven't earned their beauty. However, as you do well know IQ is 80% genetic and becomes more genetic as you get older. You Stef yourself experienced a childhood that would be the model of creating a homeless drug addict living in the street, however you did not become a drug addict or homeless, in fact you became a very successful businessman both as a former software executive and also now as a self-employed philosopher. So despite all the environmental odds being against you as a poor child living in a home with an absent father and a dysfunctional mother; you achieved great success, and your success stems not from your environment but your high IQ and your work ethic, both of which are largely genetic, in fact just as much genetic as women who have big boobs, perfect facial structure and peachy booty is also genetic. Now there is some environmental tailoring that can be done such as going to the gym or working hard, however work ethic is also largely genetic. Interestingly, I would in fact argue that that a persons physical body is actually less genetically determined than a persons IQ; the amount of physical transformation a woman's body can go through from the gym is more extreme than anything a person could attempt to do to increase their IQ. Jordan Peterson said there is nothing that can be done to increase IQ. So the point of all this backstory is to ask ‘Why do you think women selling photos of themselves is not good because they haven't earned it, they just inherited it like winning the lottery?.' You yourself didn't earn your high IQ and pretty much everything a person does whether it is work ethic, personality is all driven largely by predetermined genetic factors. In extreme cases someone who is born with a high IQ can be totally destroyed by the environment to the point they can't read, but generally speaking apart from extreme cases everything a person does and every accomplishment a person has earned is the result of innate genetic inheritance. Thus, why would you say a woman hasn't earned her beauty shouldn't sell it when you Stef haven't earned your high IQ? Does this suggest a bias where you believe intellectual work; though just as much predetermined as a woman's physical appearance is superior to says OnlyFans work, and does this suggestion instigate any personal reflection in yourself that suggests the reason you are against women selling their beauty on OnlyFans and the like, is because you inherited a high IQ and as such you have a bias to do work that suits your natural genetic predisposition? Thus, would you acknowledge it is an inconsistent argument to make that women who make money from their genetic disposition is bad because they quote, ‘haven't earned it'?""- Sorry, risking life and limb to spread peaceful parenting and moral philosophy is the same as selling pictures of your butthole on the internet? Do you even hear yourself?""@freedomain I do not disagree with the claim that peaceful parenting has tremendous value for society, certainly more value than quote ,'butthole' pics. However, you did not make that claim in your conversation with the OnlyFans woman and that was not the claim I was disputing in my question. I was specifically disputing your claim that women haven't earned the ability to make money using their body because it's ‘unearned'. At 1hour:30min of your OnlyFans woman call-in you said Quote:"‘I think that we end up happier if we get paid for things that just aren't accidental to us'."You then said to the OnlyFans caller ‘You did not earn your body'. Again this is a bad argument because a lot of people put a lot of work in the gym and dieting to get an amazing body so your assumption that OnlyFans women didn't earn their body is in many cases false. I've noticed from my experience at the gym, that women who have a great perfect butt are far more common in the gym then you would expect to find by chance by walking around in random public places. I'm certain there is a type of perfect peachy ideal female butt that certain women have that is largely the result of hard work in the gym, not solely the result because genetics are also involved of course, but an enhanced female butt is certainly the result of hard work in the gym based on my own first-hand observations of women in the gym. However, the main problem with your argument is that - All abilities whether it is the height of a basketball player, the strength of a bricklayer, the petite stature of a ballerina or the mental ability of a philosopher stems from inate 'unearned' genetic factors. Thus, a woman has just as much right to sell photos of her ‘butthole', as a computer programmer has the right to use their high IQ to earn money. So this specific argument you were making in the call-in was a bad argument for all the reasons I have listed herein. You could make the argument that ‘tits and ass' pics add no value to society, but on the contrary philosophy and peaceful parenting does, however you did not make that argument in your call-in. I was simply pointing out in my question that you used a flawed argument rather than a good argument during your recent OnlyFans woman call-in. I think you should add a prelude to your OnlyFans call-in to let future viewers know that you presented a bad argument on this specific point. It's not a big deal because in a 2 plus hour convo you can miss what you may or may not have already said, however considering 10% of American women between 18-28 are already selling ‘tits and ass' pics on Onlyfans, you may see it Stef as your responsibility to provide a thorough argument as to why women shouldn't do OnlyFans rather than the flawed 'unearned' argument you presented in your recent OnlyFans call-in and apend it to the end of the call-in.""- She never talked about putting hours in the gym - she said she was just grew big breasts. Wednesday Night Live 4 June 2025In this episode, I explore themes of parenting, politics, relationships, morality, and personal integrity. I respond to a listener's question about children's literature, particularly Grimm's Fairy Tales, discussing their depth in familial dynamics. I share my reluctance to engage in contemporary political discourse, critiquing the trend of viewing integrity through a cult-like lens.We delve into modern relationship dynamics, noting how societal pressures can lead men to feel "on strike" regarding commitment. I argue for the importance of philosophy in understanding morality, challenging the idea that science alone can define ethical standards.Listeners can expect insights into the roots of dysfunctional relationship patterns linked to childhood experiences, highlighting the significance of self-worth and authenticity in connections. Summer can be great and it can be challenging as a parent. Our parenting strengths and weaknesses are on full display! In this replay episode, I give you the steps to help your child listen to you the first time. Children need to be taught to listen. And they're human, like us, so they naturally may not want to listen because they're busy with something else. This episode helps you teach them to listen so you won't have a summer of angry frustration and so your children can really enjoy their time with you! The lecture examines societal dynamics through property rights, scarcity, and abundance within statist systems, contrasting them with free societies. The speaker highlights the transition from hunting to agriculture, which formalizes property rights and fosters productivity and wealth. He discusses the emergence of societal stratification and its moral implications, emphasizing that unresolved wealth disparities can incite conflict. The impact of sophistry on rational thought is noted as a barrier to progress. Ultimately, the lecture advocates for a return to foundational truths about property rights to address modern inequities and promote equity.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In answering this series of questions from Facebook, Stefan explores the philosophical examination of love, emphasizing its connection to recognizing virtue in romantic partners. He shares personal anecdotes from his marriage, illustrating how mutual admiration for each other's virtues strengthens their relationship. Stef argues that enduring love stems from a deep appreciation of moral character, as opposed to transient physical attraction, and discusses the role of romantic love in pair bonding and transferring moral values to future generations. He distinguishes between love as a voluntary act versus an involuntary response to virtue, cautioning against manipulative expectations in relationships. Ultimately, Molyneux advocates for love grounded in virtue, suggesting it leads to deeper and more fulfilling connections.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025
It's one of the most heartbreaking things a parent can face—when your grown child cuts off communication. In this episode, we explore why this happens, what parents can do about it, and how perfectionism and performance-based love often push the very people we want to keep close... away. I'll share the surprising truth about what God never asked parents to carry, how to untangle what's yours from what's theirs, and how to shift from “being a good parent” to being a safe one. If you're grieving a fractured relationship or walking on eggshells, this is your invitation to heal—for your sake and theirs. In this thought-provoking episode, Kyle and Sara Wester challenge a common parenting goal: obedience. They explore why obedience might deliver quick results, but often at the cost of long-term connection, emotional development, and a child's capacity for critical thinking. Instead, they advocate for cooperation as a healthier, more empowering goal. Drawing from real-life examples and their work with families, Kyle and Sara share practical strategies to nurture trust, respect, and internal motivation in kids. They explain how cooperation builds emotional intelligence, strengthens relationships, and prepares children to become thoughtful, capable adults. Topic : Help, I'm Stuck!Topic Detail: Hello, Stefan,My name is [x]. I'm 26 years old and the fourth of five children born to two abusive parents. I moved out over a year ago, and since then, I've been living on my own and listening to your show. Over the past year, I've been processing and grieving my childhood. Your show has been incredibly helpful in identifying the true extent of the abuse I endured, understanding how to apply philosophy to my life, and learning how to be a peaceful parent. The impact it has had on my life is immeasurable.Right now, I find myself doing little outside of going to work. On weekends, I rarely leave my house except to run errands, play basketball at the park, or occasionally hang out in person with my Xbox friends. My biggest struggle at the moment is a porn addiction. Most weekends, I give in to the urge, which completely drains my energy, leaving the next few days as a write-off. This has been a major contributor to my social anxiety and inhibition when talking to women. It has defined my entire adult life.I've mostly DFOO'd, but I haven't truly confronted either of my parents. I feel like I've extracted as much knowledge, wisdom, and insight as I can from my childhood—yet I still think about it every day. And I'm sick of it.A real sense of mortality is setting in. I'm 26, single, and have few good memories to look back on. I do not want to turn 27 and still be in the same place. Life has been passing me by, and I know there's so much more out there. I hope that by talking to you, I can identify the root of my dysfunction and learn to move forward in life with confidence. I thirst for feedback, guidance, and an ally to help dislodge me from this perpetual cycle of self-destruction.Thank you for your time and consideration.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In this lecture, Stefan examines Ludovic Jullali's critique of anarcho-capitalism through the lens of Robert Nozick's philosophies. Jullali categorizes it as a "dangerous and contradictory doctrine," arguing that its intellectual shortcomings hinder its viability in practice. Jullali discusses natural rights, emphasizing the implications of mutual protection associations in a stateless society.Stefan contrasts voluntary private protection with state coercion, asserting that the competitive nature of markets limits any single agency's dominance. Stefan addresses economic inefficiencies of state systems and advocates for the evolution of protective agencies that prioritize prevention over reaction to crime. Throughout the lecture, he responds to critiques regarding external threats and competing legal systems, ultimately defending anarcho-capitalism as a framework that promotes individual rights and decentralized governance.Link to article: https://www.researchgate.net/publication/374088008_A_Criticism_of_Anarcho-CapitalismGET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In this episode, I examine the relationship between metaphysics and language, addressing listener questions about reality. I discuss Aristotle's metaphysics as a framework for understanding sensory experiences and differentiate between descriptive and prescriptive language. I explore the implications of psychosis and the necessity for accurate reality processing, then transition to epistemology, highlighting its role in discerning truth. A major focus is on contemporary language manipulation within Marxist ideologies and its potential to detach thought from reality.Through personal anecdotes and historical context, I illustrate how state structures foster dependency and hinder growth. I argue for the importance of responsibility and rejecting victimhood, concluding with a call for listeners to critically reflect on how language influences their understanding of reality and personal agency.GET MY NEW BOOK 'PEACEFUL PARENTING', THE INTERACTIVE PEACEFUL PARENTING AI, AND THE FULL AUDIOBOOK!https://peacefulparenting.com/Join the PREMIUM philosophy community on the web for free!Subscribers get 12 HOURS on the "Truth About the French Revolution," multiple interactive multi-lingual philosophy AIs trained on thousands of hours of my material - as well as AIs for Real-Time Relationships, Bitcoin, Peaceful Parenting, and Call-In Shows! You also receive private livestreams, HUNDREDS of exclusive premium shows, early release podcasts, the 22 Part History of Philosophers series and much more!See you soon!https://freedomain.locals.com/support/promo/UPB2025

In this episode, I explore the profound impact Scott Adams, creator of "Dilbert," has had on my life, particularly in light of his recent health struggles with prostate cancer. I share how Adams' insights into corporate culture resonated with me during my early career as a software entrepreneur, emphasizing his critique of management structures and the humor derived from absurd realities. I recount personal anecdotes that illustrate the value of his work in shaping my perspective on success and authority. As I reflect on Adams' resilience through life's challenges, I highlight the existential themes his comics bring to the forefront, urging listeners to confront mortality, pursue their passions, and seize opportunities now rather than waiting. Ultimately, I express deep gratitude for Adams' influence, encouraging everyone to challenge complacency and embrace their potential.Shows with Scott Adams:HOAXED: EVERYTHING THEY TOLD YOU IS A LIE! Seeking advice about what to do next in lifeDetails: Hi Stefan! I'm a big fan of your show and I've recently gotten back into listening to it more regularly. I'm a 30-year-old woman from Australia. I've lived a pretty great life with many amazing experiences, including fashion modelling in Japan, South Korea, and New York! I'm politically involved and always doing something 'for the cause'. Professionally, I'm bored at my job, and I'm stumped about what to do next in work and in life. I'm a single Christian with conservative values, and I'd love to get married and have a family, but I'm struggling to find a man I'm compatible with and interested in. I guess you could say I am feeling quite lost. Something has got to change in my life soon, and I would absolutely relish your advice, insights and knowledge as to what that could be. I would appreciate an objective point of view from someone as intelligent as yourself.
