What is it like being in a game where you are losing 79-0, or it ends 100-12? What's it like being in the AF1, your floundering sponsorship from the Hulkster holding you hostage, forcing you to watch your team get obliterated by a QB who completes 10 passes, 7 for touchdowns, for a robust 110 yards? Do you look at everything that led you to this moment: the tears on the HS practice field, the brutal Summer training sessions in college, the letdowns on practice squads with the NFL, the XFL, the UFL? Now you're here on the field for the East Kansas Pork Butts and you're losing by 100 points. Where did it go wrong? You fell into that well that one time and hit your head and discovered a bunch of 70s porno mags. Maybe that was it? It was after you'd done really bad at figuring out the Untappd ratings for a bunch of grocery store beers or something? Maybe that was the moment. But now you're in the locker room of the Buttman Arena and no one is there to interview you after the game. A gen AI model generates some quotes that you didn't say and slaps them into a shitty article by a fake man named Lyle Biscuit. With WrestleMania in Las Vegas this weekend, Greg and Dane look at the last Mania held in Vegas in WrestleMania IX from Caesar's Palace! It's a double main event with the Hulkster returning with Brutus "The Barber" Beefcake to face Money Inc. for the WWF Tag Titles and Bret Hart defending the WWF World Title against Yokozuna! Also, we ask ourselves were there two Doink's? How did Hogan get that black eye? What the hell was that body suit for Giant Gonzalez about? Get ready to put your money dance on and put on a Toga for WrestleMania IX on The Squared Circle Time Machine!
We finish up the DEFINITIVE REVIEW of Survivor Series 1988! I am once again joined by my brother Jesse, as we talk the second half of the PPV event. First, it's Team Jake "The Snake" & "Hacksaw" Duggan vs. Team Andre the Giant & Dino Bravo. Jake's revenge on Rick Rude, Andre's phobia, the return of Harley Race, Mr. Perfect's streak, Vince's obsession with protecting Dino Bravo, Hacksaw always avoiding pinfalls when eliminated, Ken Patera finishing up, Scott Casey replacing a replacement, & more. Then it's onto the main event when Team Mega Powers meet Team Twin Towers. We discuss the odd choices to fill out the teams, and the even odder showdowns in the ring. A Hillbilly and his ROOSTER. The slave/master battle continues between Hercules and the Million Dollar Man. King Haku shines. It's a double schmoz for the Boss Man & Akeem as they put down the Mega Powers but find themselves eliminated. While Randy Savage battles for survival, the Hulkster & "pickpocket" Miss Elizabeth overcome the "Dr. of Style" Slick's antics on the outside. We breakdown the finish of the match, and Hogan's need to pose versus checking on his partner. Then, an exclusive interview as Jesse Ventura questions Macho Man's feelings towards Hulk Hogan. Randy denies any issues, but Ventura sees it differently. The seeds are firmly planted here at the end of this epic night of action! Please Subscribe to our Patreon to help pay the bills, https://www.patreon.com/wrestlecopiaIncludes the $5 “All Access” Tier & $9 "VIP Superfan" Tier featuring our VIDEO CASTS, Patreon Watch-Along Series, our insanely detailed show notes (for the Grenade, Monday Warfare, Regional Rasslin, Puro Academy, & Retro Re-View), Early Show Releases, REMASTERED editions of the early Grenade episodes including NEW content! Cody Rhodes gets the last laugh on John Cena in Cena's final WWE RAW appearance before Wrestlemania! WWE RAW 3/31/25 review, results, highlights with Lee Sanders of THE RCWR SHOW including takeaways on:
Sure, today's going to be decent, but I'm looking at 69° on Friday and getting ready for a ride! Weather will definitely be better later this week. In the news this morning, a possible recall may be coming for thousands of Ford F-150 trucks, 23 & Me is filing for bankruptcy, a nurse in Monroe County is being accused of having an inappropriate relationship with a patient, a new craft beer festival is coming to the Wisconsin Dells, and the former Minnesota Senator accused of soliciting a minor for prostitution is staying in jail for now. In sports, the Bucks lost to the Suns last night, MLB opening day is just a few sleeps away, JuJu Watkins is out for the rest of the season with a leg injury, and the men's March Madness Sweet 16 kicks off on Thursday. Elsewhere in sports, now that a bunch of teams have been eliminated from the tournament, college basketball coaches are heading all over the place for a new gig. And the Hulkster is losing massive amounts of popularity, apparently. We let you know what's new on New Release Tuesday and we talked to Grant Bilse of the Wisco Sports Show now that he's back from his trip to Mexico. Is your home full of dust? Here's five tips to help clean things up a bit this Spring. Are you a fan of Fireball? Are you over 90 years old? Well, you could win a "lifetime supply" of the whisky. Have you heard of the term "Boomerasking"?? It has little to do with someone's age, but more to do with wanting to talk about yourself, rather than listen to someone else's story. These videos always get me in the #Feels…a retired Military K-9 & his Army Veteran handler were recently reunited and the clips are emotional! Plus, a funny story about a goat & a kangaroo that worked together to escape the farm. In today's edition of "Bad News with Happy Music", we had stories about a woman who ran over a bicyclist on her way to a golf lesson, an elementary school teacher who exposed himself in class while he urinated into a trash can, a pilot who forgot his passport at the airport & had to turn a flight around to go get it, another pilot who had to make an emergency landing because some asshole on a plane refused to give up his cigarette lighter, and a man got his girlfriend's hand stuck in his mouth. Tread Perilously's '80s flashback month concludes with an episode of The Love Boat called "Miss Mom/Who's the Champ/Gopher's Delusion" The Pacific Princess's latest Mexican coast sailing comes with a twist -- a wrestling match between "Lover Boy" Bob and Thomas 'The Mangler' Sharkey. The promoter even retained the services of Terry "Hulk" Hogan to do ringside commentary! But when The Mangler's sister has a lovely interaction with Lover Boy, will it turn the kayfabe into a serious grudge? Meanwhile, Cruise Director Judy tries to find a man for her cousin, Gretchen -- and potentially succeeds -- even as Gopher is hypnotized into believing he is Captain Stubing. Justin finally faces an episode of The Love Boat. Erik pitches guest actor Tim Rossovich for the other version of Superman III that never got made. Both are surprised by the show's anthology structure. The presence of the Hulkster, and Caitlyn Jenner as one of the wrestlers, leads down certain directions -- including an appreciation of "Macho Man" Randy Savage. A wild Teri Hatcher appears! The old Navy Seals joke gets dissected. The myth of Ted McGinley is also addressed. Erik identifies a couple of guest stars from their Star Trek: The Next Generation appearances. Jenner's 1980s hairstyle gets dubbed "the Pete Rose" and Erik realizes a startling connection between Gopher and Star Trek's Pavel Chekhov.
This week on the Grenade we close out October of 1988 in the WWF as we look at the October 29, 1988 edition of the WWF's Saturday Night's Main Event. Featuring the final showdown of Jake "The Snake" Roberts vs. "Ravishing" Rick Rude, Tag Champs Demolition vs. The Hart Foundation, Hulk Hogan vs. King Haku, Dino Bravo vs. Ken Patera, Big Boss Man vs. Jimmy Powers, Andre the Giant has a fear of snakes, Cheryl Roberts final WWF appearance, Jimmy Hart and the Fabulous Rougeaus cause issues for the Harts, Hulk Hogan brings lady luck herself, Miss Elizabeth, out to ringside as his manager... but where is the Macho Man??? Plus, we look into the new hot feud between the Hulkster and the Boss Man, and soundbites galore! It's important for us to cover these shelf battles between Hulk Hogan, an “every day carry” gun and holster company, and the Conservative Dad. Who else will give you the updates you need on these weirdos who all made the same cheap shitty beer marked up by 300%? That's right, it's the Beer Engine. We also use our journalist bonafides to cover the newly created “American Craft Beer Hall of Fame” which, coincidentally, did not induct The Hulkster. Who was more influential: Rasheed Wallace or Jim Koch? This is some classic bar chatter right here. ★ Support this podcast ★

A very Hulk-centric episode of The Stevie Richards Show this week. Stevie talks about Hulk Hogan and Eric Bischoff arrival in TNA and how that indirectly impacted his career in the company, the influence and changes that came about on the back of it and a very interesting memory Stevie has from a conversation where the Hulkster let his guard down backstage. Stevie fires up the Smartboard to perform a breakdown of Hulk Hogan taking the Undertaker's Tombstone. Could the Hulkster have sustained a real deal injury from the move and cause the Deadman to fear for his job? Then, in the main event, Stevie takes a look at some of the biggest fibs Hulk Hogan has told over many years including being asked to join Metallica, Discovering Kevin Owens and JUST missing out of the BIGGEST endorsement ever! Stevie Richards surprised, entertained and informed the wrestling world in 2023 when he debuted the Stevie Richards' Wrestling Analysis YouTube channel to widespread critical acclaim. Combining his experience in the wrestling profession with his keen eye for detail and a passion for teaching fans and workers alike, Richards achieved over 100,000 YouTube subscribers in a matter of months with his short form videos explaining exactly what went right or wrong in a particular match or manoeuvre. With 30+ years working for nearly every major American promotion during their hottest periods (ECW, WCW, WWE, TNA), Stevie Richards is not only dusting off his patented whiteboard and marker to once again break down the psychology and physicality of this crazy business, but Stevie is now adding to his repertoire by debuting a weekly show, imaginatively titled The Stevie Richards Show. The "show" in The Stevie Richards Show is the key word - this will not be another run of the mill podcast recorded on Zoom, clipped up and posted 8 times a day on YouTube and featuring a disinterested ex pro wrestler out to make a quick buck. What makes The Stevie Richards Show a "show" will be the attention to detail given to every episode, including added on screen annotations, factoids, images and video and 4K camera set up to give the sharpest, best looking, broadcast quality videos on YouTube. Most importantly of all, The Stevie Richards Show's output will be about quality, not quantity.
