In time for the release of the HD remake, and ahead of the 25th anniversary of the original release, we've ported the SNES classic Secret of Mana to tabletop format! That's right, the wait is over and the latest GameCola PorTable RPGCast is here! Join Alex "Jeddy" Jedraszczak as he guides James "Valor" Pelster, Anna "Harper" Bryniarski, and Joseph "I think I have amnesia" Martin through Secret of Mana, customized around three players and based vaguely off of D&D 5e rules. This episode is not about villains. Villians can (and should) be hated by the party, but villains are a whole other story that we will tackle in some other time. **3:15 Annoying NPCs should have some power** Because otherwise the PC will simply kill them or avoid them. The PCs should always have a reason to go to the hated NPCs. e.g. they are the counsellor for the throne and present at every meeting, they are a tradesman that have something the PC want, or they are related to someone in power. How to give instant power in two steps: Place an NPC in the way, make them part of a bigger organization. **6:20 Why should we have annoying NPCs?** They are great motivators. You can make entire campaigns based on proving them wrong. They push the players to behave in certain ways. Somit werden wir nun auch mal öfters Urlaub machen können und trotzdem zu zweit den RPg-Cast produzieren. Der neue bei uns das ist der Roland und stellt sich in der Sendung natürlich vor. Dazu noch eine Weltpremiere: Zum ersten mal in der Geschichte des RPG-Casts gibt es diesmal eine Sendung zu dritt!!! Seid gespannt! Domino Day (Roland & Jan) Freitag Abend war wieder Domino Zeit. Zum Neunten Mal fand in Leuvarden der Domino Day 2007 statt. Dieses Jahr stand der Domino Day unter dem Motto: "Falling into Life". Es waren 4,5 Mio. Steine Aufgebaut. Der Erste Stein wurde dieses Jahr um Punkt 21:00 Uhr von Katie Melua angestoßen. Es gab 4 Challenges. Zwei wurden bestanden und 2 verloren. Anfangs lief es auch noch einigermaßen gut, bis die 1. Challenge dran war, in der es um 100.000 Steine ging. Diese wurde nicht bestanden. Die nächsten beiden Challenges wurden bestanden. Bis dorthin ging so viel schief dass auch das letzte Feld, dass aufgrund der verlorenen 4. Challenge nicht umgefallen war, den Rekord nicht mehr hätte retten können. Am Ende fielen 3.671.465 Steine. Für den Rekord hätten mind. 4.079.382 Steine fallen müssen. Der nächste Domino Day findet am 23. November 2008 statt. 1 Jahr RPG-Cast (René/Patrick) Alles begann vor knapp einem Jahr: Da fassten wir den Entschluss, einen Podcast zu machen. Gesagt, getan, wenig später war die erste Ausgabe des RPG-Casts online, ok die Qualität war grotten schlecht. Die Technik ist aber nicht das Einzigste, was sich im Lauf des Jahres geändert hat, auch unser "On-Air"-Design hat sich mehrmals verändert, so haben wir ca 6 GID's verbraten (GID ist die Intromusik zum Beginn des Podcasts), außderdem haben wir auch viele Features kommen und gesehn sehen, zum Beispiel den Newsflash, den Gametipp und das Quiz. Auch in die Zeitung hat es der RPG-Cast schon geschafft, am 13.04.2006 stand in den "Verdener Nachrichten" ein Artikel über uns, den ihr unter den Links nachlesen könnt. Außerdem nahm der RPG-Cast beim Podcast Award 2007 teil, wo wir den 2. Platz belegten. Ihr seht, in einem Jahr RPG-Cast ist eine Menge passiert. (Patrick) Bereits die 20. Ausgabe vom RPG-Cast steht kurz bevor. René gönnt sich seinen vielleicht verdienten Sommerurlaub, und ich muss arbeiten. Oh man, ist das gerecht.
