Melanie and I were introduced by the one & only Regan Walsh. (If you haven't listened to Regan's episode yet, you can check her out in SZN 1, EP 32.) Melanie's resume is impressive. She's a PsyD, clinical psychologist, brain coach, speaker, and author. Her first book, The Emotionally Intelligent Teen: Skills to Help You Deal with What You Feel, Build Stronger Relationships, and Boost Self-Confidence, gives teens and young adults the skills they need to improve their lives. She also has a second book coming out in September of this year.In this episode, Melanie recounts what it was like growing up with her parents and 3 sisters in Michigan, how she coped with constant anxiety, and ultimately cut ties in order to design a life that she loves with her husband in the UP of Michigan. This is a great episode and I HIGHLY recommend it (and her books) for anyone out there parenting in this wild world.Thank you for being so open and vulnerable, Melanie. You're a star! (And thanks again, Regan. ILYSM)xoxo-

Women are doing it all, whether it's running a business, being a CEO, raising a family or showing up in all the different hats we wear across time and space. With that being said, showing up means embracing the fear and moving forward with courage and confidence, but how exactly can that be done? In today's episode, we are talking to Regan Walsh, life and executive coach as well as the chief renegade Officer at Renegade Global. Regan knows everything about confidence, courage, and feeling the fear but doing it anyway. During our conversation Regan talks about why her gut instinct is the best tool she could ever have. She shares why the best way to face fear is to ask what's the worst that's going to happen and then follow it up with “and then what,” how confidence and courage have played a role in her own life and how to form your own community. In this episode, we cover: The role that confidence and courage plays in leaning into changing identities [2:03] Facing the fear and where confidence shows up [5:39] Regan shares more about her own journey dealing with challenges and leaning into her own capabilities [11:54] Find your tribe starts with just asking and what ROC actually is [19:19] The legacy of Regan Walsh [22:39] Details & Registration for State of Women Conference: https://whitneyabraham.kartra.com/page/stateofwomenconference Connect with Regan: Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/regan_walsh/ Heart Boss: Trust Your Gut, Shed Your Shoulds, and Create a Life You Love https://www.amazon.com/Heart-Boss-Trust-Shoulds-Create/dp/1544518730 Connect with Whitney & Stephanie: Stephanie IG: @stephanie_hanna_ Whitney IG: @whitneyabraham Whitney Website: https://www.whitneyabraham.com/

Today's guest is Regan Walsh, and she's an executive coach and life coach who finds joy and fulfillment in helping people live a life that sizzles. As a woman with a glass-three-quarters-full mentality and a deep desire to nurture, she proudly guides clients through times of transition to uncover their truest selves and find profound satisfaction in their every day. Her own journey was fraught with self-inflicted stress, unsatisfying busyness, and plenty of needless striving. Thankfully, it's also been a journey of intentional searching and incredible transformation. Prior to coaching, Regan spent 15 years working in corporate, nonprofit, and creative agencies. She hustled hard as a high-achieving salesperson, built a nonprofit brand strategy from the ground up. She once even quit a job after 4.25 days. (We'll get into that when we chat with her.) As someone with a strong sense of self and an inability to be anything but truthful, she began noticing a welcome trend: Her friends, family, and coworkers would often seek her advice as they faced challenges. Regan delighted in helping them discover their own resilience and courageously pursue their passions—so much so that I decided to make it her life's mission. She's worked with thousands of clients from around the world, has been featured in Harvard Business Review, Forbes, NBC.com, and FastCompany, and proudly calls Columbus, Ohio, home along with her husband Nick and daughters Dorothy and Maeve. Today I talk with Regan Walsh, who I connected with over Instagram, and instantly knew we would be great friends because the first thing she did was send me a personal video to introduce herself. I appreciated so much that she got personal with me in such a virtual world and knew she would bring a "keep it real" attitude to our conversation and allow herself to be honest and vulnerable. In our conversation, Regan walks us through why her truth is wrapped up in shame and how it relates to her current business and brand that she's worked so hard to build. Regan Walsh quit what she thought was her dream job after only a week. This earned her the nickname “One Week Walsh” and was the beginning of her journey to find more meaning in her life. Regan found a job where she worked more hours, but that she truly loved. This is one of the many events in Regan’s life that inspired her book Heart Boss, a compilation of stories where she took action to turn the life she had been dreaming of into her reality. Now, Regan is a Life Coach, a Speaker who roots fiercely for others, and a graduate of the Renegade Accelerator. She helps women who are asking “is this it?” reclaim their lives. In this episode, Regan tells Amy Jo that we all deserve joy in whatever we do for the majority of our days. Regan says we shouldn’t punish ourselves by sticking in careers that no longer serve us. Working with powerful women everyday is what serves Regan. Regan and Amy Jo also talk about having the courage to free yourself from obligations, having your own back, and telling your stories instead of containing them. On today's episode, we talk with https://reganwalsh.com/ (Regan Walsh), a NYU-certified executive and life coach who focuses on helping women who are over-programmed and underwhelmed, reclaim their lives, both personally and professionally. Regan has coached hundreds of women through her one-on-one and group coaching programs, and she is regularly asked to give keynotes and facilitate workshops for fortune 500 companies, including Nike, QuickBooks, and Nationwide to audiences ranging from 50-500. Regan contributes to Harvard Business Review and Forbes, and has been featured in NBC.com, FastCompany, and Columbus CEO. She is located in Columbus, Ohio and coaches women from all over the world. On this episode we learn Regan's story and how she pivoted to life coaching. She reflects on her feelings that came up around starting a business and leaving the security of what some would call a "dream job." Her business has flourished and now she was worked with thousands of people. We are fortunate to learn from Regan as she divulges the common themes she sees women do (hint: we don't prioritize ourselves) and also what we humans do to hold ourselves back. This became a very relatable and powerful conversation that you all need to hear. Go check out Regan's https://reganwalsh.com/ (website) and sign up for her email list and follow her on Instagram https://www.instagram.com/reganwalsh_lifecoach/ (@reganwalsh_lifecoach). There are some really good nuggets of advice in here. We laughed, we cried. Come check it out! This episode was a very special episode for Meltdown City. We can't want for you to listen! XO Nic & Ali
