In Postcolonial Bollywood and Muslim Identity: Production, Representation, and Reception (Oxford UP, 2024), Nadira Khatun explores the contentious Muslim identity in contemporary India as reflected in recent Bollywood films. She argues that the approach towards Muslim identity in Bollywood films are influenced by the changing political landscape from Nehruvian India to the rise of BJP, which views Hindus and Muslims as separate religious communities instead of recognizing the syncretic culture manifesting in Hindu-Muslim unity. By analyzing the representation of Muslims in various films like Roja, Fanna, Mission Kashmir, Black Friday, New York, A Wednesday, Sarfarosh, she shows that the militant portrayal of Muslims is good for commercial success as opposed to a secular image. Overall, the study problematizes Muslim identity formation in Bollywood against the backdrop of nationalism and communalism in India. The sexual assault epidemic raging across the country is now making its presence felt in educational institutions, from those of higher learning to primary schools. Over the years, the gender safety guidelines for schools, colleges and universities have been largely ignored and there is little emphasis on gender respect and sex education programmes. Couple that with our centuries-old patriarchy, a faltering criminal justice system and tendency to victim shame, and what you have is a situation in which female students are constantly at risk while the perpetrators feel emboldened. Please listen to the latest episode of All Indians Matter.

This initiative, known as the "Restricts Rights of Transgender Youth Initiative," would require schools to inform parents of a child's gender identity requests and proposes banning gender transition treatments for minors. Gallagher criticizes the initiative's title, arguing it misrepresents its intent to protect parental rights and minors.  Email the Attorney General.Parents' Rights Law and Child Abuse Prevention Program in North Carolina: In North Carolina, two school districts suspended the "Safe Touch" program, aimed at aiding children in identifying and reporting sexual abuse, due to concerns about conflicting with a new law. Following a review, the program was found to be lawful. There are worries about certain sexuality curriculums encouraging improper behavior in minors and conflicting with anti-forced sex messages.  Link to video.Response to 'Parent Rights' Permission Requests in North Carolina: The Charlotte-Mecklenburg School District, adhering to the Parents' Bill of Rights, now mandates parental consent for student participation in health services, surveys, and sex education, shifting from opt-out to opt-in. This change resulted in fewer consent forms being submitted. Concerns are raised about budget impacts and a possible conflict of interest with Panorama, the survey provider, linked to the son-in-law of Attorney General Merrick Garland.  Link to 12-page bill.  Link to NY Post Article.Throughout the episode, Gallagher emphasizes the importance of parental oversight in educational content and criticizes programs she views as promoting harmful ideologies to children. As the war in Israel continues to escalate with strong indications that a much greater and inclusive war is on the horizon. Prophecy is most definitely unfolding before our very eyes as “Last Day's” precursors converge with strategic precision. And as God's Holy Remnant is paying very close attention to each prophetic detail that is being played out on earth's scene, the majority of the Church is oblivious to what is truly taking place behind the natural occurrences that mark our existence as humanity. The first thing we must consider as we seek the Holy Spirit for His discernment in these last prophetic hours, is that Scripture makes it very certain that Lucifer is the god of this world. Since the Garden of Eden, when Adam and Eve through disobedience to their Creator, relinquished their God-given authority over the earth to the Serpent, every realm that would unfold in the living out of life on this planet was placed under the headship of Lucifer.Every realm of society including Governments, Financial Institutions, Educational Institutions, Medical and Scientific Institutions, Technology, and every False Religious System known to man – came under his power. In this series, we will be presenting the many ways Lucifer is preparing the way for his Antichrist, and how his satanic strategies have been woven into every realm of society in order to provide the way for his global control. And, most of all, we will be pointing the way to Yeshua Jesus, and the Eternal Life that only He can give – while there is yet time!Support the showVisit our website: https://agapelightministries.com/

With ReadSpeaker embedded into an LMS, a website, or learning content, the user can choose from 68 languages and over 245 voices. They can choose from a suite of reading and writing tools; personalize their reading speed, highlighting preferences, font, size, colors, and more; and select distraction-free “text-only” mode. We've been trying to raise awareness about TTS tools being not only for students who need them. Follow on Twitter: ReadSpeaker Learn more about ReadSpeaker and get started today! In this episode, Dr. Nilanjana Paul of the University of Texas, Rio Grande Valley speaks about her new monograph, Bengal Muslims and Colonial Education, 1854-1947: A Study of Curriculum, Educational Institutions and Communal Politics (Routledge, 2022). The book is a micro history of the spread of education among Muslims in Colonial Bengal. Dr. Paul discusses the role played by Muslim leaders such as Abdul Latif and Fazlul Huq in the spread of education and examines how segregation in education, supported by the British fueled Muslim anxiety and separatism. By examining the conflict of interest between Hindu elites and Muslim aristocrats over education and employment, Dr. Paul shows how discriminatory colonial education policies and pedagogy amplified religious separatism that would eventually culminate in the 1947 partition of India and Pakistan.
