Experts say that word of mouth is one of the most powerful marketing channels—but in today's world, publishing a book uniquely establishes credibility and authority by showcasing your expertise.A book can work for you 24/7, build trust before you ever meet someone, and open doors that would otherwise remain closed. Yet most entrepreneurs delay writing one because they think they don't have the time, clarity, or expertise. Today's guest is an expert in eliminating those excuses and will show you why writing a book may be the highest-ROI move you can make for your business.Chandler Bolt is the founder & CEO of Self-Publishing School and SelfPublishing.com, one of the fastest-growing companies in the Inc. 5000. He's helped publish over 7,000 books, has become a multi-seven-figure entrepreneur, and built his entire business by helping people turn their ideas into authority-building books that generate leads, sales, and long-term assets. In our conversation, Chandler explains why a book can be the #1 leverage tool for entrepreneurs and investors, how self-publishing gives you all the upside and the freedom to release updated versions, and the biggest mistakes people make when marketing their book. In this episode, you'll learn: 1.) Why writing a book is the #1 authority-builder for entrepreneurs and investors—and how it can generate leads, sales, referrals, and high-quality deal flow on autopilot.2.) How Chandler scaled SelfPublishing.com into an eight-figure company and his framework for helping busy founders publish a high-impact book faster than they thought possible.3.) The hard money investing lessons Chandler learned, both wins and losses, that every entrepreneur should hear before partnering on deals and deploying capital.Show Notes: LifestyleInvestor.com/268Tax Strategy MasterclassIf you're interested in learning more about Tax Strategy and how YOU can apply 28 of the best, most effective strategies right away, check out our BRAND NEW Tax Strategy Masterclass: www.lifestyleinvestor.com/taxStrategy Session For a limited time, my team is hosting free, personalized consultation calls to learn more about your goals and determine which of our courses or masterminds will get you to the next level. Help us with our Jeffrey Award Winners by voting here: https://forms.gle/GAcHKf5QZrR7GAR79The Month of Jeff continues with another elite Jeff: Jeff Dengate, better known on the internet as @dengatorade. Jeff is the director of product testing and de facto runner in chief at Runner's World, and one of the most experienced shoe and gear testers in the world. He walks me through how Runner's World actually tests shoes with hundreds of wear testers, why some products never make it to a review, and how he personally ends up in well over 100 different pairs of shoes every year.We get into what trust looks like in the age of AI, affiliate links, and endless gear noise, and why having a real human you can bump into at a race still matters. Jeff talks about the changing landscape at Runner's World, the COVID running boom, how trail and ultra fit into the broader running world, and why the world marathon majors craze is exploding. We cover super shoes, sky high prices, why comfort still rules, why you probably do not need a 300 dollar racer to start running, and yes, we revisit my infamous Runner's World Crocs 5K headline. We finish with his case for Jeff of the Year, including BQing three times in a year and rotating through more shoes than most runners log runs.Follow Jeff Dengate: https://www.instagram.com/dengateradeShow supported by Janji.com, Garagegrowngear.com, and CSinstant.coffeeChapters04:00 Introduction to Dengatorade and Running Background06:54 Role at Runner's World and Product Testing09:38 The Art of Product Reviews12:26 Navigating AI in the Running Community15:08 Revenue Streams and Content Creation at Runner's World17:50 Understanding Runner's Needs and Popular Topics20:43 Shoe Testing and Personal Experiences23:25 Finding the Right Shoe for You25:59 The Evolution of Running Gear and Nutrition28:59 Excitement in Running and Gear Unboxing31:42 Jeff's Unique Journey to the NBA37:16 The Journey of a Sports Journalist40:06 Impact of COVID-19 on Running Community43:33 The Growth of Trail and Ultra Running48:20 Trends in the Running IndustrySubscribe to Substack: http://freeoutside.substack.comSupport this content on patreon: HTTP://patreon.com/freeoutsideBuy my book "Free Outside" on Amazon: https://amzn.to/39LpoSFEmail me to buy a signed copy of my book, "Free Outside" at jeff@freeoutside.comWatch the movie about setting the record on the Colorado Trail: https://tubitv.com/movies/100019916/free-outsideWebsite: www.Freeoutside.comInstagram: thefreeoutsidefacebook: www.facebook.com/freeoutside

Today, we are breaking down one of the more impressive B2B media businesses I have come across, Doximity. It's been called “the LinkedIn for doctors.” Jim Jones, partner and analyst at William Blair Asset Management, helped explain exactly how Doximity works as a business. Jim gets into the community engine that works for and around medical professionals. And yes, there is a social network, but it's the add-ons, such as the required continued education that doctors can complete on the platform, including script signing, and all of those little tools that make a doctor's or medical professional's life much easier. The revenue engine is advertising, and Jim delves into the nuances of how that spend works, explaining why this is the business model they've chosen. Please enjoy this Breakdown of Doximity. The New Reality for Nonprofit Funding For decades, nonprofits have relied heavily on a mix of grants, donations, and government funding to sustain their missions. But as global philanthropy evolves, those traditional sources are becoming less predictable. According to The Nonprofit Finance Fund's 2024 State of the Nonprofit Sector Report, nearly 56% of nonprofit leaders said funding uncertainty is their biggest operational challenge. On a recent episode of the Nonprofit MBA Podcast, host Stephen Halasnik and guest Joe Reed, founder of the Exponent Group and SolveLine, discussed an urgent question: What happens when your biggest grant disappears? Their answer—nonprofits must begin to think like startups, diversifying income streams and even launching mission-aligned for-profit ventures to ensure long-term impact. "We don't have the luxury to not have this conversation anymore," Reed emphasized. "Healthy nonprofits must start thinking creatively about how they generate revenue."
In this episode of DemystifySci, we peer into the very separate roots of banking and blockchain finance to find what's alive beneath the myth. Bitcoin guru and amateur mycologist, Brandon Quittem, joins us to trace the fall of old empires and the rise of a new code-born freedom. The conversation drifts between history and possibility, where gold becomes data and control slips through the fingers of the elite. Welcome back to the Empower Her Business Accelerator podcast! I'm your host, Philippa Channer, and today we're closing out our September series on revenue streams with a vital topic that every entrepreneur needs to revisit regularly: sustainability. Over the past few weeks, we've uncovered what your revenue streams are, explored ways to diversify them, and even talked about innovating them for greater profitability. But what happens after you've done all that? The next step is evaluating whether those revenue streams are actually sustainable over time. This is where the real test begins—because building income is one thing, but ensuring it continues consistently, profitably, and without draining you dry is another story entirely. (00:00) What Does “Sustainable Revenue” Really Mean? Sustainability isn't just about whether your revenue streams are making money today. It's about whether they can keep performing tomorrow, next quarter, and years down the line without depleting your energy or resources. (02:00) Auditing Time, Money, and Energy The first step is to audit each revenue stream (04:00) Evaluating Scalability Sustainability often comes down to scalability. In other words, can you grow revenue without growing stress? (05:00) Red Flags to Watch Out For Not all revenue streams are as solid as they look. (06:00) Creating a Quarterly Review Process A sustainable business isn't set-it-and-forget-it—you need to regularly check in. That's why I recommend a quarterly review. (07:00) Checking Alignment with Your Vision Finally, sustainability isn't just financial—it's personal. Sometimes we hold onto revenue streams because they're working, not because they align with our long-term goals. Closing Thoughts Evaluating sustainability isn't always glamorous, but it's the difference between building a hustle and building a legacy. Money matters—but momentum, mental health, and mission matter even more. If today's episode sparked some ideas for you, I'd love to hear from you. And don't forget, I've opened up the Entrepreneur Incubator, a four-week experience to help you clarify your brand, build a strategy, and actually implement it. Mexican cartels have expanded far beyond traditional drug trafficking, turning illegal poaching into a lucrative revenue stream. With their vast smuggling networks already in place, cartels realized they could profit from the trafficking of endangered species and animal parts—everything from jaguar pelts and sea turtle eggs to exotic birds and shark fins. These products fetch high prices on the black market, particularly in Asian markets where demand for traditional medicine, luxury goods, and rare cuisine fuels a steady supply chain. By exploiting the same routes used for narcotics, cartels can move wildlife contraband with relative ease, diversifying their criminal portfolios while taking advantage of weak enforcement and widespread corruption. The brutality cartels bring to the drug trade now mirrors their approach to poaching: systematic, violent, and deeply embedded in local economies. Communities in rural Mexico are often coerced into participating, either by supplying animals or turning a blind eye under threat. In some areas, poaching profits now rival or even surpass local drug revenues, with cartels using the money to fund weapons, bribe officials, and maintain territorial control. This shift has not only escalated the ecological crisis in Mexico but also cemented cartels as dominant players in global wildlife trafficking, demonstrating their ability to adapt and monetize virtually any illicit market. To contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.comsource:https://www.nationalgeographic.com/animals/article/mexican-cartels-are-expanding-into-wildlife-crime

The Millionaire Car Salesman Podcast provides a treasure trove of insights through candid discussions with industry insiders. The conversations with Sean V. Bradley and automotive experts Rammy Joudeh and Dayne Thornicroft underscore pivotal themes in today's automotive marketplace. By examining the strategies of top sellers, the role of innovative marketplaces, and the reshaping landscape due to new legislation, it becomes clear how these elements synergize to redefine success in car sales. Harnessing the Cody Carter Model: Strategic Success in Car Sales Cody Carter stands as a beacon of success in the automotive industry, consistently achieving remarkable sales numbers. His multifaceted strategy serves as a blueprint for other salespeople aiming to elevate their performance. As Sean V. Bradley notes, "Success leaves clues." Carter's approach is not just about exceptional interpersonal skills but about strategically positioning himself where the customers are: "He lives where the shoppers hang out," states Rammy Joudeh. Carter leverages several key tactics. His utilization of Facebook groups allows him to connect with potential buyers effectively. His expertise in leasing, specifically through self-service pricing platforms such as Least Genius, empowers customers with the information they crave, thus enhancing the buying experience. Moreover, Carter's strategic alliances with auto brokers create a pipeline for consistent, qualified leads. Understanding and implementing these elements can drive significant improvements in a salesperson's business model. Dealers and sales professionals need to adopt a mindset of continuous learning and adaptation, leveraging environments where customers are most active. Redefining Transparency in Car Dealerships with Marketplaces In an era where trust and transparency hold paramount importance, marketplaces like AutoBandit emerge as revolutionary platforms for dealerships. These marketplaces are transforming the car sales landscape by providing risk-free opportunities to connect buyers and dealerships. "We want to perform; if we don't perform, that's on us," says Rammy Joudeh, emphasizing the accountability and confidence embedded in their model. AutoBandit, as highlighted by Dayne Thornicroft, offers a unique approach by integrating transparency into the transaction process. With practices such as running soft credit apps, verifying IDs, and securing deposits upfront, the marketplace minimizes friction between buyer and dealership. This ensures that only qualified buyers engage, enhancing efficiency and customer satisfaction. By shifting focus to such platforms, dealerships can drive customer confidence and improve sales. They provide an avenue to bypass traditional lead generation pitfalls by creating seamless experiences that culminate in qualified, delivery-ready prospects. Navigating the Legislative Landscape: Impacts and Opportunities New legislation, particularly the recent "big beautiful bill," holds the potential to reshape the automotive industry. As Dayne Thornicroft outlines, significant aspects of these legislative changes include adjustments to EV rebates, impacting leasing's attractiveness. "Leasing a hybrid and an ev… their penetration rates… are much, much higher," he states, reflecting the growing importance of understanding these market shifts. The implications for car sales lie in adapting to these changes proactively. By capitalizing on current benefits, such as EV lease incentives before they phase out, dealerships can enhance their value proposition to customers. Such foresight ensures dealerships remain competitive amidst evolving legislative environments. Moreover, the conversation among the podcast's hosts touches on an evolving market ethos—consumers now expect pricing transparency. With the enforcement of initiatives like the Cars Act waning, responsibility falls on dealerships to maintain trust through integrity and openness, ultimately nurturing long-term customer relationships. Synthesizing Market Dynamics for Unparalleled Success The wisdom imparted through conversations on the Millionaire Car Salesman Podcast encapsulates key elements essential for domination in the car sales arena. From Cody Carter's strategic mastery to the disruptive innovations introduced by marketplaces like AutoBandit, and through the lens of crucial legislative shifts, a holistic understanding of these dynamics is vital. Dealers and sales professionals are encouraged to analyze and incorporate these insights, strategically aligning themselves with proven practices while remaining flexible to adapt to new challenges and opportunities. In doing so, they not only secure their success but redefine the standards of excellence in the automotive industry, paving the path for a future where knowledge, transparency, and strategic acumen drive unparalleled success. What does it take to build a recruiting firm that survives three recessions, operates across borders, and thrives without retainers? In this episode of The Resilient Recruiter, we spotlight David Fishman, founder of Sparrow Company—a bi-national executive search and staffing firm based in both the U.S. and Mexico. David shares how he rebuilt after nearly losing everything in 2009 and developed a resilient, multi-revenue business that consistently closes $30K+ deals on contingency. With a team of 12 and placements ranging from hourly plant workers to C-suite executives, David proves that long-term success in recruiting isn't about flashy tech or a narrow niche—it's about grit, loyalty, smart diversification, and building client trust. Whether you're a firm owner, solo operator, or team leader, this episode will inspire you to think bigger, act faster, and future-proof your business model. Episode Highlights: [2:30] Why David's recruiting journey started with a family staffing business and a Coast Guard exit [7:00] How the 2009 recession nearly wiped him out—and what it took to survive [16:00] Expanding into Mexico: a single client request that changed everything [24:00] Building a binational team and training his kids to become recruiters [36:00] Why he's not retained (yet), and how he consistently closes $30K+ fees on contingency [47:00] How Sparrow places both plant supervisors and presidents using the same recruiting mechanics [1:06:00] David's multiple revenue streams: recruiting projects, temp staffing, nearshore talent [1:13:00] Why impulsivity is his superpower and what legacy he wants to leave behind Why Diversification is Non-Negotiable After nearly losing his business during the 2009 downturn, David made a key decision: stop relying on one industry or one type of placement. Today, Sparrow Company operates across manufacturing, engineering, mining, supply chain, and IT—placing roles at all levels across North America and Europe. Key takeaway for recruiters: Think beyond niche. Build a multi-layered model across industry, function, level, and geography. 3 Revenue Streams Every Recruiting Firm Owner Should Know To protect against market shifts and add recurring income, David built three revenue lines: Embedded recruiters on short-term contracts Temporary staffing through a dedicated local firm Contract engineers working remotely from Mexico for U.S. clients These offerings helped him scale sustainably, stabilize cash flow, and serve clients more deeply. “Every time we add a new service, it helps us survive another economic cycle.” How to Close $30K+ Deals Without Retainers David works 100% on contingency—but trains his clients to expect fewer resumes and faster, more precise matches. His firm is known for first-candidate hires and high-level execution without the upfront fees. “I'm not retained, but I'm still beating the firms that are. Because I'm hungrier.” About David Fishman David Fishman is the founder of Sparrow Company, a bi-national staffing and executive search firm incorporated in the United States and Mexico. With 30+ years in recruiting, he's placed CEO, CFO, VP, Director, Plant Manager, and Engineering roles across global manufacturing, supply chain, logistics, and Tier-One automotive clients. Sparrow's clients include publicly traded multinationals, private equity-backed firms, and international companies operating across the U.S., Mexico, Switzerland, and Germany. David is a member of the Pinnacle Society, recognized by the California Staffing Professionals Association as Staffing Professional of the Year, and frequently speaks on recruiting best practices and production hiring. In 2022, he launched a traditional temporary staffing firm serving the El Paso, TX and Las Cruces, NM region.
