This is a Grave Talks CLASSIC EPISODE! The Gill House in Galion, Ohio, showcases Victorian architecture and a rich history that draws visitors from all over. Built by Bloomer Gill as a grand family home, it quickly gained social prominence, hosting gala events, and had many notable figures visit, including Andrew Firestone, Thomas Edison, and Henry Ford. These days, the luminaries no longer stop by, but there are many reports of paranormal activity. Investigators and visitors claim to have heard children's laughter from the attic, and shadowy figures have been spotted moving around the house. The basement offers the most chilling experiences, with visitors reporting disembodied voices, screams, and encounters with a ghostly figure known as Johnny Cake. Bloomer Gill sold the house to the Talbott family, and it seems Old Mrs. Talbot lingers within its walls, evidenced by tapping sounds and swirling mists. . The Trump administration is now openly defying court orders as multiple trial court judges seek to rein in the government's illegal conduct. Are sanctions the solution? In at least one case, we won't know until Chief Justice Roberts releases the “administrative hold” he imposed to consider Trump's latest meritless request for help from the Supreme Court. With UFC 311 just days away, today's episode of UFC Unfiltered involves longtime friend of the show John Morgan filling in for Jim Norton on a show that features two fighters from the card calling into the program in Jiří Procházka and Payton Talbott. Joining first is Procházka, who discusses how training in Japan has helped him get back to basics ahead of his high-stakes scrap against Jamahal Hill in Saturday's de facto light heavyweight title eliminator. The former 205-pound champion clarifies his stance on a potential move to 185 pounds as he breaks down his major points of emphasis following a knockout loss against Alex Pereira in his last outing inside the octagon. In between interviews, Matt Serra and John Morgan take a look at some of Jim Norton's picks before chiming in with some UFC 311 predictions of their own. When Payton Talbott calls in, the guys get the rising bantamweight to share his mindset going into his fight against Raoni Barcelos. Impressed by Talbott's confidence in a Spanish-language interview with the UFC, John Morgan gets the unbeaten prospect to explain how testing the limits of his abilities sharpens his ability to succeed in and out of competition.

ALS, a nervous system disease, ruled the headlines in the summer of 2014 thanks to the viral Ice Bucket Challenge. How has our knowledge of the disorder evolved a decade later? Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, also known as ‘Lou Gehrig's disease' (named after the iconic baseball player), is a progressive neurological disorder which breaks down a person's motor neurons. The main symptoms are muscle weakness and impaired physical function — mild, at first, but in the latter stages of the disease's progression, essential processes like breathing begin to fail. Most individuals face a life expectancy of two to five years. A small percentage live five to ten years. And an even tinier group survive beyond a decade. Most famously, renowned physicist Stephen Hawking survived more than 50 years past his diagnosis, in part due to the intensive care he was able to afford. In this episode of the ‘Your Brain On...' podcast, we discuss: • What ALS is, and how it affects the brain and the body • The onset and progression of ALS, from the earliest symptoms to the end-stage impacts • How ALS patients are diagnosed, treated, and cared for • Likely causes of ALS, including genetic predispositions and potential environmental risk factors • How new technologies are rapidly accelerating our understanding of ALS, especially in genetics Joining us for this installment of the show are two world-class experts on the disease: • Professor Ammar Al-Chalabi PhD, Professor of Neurology and Complex Disease Genetics at the Maurice Wohl Clinical Neuroscience Institute at King's College. • Merit Cudkowicz, Director of the Sean M. Healey & AMG Center for ALS at Massachusetts General Hospital. ‘Your Brain On' is hosted by neurologists, scientists and public health advocates Ayesha and Dean Sherzai. ‘Your Brain On... Nancy Talbott on Dual Dogs and Breed Specific Judging AKC judge Nancy Talbott joins host Laura Reeves for an in depth discussion on the philosophy of dual purpose dogs and breed specific judging. "I didn't really embrace or understand the significant division between show and field until I started showing more and conformation," Talbott said. "And then it started to really strike me, and increasingly, and continuing to strike me at just how extreme, not just conformation and conformation breeders, but also field and field breeders had become. The word extreme should never be in the vocabulary about a Golden Retriever in any way, physically, mentally, energy level, any of that. "As we know, if you specialize in a high level sport, there is a tendency to go to extremes. Modern day field trials, not hunting tests but modern day field trials are so extreme in what's required of the dog. I admire the trainers and handlers truly. I could never do it. But it almost creates this idea that you have to breed for what in the field world is called 'go.' That would be extreme drive. "I have heard field breeders who say, 'I can do anything else as long as I have a lot of go. And so they're breeding for more 'go.' Trainability, yes, but more go. "The conformation side, as we see when we're in the ring, when Goldens became a really impressive group dog, therefore it has become primarily a handler breed. There are still tremendous owner handlers, and I applaud every owner handler out there. It's a tough breed to show and compete with. "And that has led us to extremes of movement, where you have dogs in a flying trot, not a moderate ground covering gait, the extremes of coat, the extremes of bone and weight, because that's what people think is necessary to compete in that venue.

Tonight, our wine-tasting duo takes part in our first-ever head-to-head challenge. We will examine the differences between the two wines and help you decide which wine is right for you. Pinot Noir is the wine that made Burgundy France famous, but what about Pinot from the New World, specifically, California and Oregon. Oregon is known for its Pinot, and its cooler climate has perfect growing conditions. Oregon Pinot is known for its earthiness, minerality, and fruitiness. California Pinot is often a slightly heavier body, darker, and more fruit-forward wine. Tonight, we taste:1. 2019 Talbott, Kali Hart Pinot Noir. https://www.talbottvineyards.com/ Purchased from Costco for $17.49. James Suckling gave this wine a 93. Wine Enthusiast rated it a 92. It comes from Monterey, Central Coast, California. Estate-grown, fruit-driven with just a touch of French Oak. Wine Enthusiast said aromas of cedar, grilled strawberry, and cracked pepper. Flavors of mace and cumin.2. 2021 Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Noir. https://www.wvv.com/ Purchased from Costco for $17.00. This wine comes from the Willamette Valley in Oregon. The Vineyard has iron-rich volcanic soils. They thin the grapes to increase the intensity of the grapes. It has raspberry, strawberry preserves, cardamom spice, and earth aromas. Another source says aromas of dried dark cherries, cinnamon, and cranberry. Taste of cherry, leather, tobacco, and fresh acidity. Ph of 3.33 - 3.50. Stainless steel barrels are used for fermentation. Next week we will have a Bargain Hunt Show looking for great tasting white wines under $10. The wines will include:1. 2022 Bouchard Aine & Fils, Chardonnay, purchased at Costco for $9.99.2. 2023 Famille Perrin, Cotes Du Rhone from Costco for $9.99.3. 2023 Vignobles Lacheteau, Sauvignon Blanc purchased at Trader Joe's for $6.99.
Tonight, our blind-tasting duo heads down south, way down south to Argentina. Malbec is a Bordeaux grape that has become less popular in France but is king in Argentina. Malbec is the most planted grape by far in Argentina. It produces over half of the worlds Malbec. (According to the Oxford Wine Companion) Malbecs from Argentina are riper and more velvety than those from France. Malbec was a widely planted grape in California before prohibition. Plantings have again been growing in California.Malbec is a medium to full-body wine, normally fruit-forward. It has red and dark fruit flavors. The warmer the climate, the darker the fruit. Many Malbecs have little oak aging. Cahors in Southwestern France produces a lot of Malbec called Cot. It has darker fruit flavors with higher tannins and smoke or earthiness. Malbec often has a purple tint. Tonight, we taste: 1. 2022 Kirkland Signature Malbec $6.99 at Costco. The wine is produced in Mendoza, Argentina. Aged 12 months in French Oak Barrels. The Wine Adventure Journal and Reverse Wine Snob say - Aromas: Plum, blackberry, cola, licorice, vanilla, dusty spice, fig, and leather. Taste – Vanilla, chocolate, plum, black cherry. They call it an easy-to-drink wine with earthy characteristics. Reverse Wine Snob calls it a bulk buy. 2. 2022 Zuccardi Serie A $11.99 at Costco. I saw online for $14.00 to $17.00. This wine comes from the Uco Valley, Mendoza, Argentina. Robert Parker gave it a 92. The winemaker says, Aroma: cherry and prunes, with black pepper and tobacco. Also get chocolate, cherry liqueur, and spicy notes. Soft and velvety with firm tannins. 3. 2022 Wapisa Malbec $14.99 from Costco. The wine comes from Patagonia, Argentina. James Suckling gave it a 94. Flavors of dark plums and blackberries, chocolate, ripe tannins, and good acidity. Next week we are having our first challenge show. It is a Pinot Noir Challenge and features a California Pinot verse a Oregon Pinot. The wines will include:1. 2019 Talbott, Kali Hart Pinot Noir. Purchased from Costco for $17.49. 2. 2021 Willamette Valley Vineyards Pinot Noir. Purchased from Costco for $17.00.

Ian Machado Garry around (2:31:09) discusses his win over MVP at UFC 303, why he's upset, how close he was to a finish, if he agreed with the judges, why MVP is so difficult to face, why he didn't throw calf kicks, finishing fights, Demian Maia in his corner, alleged spying in his camp, his son's impersonations, Shavkat callout, purple shorts, and more. But Kamaru and Henry have words for the Light Heavyweight division contenders, who seem to continuously fall into a striking trap with one of the most lethal left hands in the cage. What do you do with a man who is 3 years into a UFC career with wins over 5 former champions, two division belts and objectively the best 12-fight run in history? Henry has one more LH opponent in mind for Alex before he makes the jump to Heavyweight, and the guys discuss how Pereira would fair in the division above. Is Dan Ige a certified badass? His DM's say so. Not many people on the planet plead for the green light with just FOUR HOURS to prepare. Diego's performance calls for a bit of debate between the guys. One thing was easy to agree on - the experienced 50k Ige deserves respect for his showing, especially for the 3rd round effort. And a wise reminder from the Nigerian Nightmare: Styles. Make. Fights. To that point, Ian Machado Garry's fight IQ showed up on Saturday night as he gets the UD over MVP in what was an extremely even statistical score minus one thing: 7+ minutes of control for Machado. Top control wins fights (even when it doesn't win fans) and Ian Garry didn't leave room for the judges, or Kamaru and Henry, to debate. Also, it caught the attention of Shavkat Rakhmonov. Despite the loss, Michael Venom Page showed his confidence and comfortability in the octagon continues to evolve. A good ol' Underdog Fantasy Sports competition closes the recap - Kamaru and Henry are ready to up the stakes on their next round of picks...whose got thoughts on what they should bet?
Daniel Cormier IS BACK from the octagon to give his INSTANT REACTION to Alex Pereira's incredible head-kick to knock out Jiri Prochazka to start Round 2 at UFC 303. Also, Cormier weighs in on the debate of whether or not Pereira should make a move to heavyweight to try and win three belts. Plus, DC peels back the curtain on WHAT EXACTLY went down with Dan Ige stepping up to fight Diego Lopes with 4 hours of notice! Cormier also GOES IN ON why we need to not forget to give Diego Lopes credit for all that he had to endure ahead of his fight with Dan Ige. And don't miss DC give flowers to Payton Talbott and Ian Garry, and explain why he thinks Talbott is a special talent in the UFC. 5:00 - Alex Pereira knocks out Jiri Prochazka6:30 - DC main event analysis8:00 - Pereira's future in the UFC10:45 - Cormier explains Dan Ige fighting Lopes instead of Ortega13:00 - Ian Garry, Payton Talbott and UFC 303 best performances (Timestamps vary based on ads) #Volume #HerdSee omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
There are a lot of huge, huge names on this card. Pereira, Jiri, Garry, MVP, the list goes on. But none of them are enjoying anywhere near this level of favor from the oddsmakers. Payton Talbott is -1600 as a favorite against Yanis Ghemmouri where the nearest guy on the card is only a -440. Let's take a closer look.
In the latest On the Nose around (7:43), Ariel Helwani discusses the biggest non-UFC fight in MMA, UFC Denver, if Israel Adesanya is worthy of a title shot, the death of Roman Reigns' father, Chael Sonnen's comments about Conor McGregor, retired fighters, Arman Tsarukyan's suspension, Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul, and more. Eddie Hearn around (1:02:20) discusses Anthony Joshua vs. Daniel Dubois in London, the IBF heavyweight title, boxing press conferences, his relationship with Ben Shalom, pulling a recent fight, Boxing Super League rumors, Shakur Stevenson, Devin Haney, Ryan Garcia, Mike Perry vs. Jake Paul, Jake Paul conversation, and more. Payton Talbott around (1:31:43) discusses his upcoming UFC 303 fight, his YouTube videos, his meeting with Tony Hawk, his comments about other bantamweights, salad fingers, Sean O'Malley, Conor McGregor, his celebration, merch, old wrestling photo, and more. Devin Haney around (2:01:29) discusses his recent fight against Ryan Garcia, if he suspected Garcia was on PEDs, if he has talked to Garcia since the fight, how the loss has hurt him, what happened in the fight, his boots in the fight, the bowling alley dance, if he wants to fight Garcia again, Eddie Hearn's comments, Tank Davis, weight classes, and more. Robert Whittaker around (2:24:44) discusses his recent win over Ikram Aliskerov at UFC Saudi Arabia, his root canals before the fight, when he found out Khamzat Chimaev was out of the fight, if he thought about withdrawing from the fight, fight week, crowd reaction, a viral bus photo, his walkout, the finish against Aliskerov, his popularity, what's next for him, facing Chimaev again, UFC 305, Adesanya vs. DDP, Pereira vs. Prochazka 2, the voices in his head, and more. Ariel and the panel around (3:15:06) make their International Fight Week draft. The parlay boys around (3:29:37) make their latest selection, and GC makes his UFC 303 picks. Send Kris and Rob a Text Message. On November 19, 1987, a young Canadian couple, Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg, embarked on what should have been a straightforward business trip to Seattle, Washington. Tasked with picking up furnace parts for Jay's father, they decided to make a fun outing of the errand, crossing the border from their home in British Columbia into the United States. Tragically, this trip would mark the beginning of a harrowing mystery that spanned over three decades. The couple's plans took a grim turn when they failed to return home on time. Concern quickly grew among their families, leading to frantic searches and anguished appeals for their safe return. Days later, their worst fears were realized. Tanya's lifeless body was discovered in a ditch near Alger, Washington, 20 miles south of Bellingham. She had been sexually assaulted and shot in the head. Jay's body was found two days later, 60 miles away under a bridge in Snoqualmie, strangled with a pack of cigarettes shoved down his throat. The investigation faced numerous challenges, leaving detectives with few leads and no clear suspects. The case went cold, despite persistent efforts and the enduring hope of Jay and Tanya's families for justice. As years turned into decades, the murders remained a haunting, unsolved mystery. It wasn't until 31 years later that a breakthrough came, thanks to advancements in DNA technology and the perseverance of those still seeking answers. In 2018, investigators utilized genetic genealogy to trace DNA evidence left at the crime scenes to a distant relative of the suspect. This led them to William Earl Talbott II, a truck driver from Washington whose second cousin had unknowingly provided the crucial link.Talbott was arrested and charged with the murders of Jay Cook and Tanya Van Cuylenborg. During the trial, prosecutors presented compelling evidence connecting Talbott to the crime scenes, including the DNA match and testimony regarding his movements around the time of the murders. In June 2019, a jury found Talbott guilty, providing a long-awaited sense of justice and closure for the victims' families. The story of Jay and Tanya serves as a poignant reminder of the devastating impact of violent crime and the enduring quest for justice. Their families' perseverance, coupled with modern forensic science, ultimately brought a resolution to a case that had haunted the Pacific Northwest for over three decades.Join us on the latest episode of Hitched 2 Homicide as we delve deeper into the chilling details of this case, exploring the lives cut tragically short and the relentless pursuit of justice that finally prevailed.Support the Show.JOIN THE HITCHED 2 HOMICIDE IN-LAWS AND OUTLAWSSTART KRIS CALVERT'S BOOKS TODAY FOR FREEH2H WEBSITEH2H on TWITTERH2H on INSTA

The show begins with the three co-hosts issuing their takeaways from Rose Namajunas' unanimous decision victory over Amanda Ribas in Saturday's women's flyweight main event at the UFC APEX. Shortly thereafter, the guys are joined by Payton Talbott for a chat that sees the unbeaten bantamweight prospect discuss how he gets into a calm “flow” state that allows him to both perform as a martial artist and excel in various action sports like snowboarding, skateboarding, and surfing. After explaining how DJing has become a newfound passion, Talbott circles back to his MMA future while sharing his thoughts on calling out bantamweight opponents after victory. After Payton leaves, the trio use the time between interviews to share their thoughts on Andre Lima's decision to follow up his DQ win with a trip to a tattoo parlor to get Igor Severino's bite mark tattooed on his bicep.
