Flashback Episode of The Father Time Podcast with Jamie KalerBorn in Norfolk, Virginia, Michael Bunin spent the majority of his youth in Las Vegas where he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and studied Theater Arts. His improvisational skills were honed at The Second City Players Workshop in Chicago and the famed Groundlings in Los Angeles. Bunin has been a staple at The Improv Olympic West in Los Angeles where he continues to display his improvisational talents. His numerous TV credits include Superstore, Modern Family, Mad Men, but of course he will best be known as the Squiggy to my Lenny as Kenny Morittori on the hit TBS show, "My Boys". Yes, Mike has no kids, but he's got a cool dad and gave us a counterpoint to having kids. This episode could easily be an outtake of a My Boys episode. And after listening to this, you'll have to make up your own mind, "To have kids or no kids. That is the question."You can catch more of Mike Bunin at: https://www.instagram.com/michaelbunin/and on TikTok at:https://www.tiktok.com/@michaelbuninYou can catch The Parent's Lounge live every Tuesday Night 10pm EST/7pm PST at:https://www.facebook.com/theparentslounge#theparentslounge #mikebunin #superstore #myboys #parentingpodcast #jamiekaler #jasongowin #katemulligan #comedians #parentingadvice #funnyparents #hilarious #cohosts #nokids #improv #singlelife #dadlife #standupcomedy #parentinghumorJamie Kaler's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jamiekaler/Jason Gowin's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/jasongowin/Kate Mulligan's Instagram - https://www.instagram.com/katestmomever/The Parent's Lounge TikTok - https://www.tiktok.com/@theparentsloungeshow
Flashback Episode of The Father Time Podcast with Jamie KalerThese genius dads are my favorite single panel cartoonists since The Far Side. And as it turns out, they are some of my fave guests ever. I met them the day of the show and they are truly some of my funniest guests ever. Here's a little backstory. Daniel and Jeremy Lehrer are identical twin cartoonists and comedy writers. They grew up in a large extended family in Los Angeles where the emphasis was on academic excellence, classical music, fine art, and other activities designed not to get them laid. After respectively graduating from Columbia University and Columbia Law School, Jeremy became a small cog at a big corporate law firm, while Daniel became a small cog at Ducati Motorcycles in Bologna, Italy. They engaged in a half-decade of the usual post-graduation soul- crushing work, before deciding to “Voltron” together to pursue their dreams of drawing and writing. They are represented at CAA.@lehrerboys, Daniel and Jeremy's Instagram account, is inspired by their horrible childhood fights over the Sunday Funnies and who got to read “The Far Side” first.Their satirical and biting single-panel cartoons comment on everything from Kim Kardashian and “selfie etiquette” to gender-neutral toilets and masturbation in high-tech times. The Lehrer Boys bring an outsider perspective to their work. They have created, sold, and developed numerous shows with studios including Fox, Adult Swim, Maker, and Amazon, and have been privileged to collaborate with talent like Paul Feig and Mila Kunis. They also recently created “Highly Gifted,” a series of animated shorts with Maker Studios, based on their socially-challenged high school years and starring comedian Ron Funches, Josh Brener of “Silicon Valley,” Oscar-winner Nat Faxon, and pop-icon Kesha. You Check them out at https://www.lehrerboysshop.comYou can catch The Parent's Lounge live every Tuesday night 10pm EST/7pm PST at:https://www.facebook.com/theparentslounge#theparentslounge #thelehrerboys #jamiekaler #jasongowin #katemulligan #farside #HighlyGifted #funnydads #parentingpodcast #parentinghumor #standupcomedy

Reid Scott has an extensive acting resume, best known for his starring role as Brendan "Brando" Dorff in the TBS comedy series My Boys and Deputy Director of Communications Dan Egan in the HBO comedy series Veep. Scott has stretched his acting muscles again in this heart-warming and hilariously funny movie, Who Invited Charlie. Scott said this was an authentic "indie" experience, with the cast and crew constantly working hard to make each shot count while offering the actors freedom and space to improvise and have fun with their characters. Scott said this film is more than just another project. It was made from the passion of all those involved, and he is proud of it. We were able to sneak in some questions about Scott's return to the final season of The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, adding this season has some of the biggest and funniest episodes to come, hopefully leaving the fans satisfied with the final episode. Host: Monica Gleberman Editor: Polina Jdanova Social Media Graphic: Jojo -- Synopsis: Phil Schreiber, a self-involved hedge fund manager, living in New York City, escapes to the Hamptons with his wife and son at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic. Making an already fraught situation worse is the surprise arrival of Phil's college roommate Charlie, an exemplar of Falstaffian excess *Who Invited Charlie is currently making its rounds on the festival circuit, hopefully announcing a worldwide release soon. For The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Prime Video has not announced a release date, but rumors are the final season of the show will be available next year. Flashback Episode of The Father Time Podcast with Jamie Kaler:You'll know him best as the "Caveman" from the Geico commercials, but John Lehr is an accomplished actor, writer, director, and show runner. He co-created the shows "10 Items or Less" for TBS, "Quick Draw" for Hulu, and "Jail Bait" for Hulu. But today we talk about parenting. The tale of his parents staying together till the kids went to college is absolutely amazing. The story of making 60 grand a week to play a mute is phenomenal. And the fable of the night he spent in a Santa Barbara Jail on acid is unbelievable. (John has been sober for a long time now). One of my favorite story tellers we've had on the podcast. His raw honesty is so refreshing. There's a reason his shows do so well. He's a fantastic family guy now but his "back story" is great fodder for the sit-com world he's helping create. Kylie-Anne of New South Wales, Australia and the mother of 5, has been nominated for a book award at SABA 2020 Book Awards. Recently self-published her life story, Born to Survive and is working on her second book, Fighting for My Boys, about the 10 years she spent in the family law court to get her boys back. The hardest part of writing her story was knowing she was going to lose what little family she has left. Kylie-Anne claim it's time to tell her story as the truth will set her free as a survivor as a victim of incest, post-rape pregnant, post-mortem daughter at age 15. Subsequently, Kylie-Anne suffered domestic violence, depression, suicide-attempts. Additionally Kelly-Anne lost people she loved to suicide, natural causes, and murder. And having lost her sons, she could not look after myself, much less my children. My life was not worth living.I survived. More than that: “I lived. I found resilience. I fought my way back. I overcame. And I became me: a mother with wonderful children & an amazing life.” Airing Times in the USA: 7:00 pm AST, 7:00 pm EST, 6:00 pm CST, 5:00 pm MST, and 4:00 pm PST. Photo by Cindi Albright via Flickr We talk a lot about what's hard about parenting. About all of the important things you need to and should do with your boys. This Thanksgiving, we talk about why we're thankful for boys. Let us count the ways: They expand our worldview and experience. The boys in our lives introduce us to hobbies, interests and events we didn't even know existed! (Did you know that that there's a Green Industry & Equipment Expo? Jen didn't -- until her 12-year-old entrepreneur asked if they can go.) Their "ginormous" hearts. As one Mom told Janet, "My boys will always tell me they love me." Boys may express their love differently than girls, but they have huge hearts and give so much love. The privilege of shaping future men. Boys Alive member Luis told us he's grateful for the privilege of shaping "future honorable men." We are too. And we're so grateful for all the dads, grandpas, uncles and others who are also helping us build great men. They inspire us be better people. Joseph, another Boys Alive member, says he's thankful for his son's "admiration for me -- which is motivation for me to be what he should look up to." They show us how to relax & have fun. Building Boys member Laura says, "I love that my little boys have taught me to loosen up and have fun wrestling and just being silly. I love that they're so comfortable dressing up to play 'Let's Pretend.' I love that they itch to get outside and run around and play all day...They are teaching me patience, courage and that fine balance between keeping them safe and letting them take those important risks." (If that doesn't sum up the experience of raising boys, I don't know what does!) They stretch our comfort zone. When we see our boys doing something out of our comfort zone -- or when we're called upon to do something beyond our comfort zone -- it's easy to panic and say no. But often, our love for our boys inspires us to wait, to watch, and to say yes. We see our boys (or ourselves) accomplish something we'd previously thought "too hard" or "too risky," and gain confidence. We realize that we're more capable than we ever thought. They help us better understand half the world. We've learned so much about men by watching, listening to and learning from our boys! As Carma, a BuildingBoys member, told us, "I learned to see life from a male perspective and was shocked to learn there are stereotypes and expectations on males too." Males and females approach the world differently, and that's OK. They increase our tolerance. Boys have taught us to enjoy and appreciate mess, chaos and physical energy. They teach us that fighting is OK. As women, we often get the message the fighting is "bad." Parenting and teaching boys has shown us that it's OK -- and even healthy -- to disagree and stand your ground. People can fight, and still be friends. They challenge our beliefs. Before boys, Jen was sure she'd have a "no gun" household. Four boys later, her house contains a virtual arsenal of Nerf weapons and Airsoft guns, and she's learned that there's no evidence to link "violent" play with real-life violence. Tell us: Why are you thankful for your boys? We'd love to hear your thoughts! There are a few slight audio glitches in this episode. We apologize for any inconvenience. Links we mentioned (or should have) in Episode 136: 7 Reasons I'm Thankful for My Boys
Actor Jon Crowley (MOCKpocalypse, My Boys) stops by Studio 309 and discusses watching Second City shows growing up, attending Western Illinois University and more! Info, photos, links, et cetera -- http://boxangeles.com/207
Born in Norfolk, Virginia, Michael Bunin spent the majority of his youth in Las Vegas where he attended the University of Nevada, Las Vegas and studied Theater Arts. That is the question."
Here is my interview with Jamie Kaler, a great friend who I've known since his bartender days at O'Brien's in Santa Monica. He rose up the comedy ranks in starring roles in "My Boys" (oops, you'll see what I did), "Will & Grace" and countless others. We talk about being in charge of his own destiny (Dads in Parks) and his new series "Heathers." Steve Cooper talks with actor Michael Bunin. Michael is an American actor perhaps best known for playing the role of Kenny on the TBS sitcom My Boys. A prolific and highly successful commercial actor during the early part of his career, starring in at least 50 national commercials, the transition to the single camera comedy on TBS was a natural and seamless next step. Steve Cooper talks with writer Cindy Caponera. She recently published her collection of essays, I Triggered Her Bully which is available both in an online and print version, after being named a Kindle Top Rated Humor Book and will soon be available on audio book.
Today’s guest on “ADD Comedy with Dave Razowsky” is Adrian Wenner. Adrian’s an actor, a writer, a producer, and a really fun person to have a podchat with. He produced and wrote on “Whitney,” “Mad Love,” “My Boys” (working with his wife and the show’s Executive Producer--and ADD Podcast guest--Betsy Thomas!). He’s been seen on “My Boys,” “Becker,” “Scrubs,” but what I love about Adrian Wenner is what a great improviser he is. Great thing about this podcast? Adrian learns something about his family that prior to our interview he never knew! It’s a good one.
