Send us a textA great comeback story always resonates, especially when it involves a band that's caught the attention of prominent music outlets like Revolver Magazine, who dubbed them a “Band You Need to Know.” Meet Gore, a breakthrough four-piece metalcore outfit from Houston, Texas, and their dynamic frontwoman, Haley Roughton. In this episode, Haley opens up about the journey that led to the formation of Gore and the unique chemistry she found with bandmates Alex Reyes and Devin Birchfield —a connection she describes as unparalleled. This synergy laid the foundation for their debut EP, A Bud That Never Blooms, a ferocious and emotionally raw offering that has left listeners craving more. The five-track release is a testament to their dedication, crafted with the support of a production team that ensured every note and lyric carried heartfelt intensity. But it also starts with Haley's unique musical influences, which more than paved the way in the writing process for this record. While many bands take years and multiple albums to define their sound, Gore has achieved this feat in just five songs. Haley reflects on this ascent and hints at what's next for the group as they prepare to tackle 2025 with new music, appearances at major festivals, and even greater ambitions. This conversation with Haley is as much about personal resilience as it is about Gore's rise—a story you'll want to hear taking place both on and off the stage. A Bud That Never Blooms is available now worldwide via Spinefarm Records.Stay connected with Gore, visit: https://www.goretheband.com/, https://www.instagram.com/gore.theband/, and https://www.facebook.com/gore.theband/Stay connected with IUF, visit: https://interviewunderfire.com/

Anabel DFlux began her artistic journey at the age of ten, upon being gifted her first camera. This newfound passion quickly turned into a skilled endeavor, and by the age of fifteen, Anabel had opened her own photography service, DFlux Photography. By seventeen, her photography service became a full-time profession. By the age of nineteen, Anabel had received an Associate's Degree in Graphic Design and Visual Communications, and by the age of twenty-three, a Bachelor's in Business Marketing with a focus on branding and content marketing. Although photography is a self-taught skill, during this time, Anabel had also collaborated with several well-known photographers, attended multiple workshops and panels, and received a few certifications- all in order to increase her knowledge and further her passion.  Anabel's love for art and creation has always been an innate feeling, and she prides herself on having a natural sensitivity for composition, aesthetic, and various other aspects of visual art. This aids in her keen ability to understand what it takes to make a great photograph, not just a good one. The camera is as much a part of her as her arm, and became an extension of her body. Alongside this, Anabel's life-long passion for animals and music brings forth her strongest work.  Simultaneously, Anabel's teenage love for music manifested in her desire to photograph musicians and their various escapades. Having shot her very first musician portraits at the age of sixteen and her first concert the same year, her music photography career began rolling very quickly. Despite the industry's hardships and tumultuous statistics, Anabel persevered in her desire to be a part of the music industry, albeit in a photographic sense. Since then, she has worked tirelessly with hundreds of bands, had her music photography published just as many times (in print and online), and received Senior Journalist positions at three music magazines, such as Outburn Magazine. She had previously worked for Substream Magazine, and had her work featured in Revolver Magazine, AP, Blabbermouth, and more. Anabel loves promoting all of the musicians that grace the front of her lens, and found a deep love for writing about their music. As of 2017, Anabel can officially say that her music work has reached an international level, with her photography being published in various music outlets within Finland, England, and Norway.  However, potentially the most unique and interesting twist in Anabel's career is her partnership and work with exotic animals. Something that most definitely happened on a whim, sprinkled with a bit of luck, Anabel fell into the world of wolfdogs (commonly, but by scientific standards improperly, called “wolf hybrids”) which then led to her work with various species of foxes, dingoes, and tigers. Anabel fell deeply in love with these incredible animals and has a very strong admiration for the individuals whose entire lives are dedicated to the wellbeing and conservation of our natural world. The connection one feels when looking into the eyes of a wolf is unbelievable. Anabel DFlux has partnered with marvelous organizations to bring these creatures to photo shoots, and uses the photographs to debunk myths surrounding the animals, encourage the public to step up and protect their wild counterparts, and to raise funds for conservation. Contrary to popular belief, these are not wild animals, they are domestically bred to be a part of the respected ambassador program, and are specially trained and cared for to love the company of people.  https://www.deliquesceflux.com Learn more about your ad choices. Robert Cooper and Mark Radulich review Intolerance by Throwdown! Throwdown is an American heavy metal band from Orange County, California. Formed in 1997, the band has endured numerous lineup changes to the point where no original members remain. Throwdown has toured as part of Ozzfest, Sounds of the Underground, Hellfest, and Warped Tour, as well as with bands such as In Flames, Lamb of God, As I Lay Dying, Killswitch Engage, Korn and Cavalera Conspiracy. The songs "Forever" and "Burn" were staples on MTV2's Headbangers Ball and Revolver Magazine called them part of "The Future of Metal" after hearing the album Vendetta. Initially branded a hardcore punk band, albums like Venom and Tears and Deathless took a sharp turn towards metal, with critics likening the band's sound to that of Pantera and Sepultura. This week we have another long-form episode. I'm really exicited about this one. We've all seen the impact classic death metal had on hardcore over the last few years. Something that's happening in a bit more subtle of a fashion is the influence of deathcore on hardcore. Many new kids have gotten into hardcore from deathcore and heavier metallic stuff over the past 10 years, but it's treated as some sort of unspoken secret. That seems to be changing as bands like Sunami and the Daze records scene openly embrace deathcore's influence on their sound. With that in mind, I'm joined by Revolver Magazine editor one-time deathcore head Eli Enis to talk about 15 of deathcore's most essential records and how they may have shaped or be shaping hardcore. If you like heavy hardcore, you likely know Troy-Core by sound, if not by name. This marginal scene in Upstate New York in the 1990s created some of the most unhinged, brutal, and heavy hardcore bands the impacts of which can be felt all the way to the current day – sometimes being referenced pretty directly by acts like Twitching Tongues and God's Hate. Zeistencroix's a post-industrial band from Los Angeles, California. The band was founded by Orlando Draven (Vocals and songwriter) and is accompanied by Santi (Drums) and AKO (Guitars). Their powerful sound is a blend of metal, industrial, progressive, alternative and goth making their songs fluctuate from heavy music to ethereal cyberpunk vibes guided by Orlando's throat singing, heavy screaming and harmonious melodies. In 2017 they released their EP titled “Gemini” under the production of Tim Palmer and Bill Metoyer giving a yin yang feel to the album and experimenting with the blend of two different styles in one record cutting the singles “Saturated” and “I Need You Tonight” with respectives videos and press articles on Revolver Magazine and The Huffington Post. Their first full album ”Gen Z” was presented in the middle of 2019 followed by a European tour in the fall of that year. Their US Tour was scheduled for Spring 2020 but it was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Finally, after the lockdown was finished, the band toured the US with "Undead States Of America 2021 Tour". Today I talk with OD about Zeistencroix's EP Cruxi Fiction. New Wave of American Heavy Metal. Tras la demos, Burn The Priest grabó sendos álbumes compartidos con Zed y Agents Of Satan. Now you've got something to die for». Otros grupos serán: Atreyu, In This Moment, 3 Inches of Blood, Hatebreed, Chimaira, Shadows Fall, y Winds of Plague.

Chaos. It's a word that sums up Chris Dearing's solo project titled The Sound That Ends Creation. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN is a new project featuring ex-Emarosa (Corsets Are Cages) vocalist Chris Roberts alongside guitarists Chris Wethington & Garrett Harper (Softspoken), and drummer Cody Frain (A Scent Like Wolves). Classifying themselves as “new old-posthardcore” THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN masterfully blend elements of classic post-hardcore with modern metalcore to create a truly unique listening experience that is both familiar and refreshing. Their debut single "Detach: Envenom" was premiered by Revolver Magazine, and has received praise from outlets such as Chorus.fm as being in the same vein as post-hardcore OGs such as Underoath, Saosin, and Thrice. "This is really just a collective representation of the truest part of each of us," vocalist Chris Roberts explains. From the lyrics that are as raw as they are poetic, to the blend of aggressive and passionate vocal delivery, to the instrumentation that is equal parts precision and chaos - THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN are masterful in their creation of a sonic soundscape that enraptures the listener. "The music that we make is the four of us taking the emotions that we have, whatever they may be, and turning them into something healing. It's cathartic," Roberts expands, "and it's surreal to be a part of it." Author Credit: Spotify – The Difference Between Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

WHAT STARTED OFF AS A ONE-MAN ARMY PROJECT...In the Summer of 2015, Ovtlier has grown into a roaring rock band of stadium ambitions. Led by the enigmatic frontman Joey Arena, Ovlier has already captured the hearts of more than 60K daily followers online, more than 2.1 million views of fan-curated content on YouTube, over half a million streams Spotify, appearing in Revolver Magazine, Alternative Press, Loudwire, ABC News and has been selling out shows around the Northeast. Their latest release, “What Doesn't Kill You” takes the listener on a roller-coaster jaunt. Drawing influences from Breaking Benjamin, 30 Seconds To Mars, Korn, Periphery and others, Ovtlier brings the rock and metal edge to a new height of intensity. Inspired by everything 80's to 90s grunge and NuMetal, Arena began playing guitar at the age of 11 on an old 3-string guitar. After achieving commercial success with his band, Young Bloods, Arena re-centered himself and began traveling 8 hours from Rochester to Cleveland in search of an identity and definition for what would become Ovtlier's debut EP, “What Doesn't Kill You”. Playing sold-out hometown shows, touring the states and rapidly growing their fan-base among all types of music fans. Housing a hybrid sound that cross-pollinates into other sub-genres, giving formula to freedom in songwriting and forever being able to validate surprise in their releases to come. Ovtlier is set out to deliver their most personal and intense work yet.Author Credit: https://www.ovtlier.co/bio

As Raven lived in the dark world of the Doctor, she secretly learned his magic and conjured up a demon, Muppet, who she made her eternal protector and trapped him inside her heart. The Doctor and Muppet created Stitches to search for those who are looking to join our dark metal carnival world in the 13th hour. Way back on Episode 43, Mario and Sarah Quintero of the three piece band "Spotlights" were the guests on the show. So, my former co-host John Lamacchia put me in touch with the drummer for "Spotlights", my guest on Episode 151 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast... Chris Enriquez. Chris also works for "Revolver Magazine", has played in "Primitive Weapons", filled in on drums for "Beyond" and "Shai Hulud" and now plays guitar in a new hardcore project called "Total Meltdown". His main band, "Spotlights" will be doing a two week run on tour with "Faith No More" and "Korn". We talk about his new band and stepping out from behind the drums and doing something out of his wheelhouse as well as his job at "Revolver". I had never formally met him until the night this was recorded and it couldn't have went better. Super nice guy and an unbelievably talented musician. Enjoy.

While the new season will still include interviews with industry creatives as it did in Season One, it will also include “shoot diaries” where Nick Fancher gives you insight into his creative process on a particular shoot. This episode will take you behind the scenes on Fancher’s two shoots with Grammy award-winning metal band, Korn. The first shoot was Fancher’s visual contribution to The Nothing, the bands 13th album, and the second was an editorial shoot for Revolver Magazine. Aside from discussing how he concepted and executed his signature techniques in the shoot, Fancher spends a significant portion of the episode talking about how he has been coming to terms with past trauma in his life and allowing it to inform how creative process. Our annual Thanksgiving show where we review a turkey of an album!   Look What the Cat Dragged In is the debut studio album by American glam metal band Poison, released on August 2, 1986 through Enigma Records. Though not a success at first, it steadily built momentum and peaked at #3 on the US Billboard 200 on 23 May 1987. The album spawned four singles, three of them charting successfully: "Talk Dirty to Me", "I Want Action", "I Won't Forget You" and "Cry Tough".[4] It serves as a prime example of the glam metal genre both musically and image-wise. The album ultimately has sold four million copies worldwide, one of their best-selling albums. Look What the Cat Dragged In was certified gold in 1987 and 3x multi-platinum in 1990 by the RIAA. It has also been certified silver by the BPI and platinum in Canada. Described by Revolver Magazine as "oversexed, under-thought, and relentlessly fun", the album's style is often described as "glam metal" and was strongly influenced by East-Coast bands like Aerosmith and Kiss and It is a sound dominated by distorted power chords and catchy melodies. Reflecting a period before the band's music began to take on the influence of Californian, Van Halen styled stadium rock, the album is characterized by more traditional heavy metal sounds.
