"[Joe Biden] would be a marked man if he doesn't leave now." In spite of a dismal debate performance and questions about his ability to do the job for four more years, Joe Biden has rejected calls to step down as the Democrats' nominee. YOU - The Master Entrepreneur - A Guide to True Greatness with Stan Hustad
I am sure that that is a shocking title to some of you. But without the sarcasm or the toughness that it might imply, that's exactly what I'm telling myself and what I might share with you. Some people called this day silent Saturday because it seems like nothing happened and certainly nothing was said after all of the chaos commotion and death that took place on Friday. Maybe there's a great lesson there. We can start with Jesus on Friday and we can explore if we have time and wish some of the great teaching and the power of silence and stillness in living a good and powerful and effective life. So maybe what God wants us to do when things are difficult and perhaps even when they're rather easy just to stop being noisy and doing fast things. Maybe we should sit down, shut up, be still, and pray by listening rather than talking. This is our final lesson from the week. Tomorrow we celebrate going up. For your time and attention this week I give you thanks and I appreciate you.
If you are passionate about what you are doing it feels less like work. Everyone is gifted at something, take your time and find out what that gift is for you. When the life-size statue of Jackie Robinson, the first black player allowed into the major leagues of American baseball was desecrated in Wichita, Kansas it became a major news story. But when $180,000 in funds were raised in only four days to replace it, this positive turn of events was barely reported. Naval Aviation involves extensive flight operations at night to project end-to-end combat capability. Night aircraft carrier operations carry extra risks to all involved. Both of your wingmen hosts have had to deal with challenging and potentially disastrous events during their time at-sea. Try to control your anger. Excess cortisol levels can increase your chance of sickness, premature aging and early mortality. If you are ready to finally get out and see the world, get your passport first; you will need it to get into other countries and back into this one. Meet two wingmen who transformed from survivors into first responders and saved others in need.

So in the next 15 minutes I'd like to talk to you about one of the most important things that you can do as we begin the new year. God wants you to learn how to sleep and how to rest and how to do nothing. And the vast majority of people like you who are motivated, on the move, and seeking to make your mark don't get enough sleep. And because of that a lot of things go wrong and a lot of things that could be better aren't getting better. So join me as I continue my resolution for the last year or so to learn how to get really good at doing nothing. One of my favorite expressions I say to my wife is, "I love you, Goodnight I'm going to bed now." So please join me for some talking to my self reflections and perhaps a challenge to you as we seek to remind ourselves and maybe learn for the first time that we need to take our resting a lot more seriously than we have in the past.

Lionfish (Pterois volitans) aren't native to the Atlantic Ocean nor the Gulf of Mexico, yet the Pacific Ocean species has taken up residency in those coastal waters and is subsequently wreaking havoc on those marine ecosystems. Without many natural predators in their new environment, lionfish populations have grown in numbers and range. This has resulted in [...]

Sit Down/Shut Up! Royalty joins us this week in-person at an undisclosed studio location, deep in the Valley of Connecticut. The former QUEEN of MEANing, lets us have it as we weave our way through her advice for comedians, what makes a great, and sh*tty roast joke, an overwhelming amount of digs at some of our friends, and what her brand new live show is all about. It's not often that you get a chance to sit face-to-face with a legend - and one of your comedic heroes - and we definitely made the most of the hour. Obviously, many tears were shed. We are not worthy. If you are in CT don't miss Lisa Lampanelli's SIT DOWN & SHUT UP at Fairfield Theatre Company on April 24th. It is a hilarious evening of stories, insight, and questionable advice. If you are not in CT, it's also available via live stream. Tickets for both at www.fairfieldtheatre.org For More info check out www.lisalampanelli.com or Instagram @lisalampanelli Thanks to Royal Fox Studio for the hospitality (and incense) IG @royalfoxstudio See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.
Millennials – or Generation Y, if you prefer – have never had so many bosses, more flexible hours or more of a focus on what a company can do for them, as much as what they think they can do for it. The rise of a more me-first mentality is likely to clash with older generations who valued an approach more focused on ‘sit down, shut up’ then self-starting, according to author and academic Adam Kingl. In the latest episode of Future Thinking, Kingl, who spoke recently at Citywire’s World of Boutiques Europe event, outlines how millennials will fit into the modern workforce and what that means for increasingly important topics, such as mental health awareness.

From the creator of Arrested Development comes a surprisingly unfunny animated sitcom with an even more surprising all-star cast (Jason Bateman, Will Arnett, Maria Bamford, Nick Kroll, Will Forte, Kenan Thompson). After premiering early 2009, the show was yanked off the air by FOX after just four episodes. Special guest Sasha Kalra joins Aidan and Dan as they attempt to make sense of the highly offensive and undeniably different Sit Down Shut Up.

Don’t Be A Jerk: And Other Practical Advice From Japan’s Greatest Zen Master with Brad WarnerAired Thursday, 28 July 2016, 7:00 PM ETBRAD WARNER, bestselling author of books like Sit Down & Shut Up and Hardcore Zen, isn’t your typical Zen master. And his latest book the enclosed advance reading copy of his upcoming new book Don’t Be a Jerk: And Other Practical Advice from Dōgen, Japan’s Greatest Zen Master isn’t your typical book about Buddhism. The Shōbōgenzō: The True Treasury of the Dharma Eye is a revered 800-year-old Zen Buddhism classic written by a Japanese monk named Eihei Dōgen. However, despite the tremendous respect his teachings have earned over the years, many consider the book difficult to understand and rarely read.A student of The Shōbōgenzō for thirty years, Warner has referenced Dōgen in the six previous books he’s written about Zen practice. Now, in Don’t Be a Jerk, he presents a radical but reverent paraphrasing of Dōgen’s work for modern times in plainspoken language that’s also entertaining.Says Warner, “We need Dōgen today — desperately. His philosophy offers us a way out of our continuing battles between the idealistic and the materialistic view. He offers us a Middle Way that shows us we do not have to choose between science and religion.Join Sandie and Brad Warner as they discuss such issues as:* Was Dōgen the First Buddhist Feminist?” * You’re Already Enlightened Except You’re Not” * Did Dōgen Teach Reincarnation and Does It Even Matter If He Did? * And more…BRAD WARNER is the author of Don’t Be a Jerk and numerous other titles including Sit Down & Shut Up, Hardcore Zen, and Zen Wrapped in Karma Dipped in Chocolate. Anyone that’s had the chance to study with Brad Warner knows he’s young(ish), funny and knowledgeable about the Dharma. Warner’s new book, Sit Down & Shut Up, chronicles the life and times of Dogen, author of the Shobogenzo. The book simultaneously tracks Warner’s own career as a punk rock bassist and Zen teacher, weaving Dogen’s story seamlessly with his own. With warmth and humor coming through in both the book and the interview, we get a chance to hear Warner talk about the book, the four points of zazen, being bored and innate perfection. This is part 1 of a three-part series. Listen to Part 2: Feeding the Beast & Part 3: It’s Like Phil Donahue!
