Esta semana todo el programa es una enorme sección del Fondo de Armario, ese espacio en el que analizo en profundidad un álbum que merece la pena tener en nuestra discoteca. Entre el 21 y el 29 de octubre de 1981, Jean-Michel Jarre fue el primer músico occidental en realizar una gira de conciertos en la República Popular de China, en plena etapa aperturista tras la muerte de Mao. Tras esos conciertos, un álbum doble recopiló esos conciertos y el resultado fue un doble disco que supuso un antes y un después para Jarre como compositor. Solch eine Maschine nennt man Perpetuum Mobile, vom lateinischen »sich ständig Bewegendes«. Die ersten Berichte gehen auf die Zeit um das Jahr 1000 zurück, wo indische Gelehrte über dieses Problem nachgedacht haben. Bekannter sind die Überlegungen und Zeichnungen von Leonardo da Vinci (1452–1519). Allerdings hat sich gezeigt, dass solch eine Maschine unmöglich ist. Es ist immer eine Energiezufuhr notwendig, damit ein Prozess am Laufen bleibt.Der Bibelvers könnte den Eindruck erwecken, dass unsere Erde ein Perpetuum Mobile ist und immer weiter läuft. Allerdings ist auch hier eine ständige Energiezufuhr notwendig. Die Energie kommt von der Sonne. Die Sonnenenergie sorgt dafür, dass es Jahreszeiten, Wind und Regen gibt, dass wir Wärme und Nahrung haben und dass wir uns fortbewegen können.Gott selbst verspricht uns, dass das nicht aufhören wird. Allerdings hat er dem Ganzen auch einen festen Zeitrahmen gegeben. Er spricht von »alle Tage der Erde«, und die sind gezählt. Einmal wird hier alles ein Ende haben und zwar nicht erst in Millionen von Jahren, wenn die Sonne ausgebrannt ist. Gott selbst setzt diesen Zeitpunkt fest. Dann wird er die Erde richten. Sie wird aufgelöst werden, und Gott schafft einen neuen Himmel und eine neue Erde. Dort werden nur Menschen leben, die in ihrem jetzigen Leben Vergebung ihrer Schuld erfahren haben und eine Beziehung zu Gott – das neue Leben – bekommen haben. To celebrate the launch of Perpetuum Mobile, and the return of Milan Design Week, host Oli Stratford speaks to Benedetta Tagliabue, the director and head architect of the international firm Benedetta Tagliabue - EMBT Architects. Showing as part of the INTERNI Design Re-Generation exhibition event at the Università degli Studi of Milan, Perpetuum Mobile – The Dancing Furniture of Enric Miralles & Benedetta Tagliabue's home, brings together recreations of nine of the furniture pieces and objects that the architect designed alongside his partner Benedetta Tagliabue for their home in Barcelona, Spain. The exhibition includes tables, seating and shelving designed between 1992 and 1999, and reproduced in sustainable American hardwoods, but never put into commercial production.
