We had the pleasure of interviewing RAEGAN over Zoom video!New York-based, queer experimental alt-pop artist RAEGAN releases her highly-anticipated debut EP, FUCK RAEGAN. Her first full-length EP, the project debuts her as a rising, multi-faceted creative force to be reckoned with.At its core, FUCK RAEGAN is an unpredictable, theatrical, and innovative journey through RAEGAN's inner workings. The six-track record shows her fully embracing her own unique sonic atmosphere, embellishing carefully-crafted rhythms with soft, haunting vocals. Combining witty-yet-personal lyrics with inventive beats and vivid soundscapes inspired by Tyler, the Creator and Marina, RAEGAN's versatility and songwriting prowess is front and center throughout the EP. The four previously-released singles are now complemented by two additional tracks - tongue-in-cheek title track “FUCK RAEGAN” and the vulnerable “101 DALMATIONS.” “FUCK RAEGAN” sets the tone for the project with its unapologetic confidence of RAEGAN finding her identity that served as a driving force in the EP's formative stages. Meanwhile, “101 DALMATIANS'' ends the project on a softer, more vulnerable note as RAEGAN juxtaposes the prior tracks as she laments, “You don't want them to know me.” As a whole, the songs build an empowering illustration of the authentic, head-spinning experiences of navigating self-discovery and to not take life too seriously, despite everything.“In this period, I was finding my identity not only in life but as an artist; these beats are me experimenting with that,” shares RAEGAN. “Continuing to grow and elevate, I see myself having found my audience and creating a bond with them. It's only up from here, and I'm excited for people to hear what I've made so far so I can start releasing my new music and have my listeners follow me through real time. I'm constantly growing and going through different eras of my life and I'm ready to show the world who I am now.” RAEGAN consistently challenges artistic boundaries with her work. Following the positive reception of her track “COINS'' late last year, which was highlighted in Billboard's “Queer Jams of the Week,”RAEGAN continues to remain a dynamic force in the alt-pop music scene and grow her legion of dedicated fans online. Her earlier single, “MEAN'' gained praise from People Magazine, earning her a spot on their “Talented Emerging Artists” list, recognizing her as a bold trailblazer in the industry. Her latest release, “FROGS,” set the stage for the EP and earned playlisting by Ones To Watch and praise from Substream Magazine. Her work has not only been praised for its sound, but for the songs' accompanying visuals that bring them to life on a screen and further prove RAEGAN's overall artistic genius. The release of ‘FUCK RAEGAN' is momentum for what is set to be a massive year for RAEGAN. Last week, she concluded supporting Autoheart on their completely sold-out Love Me, Love Me, Love Me tour across the United States, bringing her captivating live set to venues such as the iconic Troubadour in Los Angeles and New York City's Racket.Stay tuned for more from RAEGAN.We want to hear from you! We had the pleasure of interviewing MISSIO over Zoom video!Personally, MISSIO is the union of two longtime friends and creative kindred spirits. Musically, MISSIO is a living and breathing entity with a mind of its own. Communally, MISSIO is a movement of fans worldwide attached to the sentient artistry of those creators. The acclaimed Austin, TX duo—Matthew Brue and David Butler—fearlessly break the rules as they fuse elements of rock, electronic, indie, and hip-hop into an unmatched and uncompromising hybrid. They tie seemingly disparate threads together with honest and heartfelt lyrics meant to both provoke and inspire.Following the 2023-2024 Cinco EP series, the pair present their most definitive and dynamic vision yet with their full-length double-album, I Am Cinco [Nettwerk Music Group]. It collates five moods—I Am Sad, I Am High, I Am Awesome, I Am Angry and I Am Crazy—into one.Since 2015, MISSIO have painted this picture. It only became clearer as they served up projects such as Loner [2017], The Darker the Weather // The Better the Man [2019], Can You Feel The Sun [2020], and VILLAIN [2022]. Tallying over 1 billion streams, their catalog has notably resonated with the Gold-certified “Everybody Gets High” and staples, including “Twisted,” “Bottom of the Deep Blue See,” “Sing To Me,” and “I See You.” Between packing houses on tour, they appeared at festivals a la ACL and Lollapalooza and incited the applause of Atwood Magazine, Billboard, Rolling Stone, The Boston Globe, New Noise Magazine, and Substream Magazine. This ambitious season of music initially took shape in their headquarters of Austin only to be completed on a creative sojourn to Mexico City. Excited to share the music with the world, the group teased what would become I Am Cinco with 2023's I Am Sad, I Am High, and I Am Awesome. Everything just set the stage for them to finally release this body of work in its entirety as I Am Cinco. We want to hear from you! Anabel DFlux began her artistic journey at the age of ten, upon being gifted her first camera. This newfound passion quickly turned into a skilled endeavor, and by the age of fifteen, Anabel had opened her own photography service, DFlux Photography. By seventeen, her photography service became a full-time profession. By the age of nineteen, Anabel had received an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communications, and by the age of twenty-three, a Bachelor's in Business Marketing with a focus on branding and content marketing. Although photography is a self-taught skill, during this time, Anabel had also collaborated with several well-known photographers, attended multiple workshops and panels, and received a few certifications- all in order to increase her knowledge and further her passion.  Anabel's love for art and creation has always been an innate feeling, and she prides herself on having a natural sensitivity for composition, aesthetic, and various other aspects of visual art. This aids in her keen ability to understand what it takes to make a great photograph, not just a good one. The camera is as much a part of her as her arm, and became an extension of her body. Alongside this, Anabel's life-long passion for animals and music brings forth her strongest work.  Simultaneously, Anabel's teenage love for music manifested in her desire to photograph musicians and their various escapades. Having shot her very first musician portraits at the age of sixteen and her first concert the same year, her music photography career began rolling very quickly. Despite the industry's hardships and tumultuous statistics, Anabel persevered in her desire to be a part of the music industry, albeit in a photographic sense. Since then, she has worked tirelessly with hundreds of bands, had her music photography published just as many times (in print and online), and received Senior Journalist positions at three music magazines, such as Outburn Magazine. She had previously worked for Substream Magazine, and had her work featured in Revolver Magazine, AP, Blabbermouth, and more. Anabel loves promoting all of the musicians that grace the front of her lens, and found a deep love for writing about their music. As of 2017, Anabel can officially say that her music work has reached an international level, with her photography being published in various music outlets within Finland, England, and Norway.  However, potentially the most unique and interesting twist in Anabel's career is her partnership and work with exotic animals. Something that most definitely happened on a whim, sprinkled with a bit of luck, Anabel fell into the world of wolfdogs (commonly, but by scientific standards improperly, called “wolf hybrids”) which then led to her work with various species of foxes, dingoes, and tigers. Anabel fell deeply in love with these incredible animals and has a very strong admiration for the individuals whose entire lives are dedicated to the wellbeing and conservation of our natural world. The connection one feels when looking into the eyes of a wolf is unbelievable. Anabel DFlux has partnered with marvelous organizations to bring these creatures to photo shoots, and uses the photographs to debunk myths surrounding the animals, encourage the public to step up and protect their wild counterparts, and to raise funds for conservation. Contrary to popular belief, these are not wild animals, they are domestically bred to be a part of the respected ambassador program, and are specially trained and cared for to love the company of people.  https://www.deliquesceflux.com Learn more about your ad choices. His storied acting and music career spans over a decade starring in dozens of TV shows and movies including Teen Wolf and Truth or Dare, as well as being a member of multiple bands including PVMNTS and Five North. In 2020, Posey decided to take a big step in his music career by becoming a solo artist.Standing alone in the spotlight for the first time has been freeing in more ways than one, least of all when it comes to his courage to open up about the hell that was 2020. The early days of the COVID pandemic were particularly pronounced for him, exacerbating deep-rooted anxiety, depression and childhood trauma that manifested in a self-destructive pattern of drug and alcohol abuse. Left to his own devices while quarantine orders ruled Los Angeles, life inside Posey's home became a dangerous cycle of isolation and intoxication. This new chapter of Posey's career sets off a powder keg of personal reflection and growth, grounded by his elastic voice, juxtaposing a devil-may-care growl and smooth-throated pop-punk sheen.hellofresh.com/backwards50Promo Code: backwards50We want to hear from you! A tried-and-true rock n' roll band, they plug in and unlock a flood of emotions energized by unbridled guitars, fluid percussion, and a distinct vocal howl. After amassing over 5 million YouTube views and receiving acclaim from Consequence of Sound, American Songwriter, Paste, Substream Magazine, and more, the quintet—Pete Argyropoulos [vocals, guitar], Brina Kabler [keys, vocals], Kevin Haaland [lead guitar] on Adam Kury [bass] conjure this magic on their independent 2022 EP, Ordinary Sex Appeal. “Our vision is always to put five people in a space, trade ideas, and let the process be very human,” says Argyropoulos. “It's not manufactured. It's not autotuned. It's not done from separate locations. We capture inspiration in the moment. It's an old school way of doing things. Our goal was to turn that up on this new EP.” Joining Keith & Geoff in Thunderlove Studio this week are Pete Argyropoulos and Kevin Haaland of the LA-based Sons of Silver. We had the pleasure of interviewing Real Friends over Zoom video!Illinois-based band REAL FRIENDS have released their brand new EP 'There's Nothing Worse Than Too Late' out now via Pure Noise Records. The EP, features previously released singles 'Tell Me You're Sorry' and 'Always Lose', was produced by Andrew Wade (A Day To Remember, Neck Deep) and mixed by Kris Crummett (The Callous Daoboys, Knuckle Puck.)Speaking about the new EP the band said "‘There's Nothing Worse Than Too Late' was written and recorded over the last year and half. We went back to some of our earlier influences for it. When writing, we kept referencing more timeless bands like The Starting Line, Taking Back Sunday, Jimmy Eat World and many others. It has always been important for us to write songs that are timeless, but that was in the front of our minds more than ever when compiling TNWTTL. We want our fans to go back and listen to these songs in five or ten years and still feel something. Lyrically it touches on depression, death, cutting long lasting ties for good and many other heavy subject matters. At the end of it all, if our fans feel less alone because of these songs then it's a success in our eyes."The band spoke on the latest single from the EP and said "‘Six Feet' is a song about longing to be loved and appreciated while you're still here. I always see and hear good things said about people after something bad happens to them or after they pass away. I think we all need reminders to appreciate our loved ones that are alive, healthy and right in front of us. This song is that reminder to ourselves and our fans."About Real Friends:For as much as the world has changed since Real Friends first emerged in 2010, the band's mission hasn't. They continue to bleed without apology and write songs that make it okay to feel everything: the ups, the downs, and anything else in between. Rather than shy away from emotion, the group runs right towards it with distortion cranked and hearts opened, tightening their careful distillation of pop and punk on each subsequent release. When the band—Dave Knox [lead guitar], Kyle Fasel [bass], Eric Haines [rhythm guitar], and Brian Blake [drums]—welcomed vocalist Cody Muraro in 2020, the goal stayed the same as they crafted new music for Pure Noise Records.Over the years, Real Friends has forged and strengthened a deep connection with fans. The group's 2014 full-length debut, Maybe This Place Is the Same and We're Just Changing, marked a turning point. Rock Sound named it one of the “Top 50 Albums of the Year.” 2016's The Home Inside My Head maintained this momentum with further acclaim and sold-out shows. In 2018, Composure incited applause from Music Connection, Alternative Press, Substream Magazine, New Noise, and Billboard who described it as “raw.” To date, they've also amassed over 100 million streams and counting. We want to hear from you! Interview with Mob Rich

Bringin' it Backwards

We had the pleasure of interviewing Mob Rich over Zoom video! As much as the alt-pop duo's sound owes to the specific otherworldly chemistry shared by Los Angeles transplants Maxwell Joseph and Connor Pledger, the charming melancholy, adventurous soundscapes, and big hooks they conjure are built for everyone. MOB RICH makes intimate and bold music destined to build a broader community with kindred spirits. These are new anthems for the outcast. The band's full-length debut, Why No Why, is a collection of conversations in musical form, draped in an effervescent atmosphere. Careening between wry observations and sharply optimistic affirmations, MOB RICH demonstrates a commitment to artistic authenticity on the record, on the stage, and screens big and small. Straightforward hooks, with flourishes of grand theatricality, collide with existential themes and joyful whimsy. As people and musicians, Connor and Maxwell examine humankind's inherent need for belonging, the seemingly overwhelming obstacles of anxiety and depression, and feelings of ostracization and "otherness." The confessional nature of MOB RICH's songs, combined with darkly comedic self-awareness, is immersive and pure. Substream Magazine observed, "there's both a carefree attitude and some serious life discussions peppered in." Emotional honesty and a keen sense of humor are vital pieces of the MOB RICH puzzle. The duo draws favorable comparisons to Tame Impala and early MGMT. A rhythmic punch like TØP and a swagger akin to Oasis intermingle in MOB RICH. They count Grandson, Broods, and Bishop Briggs among their collaborators and comrades. Already a staple of tastemaker playlists and radio formats with buzzing singles "Get High" and "Yoko Ono," MOB RICH joined the Republic Records roster via the seasoned A&R maverick behind Ariana Grande and The Weeknd. Big bass and bigger drums are almost always part of the soundscape, with rich diversity built over the top of it. It was inevitable that, given the bond forged by Maxwell and Connor, MOB RICH would explore duality. It's hard to find a millennial these days who isn't "woke," or who's "politically correct" so as not to offend anyone and who's a full-on social justice warrior. Meet Suzanne's virtual assistant, Kelsey Merritt, who's in studio, to discuss how music and pop culture have changed over the years and ultimately produced a "lost" generation. Kelsey is a music industry veteran, small business owner and proud “non-woke'' millennial. Kelsey jumpstarted her music career at 16 years old as an artist for Radio Disney. She has shared the stage with a number of notable artists such as Brett Michaels of Poison, The Jonas Brothers, Vanilla Ice and Katy Perry. Her music projects and works have been featured in The New York Times, Alternative Press Magazine, The Sun Sentinel, Substream Magazine, MTV and MTV2. After taking a much needed break from the pressures of the music industry, Kelsey founded two successful businesses: an entertainment company and a social media and digital marketing company, Taking Care of Business https://takingcareofbusinessmarketing.com/ . She continues to play music and manage her current cover band, The Silent Shout https://www.thesilentshoutmusic.com/ , in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Aside from her professional pursuits, Kelsey is a conservative millennial and political junkie who loves to cook, read, drink wine and travel. ABOUT ROBBY STARBUCK Robby Starbuck is a director, producer and the owner of RSM Creative. He has directed & produced music videos for Gucci Mane, Ty Dolla $ign, Black Veil Brides, Asking Alexandria, Transformers: The Last Knight Movie, Sarah Bareilles, Terminator: Genysis Movie, Natalie Portman, Gina Rodriguez, Akon, Smashing Pumpkins, The Sounds, Shiny Toy Guns, Metric, Yellowcard, Escape The Fate, Big Sean, Machine Gun Kelly, Eve, Snoop Dogg, MakJ, Krewella, Headhunterz, Mali Music, Pop Evil, Pierce The Veil, Dirty Heads, Matisyahu, Gabe Saporta, August Burns Red, Skillet, Matriarch, Times of Grace, Demon Hunter, Silverstein, Megadeth and many more! Robby Starbuck is a director inspired by dichotomy. Dark vs. Light, Good vs. Evil. If you're thinking about something he's thinking of what the opposite could be. This kind of thought process is embedded in the high gloss videos he's become known for directing. Not one to shy away from the critics or the fans he's immersed even what he does behind the camera into an art-form of it's own. After early success in his career and offers from production companies to sign Robby decided to start his own company RSM Creative in an effort to start his own powerhouse. Cincinnati’s Colly nimbly balance robust rock songcraft and electronic pop ambition, maintaining the perfect push-and-pull among seemingly opposite ends of the spectrum. (For the uninitiated, think The 1975 producing Kings Of Leon, and you’re halfway there.) Formed in 2017, the quintet—Jake Hollen [lead vocals], Andrew Hopkins [drums], Colin Langdon [guitar], Anthony “Tony” Morick [guitar], and Chris McGrath [bass, backing vocals]—quietly drummed up a buzz with early acclaim from Alternative Press, Substream Magazine, and more in addition to attracting a growing fan base fueled by marathon touring. The group’s 2018 full-length debut, I Can’t Sleep at Night [Paid Vacation Records], illuminates their intimate, idiosyncratic, and infectious style. I have Jake and Andrew from the band Colly on the show. During our conversation we talk about: Hard lessons the band has learned Being new to touring The amount of patience it takes to be a professional musician While listening to this episode pay attention to what each member brings to the table. I love how much these guys are like brothers. Having strong relationships and being able to communicate are skills that all band needs to survive and eventually thrive. One last thing before we dive into the conversation. Colly’s new album I Can’t Sleep At Night is available everywhere now. Let them know your favorite songs from the album and that Hear&See sent you. And now here is my conversation with Colly. Challenge Something I hope that everyone can take away from this conversation is how important strong relationships are and being able to communicate. It’s pertinent to a bands success. If you consider yourself an amateur I want to challenge you to book your first show. Don’t be discouraged if you get a few no’s at first, that’s normal. If you are a pro musician book a weekend or week’s worth of shows. Tell us how it went after by emailing us at info@hearandsee.co or telling us on Twitter @hearseeco.
