Beware the Ides of March ! On this day that wild Bill Shakespeare referred to as the Ides of March in his play Julius Caesar a great betrayal occurred. Was it the BEST? What is a good or great betrayal? The boys, Nick and Dan are joined by new contributing producer Jack and we can only say this.... you WILL have a fun time...historical and fictional betrayals are covered and joked upon. To help the boys out, the much talked about " Fact Checker " makes a debut, but in the end...The Best always comes down to a die roll. Hi, Bob, in this episode, MJ, Shaun and Chad take a huge vampiric, and yet somehow festive, bite out of the Riting discourse around Bill Shakespeare. Other topics include Middle School, Antisemitism, and Pictures of your Boss Shaking Hands With Christ. Oh, I know your type: looking for the link, are ye? Well, you're in luck, we just processed the return on this one. https://linktr.ee/onriting

Stealing a bit from Bill Shakespeare, this is a daily and possibly the most important question we grapple with on a daily basis. But unlike, the Melancholy Dane the question we struggle with is the incredible diagnostic power or a CT vs. the possible downsides. This podcast aims to look at the CT question through the old standard- the lens of risks and benefits and hopefully will give you a framework for how to think about this famous question.
On this week's episode of The Literary Life, we bring you another installment in our “Best of” Series. Angelina Stanford, Cindy Rollins, and Thomas Banks continue their discussion of J. R. R. Tolkien's short story “Leaf by Niggle“. If you missed the Back to School 2020 Conference when it was live, you can still purchase access to the recordings at MorningTimeforMoms.com. Angelina opens the book chat highlighting Tolkien's mirroring of Dante's Divine Comedy with Niggle's journey, and our hosts move through a recap of the story. The questions we should be asking as we read are whether this story deals with the recovery of our vision and whether it ends with a eucatastrophe. Cindy brings out more of the autobiographical nature of this story for Tolkien. Angelina tosses around the idea that Parish and Niggle may be doubles and be a picture of Tolkien's two selves. Thomas talks about what Niggle has to do in the “purgatory” section of the story. They also talk about the themes of art and the artist, sub-creation, and redemption. Come back next week to hear a discussion about why we ought to read myths. Commonplace Quotes: It is when a writer first begins to make enemies that he begins to matter. Hilton Brown Kill that whence spring the crude fancies and wild day-dreams of the young, and you will never lead them beyond dull facts—dull because their relations to each other, and the one life that works in them all, must remain undiscovered. Whoever would have his children avoid this arid region will do well to allow no teacher to approach them—not even of mathematics—who has no imagination. George MacDonald There were people who cared for him and people didn't, and those who didn't hate him were out to get him. . . But they couldn't touch him. . . because he was Tarzan, Mandrake, Flash Gordon. He was Bill Shakespeare. He was Cain, Ulysses, the Flying Dutchman; he was Lot in Sodom, Deidre of the Sorrows, Sweeney in the nightingales among trees. Joseph Heller On the Death of Dr. Robert Levet by Samuel Johnson Condemned to Hope's delusive mine, As on we toil from day to day, By sudden blasts, or slow decline, Our social comforts drop away. Well tried through many a varying year, See Levet to the grave descend; Officious, innocent, sincere, Of every friendless name the friend. Yet still he fills Affection's eye, Obscurely wise, and coarsely kind; Nor, lettered Arrogance, deny Thy praise to merit unrefined. When fainting Nature called for aid, And hovering Death prepared the blow, His vigorous remedy displayed The power of art without the show. In Misery's darkest cavern known, His useful care was ever nigh, Where hopeless Anguish poured his groan, And lonely Want retired to die. No summons mocked by chill delay, No petty gain disdained by pride, The modest wants of every day The toil of every day supplied. His virtues walked their narrow round, Nor made a pause, nor left a void; And sure the Eternal Master found The single talent well employed. The busy day, the peaceful night, Unfelt, uncounted, glided by; His frame was firm, his powers were bright, Though now his eightieth year was nigh. Then with no throbbing fiery pain, No cold gradations of decay, Death broke at once the vital chain, And freed his soul the nearest way. The sports betting and gaming industry gathers in Toronto next week, so SBC's Cristian Robalino and First Pitch competition moderator Jesse Learmonth tee up the conference. And more on the clash of coalitions. With apologies to devotees of Bill Shakespeare. . . . regulators, operators, communicators, suppliers, marketers, engineers, data darlings, and sure, even the folks who occupy the executive suites, lend us your ears. Cristian Robalino and Jesse Learmonth joined us from Houston and Victoria respectively to help set the table for next week's Canadian Gaming Summit in the city below Bolton. Robalino, the VP of Marketing for SBC's Americas business, answered our questions about the preparations for SBC's maiden voyage in managing the Canadian conference and also delivered some helpful hints for newbie Summit attendees. Learmonth, an industry veteran and owner/operator of The Betting Startups podcast and newsletter, will hold the moderator's microphone for the First Pitch competition on the final day of the three- day event. Learmonth provided an overview of the three finalists along with the opportunities that come from participating in First Pitch. Amanda Brewer of Kindred Group weighed in on the reporting in Thursday's Gaming News Canada newsletter presented by GBG Plc on the exchange of legal correspondence between a coalition of four provincial lottery and gaming corporations, and a coalition of registered operators in Ontario. Finally, researchers Dr. Flora Matheson, Dr. Arthur McLuhan and Madison Ford from the MAP Centre for Urban Health Solutions walked us through the smartphone app they've developed to support people with gambling concerns. The SPRinG app, the researchers hope, will provide additional support to existing services around problem gambling. Hosted on Acast. See acast.com/privacy for more information.

‘Twasn't it Shakespeare who wrote ‘a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose'? Whether he did or not, it's a play on words. And from what the history books tell us, he was the best at making plays out of words. Or organizing words into a play. What we learn from this is that as useful as language can be, it can also prove confounding. Through all the channeling to the place in the brain where comprehension is gained by translating your senses into images or ideas, there is always the opportunity for misinterpretation. In the English language alone there currently exists 20,000 words, so chances are very good that a few of them are going to doppleganged. I mean, to a foreigner, it can't be easy to discern the nuance of building a building, or how to desert a desert. Or how minute a minute is, much less how a solution can be a solution. I know, it's fucked. They are called homonyms. And as I'm sure you know by now, the key to differentiating terminology is by understanding the context of the word. Meaning, you just need to know the subject matter you're talking about. By the way, did you know that they found a pipe in Shakespeare's grave and they're pretty sure the dude smoked weed? So, what did he mean when he wrote that ‘a rose is a rose is a rose is a rose'? Well, there are many ways to refer to a rose in literature. And actually, ‘twasn't he that wrote that, I just looked it up. He wrote ‘a rose by any other name would smell as sweet'. Which was from Romeo and Juliet and meant love transcends applied labels like Montegue and Capulet. And speaking of love, if a jar is ajar, it means I've unscrewed the cap of my beloved nug jug and ripped another tasty bowl whilst I scribed this stoner prose. Just like Bill Shakespeare would've. In case you're learning English.

The Boardroom is so glad you decided to join us for this communication session. Chris Eby avoided the steady diet of government cheese, by jumping out of financial services and into pest control. Redirected from getting a law degree, he wanted to get the world by the tail, and wrap it around, and put it in his pocket! He's not here to “come down on you”, but respect has to be earned. Hear how Chris backdoored his way into the door to door industry. You don't miss his approach to sales on the back porch either. There are other names for knocking, such as crack, ice, boom, pow. Call it what you want, but cloning knocks and scripts can only get you so far. You need confidence on the doors, or you're not gonna amount to Jack Squat! Bundles are a great idea, but I can't see real good…is that Bill Shakespeare over there? Coming from a guy that looks like Santa's evil twin, he admits the mistakes of his bundle-only approach. Reps are overpaid across the door-knocking industry. You can take a Moneyball approach…I wish you could just shut your big yapper! We're gonna be buddies! We're gonna be pals! And we're gonna pay your front line workers and managers! Chris expanded his company's service offerings, but there came a point in which it made sense to partner with allied industries. He goes into detail about his allied partner incentives in this San Juan Boardroom chat. The nicest, shrewd businessman you'll meet already has plans for the future. He's working on making a lasting legacy which starts with living in a lambo, down by the river. ------ Filmed, Edited, and Mixed by Dylan Seals of www.Verbell.Ltd Additional Videography by Gabriel Gonzalez. You will truly enjoy this #100th Episode of The Friday Fireside with the Brilliant and Entertaining Mike Bloxham, EVP of Global Media and Entertainment for Magid. Mike was also at the birth of The iTV Doctor, as a guest on the first The iTV Doctor column in May, 2009. Starting with a history of interactivity in entertainment (going back to the audience throwing cabbages at Bill Shakespeare), Mike provides real recommendations for how advertisers can take advantage of today's smaller but HIGHLY FOCUSED audiences for effective and profitable branded interactive experiences. Sadly, we lose Mike's signal at the end of the chat, so we'll just have to pick the conversation in a future episode of The Friday Fireside.

Bill Shakespeare once said, “The world is a stage”. Everyone wears their own mask and plays a version of the character they believe they are. We are currently in the third act in the ongoing lawsuit between the SEC and Ripple Labs. The investigation alone has been going on for two and a half years. As the plot thickens, I'm here to unpack some recent findings in this ongoing debacle and to clear up some of the complicated legal jargon and put it into lament terms. To me, it seems that the SEC is purposely fighting a losing battle. It's funny that they keep posturing against other crypto powerhouses such as Uniswap and Coinbase to distract the public from the fact that they're losing this case against Ripple. You can't just pick and choose who to go and to not go after, but in the world of political theater, the show must go on.
Alright everyone, can you believe it's already week 3? Neither can the guys, but that means football is in full swing so we're not mad about it. We're doing things a little bit different on this weeks episode as our local Bengal fan, HB, went lone wolf for real and decided to record a little solo sesh (at the end of the episode) so that means we're left with Loren, Jamie, and Fronk to pick up the slack. Fair warning--HB REALLY loves Who Dey Nation and submitted what amounted to a 30-minute monologue that would make even Bill Shakespeare blush. Fronk thinks the Ravens win over the chiefs might've saved the season. Jamie is nervous about the injuries to the defense and the Steelers offensive line. Loren feels like Cleveland is building momentum. Surprise! We've got fantasy football with Coleman. Bringing you up to date on all things AFC north. Is Jamie acting as Big Ben's voodoo doll??? Jamie and Fronk love their fantasy team as their co-managed squad moved to 2-0 over the weekend. Everyone sits at under .500 for their season picks, will someone be able to separate themselves? So much more as we look into this weeks games on FTN. With mirth and laughter let old wrinkles come, for ‘tis National Talk Like Shakespeare Day, and thou wilt loveth this episode. The crew had fun with this one, and the mirth and laughter certainly flowed like a fine wine. Our Associate Caller of the Day was Jacky from Store 7294 in Norman, Oklahoma. In Milestone Minute, Mark, Tammy and Marcella celebrated 30, 35, and 40 years with the Walmart family. As old Bill Shakespeare says, “time is the nurse and breeder of all good.” In Celebrity Chit Chat, Bo chatted with The Chainsmokers about the cathartic benefits of songwriting, why people connect with their music and what it takes to be a great songwriter. Poetry seems to be a theme today. In Yes or No Way Bo, customer Ali from Sullivan, Missouri, rocked out on the first four questions and missed a beat on the fifth. Additional highlights include Spy the Lie, Friday Feud, and Bo’s Impossible Question of the Day which asked: More of these were made in the mid 1960’s than any other time, what are they? We’ll take a penny for your thoughts, but it’s going to take more than that. Be sure to tune in!

Episode 124 - BILL SHAKESPEARE’S SONNET WHAT? TRAILER PARK! Dune’ - Our first trailer off the park this week is for a film we have been hearing about seemingly for the last two years or more. About how spectacular and fantastical this big-budget bombastic film will be. Well now finally we have our first look at Denis Villeneuve’s epic imagining of ‘Dune’! Now to be brutally honest, I know nothing of the Dune story or the novel or 1984 cinematic version so the trailer to be made next to no sense but what I gather is it is set in a futuristic world where some kid has like dream powers. You know, like he has visions or something. And his dad is like the boss man of like a tonne of planets and stuff and then his dad tries to take over a planet but the people fight back or something. And the kid, well he’s like ‘yeah, Nah, not taking that shit old man!’ And he like fights alongside Aquaman against his dad, you know? All joking aside, the film looks like it lives up to its nutty budget and is going to be an epic journey in the theatre! Very excited to check this one out coming Boxing Day, 2020. ‘Hubie Halloween’ - Okay… how does this keep happening? How do we keep giving Adam Sandler the chance to make a film while portraying the exact same character every time? I’ll tell you how: because now matter how stupid the film looks, No matter how much I whinge about that he is just playing the same character, No matter how many of his friends he crams into the film for stupid one-liners… I will STILL end up watching this film because it is so conveniently on Netflix. Curse you, Sandler!! Hubie Halloween tells the ‘story’ of Sandler being the local nut job, always reporting anything out of the ordinary to police, always trying to be a nice guy but really just inconveniencing everyone and copping the brunt of bullying from the local kids and adults alike. But this Halloween something is off, something is wrong and he is the only one who can stop it! But who will believe him? Who will help him before it’s too late?! Let’s find out together, October 7! ‘Freaky’ - Well if this isn’t the greatest idea for a film ever I have no idea what is! We all love Lindsay Lohan and Jaime Lee Curtis’ absolute classic film Freaky Friday of course. And we all adore the incredible Rob Schneider and Rachel McAdams’ mix up film The Hot Chick Yeah? Well, what if we combined the two together and I dunno put Kathryn Newton in the role of the pretty high school girl and then you know, put Vince fucking Vaughn in the creepy old guy role and switch their bodies. Oh, wait, not juicy enough? Why don’t we make Vaughn’s character a serial killer? Oh yes, everything about this trailer screams ‘Shut up and take my money’ as we see almost a cliche teenage horror film but one that has me itching to see it!! Add in the fact this film is written and directed by the guy who brought us Happy Death Day 1 & 2 AND is a Blumhouse production. Yup. I’m in. Coming to theatres late November/Early December. ‘Save Yourselves!’ - In the social media and tech-driven world we live in, have you ever actually considered switching off from everything with your significant other and heading out to a secluded cabin and spending a week away from the world? Sounds pretty good right? Just being away from it all. But what if the oonnnnne time you choose to do that, the world is attacked and in aided by floofy poofs!!!! I mean, ALIENS?!? This is the case for young 21st-century couple Jack and Su as they find themselves isolated out in the woods while the world around them is being taken over by the most floooofiest poooofs! I MEAN ALIENS!! How can they survive without any knowledge of basic survival skills or YouTube tutorials?! Coming to on-demand October 6! ‘8 7’ - Our final trailer this week is written and directed by the uber-serious Aaron Sorkin and has an incredible cast including but not limited to Eddie Redmayne, Alex Sharp, Sacha Baron Cohen, Jeremy Strong, John Carroll Lynch, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, Mark Rylance, Frank Langella, and my boy Joseph Gordon-Levitt. So with that kind of set up, there’s probably not a lot of humor to be had with this description and review of the trailer. We can’t end Trailer Park like that. So why don’t I put on a terrible British accent to read it out and try to lighten the mood? Here goes nothing! *The story tells of 7 men who were put on trial in the late 1960s for causing a huge public uprising against the system, setting off a chain of rioting and injury and death. Whilst they never intended to cause pain and suffering, they got all the attention they wanted for their cause as their trial brought about National and international headlines as they were all sentenced in the courts. Will they have the book thrown at them or will they walk away Scott free?! Those lucky todgers! Coming to Netflix on October 18th. ‘YASSS OR PASSS - September 17th - (Glendale, Kotara & Tuggerah) ‘Trolls World Tour’ ‘The Secret Garden’ ‘The Broken Hearts Gallery’ ‘Swimming for Gold’ ‘An American Pickle’ @2c3pod Aussie Pop Culture Podcast ~ 2 Episodes every Wednesday and Friday + YOUTUBE bonus content. On this week’s episode of The Literary Life with Angelina Stanford, Cindy Rollins, and Thomas Banks continue their discussion of J. R. R. Tolkien’s short story “Leaf by Niggle“. If you missed the Back to School 2020 Conference when it was live, you can still purchase access to the recordings at CindyRollins.net. Angelina opens the book chat highlighting Tolkien’s mirroring of Dante’s Divine Comedy with Niggle’s journey, and our hosts move through a recap of the story. The questions we should be asking as we read are whether this story deals with the recovery of our vision and whether it ends with a eucatastrophe. Cindy brings out more of the autobiographical nature of this story for Tolkien. Angelina tosses around the idea that Parish and Niggle may be doubles and be a picture of Tolkien’s two selves. George MacDonald There were people who cared for him and people didn’t, and those who didn’t hate him were out to get him. . . But they couldn’t touch him. . . because he was Tarzan, Mandrake, Flash Gordon. He was Bill Shakespeare. He was Cain, Ulysses, the Flying Dutchman; he was Lot in Sodom, Deidre of the Sorrows, Sweeney in the nightingales among trees. Joseph Heller On the Death of Dr. Robert Levet by Samuel Johnson Condemned to Hope’s delusive mine, As on we toil from day to day, By sudden blasts, or slow decline, Our social comforts drop away. Well tried through many a varying year, See Levet to the grave descend; Officious, innocent, sincere, Of every friendless name the friend. Yet still he fills Affection’s eye, Obscurely wise, and coarsely kind; Nor, lettered Arrogance, deny Thy praise to merit unrefined. When fainting Nature called for aid, And hovering Death prepared the blow, His vigorous remedy displayed The power of art without the show. In Misery’s darkest cavern known, His useful care was ever nigh, Where hopeless Anguish poured his groan, And lonely Want retired to die. Book List: (Amazon affiliate links are used in this content.) Hamlet. Richard III. King Lear. Timeless classics from the late, great Bill Shakespeare which embolden the mind and breath life into the spirit. Yet, these tales can take a deadly turn and suck the life right out you. A deadly serial murder is on the loose committing crimes in the vein of Shakespearean story lines. This week on the podcast the gang watched the 1973 black comedic horror film, "Theatre of Blood." Vincent Price delights as Edward Lionheart, a disgruntled actor in love with the works of Shakespeare and vows to enact revenge on the critics who mocked him. Tune in to find out more!
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bs08-l5lJ-s William Shakespeare, around here we call him “Bill”, wrote ‘A rose by any other name would smell as sweet’. In customer-speak we guess Bill Shakespeare was making the point that it doesn’t matter so much what you call your customers it’s how you treat them that counts. But as they say in the infomercials, “But wait! There’s more.” Actually there is more, a lot more. The words we use to describe our customers (and also our employees) set our expectations for how we want customers to be treated as well as how we expect our employees to behave. Employees of Wal~Mart are described as “Associates.” At Sam’s Club they are “Partners” and at Ritz Carlton folks who may otherwise be known as guests or clients are often referred to as “Ladies and gentlemen serving ladies and gentlemen.” And then there is Dick’s Last Resort where customers can expect to be verbally abused and for some odd reason they seem to look forward to the hazing. We think the point has been made. Calling customers by name is the best approach. And that’s final! The value of calling customers clients, patients, or members is that in doing so you are subtlety signalling that there is “something different” about your approach to service. And different is good. Just be careful. If you are going to raise expectations be sure you can keep the promise. You want to raise your expectations to a Positively Outrageous Service standard contact us at 803.792.5555!

This week comedian Ivo Graham joins us in the studio as we focus solely on one of British literature’s greatest authors; not “old Bill Shakespeare”, but former Manchester United captain Steve Bruce. If you wander into your local book shop and head straight for the classics, it’s almost certain you won’t be confronted with the sacred text ‘Striker’ by Steve Bruce. So unlikely a career choice was it for Steve Bruce to have turned to crime fiction, that for many years, people refused to believe Steve Bruce had written it. The book is not autobiographical. Instead, it focuses on a Newcastle born football manager called ‘Steve Barnes’ who recently turned to management after retiring at ‘Mulcaster United’. Obviously, a massive literary stretch for the real-life Steve Bruce. We also discuss Steve’s short-lived TV show ‘Captain’s Log’. You can find Part 1 of it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lQeKBf9P5Lw As always, we’ve had some great correspondence; including a couple of wonderful Warren Barton anecdotes and more information on Josh’s now notorious ‘draw a stadium’ competition victory. What is a legacy? No - it’s not a car made by Subaru. A legacy as defined by Webster's is something transmitted by or received from an ancestor or predecessor or from the past. Okay - that is really academic. How does that translate into the construction and remodeling industries? In short - a legacy is something that you leave behind for those who follow after you. And it is something that is established by your patterns that you exhibit in your life. What are your habits? What are your patterns? Are you practicing what you are preaching - or are you saying one thing and hoping like crazy that your followers will do that instead of repeating what they see you doing? (Think about the Law of the Picture for a minute - they will do what they see.) Let’s go back to family and friends who are closest to you. What type of legacy did they leave for you to follow? Bill Shakespeare - no we are not on a first name basis - is quoted as saying “No legacy is so rich as honesty.” Are you trapped in a legacy that is not what you would want for yourself - or worse, for those who follow you? Make the decision to adjust your habits and focus now so that you can adjust the legacy that you leave for those following you. Legacy comes in many forms - and does not take a long time to form if you are consistent in your efforts. Think about the legacy of a foreman in a construction company. What type of foreman are they? Do they finish their projects with a high degree of efficiency and quality - or do they leave a trail of breadcrumbs in the form of huge punch list items? Listen to the FREE course here https://www.construct-ed.com/course/21-laws-of-leadership-for-contractors/
Spotted, Andy and Aaron arguing about the Season 1 finale of The CW's "Gossip Girl." The not-so-dynamic duo go back and forth about Bill Shakespeare, Serena's "Power Girl" dress, the return of Little J, and the end of Andy's Dan-ial. A&A discuss the end of Serena & Dan, the blissful and heartbreaking origins of Chair, Lily's tragic obsession with marriage, and Andy's newfound leniency for Vanessa. They rank the characters, and bicker over already established shipping names. All good things must come to an end in "Much I Do About Nothing," as Andy and Aaron say goodbye...for now. xoxo.
