Together with American Songwriter and Sean Ulbs of The Eiffels, we had the pleasure of interviewing VÉRITÉ over Zoom video! A week after COVID-19 became a national emergency, VÉRITÉ decided to cancel a sold-out, headlining North American tour. Plus, at that time her own personal storms would entirely uproot and change her life.Quarantined and on her own, she wrote "Younger Women," the first song from her latest project New Limbs: Volume 1. An exploration not confined by traditional structures, New Limbs defines the ethos of her next musical chapter and mirrors the uncertain era we all find ourselves in.This EP became an opportunity to experiment with new ways of working and connecting with sounds and collaborators, and fans. VÉRITÉ used the forced isolation to hone her production skills, embracing the challenge to innovate once again - something she has done in every other aspect of her career. "I'm excited to find new ways to share and connect with the people who listen to my music right now," she says about the current challenges facing the music industry. A prolific and "spellbinding" (NPR) songwriter, executive producer and performer, her independently produced albums, EPs and singles have garnered 300M+ streams across all platforms with 1M+ monthly listeners.Stay tuned as VÉRITÉ will be announcing a new series of initiatives to accompany the EP projectWe want to hear from you! This EP have special guest, my big Soundcloud-friend from London - Mark Bailey also knows like MAN 2.0 in the second part! Check it out! Mark Bailey aka MAN2.0 has been splicing together sounds longer than he can remember, as a teen he graced the microphones of some terrible covers bands as well as DJing some of the most hedonistic house parties that Hayes Town had to offer, while by day working at the local record store. After throwing away his guitars and buying an appregiator his music gained a bit of attention from the Ransom Note and was taken under the wing of Tronik Youth. From the age of 18 he regularly attended Fabric and the now defunct End nightclub and Turnmills immersing himself in London’s club scene. With forthcoming releases on Nein and Night Noise, he gets the opportunity to attempt to emulate the sounds of his heroes Laurent Garnier, Darren Emerson, Ivan Smagghe, Andrew Weatherall and Justin Robertson. After her grandfather passed in 2011, Sarah decided she would move to Nashville two years later to pursue music at Belmont University. A year after releasing her debut EP in 2014, she was discovered by Scotty Schultz, drummer of Shooter Jennings (Waylon Jennings’s son). Scotty opened up his publishing company, Raindrop Music LLC, in 2015 and after hearing Sarah’s original song “Watered Down Whiskey”, he knew he wanted to sign her right away. This would be Sarah’s first publishing deal. Scotty decided he would produce her first country EP, Watered Down Whiskey, of all original songs that Sarah has either written or co-written. "This EP will help many people and hopefully some will have their heart healed by her emotional lyrics," stated Music Update Central after hearing the release of her second EP in February 2018. Sarah’s country influences range from The Dixie Chicks to Brandy Clark to Johnny Cash, which comes across on her second EP, Watered Down Whiskey. Scotty Schultz of Raindrop Music, LLC stated that, “she is a driven woman who deserves to be heard,” and the stories will definitely be heard. Vocalist Randy Bettencourt shares what Ten Year Guilt, Part 1 means to him. He says, "It really is a culmination of something that we started over 10 years ago. Personally, I knew that we had great chemistry together and things just clicked. Putting things back together and seeing things through was exciting and very satisfying." Jump The Fall took a 10-year hiatus, though the band never officially broke up and stayed active in the music scene with other bands. Drummer Steve Kilroy shares, "10 Year Guilt is the name of one of our songs but seemed appropriate. Around that time I had gotten the opportunity to tour with Tantric. Sadly, soon after that opportunity, people had family matters that forced us to disband, but every so often we would talk about possibly getting back into it." Kilroy adds, "The recordings were always my personal favorite tracks, and getting to remix and master them for a release was more than satisfying to me." As far as the recording process went, Bettencourt shares, "This EP has touched multiple studios in multiple cities, states and even countries! From Massachusetts, to the UK, to LA, Nashville, and a few other places in between. It took some time but we think we got it right." The EP was recorded and produced by Dave Eve, Anthony Resta, John Mailloux, and Paul Hager. Mastering was done at The Lodge.

Max C Bud is a Sydney musician , he joined John on the phone to discuss his new EP “ Human Things” .Max C Bud has settled into a songwriting temperament of integrity and open-eyed appreciation, the Sydney-based writer has crafted a body of work that places his thoughtful approach to storytelling amongst gentle country tones and soft rock reveries. This EP, Human Things, has a compassionate embrace of the self and community.Max’s first two releases Temptress and Relevance garnered promising reviews via bloggers AAA Backstage and Happy Mag as well as both tracks being added to the mood media playlist. Both tracks can currently be heard in stores such as Myer, Woolworths, Harris Farm, Levi’s to name a few. The film clip for Relevance was also aired on MTV’s Upload program in June 2019.After the success of his previous releases Max was ready to jump back in the studio. This time working alongside young producer Ben Saler. Their first release working together Straight from the Heart was an early glimpse into the direction of Max C Bud’s maturing sound, moving further away from the Indie acoustic pop towards a larger band dynamic reminiscent of the classic folk rock sound made popular by bands such as Australian favourites Paul Kelly, Boy and Bear as well as UK juggernauts Mumford and Sons.Human Things is the debut EP release for Max C Bud. In his own words “It’s my most accomplished work to date and one that I truly feel proud of”. With a reoccurring theme throughout Human Things explores the realities of living in a world where mental health issues have never been more prevalent than it is today. Lead single Jaded documents that first step in becoming the best version of yourself and facing the challenges that have hindered your personal growth up till now. Sung with an extra sense of angst not yet heard in Max’s repertoire, his honest and earnest approach to song writing is once again at the forefront of this powerful and uplifting folk-rock tune. Moody guitars accompanied by a pulsating backline create an energy that is reminiscent of a pop Springsteen vibe. The recording process was an accumulation of numerous weekend recording sessions out of the Viking Lounge in Ultimo Sydney followed by some late night and often emotional vocal takes in the confines of Max’s workshop. Mastered by Paul Stefanidis out of The Viking Lounge Mastering.Having taken the songs on the road and trialled them in front of crowds at Tamworth Country Music Festival, Max has found that his song’s resonate widely. His stories of struggle and love vibrate intensely with a homeland rock connection and an experienced spirit.

Heavy metal band ZombieKing drops their latest EP, Dead to Life, via Pavement Entertainment. The EP was recorded and mixed at Hammer Forged Records in Corpus Christi, Texas, and mastered at Fascination Street Studios in Sweden by Jens Bogren. Produced by Robert Beltran, this EP is packed with unique music which takes influence from both traditional and contemporary heavy metal/rock. Vocalist Juan Manuel says, "Dead to Life can best be described as an addict finally hitting rock bottom. During the writing process, ZombieKing had to overcome multiple personnel changes, lost loved ones and family members to suicide/drugs/disease, and all while facing our own personal demons. Dead to Life captures our thoughts and emotions from the past few years, and uses them to spread a message of Hope, Faith, Perseverance, and Redemption." Dead to Life marks a major turning point for ZombieKing. Manuel says,"Much like the addict's realization, for the band, this is our new beginning. This is our 'only way to go is up' moment. This EP is ZombieKing bringing the dead to life." In addition to the new EP, ZombieKing premieres the music video for the single "Dead at the Scene." Ideas for the song dates back several years. Manuel explains, "In 2016, lead guitarist Eddie Salinas brought his bag of riffs to practice and showed the band what he felt would become part of the ZombieKing debut album." Loss propelled the band forward. Manuel adds, "It wasn't until the summer of 2017–following the deaths of rock legends Chris Cornell and Chester Bennington–that the band would return to those ideas and form what would eventually become the lead single from Dead to Life. Drawing inspiration from our fallen heroes, we then aspired to write about the tough and very personal topic of depression, and how it is possible to overcome." Manuel says, "The music video for 'Dead at the Scene' demonstrates the struggles that someone dealing with loss, depression, addiction, or anxieties may face on a daily basis." Hailing from Robstown, Texas, ZombieKing formed back in 2013. They have shared the stage with many established acts, including As Lions, Alien Ant Farm, Hawthorne Heights, and Powerman5000. The lineup consists of Juan Manuel (Vocalist), Eddie Salinas (Lead/Rhythm Guitar), Andrew Garza (Bass Guitar), and Cosme Williams (Drums).
