Welcome to the newest entrant to our Impact Radio USA stable of shows, with "Impact Interviews and Music". The title says it all, as we provide exhilarating interviews with some terrific people and, of course, we augment the interviews with great music! Each episode of "Impact Interviews and Music" airs LIVE every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday at 10:00 am ET, then repeats at 10:00 pm ET on the same date. On today's show, we spoke with PETER KAY and DR. RICK CAPALDI PETER KAY From His Amazon Page: "Each year, thousands of people walk the various pilgrim routes to Santiago de Compostela in North west Spain. This book is about the author's personal pilgrimage, following the less frequently travelled route of the Via de La Plata from Seville to Santiago, a distance of 1,006 kilometres. It's also about the people he met along the way, their stories, adventures together and most of all, the most valuable of commodities which seem so undervalued these days: humanity and friendship." DR. RICK CAPALDI FROM HIS WEBSITE: "Dr. Rick Capaldi, co-founder of Outreach Concern, one of the largest school-based counseling agencies in the United States, provides parents with a guide to raising their kids into sturdy, independent adults. 21st Century Parenting gives a new twist on the original three Rs―Reading, ‘Riting, and ‘Rithmetic. Parents will learn how to steer their children toward emotional stability and success using the new three Rs―Reading, Regulating, and Redirecting―reading their child’s environment, regulating their child’s emotional temperature, and redirecting their child’s behavior. Many of the concepts that Dr. Capaldi also introduces are based on his Behavior Performance Management™ intervention tool that has helped guide successful counseling and support services with over 500,000 children, adolescents and families in over 990 elementary, middle and high schools in Southern California. Full of real world examples and sound advice, this is a must read for any parent in today’s complex world. Dr. Rick Capaldi has been a practicing family therapist for 40 years, specializing in children, adolescents and families, focused on childhood disorders, parenting and learning disabilities. Dr. Capaldi is a former adjunct Professor in Pepperdine University’s graduate M.F.T. counseling program and an instructor of psychology and sociology at Saddleback and Irvine Valley Community Colleges." And GREAT music selected just for you! Thank you for stopping in! Enjoy!

Mr. Nixon's Words of Wisdom

When I was growing up, we talked about the 3 R's—Reading, ‘Riting and ‘Rithmetic. Of course they're not really R's, but they did emphasize the part of education that was considered the most important. Now, I would talk about 3 new R's which I personally consider the most important things to learn in school and in the real world. They are Rules, Respect and Responsibility. Rules have gotten a bad name because the theory is that anyone can learn a rule, but rules often hold our society together until we can learn the other two.Respect means honoring other people and their property. Self respect means valuing yourself. Responsibility is the most difficult and the most important of the three. Your happiness will be directly related to your ability to own your actions.Let me give you an example. Recently there has been a great deal of damage done to school property in the libraries. Batteries have been taken out of laptops, keys have been removed from keyboards and damage has been done to books. These actions violate all three of the 3 R's. I hope you will take your place in the school more seriously. We all have a chance every day to show that we have learned how to get along following the rules, respecting ourselves and others and taking responsibility for our actions
