Low pressure of 29.6 tracks from the Southern High Plains to Mid-Atlantic area. Precipitation of a convective nature is occurring even on its cold side bringing thundersnow to areas that don't normally see this. Portions of Kansas will be seeing it's heaviest snowfall in 60 years as 12+ inches falls within a relatively short period of time. Storm starts to develop a negative tilt as it brings in strong Arctic air on its back side while copious gulf moisture feeds into the system. Areas that receive 0.5 inches of ice or more could expect to see at least some power outages. This storm will impact many major cities across states in the central U.S. to Mid-Atlantic. This includes St.Louis, Cincinnati, Baltimore and even Washington D.C. where 5 to 10 inches is currently forecasted. This episode discusses all this in more detail. In addition this episode discusses an impactful lake effect snow event that may set itself up over portions of the Chicago area and Southeast Wisconsin tonight and tomorrow Monday 1/6. Stay safe. And to our weather enthusiasts and snow lovers- enjoy! Children from Kansas to Washington D.C. will likely celebrate as all schools are likely to be canceled. This is due to this being a relatively southern storm- impacting cities that are not as equipped to handle these snowfall totals (as opposed to Chicago).Become a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/weather-with-enthusiasm--4911017/support.

Gary Kah is founder and director of Hope for the World. He's editor of Hope for the World Update, an author and former Europe - Middle East Trade Specialist for the Indiana State Government. This broadcast is part 2 of the audio from his speech at a September VCY America Rally in Southeast Wisconsin.--Yesterday, it was mentioned that the United Nations is only one step away from being able to seize control over all its member nations, including the U.S., in the event of an international emergency. The way the U.N. would do this is through the Summit of the Future. The U.N. describes it as, -...a high level event bringing world leaders together to forge an international consensus on how to deliver a better present to safeguard the future.- --Part 2 of this special broadcast builds on that point as Gary walked listeners through some of the specific plans of the summit and the pact -treaty- that's been proposed. He noted that there's almost 60 action points in their working document. These are areas of agreement that were to be committed upon by national representatives within 2 days after Gary spoke. The idea is to tie everything into the environment and health management and establish restrictive rules. Nations that fail to comply will be severely penalized, making it difficult for them to function. The goal is for the U.N. to be fully empowered so that they can be the ones responsible for managing a range of complex issues at the global level.--Supporters of such U.N. empowerment include the Vatican, the Climate Governance Commission -CGC- and the Foundation for European Progressive Studies.

The audio of this broadcast is from his speech at a September VCY America Rally in Southeast Wisconsin. --Before looking in detail at the national and world situation, Gary reminded the audience about Daniel who was told by an angel that knowledge would increase at a rapid pace during the end-times and current events are bearing this out. He then went to Psalm 2 where it reminds us that God is in control and He, not scheming and powerful people, will have the final say.--Gary noted that not since the 1860's has our nation been so divided and greatly deceived by the propaganda of socialists with their empty promises and lies. He believes that socialists, dedicated to a globalist, anti-Christ agenda, are firmly in control of most of America's government agencies. There appears to be no going back because as history shows, once socialists are in power, they stay there, often by force if necessary. He went through the recent history of Venezuela, a nation that once was the 2nd wealthiest nation on a per-capita basis, to prove his point. They went on to become a socialist nation and the leader has spent the past two months rounding up the opposition and placing them under house arrest.--His point-- The people of Venezuela didn't think this could happen. Could that happen here in the U.S.-- Gary believes we are on a very similar track as socialism has become very fashionable.

In this episode of She's Not Done Yet: Conversations with women over 50, I (Becky Berry) talk with novelist Mary Ann Noe. I'm excited to chat with Mary Ann because I'm an inveterate reader (150+ books/year) and I've always wanted to interview an author. Mary Ann is my first. Mary Ann embodies the idea of She's Not Done Yet. She's in her late 70's and has published 3 books in the last 3 years. Another one will be released in October 2024. Talk about not being done yet! In our conversation we talk about her novel, A Handful of Pearls and her newest release, Water the Color of Slate plus her other novels in process.  One of my favorite parts of our conversation occurred when Mary Ann shared how her mom gave her the first sentence in A Handful of Pearls - it's an attention-grabbing sentence! We also cover her writing process, her writing group, and, in general, the business of writing. Water the Color of Slate was released in October 2023 at a launch party hosted by Tricia's Troops, a local Southeast Wisconsin non-profit organization that supports people with cancer. Mary Ann is a breast cancer thriver. Stay tuned for more books from Mary Ann. Her murder mystery, Deserving of Murder, will be published in October 2024. It's part one of a trilogy. You can find Mary Ann's books at independent bookstores, on Amazon (including Kindle), and at Barnes & Noble online. I'm going to invite Mary Ann back to talk about Deserving of Murder when it's published.  Thanks in Advance for your help: I hope you enjoy this episode. If you did, don't keep it a secret! A rich heritage of beekeeping, spanning three generations, has grown into a thriving enterprise for one dedicated individual in Southeast Wisconsin. Nick Thill, owner of Honey Grove Apiaries and the president of the Wisconsin Honey Producers Association (WHPA), was introduced to beekeeping when he was only 12 years old when his aunt gave him his first six hives. Little did he know that this would seed a lifelong passion.  “I have grown my operation from the original six hives my aunt gave me to now having about 350,” says Thill. “We specialize in direct-to-consumer sales, predominantly in Southeast Wisconsin, particularly the Milwaukee area.” However, like many beekeepers across Wisconsin, Thill faces a plethora of challenges. Dealing with issues like brood mite infestations and the changing agricultural landscape, which leans more towards mono-cropping, has significantly impacted bee nutrition and foraging opportunities. Moreover, the unexpected arrival of black bears in Southeast Wisconsin has become a pressing concern, resulting in the establishment of the Black Bear Advisory Committee.See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

“It just felt like I was sitting on a powder keg, just apply a little bit of sales and some operations and, and watching it grow.” -Jim Becker Welcome to a brand-new episode of the Woodpreneur Podcast. Today, your host Steve Larosiliere is joined by Jim Becker the driving force behind Creative Log and Lumber, a full-service urban lumber company located in Southeast Wisconsin. Jim's story is one of transformation, from a career in aerospace and hydraulics manufacturing to becoming a passionate advocate for sustainable woodworking and the preservation of urban trees.  Jim's journey began in the world of manufacturing, where he spent 12 years working primarily in aerospace and hydraulics component manufacturing. Although he excelled in this field, it wasn't his true passion. Then came a furlough from his company due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and it was the catalyst for change. Jim's journey into the world of urban lumber started with a simple kitchen renovation project during the pandemic. He stumbled upon Creative Log and Lumber while searching for a live-edge bartop or island top. Little did he know that this encounter would set the course for his future. Months later, when the furlough extended, Jim decided to reach out to Creative Log and Lumber to offer his assistance temporarily. What was meant to be a short-term gig turned into a two-and-a-half-year adventure of passion and learning in the urban lumber industry. Listen now and get the whole story! “My mom looked at me and said, Jim, your marketing is so bad that your family members don't even know it. And she was done. And she's always called it as she's seen it. So that was a wake up call just so that I felt like I talked about what I did and shared with people what I did.” -Jim Becker The Genesis of Creative Log and Lumber Creative Log and Lumber is a division of Creative Edge Landscapes, owned by Bob and Corrine Livingston. These visionary entrepreneurs saw the potential in salvaging high-quality urban logs that often ended up as low-quality landscaping products. In 2011, they purchased a sawmill, built a dehumidification kiln, and slowly built their lumber business piece by piece. Jim joined the company when it was on the cusp of exponential growth. With his manufacturing expertise, he applied lessons from his previous career to the lumber industry, implementing operational improvements and quality control standards. Becoming Visible: The Marketing Challenge One of the significant challenges Jim faced was the company's lack of visibility. Creative Log and Lumber was nestled in a small town in Wisconsin, and very few people knew about their existence. Even Jim's own family members were unaware of his involvement in the business. The wake-up call came during a family dinner when Jim's mother-in-law innocently revealed that they were buying a table from a local woodworker found on Facebook Marketplace. Jim's dismay at not being their first choice highlighted a severe marketing deficiency. Jim realized that to grow the business, he needed to overcome his aversion to social media and embrace it as a powerful tool for reaching potential customers. It was time to change the narrative and make Creative Log and Lumber a well-known entity in the market. “I know, there's like this mindset amongst the wood community. It's like, if you do good enough work, people will find you, i'm like No!!!” -Steve Larosiliere Want to get in touch with Jim Becker? Tonight's guest, Jay Bachochin is a Sasquatch researcher who lives in the Southeast Wisconsin. In 2013, Jay started hunting the truth, as he calls it, with regards to the existence of Sasquatch, by putting a research team together and trying his hand at field research. Jay had heard a lot of opinions about whether Sasquatch were a reality or not, but he wanted to find out for himself, what the truth was. So, he headed into the Kettle Moraine, in an attempt to find out, for himself, if Sasquatch were really out there or not. It wasn't long before he had his answer. We hope you'll tune in and listen to him share some of the sightings and experiences he's had, over the years, and listen to him talk about his new Bigfoot documentary he's about to release.
