Welcome back, wanderer. Today, we have the pleasure of delving into the art of weaving story into live-action spaces with the multitalented Vince Caso. You may recognize Vince from his iconic role as Bladezz in the beloved web series 'The Guild,' but his talents span a variety of media! As an actor, writer, streamer, voice actor, and seasoned game master, Vince brings a wealth of experience to our conversation. Today's topic is "Weaving Story in Live Action Spaces," and Vince shares not only amazing tidbits of advice and hard-earned experience but also some absolutely amazing stories. I want to note that a couple of times in the interview, I mistakenly called "We're Alive: Frontier" (the brilliant live-play campaign run by Ivan Van Norman) by the name "Still Alive!" (a zombie sourcebook for Monte Cook Game's Cypher System). I apologize for the confusion—I've just been playing too many different zombie systems. Anywhos, grab a seat and join in. Children need nature! In this last year of pandemic living, many more of us have seen this in our day-to-day lives, how much kids thrive when playing outside. We spoke with Nancy Striniste, founder of Earlyspace and author of “Nature Play at Home: Creating Outdoor Spaces that Connect Children with the Natural World” on about the importance of playing in nature. With a unique background in both children development and design, Striniste has been creating spaces for children for more than three decades. Striniste talks about how to connect children—in their neighborhoods, backyards, schoolyards, child care centers, and parks—to nature through good design that is deeply informed by an understanding of child development and principles of sustainable landscaping.

Blog Post: https://insideoutsidemichiana.blogspot.com/2018/10/nature-play-fun-creating-temporary-and.html Quote: “Every child should have mud pies, grasshoppers, water bugs, tadpoles, frogs, mud turtles, elderberries, wild strawberries, acorns, chestnuts, trees to climb. Brooks to wade, water lilies, woodchucks, bats, bees, butterflies, various animals to pet, hayfields, pinecones, rocks to roll, sand, snakes, huckleberries and hornets. And any child who has been deprived of these has been deprived of the best part of education.” — Luther Burbank (American horticulturalist and botanist, 1849 – 1926) Additional Resources: Tinkergarten activities: https://tinkergarten.com/activities Interested in becoming a leader?
